- Firefly Drone Shows is a premium drone light show company based in Detroit, Michigan and servicing the United States along with several other countries around the world and are one of the only FAA licensed companies in the world.
Routines are pre-programmed, choreographed, and automated by a computer to create any design imaginable in the sky. This level of customization makes light shows an ideal alternative to traditional fireworks for corporate, private, and special events.
Now normally a drone light show can last up to 20 minutes. However, additional drones can be launched to replace drones with depleted batteries, creating a seamless and continuous light show.
When the company uses 300 drones in a show, the light display can span up to 600 feet across the sky, and people can see this display from miles away.
The drones used for each show are designed and built in-house by the Firefly team. The design allows Firefly to fly with impressive specs:
• 23min flight time
• 25mph wind threshold
• 27watt LED
• High Precision GPS System

Guaranteed this would appease a lot of Karens whining about fireworks in Coquitlam.
Good, and only Karens and Vietnam War veterans who need their own special treatment centers want these.
They are beautiful and I love them, but for me they do not replace fireworks....the sound of the shells, the smells, the intensity.

I understand you, but the costs of fireworks ( animals, polluttion etc ) are too high no to make them something of the past. thats how life goes : things evolve

my cats freak when fireworks go off in the area, you can even hear the new years eve fireworks in the city popping off from 15 klms away.
And they'll all survive and be fine and get used to it or they won't just like babies, and birds, and squirrels
The reason a lot of people like traditional fireworks is that the "boom" they produce simulates the sounds of war, which on July 4 reminds them of America's victory over Cornwallis and the redcoats in the Revolutionary War. I am somewhat sympathetic to that, even though I feel that these high-tech light shows will eventually replace fireworks.
War is a part of life.

The batteries are getting better all the time. Pretty soon, their charges will be able to last several hours instead of just 20 minutes.

They can do things drones can't. Can drones crackle? No. Can drones be fan shaped? No. Can fireworks crackle? Yes. Can fireworks be fan shaped? Yes. How much do drones cost? Possibly tens of thousands of dollars for 1 drone. How much do fireworks cost? The cheapest ones that shoot up in the air come in packs of 10 and are 25 bucks a pack. Just some examples.

Will it replace fireworks no (well maybe in California, I understand those people are easily scared); but they can be used in addition to fireworks nicely.
Everything you see, be it on a smart phone or a TV or a laptop is just an array of tiny bright lights.
Can you imagine those as kamikaze bombs like in Angel has Fallen.

And they absolutely will (start taking the place of pyrotechnics shows). I haven’t been crazy about it. I’m somewhat of a purist that way. Plus, I’m old and that just seems to be the way most of us ‘oldies’ roll. So I resist the idea, but at the same time I recognize it’s probably for the best and the more demos see, the more it appeals to the technoid part of me. I just hope there will be some kind of device to release the smell of burnt sulfur into the air at these shows coz that’s actually a big part of fireworks memories. Olfaction is so HUGELY powerful when it comes to refreshing memories! Alas though, if the sulfer element ever came to fruition, it would be for only one show… it would offend someone. 🤷♂️
I'm an Aviation Flight Operations Specialist, I've seen UFO's and drones. I know the difference...

Nothing special about this, obviously the difference is that he can identify one and not the other.. hence the U in UFO.
However if he can identify *alien spacecraft* vs drones, then count me interested.
This would be great for evening shows at amusement parks like disney or universal.
1) less costly
2) less noise for people living around park
3) 20min show is all they need
4) can bring their characters/franchises come to live

good for pets too .. my dog hated fireworks with a passion and they even posed a danger to us because she would freak out and do dangerous things like trying to climb to the pedals in a car ect ect
Your dogs climbing under the pedals in your car is purely on you and has nothing to do with fireworks. Train your pets. Take responsibility.

Drones will NEVER EVER replace fireworks. People want to lit it up, and have joy about it. Drones are fun, and it can be beautyful but never will it replace the real deal.

I'm not celebrating the fourth this year our city has the dumb drone works instead of the real fireworks,,I love the booms,,the flashes and the smell,,,I'll buy some fireworks of my own have my own little party and on the 4 th watch a live REAL fireworks display!!!!!
There's too many pyros out there to not have fireworks at all. Fireworks will never leave but some shows may be replaced with drones I'd say 1/3 if at most of the professional display show might be replaced cuz of the tree huggers out there. But thats at most and I don't even see that many transitioning over either.

Fireworks must not be replaced. There's beauty in how they burst, the way the gunpowder smells, and the sheer fact that they can become symbols of celebration, freedom, and victory over adversity.
I can live without that, fireworks kills thousands of animals and cause sheer panic amongst them. I'm happy if they get replaced.

just like cars never replaced horse and cart, electric lights never replaced lanterns, robots never replaced humans on production lines, automated voices never replaced receptionists. you are right, it will never happen.
Some people will mistake these drones for ufos, but there are sightings out there of objects in the sky which quite obviously are not drones. Drones do not move at the speeds some of these objects have been seen travelling at, neither are they capable of making sudden, extreme maneuvres.

I think where they show them used in tandem with fireworks is the most likely scenario.

The loud booms of fireworks is also why people hate them. They freak out the pets for miles and idiots here in the US set them off at all hours for days and days. Drones are much better in my opinion.
I agree also, I am in a far out suburb, almost in the country side, and people let off fireworks here also on special day all the way upto 2am or more and annoys the fuck out of me and scare the cats.
@@WonderWorldYTC I moved far away from humans so it's not a problem for me anymore but friends and family always complain about it and I feel their pain. I used to live in a suburban area with a lot of morons that set off fireworks. They were just setting their money on fire. The professional fireworks displays are impressive but the ones people set off in their driveway are not.
@@Venn922 who said it needs to be corporate logos and icons? It’s way more than that. Fireworks are polluting, loud, annoying. And as mentioned, freak out my dogs. Fireworks try hard to display something like a heart or Saturn but it can’t put on a show like drones.
I got to see an Intel drone show with thousands of drones and it was one of the most incredible man-made shows I have witnessed, but the way this video focuses on the "downsides" of fireworks makes me concerned that Firefly may try to become a firework replacement though lobbying and legislation, which is total horse shit. Let the market decide if you have come up with a firework replacement or not. Focus on your own strengths, not your perceived weaknesses of a product that has been celebrated and enjoyed for OVER A THOUSAND YEARS.
I saw the intel drone show too at the olympics I think it was, I approached Intel and asked them 2 years ago could I do a story on them, and they declined. Also you have to talk about some negatives of a competing product to highlight the positives of another, that is simple selling.
@@WonderWorldYTC I agree, and it was mostly a feeling I got, but in case I'm right, I wanted to put that out there. The way that I would have expected the negatives of fireworks to come up is something like, "Drone shows are a great alternative when municipalities have issues with the cost/value/sound of fireworks." Or "When the dangers of fires make fireworks too dangerous, drone shows can save the day". Again... It was a gut feeling and I could certainly be wrong and I really hope I am! I think these drones are incredible and far more versatile than fireworks; I think there is plenty of room for these companies to succeed without using dirty tricks to criminalize a cherished tradition.
@@LogicBob they both can exist without impacting each other, I even show in the video at a football stadium they use both the drones & fireworks at the same time to enhance the display. fireworks are not going anywhe4re anytime soon, but they do release harmful toxins in the smoke, but if the EPA has done nothing about it yet, I doubt they ever will. being how fireworks are thousands of years old, they have had plenty of time to do something about it.
@@WonderWorldYTC Well, fireworks were already illegal in CA all last year, and illegal in many counties before that. There is no firework lobby and when the firework shows are mostly relegated yo state permission, if not use, it wouldn't take a whole lot of "convincing". Its not about the argument, its about who is pitching it and how much they put behind it. These kinda deals happen all the time... Some company like Firefly (or the big money that buys their tech from them) " invests a few million in having a nameless, faceless, unelected bureaucrat at the EPA write a line about a required ingredient in fireworks being a contributor to climate change, slip that into their next 2,000 page "rule change" and drones become the only game in town for the foreseeable future.

I would love to see these replace fireworks..
every year after the assorted fireworks event throughout the year I find dead birds in my garden ..
The poor things become terrified by them and fly out of the trees ,but it is night time and they can not see where they are going and dash themselves on branches .
My friends horses ,even though she keeps in the stables at night, still panic and twice have needed stitching up,one of her arabs reared up in the stable and hit is head ,fell over and in the fall broke his neck.
It would not be so bad if if was limited to the single tradition days for each special occasion ,but it goes on for weeks.
folks also le them of for birthdays etc..so they can not be planned for if you are trying to keep pets or horses safe.
I know drones are unlikely to replace them them, however limits should be imposed on what and when they can be used.
Wonderful, but good can always be used for evil if in wrong hands, and good job most birds don’t fly at night. Between the windmills, now these drones, i guess even more birds will be killed.

Boring without the explosion part
Many people who have drones and have been following drone stories for years...did not see "this" use of drones coming until this week July 1, 2022. Lightshows using hundreds of drones. The death of the fireworks industry overnite? We have constantly seen the stories about micro drones for security and surveillance. So...the question now is.....whats the next use of smallish drones?
