Nice Job. To optimize your oil change you could. ---Important.--- First get the engine warm. 1. Remove oil plug. 2. Remove the oil cap 3. Remove the oilfilter 4. Do your oilfilter thing while everything is open. And reassemble. It will empty your engine much more from the old oil.
Nice. Love your no bullshit approach to doing things. I just got an 06 C280 and will change the oil/filter, air filter, fuel filter and plugs. It's my first German car and I'm used to Japanese tin boxes but these Benzes don't seem too daunting to maintain.
It depends on which steering wheel you have. Early or late production model. Early has four buttons and late has two. If you have the early one..then you get to menus with the bottom left button. If you have the late production steering wheel then the button on the left will get you to the reset menu. Good luck!
Hey Carlos I have this same exact car except in white and one day while driving I noticed that my tachometer was all the way between 5 and 6( red) but I wasnt driving very fast maybe 35-40 mph... I looked under my hood and saw that my passenger side air intake hose was ripped in two. I replaced both driver and passenger hose yet nothing change. fyi i am 400 miles past my service B but the car is is phenomenal condition. My question is now what should I do?
Erradi, I used car ramps that you can buy from most auto parts stores. I also used a automotive floor jack and a pair of good safety stands. I also recommend safety glasses. Buy a good set of basic hand tools and you should be good to go. Good luck!
B service also includes a brake system flush which is pretty important and you seem to have conveniently left that part out. Aside from actually changing the air filters instead of inspecting them, you actually performed an A service.
The brake system flush is overrated. That has to one of the biggest scams the dealers sell to the public. It's best to do the brake system flush when you do a brake job. The "B" service is nothing more than a glorified "A" service.

to my understanding you filled the oil till the hole on the dipstick and actually that is the minimum OIL mark and under that the message Oil Low will appear the best thing is to fill it up to a 1mm under the max arrow. and if anyone is confused ALL the W220 engines take 8Liters of 0-40 Oil Even the 280 and 320
Well considering that the MB V6 motor is essentially an MB V8 with 2 cylinders chopped off and the M272 motor in the C280/300/350 are used in V6 powered S Classes in Europe under the hood work will be relatively the same all across the board. The same goes for the brakes and some suspension components. As for the airmatic that's a whole different story but most MBs don't have that.
Would draining the oil from the pan BEFORE removing the filter housing and cartridge be a bad thing? As long as you remember to re install and tighten the drain plug I would think drain oil from pan first is better. My logic is when the oil drain plug is removed MORE of the older oil would be drained.

Replacing air filter when you need it, like this car is something you should always do anyway. I do believe Cabin dust/combination filter replacement fall under car engine air filter.

That is not the oil dipstick. That's the transmission fluid dipstick. That's why the "oil" looks red. To check the oil level. You have to use the dashboard controls.
the transmission dipstick is in the back of the engine- this video shows the correct oil dipstick indicator- newer models don't have a dipstick- it's all computer monitored and you can see the reading on the dash
They do a whole lot more than this guys..... the give you a multiple page sheet with bullet points of what they went over, they tediously inspect the engine for wear and give you a list of problems and how much they would charge to fix them, which you can then take to a cheaper euro mechanic and save a whole lot of money. Its only $400 for the b service.
Obviously you were not listening to the video. When you say "they tediously inspect the engine for wear" is not true. There is no way of telling engine wear without disassembling the engine. This sheet of paper that you say they give you is called a multipoint inspection sheet. That's given to you so that they can make more money from you and also to make you feel like you're getting your money's worth. Once again, I'll say it again, this is nothing but a glorified oil change with an inspection. Remember this, they don't tedious anything. They are there to make money.

Yes Brett, use 5W-40 synthetic oil.
Yes, you should be able to buy the filters from most auto stores.
Read previous post please, I'm not particularly sure what your particular model uses so if you have access to your service manual use that good luck.
