If she would have spoken to him about it, he just would have made more of an effort to cover his tracks. She obviously had some serious concerns and rightly so. A spouse knows things about a person that cant specifically be put into words. Intuition maybe?

The problem is, the only cases we will ever hear about are cases where someone put spyware on the computer and found something terrible. If the person put spyware on the computer and found that the person was not up to anything, it would probably never make it to a youtube video. This means we are getting a distorted view of how often someone's fears turn out to be justified. I agree with Dr Grande that in general, if you have an issue with your spouse, you should discuss it with them. Imagine how you would feel if your spouse put spyware on your computer because they suspected you of having an affair. You would probably feel violated, and the trust of the relationship would be damaged. Just my opinion.

@@3_up_moon I guess it comes down to a question of probabilities. I am assuming that most of the time when you are wondering about your spouse, they are not a pedophile. How suspicious do you have to be to jump right to spyware? Maybe I just am just a trusting person. Actually, I didn't even know it was legal to put spyware on someone's computer. I would think you could get in trouble for that.

Oh, Stone Phillips did a long interview with Jeffrey Dahmer and his dad several years ago. Havent seen Stone anywhere for a while. He's probably went into hiding after that interview!
Dahmer's dad was THE most passive, soft-spoken man I've ever seen.
What was freaky, his dad said he started having extremely violent dreams when he was about 12, and still had them. Then he ends up with a son that's a cannibal! There's something genetic there.
It looked like they were in a warehouse, probably a secret location. Poor Stone, he seems like such a lovely person. As they were leaving, Dahmer casually points to a case about 12" cubed with a handle and says, "That"s like the case I would put the heads in." I'm speculating the wife had a reason for not wanting to confront him and going straight to Spyware. Maybe he had not been honest in the past or had been violent or aggressive in the past and she didn't want to bring it up if it turned out to be nothing.
Or worse, if it turned out to be true.
I agree. I don’t agree with Dr. Grande on this point, the H could have become more devious if not more deviant if he thought his wife was suspicious.
Smart move on her part. Police would have been useless and perhaps make matters worse if she had concerns without hard evidence to back it up.
I don't think his wife putting spyware was out of line. She likely did bring up her concerns of infidelity, and was brushed off, because of his status as a trusted person in society.
Good thing she did that... call it women's intuition, or simply someone knows when something isn't right with their partner/relationship...

In this Video Dr. Grande is displaying two of his well known plants. Just a reminder, In this comment I won't be doing any taxonomic diagnosis on any of these plants, just speculating on what type of plants Dr. Grande could be displaying in a video such as this. So for the first plant we see it's a more recent addition to the line up. Its the smaller of the two plants and it is often referred to commercially as a "money plant" or "money tree plant". This is actually a type of Ficus called _Pachira aquatica_ . While this plant may look like one small tree, it is actually multiple small plants that have been braided together over time starting when the plants were very young and thin. The Second plant on display is one of Dr Grands largest and most striking plants in his collection. This looks to be some type of Spineless Yucca. There are several types of Yucca grown as an indoor house plant, however most common these days is _Yucca elephantipes_ . These are often times started out as clones then further propagated by cuttings. This then allows a new node to push out of the stem stalk giving the plant its interesting "cut off" top feature.

I once got stung about 50 times by hornets. My ears, eyes, nose and throat were almost swollen shut by the time I got to the hospital. I would say a flamethrower should always be the first defense against those flying monsters.

To be honest, if my partner was on an internet site about murder, torture, cannibalism, I'd probably go with the spywear. Contfronting them may just lead to A : being eaten or
B: they cover their online tracks more thoroughly in future. And I could get eaten there anyway after they have eaten some other people first. It is most definitely a red flag.

your partner might be actually. or someone you know. if you know at least 50 people one of them has a snuff fantasy most likely and looks at material online. don't think you're "safe" because you don't know who they are, yet. the issue isn't the fantasies, these people don't want to act on them or have any urges to do so. the problem is the presence of sociopaths who are serious and have violent urges, just as it always is.
Can you please do a video on professional covert narcissists ? Ie: doctors, police, psychiatrists etc. how do people protect themselves from potential harm while in the care of these people?

I have a comment about the wife installing spyware. I understand your viewpoint as a psychologist and urging communication first. However, as a former attorney with attorney friends who were criminal attorneys for a major city, in many situations, the first time a female partner raises serious issues, is the last time. She may be cowed by physically abuse or she may even be killed. I don't have an issue with it the software. It also gives her evidence in case she needs to see an attorney or the authorities - which is another problem - women being told that the behavior is 'OK,' and come back when things get serious. My thoughts. Not making a diagnosis.

When you strip the meat off of this case and get down to the bare bones, Valle was dealing with a lot of raw emotion, which was making him sit around and stew over it for a while until he found this chat room, and got a taste of his fantasies. It was there that he and his amateur chef friends dreamed of ladies that were real dishes, until they really got cooking. Since there was no actual conspiracy and no action, there can be no conviction, unless of course the thought police take over as it appears they are, in which case his goose is cooked.
