- Welcome to this blood bowl focused episode of Optimal Game State. In our previous videos, we introduced the game and covered the Sevens format for quick games. In this video, we will delve deeper and explore the different types of teams in Bloodbowl. These teams can be broadly divided into four groups: Bash teams that focus on inflicting casualties, Finesse teams that rely on ball control, Hybrid teams that combine both aspects, and Stunty teams that prioritise fun over competitiveness.

Fantastic and helpful video. Will you make an updated video with gnomes?
Thanks Baz.
Great video.
This was super helpful information on each team, with insight in how many boxes to buy and what additions to take etc, it was just so hard to listen to, please do yourself a favour and get a decent mic 🙏🏻
Thank you for the video
Cool video ❤
Been thinking to start to play Blood Bowl, since I collect 40K and Sigmar, and I miss the NFL lol Thanks for video! Did not knew every team has a different way to play the game!
It really is a fantastic game! I have an intro video somewhere around here and if you want to get deeper check out @boneheadpodcast channel.
DoIt! The best skirmish game of them all, imo
Awesome. Very informative. Much thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was truly well done. Thanks. Will you do an additional clip to cover the added teams such as Vampire etc.?
That's a good idea! I struggle with working out what to do for Bloodbowl as theBoneHeadPodcast does such a great job already! XD
@@optimalgamestateBonehead Ben is amazing. This video is really good.
I really want a stunty tzeentch pink/blue/crimson horror team to be a thing
And a slaneesh team - and agile chaos team that has mutations would be cool
Nice!!
No Chaos Renegades?
Good vidéo, but for me Dark elves and amazon are more like hybride than finesse team.
Yeah, it's a valid criticism. Necro have also been mentioned. Hopefully those who know enough to poke holes already know what they're doing 😁
Not sure how an all ag 4 team without a big guy qualifies as a hybrid team. Only thing they miss is passing.
@@FoulPet since making this I did find a quite interesting analysis of the groupings gsverhoeven.github.io/post/blood-bowl-cluster-heatmap/
@@optimalgamestate Nice summary.
Do you think races would be played differently at different team values. Some teams might change tactics after getting a few skill-ups.
@@FoulPet honestly, I'm not sure. I don't have enough experience to know. I suspect most teams focus on what they're already good at. So based on that, my assumption is that the general style remains even if the new skills open up new options. I'll be thinking of this when I'm looking at bbtactics.com/ or listening to the Bonehead podcast next!
I like the whole "box" aspect of the video but Blood Bowl is really open to 3d printing and I cannot recommend it enough for a league to have at least one 3d printer in their group. Some of the teams cant even be played without it sadly.
The third party miniature scene for bloodbowl is pretty amazing, probably because small model companies were supporting BB when GW weren't. You're right about the 3d printing, I'm always stunned to see the models on @theboneheadpodcast
Absolutely the way to go. They ask way to much for these boxes. If you buy a stl for $3 you can print out an army for a few $$.
@@optimalgamestateGW has to start selling blister packs again. You shouldn't have to buy a whole box to because the box has only 2 of 4 positional.
In 2013 I bought a pro elf team that had 2T 2B 2C 8L and the blitzers looked a lot like linemen. So I bought 2 blister packs 1 with 2 wood elf wardancers (different models) that I used for my blitzers and the other with 2 catchers. I eliminated the problem of blitzers looking like linemen, have maximum of all positional, and 18 players. Obviously GW had box of 14 and would sell the 2 missing catchers as an upsell. I bought the wardancers to make them special
Best part - the team can build a max position roster with Wood, Union and High elves.
Nurgl3 control not bash
WHERE ARE THEM CHAOS DWARVES, HASHUT, VORGRUND, ZHARR NAGGRUND!
