I'm a few years younger than Jamie Thomas, but I remember watching his part in Toy Machine's "Welcome to Hell" video when I was a teenager. There were many good skaters during that era and the video as a whole is legendary, but his skating in that video was so groundbreaking. It is impossible to describe how much influence it had on so many 90's kids. While the video initially gained notoriety because of all the busts at the end, it was Jamie's segment that was truly mind-blowing at the time.
As someone who went the route of nihilism and degeneracy that was a common ethos of the skater culture of that time, it's pretty amazing to see someone as big as Jamie Thomas coming to Faith. With that said, I have to recommend reading "Nihilism: The Root of the Revolution of the Modern Age" by Fr. Seraphim Rose, "On the Incarnation" by St. Athanasius the Great, and finding Fr. Josiah Trenham on TH-cam. Also, find a local Orthodox parish and attend a Vespers and/or Divine Liturgy to find the full Truth, beauty, and divinity of Christ in our midst, as has been the case for the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Orthodox Church for almost 2,000 years! May God grant you many years!

Gentlemen this was such a awesome conversation,I also felt apart of it.this is real talk, truth!!! It's amazing to see two legendary people so on fire for God.pls keep up the good work,I basically grew up with u guys from the 90's,I met Jamie in South Africa in 97, & to see so many legendary skateboarder doing the Almighty's work is what is truely legendary.& to knew the challenges your'll have faced is so relatable, even though on different levels,u guys deserve & worked hard to get to where u are, don't ever forget that,it's amazing to see y'all now pushing other boundaries, skateboarding is a big part of our lives, & can sometimes take precedence over everything else, but when we realise how big God is, we realise how small skateboarding is, but look what great things God is doing thru peeps like you,I always believed God loves Skateboarding, the lessons u learn from it, is life changing,it as also gone thru some dark days & bad influence so it takes guys like you to set the record straight.my kids will definitely watch this & I will definitely share this...the world needs to hear the truth..this as so much impact...God bless you guys...I salute you 💕🙌✝️

That episode is plain beautiful. What an interesting storyline and more importantly what a substantial message: Jesus loves you and cant wait to be part of your life. I am so happy for Jamie to get where he is now. What i also liked: Jamie confessing that zero is not a christian company. I've been wondering since 2000 how that company can be run by a christian, also i loked the brand, it always seemed to be kind of grim/dark to me...

  • @armin38822
    @armin38822 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I find it so interesting when I look at how much work and effort Jamie put into the Black Boy thing with Zero and rest of the companies and then you compare it to something like Baker where Andrew did care but not that much and in 2021 Baker is doing much better. Kids will always like the brand that care a little less. Even to this day it seems like Andrew makes things so simple for himself. Hang out with my dather, eat healthy, work out a little bit but most importantly skate. Skate in the streets and stay connected to what you really love. By simply doing that, that's why he's on Vans these days

Thank you for sharing this with us. God's goodness does lead us to repentance (Romans 2:4) by the power and grace He has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light (1Peter 2:9-10). For those that are struggling, for those that are tired of fighting, for those that are hopeless, and for those that feel you have gone too far or feel that God won't accept you, I tell you the truth, God Loves you. Jeremiah 31:3 says, "The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." He demonstrated His love toward us by giving us His Only Begotten Son, to die for our sins. He payed the price for our iniquity. The debt has been paid. Hallelujah! Only through Christ may we have the forgiveness of sins, for He is the way, the truth, and the life, and the only way that we can have reconciliation with God (John 14:6). Christ promises this, "all that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" (John 6:37). I appeal to anyone who is reading this, to pray and ask God to reveal Himself to you, to ask Him to forgive you of your sins, and ask God to lead you according to His purpose, and to change you into the person He wills for you to be, and I promise you that if you ask in Jesus name, your life will never be the same again. Praise be to God and unto the Lamb who taketh away the sin of the world.
    Promises of God:
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find REST unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
    - Matthew 11:28-30
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
    -John 3:16
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
    -1 John 1:9
"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."
    -1 John 2:1
"Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He retaineth not His anger for ever, because He delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, He will have compassion upon us: He will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea."
    -Micah 7:18-19
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
    -John 8:32
"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who have Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."

As we say everything in christianity that is right is right but humans and the devil are to blame for everything wrong and you see that everywhere christianity is so split up its mindboggling your religion essentially broke up in to three major parts and a bunch of smaller ones the three largest confessions dont get along at all not to mention individuals that do whatever they want yet call themselves priests and are fully supported by their side

But God spoke into our world, and demonstrated things over time proving Who He is and sharing with us His plan. We can hear that and believe, or reject. Hopefully you believe. God Bless you. †
