    Mouthwatering! I prepare my tuna melt with Tillamook Cheddar on both bread slices. So indulgent!

    pro tip: you did well to start each side separate, but you should let the cheese get mostly melted before adding a cold ingredient (tuna, ham, peppers, etc.). Nice clean stove!

    people are so negative, this is how he does his and it looks good just add and delete what you like and don't like just looking at the comments I also got a number of additives and substitute spices that can be useful / I also added Monterey jack cheese on one side and smoke cheddar cheese on the other with a tomato added in I like variety, taste good too! Just do to your taste every individual is different remember that!

    • @tomstestkitchen
      @tomstestkitchen  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Gloria Jordan Yep, I say that all the time. If you don't like that much mayo, don't add as much. You are the one making it so you make it the way you want it.

    The only other thing some readers may enjoy is a slice of tomato in the tuna melt. This is what I do when making a grilled cheese sandwich. Just getting good nutrients into one's body. Never had a tuna melt before, but often see it on lunch menus at restaurants. Bravo

    • @tomstestkitchen
      @tomstestkitchen  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, even a simple grilled cheese sandwich can be elevated by adding a slice of ripe red tomato.

    Looks really good! Now you got me craving a tuna melt! I like to use a little bit of pickle relish mixed with the tuna and mayo and a slice of either American, Cheddar, or Monterey Jack/Pepper Jack cheese. But, to each his own. Great video, nonetheless. Thanks, Tom.

    Be aware that today cans of tuna contain 5 oz of tuna, not 7. A number of years ago, they reduced the tuna in a can to 6 oz. Then it went down to 5 oz (without lowering the price, of course!) About then, I quit buying tuna (which I love), and replaced it with mackerel. It tastes the same (they're the same family of fish), and costs a lot less. You just have to de-bone it. By the way, any sort of tuna salad is better if you add chopped ripe olives.

    • @djvista38
      @djvista38 8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I agree with everything you said until you mentioned olives, that is so wrong on so many levels
