Apologies if the mouth sounds are annoying. I'm going to try and learn how to edit them out better. The easy solution is to stay further away from the mic, but that increases the echo from my room. I'll try and improve for next time!
Hey not sure of this is applicable but if you have an RTX card not sure which models count I know 30+ plus do but you could potentially use RTX voice to help with some of the echo and noises. Not sure how well itd work but an idea nonetheless. Personally it doesn’t bother me but thought I’d offer a solution. Ignore me if it’s irrelevant or out of place 😅
You should do a collab with Byf on the topic of the Gardner potentially being revealed in Final Shape! Also, learning more about the Winnower in the next saga, feels like a no brainer to me. To me, the Winnower and Gardner have always felt like siblings: a brother, and a sister. But like siblings, they hadn’t been able to agree on much of anything. So it begs the question: where is the Winnower?
The collectors edition lore basically has a story of someone who is terraformer pilot from the witnesses precursor species. That person basically decided to use extra cargo space for traveler like tech to terraform to how they see fit. That person also does not agree with the great merging of their species and would rather create. Now this could be a parallel story to the Gardner/ winnower story or this solo person could have become the adversary to the witness that basically become deified by obsession. If they are merged with the witness then the witness is a species made whole. That’s just my tinfoil theory
The statue is a representation of the darkness and light together I believe or the darkness and light together is what gives the figure underneath its “final shape”. The two separate don’t create these, but the Witness obviously has plans to control both so I assume that’s what the final shape is. Without it, both don’t have a shape. Can’t explain it well, but the “veil” is the thing over the figure underneath but there is no figure underneath so the veil is there to give it the shape.
Maybe the female voice we hear in the trailer is the Gardener's voice, and, after we defeat the Witness, the Gardener will reveal to us the existence of the Winnower. I think the Witness is some sort of avatar of the Winnower, made by influence of the Veil, since both Witness race and Maya's crew were influenced in a similar way by the Veil.
The first time I saw the statues and heard the female presenting voice talking about our guardian and using the light my immediate thoughts shot to the gardener. I truly thought the story will involve something to do with us being sort of grey users. And especially with the links to previous bungie games. With us sort of being the only ones who have that gift. Akin to something like us being reclaimers in Halo. And potentially us fixing everything akin to the ending of Durandal. And I’m happy to see that my own thoughts as well as yours are becoming true. Glad to see the eternal hero theory playing out and seeing some classic bungie storytelling and a return to the original ideas for the game.
Not sure I'm ready to decide which I think the statues represent yet, but yeah I think this is the moment. The shot of the statue-shaped hole in the wall followed by the shot of it surrounded by spikes and the withered tree made me certain we're about to get an answer. It's like a direct tease to those of us looking for the signs and clues; "something is missing here, isn't it?" The absence has always been the point.
Unrelated, but the fact that Bungie gave away something as big as the pasts of the precursors in the collector's edition makes me wonder what else they have in store *cough* the gardener *cough* the winnower *cough*
lately it's given me the vibe they might pull a Hydaelyn and make the "Gardener" someone who defected from the Witness's species and didn't merge with them, or another Witness like entity who is the merging of another species who supports the light, though there are some holes with my idea they would have to fill, like the Traveler existing and stuff before the Witness and such, so what was it before? but just a little theory that the Witness is essentially an Ascian to the Traveler.
wasn't there a character from collector's edition who was part of the Witness race, but they didn't share their ideals and didn't want to merge so they left? Maybe they were hiding inside the Traveler all this time and the Witness pursued them because it needed them to create the Final Shape. "Your pale heart holds the key" and the key is that precursor who run away 🤔
The merging of minds is because the darkness. So the idea of a multi mind backed by light is unlikely to happen. The Veil is directly linked to what the witness did to merge its species and what maya was doing on neomuna. Light is many points of light, darkness is a singularity. Opposites in physical reality.
You know, regardless of everything I did genuinely think that there is no way for bungo to make me emotionally invested in the story. As in, I was always invested in the universe of D2 and the powers and everything but never in the *story*. And yet, now that I know that EVERYTHING has been leading up to this, every little thing that felt like filler actually makes sense and becomes VERY important. Going around Europa unlocking stasis? Suddenly it is important! Without stasis we could not use prism. Remember Neomuna? Without going there and mastering strand, prism would be unavailable! Literally everything has been building up to this. I am not going to say that this is 10/10 story but it certainly went from 1/10 to 7/10 in my eyes
I have a theory on why the Traveler has been silent all this time. The Gardner is the real entity of the Light. The Traveler, is her vessel to observe and traverse the cosmos, through space and time. She was silent before the Collapse because she was hard at work, preparing us as best she could, for the Witness’ arrival. She knew it would follow her. After the Collapse, she hasn’t spoke to us at all. Why? My theory is that she’s foreseen this final battle since she’d arrived in Sol. She’s been busy this whole time, rallying an army of dead Guardian legends, to defend her Garden. To aid us when we arrived inside the Traveler. Cayde, perhaps due to wish magic, was merely the first of many dead spirits, to wake up.
Dud the statue is of a woman covered by a veil, the woman is the gardener(traveller) and the veil represents the winnower and well, the veil, so the estatues represent that original united form the traveller and veil once took, as per weekly lightfall lore
The statue might be the only time witness perfected a shape. Its elegant but eerie. I think the statues are the final shape the witness seeks symbolically. Maybe the witness achieved this shape back in their golden age
The statue is a symbol representing the finale shape. The Traveler being merged with the Veil. It’s not a person. Light and dark as one. As we see in the final shape trailer with prismatic.
Venextron! Coming to this video after Bungie dropped yet another trailer yesterday and, once again, the veiled woman statue was featured prominently. I think you're certainly onto something here. Were you ever planning to do a video covering why pyramid/darkness structures and architecture were present in the sol system before the arrival of the witness at the first collapse?
I really wish I could buy into the idea that they've been sewing seeds about these statues the whole time. But I think they're justifying them retroactively rather than something they planned out from the beginning.
The statues are inspired by the Veil of Isis, a statue and iconography depicting the Egyptian goddess of life, Isis, atypically garbed in an obscuring veil. Independent of Destiny, the veil represents the unknowable nature of nature itself. To part/lift/rend the veil is to know the unknowable, which slots nicely with Destiny's Hermetic inspirations. Isn't it strange, though, that the statue in the Deep Stone Crypt - the only statue confirmed to have been in Sol before the Collapse - is also the only statue that moves?
That is a great question and honestly I don't know. It's one of those things that you'd have to just guess at, and how much of what we see there means something, and how much of it is a placeholder is really hard to say.
@@Venextron Currently watching your video on the Gardener and Winnower. Was thinking it could be cool if thats where we meet the Gardener. Great stuff btw.
Watched Your other Vids on the Topic & it wasn't until I watched this that it occured to Me, I to believe You & follow Your logic that the Female Idol is the Gardener, I'm wondering if the Veil over top of the Idol is ment to represent the Gardener & the Veil Merging back into a single source/power, the Deep's idea of the Final Shape They want left at the End of "The Flower Game" 💯💯✌🏽✌🏽
The Witness's origin cutscene seems to imply that the Pyramids and their architecture have existed since before they even discovered the Veil. And we know the Precursors worshipped the Traveler/Gardener before she abandoned them for attempting to merge the Traveler with the Veil. So a likely argument for the statues depicting the Gardener is that since the Precursors erased their own history before merging into the Witness, as told to us in Entelechy, the Witness doesn't remember what the statues even represent, and it now just uses them as these sort of "Darkness Conduits".
@@UltraRisen You may be the first person in history at least from what I have seen to provide me with some solid evidence that it may very well be the Gardener... Props to you, man.
To answer the question straight up.. I believe the Gardener is being covered as a sign of disownment. The Veil over her represents the loyalty towards whatever the Witness truly found within the Veil. Basically like the Veil is covering the Light. Just my theory. Now if it is the Winnower then maybe it’s kinda the same.. a disowning of it. But idk I can’t find a reason to why it’s the Winnower.. but dang that one trailer had a weird hand trying to emerge from smoke of some kinda darkness like it’s been covered for awhile. So.. it might as well just be the Winnower tbh.
@@andrizzle5887 1. First of all, evidence that it IS the Winnower is the simple fact that those statues are found in Dark places. Namely aboard the ships OF THE DARKNESS. 2. That hand emerging from the smoke is the Witness's hand. You can tell it's the same from when it cut into the Traveler to make that portal.

I don't actually think the Mysterious Voice is the Gardener, but a deceased Guardian's consciousness whom we absorb. This is what allows us to wield both Light and Dark at the same time, and serves to contrast against the Witness's own genesis. Moreover, I also think the Veil of the Veiled Statue is hiding something interesting: the figure has four arms! Two spread out in exultation, and two clutching the figure's head in sorrow (the elbows of which are coming forward, simulated breasts.)
What if 2 people are behind the veil of the statue? The first, the gardener, embracing herself. The second the winnower, standing behind, open and proud.
Apologies if the mouth sounds are annoying. I'm going to try and learn how to edit them out better. The easy solution is to stay further away from the mic, but that increases the echo from my room. I'll try and improve for next time!

The Darkness Statue is basically a religious idol of sorts. The Witness’ plan of quite litteraly putting a veil on their depiction of the Gardener
