@@UnterogiZed777 I agree -- It's new, it's trendy and the ad companies are probably already selling ideas to their clients.

You are not very smart, are you?
You believe everything the TV tells you?

Paper straws are about reducing the amount of plastics we dump in the environment, not about reducing greenhouse gas emissions
Imagine going all the way to Vegas to see the Sphere, and some advertiser booked its logo to be displayed for the whole time you're there.
Good thing is they have time slots for advertising and art, so it won't be an ad all day long!
That's what I was afraid of, turning it into one giant advertisement.
It'd be cool if they would put the concert going on inside on the outside too.
This building is insane.
And it absolutely does not belong near where any residents live, besides a place like Las Vegas or the Center of Time Square
It just needs to be Sauron’s eye all day
Imagine going to Las Vegas to see the Sphere.

Was in Vegas Oct 1st. Stayed at Palazzo. Sphere right outside our window. What a fascinating show. It’s a WINNER.
I had a big smile on my face when they showed the globe, moon, basketball and eye. Then my smile went away when they said companies are thinking of using it as an advertising billboard too.
And they'll charge them an insane price to do it which will help pay for maintenance I guess.

This is probably one of the coolest things ive ever seen. it makes it feel like we are living in the future.
honestly if anyone had told myself from 2013 that we would have EV cars with 600+ hp being driven by average everyday people, that AI would be revolutionizing the technology industry and replacing a ton of the white collar workforce, and that we would have incredibly impressive structures like the Mega Sphere and The Line being built, I'd have said "yeah maybe not for another 50 years".

In a dangerous world it is wonderful to see magnificent things in the comfort of your home! Thank you Engineers for making this happen in America FIRST!
It's an unparalleled and extraordinary experience that's truly exceptional-unlike anything else in the world. This is Las Vegas and America consistently showcasing pioneering achievements in iconic landmarks and technology. Despite global efforts to replicate, the U.S. continually leads the way, always being the first in numerous endeavors, from my perspective.
I agree with the idea that this would only work in an area where the lights wouldn't be a nuisance to people living, but I also love the engineering of the building to what the electrical and computing side of it must be, so many outputs , I wonder what it takes to run all of it including the haptic feedback on the chairs to the individual audio speakers.
Can't even imagine the amount of wire management that would be required to keep things serviceable in case of repairs.
The strip is already a light and sound bonanza, people that live near it either get a slightly better deal on rent or they are used to it.

It's the definition of superficial, it's tons of bright light and wasted electricity. Las Vegas can do what it wants, but I surely hope this thing won't spread to too many other cities.
I used to play with LEDs as a kid and wonder how cool it would be to make a TV out of them. I thought if only they made blue LEDs and not just green, red, and yellow you could make RGB pixels. I graduated from college as an electrical engineer around the same time as blue LEDs were finally invented (garnering the inventors a Nobel Prize). Twenty years later LED TVs, flashlights, and light bulbs are standard and we have a gigantic spherical monument to LEDs in Las Vegas. So cool.
There's no sense. It's all Volta, Amperium and Ohms
Being an audiovisual engineer and designer this is fantastic. The graphics are on another world and would have taken many people to come together with their own engineering strengths and expertise for this to happen. The fact that it's water proof too is mind blowing.
I don't have any of the skills you or the engineers have. But I have something telling me that this sphere is going to be something that no one expects. Not even those who engineered and built it. I can't explain what I mean. Do you have any premonitions?

I live in London. A sphere is gonna be difficult to pull off here. It's not just gonna be seen by drivers and residents in East London, it's gonna be seen across the entire town. For it to work, it would have to be off a lot of the time. Which kinda defeats the purpose.
