When I was a single mom (living on a tight budget) I gave my parents a card with the twelve months and dessert they would get on the first of every one. All twelve different and homemade. They still say it was the best gift ever

I love the idea of gifting a pass to a Farm/activity centre for children who probably have too many toys to play with. Days out can be expensive for parents so I’m sure they appreciate it as much as the children
One of the best gifts my daughter ever received was an annual pass to the aquarium 😁, we loved it, she learnt so much, we have such fantastic memories of going to the aquarium 🐧🐟🐠🐡🐙🦀👍👍👍😁😁😁
Those days out are SO expensive sometimes!
Spa treatment is lovely idea as we often see it as too indulgent to by ourself. A card with a promise of a lunch/afternoon tea/coffee & cake somewhere special is lovely and you get to spend time together and create memories. I think many of us feel we need to hand over a wrapped gift. Suppose you could always put the voucher in a beautifully wrapped box with tissue

Gentle reminder to myself and all...when gifting, think about the potential waste that will occur and how it will impact the environment. So choose wisely what we want to gift to others.
Gifting is a sign of love and generousity to ppl we care about. We should also extend this feelings to the planet. It is the the gift that we will ultimately leave behinfld for future generations.

I love thoughtful, useful gifts - it takes time to consider the likes and dislikes of the person we are gifting items too. We have given the coffee lover a variety of coffee to sample and that went over really well.
Great video! I always request consumables as well. Tea, coffee, wine, cheese (yes, a big chunk of smelly French cheese is a great present, in my opinion!), beeswax candles, and luxury lip balm are all lovely gifts that I never tire of.
Oh yeah l, I can get behind on the cheese!
I also consider beeswax candles as a really nice gift 👍😊 they are really something special ⭐️

I'm so fortunate that our family have agreed not to exchange gifts for the past few Christmasses. Makes Christmas a lot less stressful. ETA: I only buy for my cats. This year they're getting fancy bowls and will be filled with fish on Christmas day

Great ideas! The lavender squares make a nice spot to set a hot cup of tea on. Or fill with cinnamon for a scented trivet.

Thoughtful and beautiful gift ideas Benita 💚 I also gift mainly consumables - specialty items the recipient will appreciate, such as wine, chocolates, biscuits, honey, candles, hand creme...and flowers. Lovely video as usual. If you add rice to the lavender bags they become a weighted bag. Like for relaxing or headaches , just make them longer. Or use brown rice, so it can be heated in the microwave.

Mini was (and still is) tiny and we were only getting her. They asked if I could take her brother who wasn’t claimed for too, so I did spur of the moment. So he was our Bonus!😊

Another great video. I prefer 'experiences' over 'stuff', having downsized two years ago and trying to keep our current home from being cluttered. Pedicures, massages, cafe meals, cinema tickets and so on are some of my favourites. We all have what We need- spending time with my friends is more important to me these days. Hi from Australia.

Why not give „Time“ ? I gift 🎁 time to my mother ( who lives alone) a tip together, a walk over the markets , just be with her (we live 300km apart and I work full time) On the receiving end: I don’t like random gifts that I am often thoughtlessly given. I try to be kind of minimalist and have given away a lot of things. And I have no interest in accumulating stuff again. Consumables yes! Candles, soap, flowers, food…. Or gift cards instead of money. I give and like to receive. My homemade bathbombs are liked by every recipient and my individually decorated candles 🕯 are always appreciated.

I love lip balms and candles, I even dress candles with rose petals glitter and essential oils and gift them. Im definitely a fan of foodie gifts too or handmade. I also have a wax stamp and dried flowers to make my gifts look extra pretty. 🎄❄️🎄❄️🎄❄️🎄❄️🎄❄️🎄
Really enjoyed this. Ugly gifts weigh me down, I have to deal with it without having a big impact on the environment, so time consuming and draining. I too prefer money, white candles, or eatable gifts.

My dad is very much a minimalist and doesnt like getting gifts that clutter up his flat - my boyfriend and I decided to pay an Organisation to plant a tree in His Name. You get a Gift certificat that you can either receive printed out on super nice paper or - even more minimal - digital! I am sure he will love it!

One Christmas I have purchased charity cards as one of the gifts, I think I helped to buy chock and goat for the community. Enjoying watching your ideas for gifts. I also like practical and thoughtful presents.

I love the ideas, I just can't picture Benita having scraps of very colorful graphic fabric around just waiting to be used.
I do though! These are really expensive fabrics and I love to craft so I’ve saved the scraps. Keep what you use, need and love.

Great video! I love to receive little samples (like the adventer calendars) as a way to try multiple items without wasting so much money if then I don t really them.
I immediately spotted your son's armchair and thought, "Wow, I want that" and then you said it was expensive and I thought, OF COURSE it is----I always want the expensive stuff, even when I don't know it's expensive!!!

I also love to give gifts more than to receive them. It's funny but I love taper candles but they're not very popular here. Everyone gives scented candles (wide & 2-3 wicks). I always include food & drink items because it's a season for sharing. Those TV screen saver images are a great idea, I need to include those for next year.
I wish there was an unscented wood wick candle!
