Not gonna lie... teared uo for a quick sec. when you said Thunda's gonna get sold. Crazy how fast time flies. But, the fleet looks FANTASTIC!! Blue Ovals, does it get any better?!?!? Hoping all is well guys, Dirty Jersey out!!
I started watching when you had the old f150, watched when you bought the 2017 and now you're about to trade it in! Crazy how time flies and business grows!
Something to consider is to keep the plow as back up. Put wires on maroon truck. Having a spare gives piece of mind. The night you are battling a monster storm every truck counts
I love my boss plows hands down! I run 4 boss 9’2” poly plows and tried a 8’2” steel. What’s your thoughts on the poly plows? Or have you not checked them out much? I love how they fling the snow off much better and also the fact they don’t rust and are very durable.
Brian, have watched your videos for a number of years, I had years of snow plowing and lawn maintenance in my past but never as successful as yourself. I like you had 3 trucks at one time but because of public liability insurance costs in Ontario Canada it made more sense to be a sub-contractor for major players. One of those companies doing at the time over 6 million dollars a season in the greater Toronto area on commercial properties, they did not do residential. I started with 8 foot Fisher power angling Plow but when Boss became available I had an 8-2 on if not in their second year their third what a fantastic piece of equipment, could pile snow like a small loader. However I watch some of these newbies that for the most part use it mainly as a V, it can straight blade and angle with the best. That 14 foot plow you have plows snow like a single or tandem axle dump truck back in the day. I got my skills plowing limited as they may have been from old guys who were around before power angling, they had to get out of the truck pull pins and kick the blade to the desired angle so they figured out the easy way. Please accept my apology for being so long winded but I find your videos straight forward and honest and wish you every success.
In northern Ontario I have a 8'2 dxt with the wings on a ram 2500. Even fully closed in wings you are still at about 9'-9'6" wide with the wings on. You can put the wings on either plow and you'll be over width on either plow. I will say there is a absolutely massive difference in the amount of snow the plow can carry with the wings vs without
I will also suggest for your steel plow you if there's nothing wrong with it mechanically you can buy just the wings sections and swap them to brand new stainless steel boards. Think they are 5-600$ a piece.
I won't plow without wings. It's like banging your head against a wall. Lol. An 8'6 western or snow ex will give you 10ft with wings so it's going to be 9ft max pulled in which is where I sit with my straight blade and I'm pretty comfortable going down the road.
Hey guys, crazy season up here in Toronto Ontario, your 14' unit is nice but when you have wet hezvy snow i couldn't imagine trying to windrow it over! I have western 8 1/2 & a 9 1/2 + have the wings. I could put the wings on the bigger plow & be 11 1/2 Man can that push snow! Bought both my plows for a lot cheaper then that monster 14' plow you got, each to there own, i love the fact i can interchange my equipment on either ford truck i have. I have the new f350 Godzilla but my go to monster truck is my baby 2000 ford f350 7..3 Diesel baby! Best truck ever! Nice shop/barn keep up the great work 👍
I have a 2011 Fisher 9.5 foot stainless V plow. It's held up great and looks good still. After this season I am going to have the wings sand blasted and painted. Where I am snow plowing is inconsistent and its not worth buying a new plow.
The Boss EXT is a great plow, but for the wet heavy snows it sucks. I have my angled and wings closed in and it just won't release snow. than you will have snow to the height of the plow and 4 feet infront of it just killing your truck. I've ripped the bolts out my corner and broke corner bracket. I've also ripped the main mounting Ears right off the bracket and had to replace the bracket. for light snows big parking lots or going around corners its great. you pretty much need to have 1 of each
Wings won't let you throw snow over banks quite as far but I'm all about stacking straight over the curb anyway. When it comes to efficiency you can't beat wings though. That's why you've got those albatross wings on your orange plow. 😂
Have a western mvp 8.6’ with a back drag edge. Either getting a wideout or a boss 9.2 v plow next time. Western still hasn’t come out with down pressure on there bigger plows. LOL none of them plow mud very well. They all show wear after seven years. Unless you only use them to film you tube.
Get the snow ex. Same company owns western/ fisher . Douglas dynamics. Standard down pressure and will work on your western mount with new receiver tubes.
From west Michigan here we have a 9.2 stainless on it’s second season, that’s paired with a 16 foot short iron. Our other truck has a 8.2 with wings but with a 8ft back blade. We did a 8.2 because with wings when you go to swing up there is no spill off. If the truck it’s on had a bigger back blade we would of went with a 9.2.
@@dguiley I'm sure they backdrag pretty well a lot of the time. The trouble starts when there's a big storm with lots of snow and wind packs the snow on top and drifts over and various other scenarios. That's when you NEED your plow to perform at it's very best and scrape down on the first pass to keep you moving through your route because it's already going to take longer than normal. If you don't have down force it's going to be a looooong day/night/day before you get back on top of things. Western has a solid plow with a great mounting system but they don't have down force. Snow Ex and Boss do.
Great idea! What they should do is make the wings foldable where you just pull a spring loaded pin and swing them forward to a 90 without having to remove the wing and stow it. Super easy to just add a hinge and an extra rib to enable that. Heck, if you have a welder and some basic fab skills it's a weekend diy project. 👌
Dope video homeboy 💯…I love my 9.2 Stainless DXT It’s my 1st plow & IT’S BEEN A BEAST!!! …Down force is amazing and it’s so versatile…I’m super happy with the BOSS equipment…The VBX8000 is unreal too💯🫡
Man if I were you I'd trade it for an 8'2 and put wings on it. Reason is the wings let you carry way more snow with each pass which speeds things up even when windrowing because you're leaving less snow on your lot to have to move on your next pass which equals wider cuts with a plow that's already wider to begin with AND doesn't need as much scoop to carry snow to begin with. It's a 3 way efficiency increase over a wingless plow. Wings wings wings my brotha. Buffalo wild wings. 😂🛫🕊
@@jamesnm21 I did my research homie and for me the 9.2 is better …an 8.6 with wings would be to wide for me …8.6 wit wings would probably be better if i were only doing big parking lots but I do a ton of long driveways and the 9.2 is perfect for my needs bro …I may look into a 8.6 for my next plow though thanks for the info 💯🫡
Do you guys keep the plows on all winter even if there is not snow forecasted? Normally I unhook it from the truck if there is no snow for a week plus.
Brian.... I am a certified Boss Snow Plow tech... Anyway, Boss Snow Plows sells a rattle can spray paint in Boss colors... Red and Black. Pick some up and make that plow look brand new!!! Best of luck to you, your family and team!! Later playa!!
You really need a paint tech to blast it and redo the whole front with a spray gun to get a brand new look. I've repainted old plows before with spray cans and it definitely looks good but not brand new.
I have a Western 8ft contractor series and its at least 14 years old and is perfect condition with original paint and powdercoating. You just have to take care of it, but if you can afford to buy new equipment all the time then thats cool too. I do 75 driveways and 2 parking lots around 9000 sq ft each. Im also using a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Hemi. Love following your channel. Have a great day!

Thanks man, and you’re not kidding. It’s been a wild few years
8 years on my fisher xv2 stainless 9.6 plow still going strong
For two man teams I agree extended cab all day. More compact, but still has room for 4. Also nice to have extra space for tool bags, lunch etc.
You gotta give the back blade swings a try. Can get so much done. I barely use my front plow.
I've got a 2012 stainless 9 6 fisher. Holding up great
Something to consider is to keep the plow as back up. Put wires on maroon truck. Having a spare gives piece of mind. The night you are battling a monster storm every truck counts
I run 9.2 boss with wings, they come off on the road to be compliant. With wings it's 11ft with control of spill off, killer set up

Get the snow ex version and get the down force option if you do a lot of back dragging.

Why another 9.2 vs the 8.2 with wings?
@@jamesnm21because with having a swing wing back blade you use the front blade way less and the wings become utilized way less.
try the wide out-plows its all I will use.
How do they do at backdragging if you have a mixed route of commercial but also have driveways?

Brain is there new enclosed trailer ?
You can also quickly remove one wing going between parking lots on 9'2 to stay legit.

Fisher Snow Plows are #1
I’m surprised you aren’t running a back drag with the boss on the front since you don’t run salters

Are trucks gas or diesel?
Look into the Artic Razorback
I still send wings with a 9’2 lol DOT can’t catch me😂😉
Wish i could an 8'6" Western MVP with Wideout hydraulic wings.
Nice trucks
Do a tire video next
I think you are missing bolts on the stainless steel plow
Only on a new edge do you mount to the existing blade with new bolts.

How long does your route take on average?
Would you consider a pull plow for any of your trucks?
Nope not while we own an F14. Eliminates the need for a back drag plow
Fisher Minute Mount 2. That's it. Period.
You would be able to push the a lot more with that 14 footer if you're putting about 900 pounds in the back of the truck
Why can’t you paint steel. I do it all the time. Stainless Is heavier and the frame still rusts over time
Rattle can the whole plow to get it all one color
Keep that truck and slap a spreader in it.
That fleet is starting to look pretty sexy 🔥🔥😎😎
Been meaning to ask , why don't you guys salt ?
salt destroys equipment FAST?
We have a great sub for now but we may look to take over that service in 2024-2025!
None of those Fisher plows!
$18500 ?? Yikes. Just get a Hunkier C Plow
Lazy. Paint the plow.
