    Open Marriage - the dumbest pickup line I ever heard.

    • @maneckineckbeard1749
      @maneckineckbeard1749 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      When I was 19, an incredibly creepy, smarmy, smooth-talking 40-ish guy in a suit approached me in a nightclub and said, "My wife would like me to buy you a drink. And maybe we can all get to know each other better." Then he nodded towards a woman (also wearing a suit & looking SO out of place!) seated at the bar, and she leered & winked at me.
      I was so freaked out that I grabbed my friend and took off. But I'm living proof that that pickup line has been in use for awhile, at least!
      Anyhow, I guess actual open marriages do actually exist, at least based on that experience? Different strokes for different folks, as they say...but I also can only hope other open couples have a less serial-killer predator vibe than those two!
      (Interestingly, I hadn't even heard of "American Psycho" at the time, but looking back that's *exactly* the vibe he gave off!"

    In this video it looks like Dr Grande is displaying three of his plants. They are _Pachira aquatica_ , _Euphorbia trigona_ and the cactus with the purple top looks to be in the Genus _Mammillaria_ I can't tell which species without a further inspection. I would advise Dr. Grande to inspect this cactus' flower closely. This cactus when sold commercially often will have an artificial flower glued to its top. Given its deep purple color I suspect its a fake. While glueing a fake flower to the top is ok in the short term, if he intends to keep this cactus long term he should remove it. Cacti grow from the top upward and outward and having a glued on flower can slow and sometimes completely inhibit new growth.

    This is not intended to be part of an interesting dialog about the video, but simply a word of appreciation for this channel. Like many of your viewers, I deeply appreciate your calm, centered story telling, vast knowledge of the ephemeral field of psychology, and your pointed and restrained humor. I find yours a voice of sanity in the chaotic world of 2020-2021. I only discovered your work a few days ago and I want to say thank you. I also like your simple, unpretentious setting. However I don't care much for the "used brick" background, mainly because it takes the focus away from your expressive, intelligent face and the graphics. I liked the ivory background much better. It is less distracting. Just one opinion.

    • @unitedfools3493
      @unitedfools3493 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      While you're are using words like "nice" and "reasonable" the justice system is actually perverted to the point of being worse than the criminality it supposedly prevents. For example death sentence cases involve the highest level of scrutiny that our system offers and yet new DNA evidence technology has revealed wrongful conviction rates of 25%. One in four people are being put to death by the state after being wrongfully found guilty. That is so, so far away from "better 1,000 guilty people walk free than one innocent person go behind bars" which is the supposed point of "reasonable doubt".
      The justice system still relies on completely unreliable evidence such as human memory and police officer's magical memories. Many, but not all, branches of forensic science are actually baseless pseudo-science invented to create evidence including fingerprinting, bite mark analysis, blood spatter and many others.

    Such a sad story all around. The wife should have just left her POS husband. My question is why the wife ONLY wanted to hurt Heather. Her husband was the one who betrayed her and destroyed their family. Yeah Heather wasn't a perfect angel (like everyone makes her out to be) but she didn't deserve to die and she has a lot less blame on her conscience than the husband does. What he did was way worse because it was HIS family he willingly destroyed. Why didn't the wife want to torture him instead of Heather? And why did this guy MURDER his mistress to please his wife?!??? He cheated on his wife again and again and again so he can't have actually loved his wife. So why did he go along with this? Why did he literally KILL someone to keep his wife from leaving him when he clearly wasn't happy in his marriage anyway? This whole story is so desperately sad and f**ked up. I feel terrible for Heather's family. Heather will always be remembered as the girl who was murdered for being a homewrecker and I'm sure that hurts her family badly. I'm glad her family and Heather got justice but it will never be enough.

      Interesting question.
      I've heard of her extraordinary memory a few years ago.
      Humans have many, many spectacular abilities but remain latent in their psyce's, because of a lack of spritual development or what some call a shift in conciousness.
      ( higher conciousness)
      Mrs. Henner simply has access to her deep sub-concious mind.

    Heather might have made some bad choices, but I see a lot of victim-blaming in her case (not in this comment section but in general) and it's completely uncalled for. The Moorers couldn't be more unsavory if they tried, between full-of-himself Sidney and rageaholic territorial control freak Tammy....It's nice to see a video that keeps it all in perspective. The notion that a victim of murder "deserved it" for acting in sexually less-than-desirable ways is beyond ludicrous.

      I agree. It's even worse when you look at their ages. Heather was just barely out of her teens. People her age are kind of known for making some bad decisions. I know I dated my fair share of guys at 20 who now make me wonder what the hell I was thinking, lol. Heather would probably think the same way of Sidney today. But they were in their late 30s/early 40s when this happened---essentially twice her age. It makes sense that Heather may not have had the maturity and experience to see this clearly, but what's their excuse?
      Though I do have to admit, I always chuckle when I see Tammy's police interrogation video and she's bragging to the detective that everybody thinks that she was also 20. I mean, sure, if she means 20 years past her prime. Jesus Christ. The egos on those two are ridiculous.

      I agree. we ndon't know what she grew up learning from family that messed her up emotionally when it came to relationships and no one deserves to die for poor judgment. It's sad this happened to her.
