I’ve been thinking about moving out to Grand Rapids from Southern Idaho to live with some family and get a Lawn Care company started. My current business is only 10 Clients and I just started last spring. I’ve been landscaping since I was 16. I’m 27 now and finally got away from working for someone else. Winters are hit and miss out here so my mother in law who has lived in MI her whole life thinks she could round me up enough cliental to get me started. I would have consistent year round work for the most part. It’s so tempting. The big incentive would be selling my current house for $500,000 and moving in to Moms Cabin rent free. Need advice. I’m putting a plow on my truck for my driveway. I have a 300’ gravel driveway. Should I get full trip or trip edge? I have heard trip edge gives you trouble on gravel.
School is usually cancelled when it snows? How’s that hard to believe. Also, it’s his prerogative if he skips school for the day anyways. He’s much better off growing his future than he is learning about the quadratic formula, fwiw. He should mention how much starting capital he had and where he got it from. I was lucky to have a cousin willing to give me 5k to start which was a HUGE part of starting my business but I had to have the lowest grade equipment but after 5 years have one of the nicest rigs in the area.

The DXT is nice but the XV2 is wider, comes standard with locking rams and doesn't chew through scrape edges like Boss products. Those spring actuated wings are a joke.
Sorry but this obviously does not add up Brian. A 16 year old does not have a 12 hour plow run he does with a new plow, newish truck and spreader. Stay in school kid and enjoy being 16. There is plenty of time for building a business and working hard once you are done school.
Everything adds up 100% buddy. Just because you don’t believe it doesn’t mean you have to discredit it. You clearly have no idea what these young kids with some solid encouragement and access to good knowledge can do these days. And it’s folks like you who poo poo on their dreams, which is the last thing someone at his age needs right now. They already get enough of that, and one kid breaks out and crushes it, and your rebuttal is “doesn’t add up”. Sad.

Just don't want the kid to over extend himself and ensure he is enjoying where he is in life and taking all he can from the teenage high school experience. While high school may not be everyone's thing there are lots of lessons to be learned there.

Nah that’s the standard blade for the plow. When you add a replacement edge the bolts mount to that edge.
