Thank you Shana for using & reviewing the large graphite sticks. I've never drawn with such large graphite sticks and was wondering how they could be used. You created an amazing black and white piece with them. Woo Hoo♥

What a great painting! I’ve had great luck with all the Pacific Arc products I’ve bought- their fineliners have a tip that seems to hold up better than my microns. Blick carries some of their tools, so I figure they are a decent company. I bought the extra dark set of sticks a few months ago after you first got them, they do put down a ton of graphite. After your last graphite video, I dug out all my pencils and lead holders and WS graphite and played around. I had a lot of fun, and finally have found a use for my Derwent WC pencils that are somewhat disappointing- they make a great graphite tinted paint when scribbled with WS graphite on the CdA palette. And WS graphite mixed with inktense! Or layered with inktense. Can get some wonderful effects. I also pulled out my Kuretake Fluid graphite, which I had never even opened. Boy, that stuff is weird! But neat. I’m not sure that it gives watercolor effects much different than say, a tin of the Artgraf WS, but this is a graphite paste in an synthetic resin- it’s really thick and goopy. it can be mixed with water soluble media like watercolor and gouache, although they recommend checking compatibility. It will reactivate with water, you can put some on your palette and reactivate it after it dries. Used as a paste, it’s three dimensional and can be polished to shine. I painted some fall leaves and dropped in some and got the most realistic decay spots ever. It will be fantastic for rocks. I think I will try it with gouache next to see what happens.

Ooh, I'm going to have to play around with layering water-soluble graphite and Inktense. That sounds like it could be a really cool combination!
I didn't know Pacific Arc had fineliners. Are they waterproof too? I'm always looking for good waterproof fineliners!
I am definitely curious about the Kuretake liquid graphite..it seems like it would be strange, but I'm intrigued. I have it on my wishlist on Amazon but have yet to actually buy it. But it seems so interesting to me!
I'm glad to hear that my recent video inspired you to play around with some of the supplies you have on hand. I love it when I can help others get into the creative mood! Thank you for watching!

I’m so glad you made this video! I have one Lyra water soluble graphite stick in 2B. I swatched it and then put it away 🫣. Whenever I remember it’s existence I wonder how to use it. You’ve given me inspiration. Love the painting. Thank you!

I love the picture you created! I would love to see you bring them out again for another TH-cam video. Yes! I love water soluble graphite products. I don't have any of the sticks you swatched. I used to have a Lyra stick, but don't have it anymore. However, I recently saw another TH-cam artist bring out one to use and was reminded how much I used to love that medium. So I will be checking out the brand you swatched, the Lyras, and also check to see if Art Graf makes any.water soluble graphite sticks. Thanks for sharing your find🙏🙏🙏

Thank you! Water soluble graphite is so much fun! These were fantastic to work with! I have some sticks from Art Graf, but they are more squared off. They aren't crayon shaped like these, more like a chunky pastel shape. I only have like one or two, though, and I haven't used them much. I need to do that soon. I love Art Graf products! Thanks for watching!!

Your painting came out beautiful Shana. You even managed to incorporate light sparkling over the centre of the water. I’m not surprised at all with how delisted you are with the product. I had to toddle off and check which sticks I had, and they’re the Lyra ones. I do hope they are as versatile as the Pacific Art ones. Stickers would look wonderful imho. When you first appeared on screen, I wondered if you had been feeling ok, as your usual vim and vigour seemed to have dulled. However, at the end, you seemed right back to your usual self. Wonderful video, painting and an excellent review. I suspect the company will wonder why they suddenly have a run on their product! 😊👏🏻🎨🖌️👩🏻‍🎨

Anita, you are a true community member here. The fact that you picked up on the fact that I wasn't feeling well shows how well you have gotten to know me through my content over time. I actually was in the throws of a 3 day long migraine when I filmed my intro. I tried to be chipper, but I did wonder if anyone would notice. You make me feel seen, and I appreciate you.
I am curious about the Lyra ones myself, so when you get the chance to play around with them more, let me know what you think of them! As always, thanks for watching. 💖💕

I liked this piece a lot! The tips on how you were doing the water were great, and of course the sky turned out great too. I never heard of this brand either, I have 1 of the Lyras and I think it's 8 or 9B, but I like it. I may have to check these out for a better range of darkness for a good price.
