This week Lee shows us how to figure 8, this will help overall with turns, clutch control and rear brake usage. For more details go to www.mxtv.com.au .
This was a great tech tip when I first started riding my parent s had 1.5 acre lot and had a good 187 foot track but there were trees scattered all about the yard and I used to practice seeing how many different way I could get around the trees I go around a tree over here and another left then a right and as soon as I would get around one tree I would instantly look for the next tree and make a left and the next time I would make a right and I'd just keep switching it back and fourth it really make u good, because I would purposely try and wait as long as possible to decide which way around the tree I was gonna go just to make a new line thru the turn so it was never the same arc giving me the chance to force myself into the perfect body position at the second so I would not get lazy on the bike, its kinda figure of a 58s instead of just eight.my yard was basically flat so I had to get creative...then I get bored I go ride in the woods...luckily that was close 1000 feet....THANKS....this the basis for MX if u can't do turns well or be comfortable in rights and lefts you will have a rough time racing but do this good and you love being at a track, compared to anywhere else.
@Evilcheeseeater depends on the corner, you usually brake before you need to put your foot down, by the time your foot down you should be beginning to accelerate
What are the dimensions for a good size figure 8 track? We don't have a huge area to do it, currently have a 20 foot circle track, can we make it smaller than the 20 foot or should we just add the second circle to the current circle track we have.
