    There is a pattern to Digital extremes, storytelling, and that is that each faction gets marginally more powerful until all are brought up to the same level. At the same time, they take a break. Each mission to put the main character stories forward. And then the side stories are mostly just warframe stories, which might have something to do with a future or past update. It usually cycles around the factions grineer corpus then infested over and over again with our story inbetween or intertwined.

    I feel like its a " discover the meaning of your life " type of story telling as you go around your life you start to grown and question why things are people you don't know start to show your parental figure starts to have uncomfortable conversations with you, you soon break free of your parental figure control you discover the truth about yourself about others but then you also find something you were never prepared for

    For every question answer you'll get 5 new questions in return.
    Warframe's story and lore unironically has it's own real estate within my own brain. Somewhere in between my life, my relationships and my hobbies.
    Idk how many hours I have spend in my life crafting theories and piecing together lines of dialog.

      @@thimovijfschaft3271 haha, absolutely, same! Are you happy about that being the case though, or is it annoying to you to constantly be in this state of not having clear answers? For me, I enjoy it as long as there’s at least something to be dug up to satisfy my curiosity, even if it’s not an answer that would fill the whole picture.

      @thesoulofagame I do enjoy it. Sometimes it can be a bit disappointing. For example I had many questions in regards to the Sentients as they're my favorite sci-fi faction and the New War was set up to finally really explore them more for years only to do nothing of that at all. And after that DE actually said that they're not gonna touch the Sentients for a while because they are a bit bored of them since they have been the main villain faction for many years...
      Regardless of this disappointment, I am happy with what we got instead.
      The all Albrecht story is also interesting enough to keep my autistic brain occupied.

      @thesoulofagame  18 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah, I think they kind of lost the mystery about them in The New War. It’s propably good to lay them off for a while to give space to something else. I’d love to see them explored some more eventually though, sentients are still super interesting to me, too.

      @thesoulofagame  วันที่ผ่านมา

      It can definitely be tedious. I enjoy the process of piecing it together, but to be fair, the lack of story at the beginning was propably just caused by lack of development budget.

    • @efeokoro3960
      @efeokoro3960 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      i think it's only tedious because you need to form relationships(standings) with the people(faction) of the world to get all the good lore and story. The reason they don't put it early on is because it can come off as lore dumping, and that can be bad because they overwhelm and confuse people to the point where they're not interested anymore. Because there is so much rich storytelling in warframe, it better that they can fully take it in while they aren't trying to grasp a lot of the complex game system in the first 20 hours.

    the overarching story is that we are free and are now making our own choices while piecing our past together.

    • @thesoulofagame
      @thesoulofagame  วันที่ผ่านมา

      That’s a good way to put it. The game could definitely use some nudges to give to the player, though. There should be something to keep the player encouraged to keep piecing their past together. More foreshadowing at the beginning, or something of the sort.

      @@thesoulofagame When the game was younger, it did that by actively not giving you anything. You discovered tiny hints, and the answer wasn't just around the corner. It's why he fanbase has a fascination with working together to answer questions.
      But because so many answers have been given, and many new players know that there are answers, it seems like things are meant to come way faster. Warframe being a live service game means experiencing the story across years feels cathartic, but once it's all there, it's tempting to rush through it before you even have time to engage with it the way it asks you to: through speculation.

    • @thesoulofagame
      @thesoulofagame  วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@muntu1221 yeah. Me being a Warframe “veteran” and having initially experienced the game the way you’re describing, I can relate. I honestly loved the way we had to piece the lore together, but there’s definitely an advantage in being able to enjoy the overarching story without interruptions as well, even if it’s tempting to rush through it. If it increases the chances of the new player falling in love with the game, they might end up going out of their way to search for more lore even after completing the storyline, I think.

    Better/worse, what plot you get at the start is a relatively new addition. It used to be literally non extant, no tutorial, no nothing.
    It was only when the Duviri Paradox was added as an alternate start (before they promptly removed it) that the game stuck for me by giving me some tangible lore and mysteries to solve.

    As much as I liked Warframe, it shares many of Destiny's flaws- namely that the story is hidden behind grimoire-ish collectibles and many factions and races are given bombastic names but the game doesn't bother to try to explain why any of them matter unless the player digs into those collectibles. And there's nothing wrong per se about that strategy, but to me at least, it lead to me thinking that the game was treating its lore with more reverence than it deserved.
