I already know this didn't happen and I'm 4 seconds in while typing this. Plus, it would be illegal for the Professor to purposely try to target and disprove a student's religion
Then you better tell the professor that because there are professors on Earth that don't believe in the existence of God, yet actually hold a conversation WITH students concerning religion.
well it doesnt mean it wouldnt happen but we dont know what professor it was, what school it was, what student it was, we are meant to believe a student of university would be able at a relatively young age to use einsteins argument at his favor, i guess thats the point of this video, we have to belive that this happened, but he is wrong on 1 thing, death isnt the abcsence of life, you dont call the unborn dead yet they dont have life, death is the end of life as we know it, not the end of energy though
Yeah, this was pretty obviously created by someone who has never set foot in an actual college classroom. The people who make up this garbage about how terrible college is, have obviously never darkened the doorway of an actual merit based institution. Maybe one of those religious indoctrination schools like Liberty or Bob Jones University but not a real school.
Basically what did happen was a professor asked kids if god exists why did he create evil? A student raised his hand and asked if he knew what darkness was,and then he said darkness is only an absence of light, and evil is the absence of god. The student was Albert Einstein

That was the wrong way to handle that. If the teacher is an atheist fine. If he wants to preach about that, fine, but he shouldn't try to tell students god doesn't exist. I'm not Christian btw. I'm an atheist myself. But it's still the persons choice to follow a religion.

Everyone is talking about how this is obviously fake, but no one is saying why. This "philosophy" professor is the worst philosophy professor I've ever encountered. If this conversation had happened in a class, I would have dropped it in a second. Not because I was offended by the professor's beliefs but because of the professor's lack of knowledge and understanding of philosophy.
To be honest im stuck on this lack of knowledge in biology, and the sciences. What class is this where the teacher knows nothing about philosophy but teaches it, and nothing about biology, but teaches it too.

Well this is not correct, they changed the conversation a little and so the meaning changed by A LOT. It is mostly true until where he stopped talking about cold as absence of heat... See, I will judge this because this is based of a REAL conversion between Einstein and his middle school teacher. You can make up your story but it is not right to change an existing one! What actually was said is that “cold is the absence of heat” and it was applied to the concept of “evil is the absence of good” which Einstein said means “evil is the parts of the universe that are yet untouched by god”. Basically there was no debate on god existence in the first place, the teacher was Christian and made the point that god is evil and that is why Einstein argued with him. That's no science teacher. That's what a science teacher in a Christian's perfect world would say. In reality, it is common knowledge that cold nor darkness exist, because they are words to describe the absence of heat and light, respectively. We can prove the existence of light and heat through observation and experimentation with the help of the scientific method. Good and evil, however, is completely arbitrary. What heat is to one person is the same to everyone. What light is to one person is the same to everyone. Good is arbitrary. Good is subjective. And evil is not the absence of good. Because you cannot measure good nor evil, you cannot say that evil is the absence of good. And to say that God is good, and to take it one step further and say that evil is the absence of God, would be severely egotistical and misleading.

Cold technically isn't the absence of heat. It's when an object or particles absorb energy from it's surroundings (endothermic). And heat is when energy is exerted into the surroundings (exothermic). So basically, cold can be measured by the amount of energy the object absorbs.
Allied Sorry, but you're wrong, Don't mix Heat and Temperature together, they are not the same thing, Cold is a colloquial term in temperature that refers to the slow motion of the particles in a system, and it can't be measured, because when you say that you are going to measure cold, you're actually measuring the amount of energy per particle (Heat). So, sorry but Cold is actually the absence of Heat (energy) and not the opposite of heat.
Eternal Abyss actually, cold is, in fact, is the amount of particles in the air. Get a sponge. Put it in water. Is the water gone? Or is it just in the sponge? How can heat be gone, if it's just in the particles itself?

On my father's death bed he knew that I was undecided on this subject because he was dying and God wasn't helping. My dad said people generally dont believe if they can't see it. He asked "do you see the wind?" I said no. He said "God is a feeling as with everything we believe in" I asked why God isn't helping? He replied "was I a good father?" Yes of course I said!!. He replied "life is a test and I've passed son, God needs me". I'm not terribly religious but I do feel there's something greater. We wont know until we are ready I guess.

Not to rain on your parade, but wind and God are no where close to the same. We physically feel wind, we can measure and quantify it, and we can explain it scientifically.
Ian Parrish here's a thought. What if God was physical? What if were all wrong. We all see it differently. God looks human? Maybe God is everything. I greatly respect both this professor and this student. They listened to and respected each other. So many debates go haywire and heated, but these men remained calm. Wouldn't it be nice if all participants in all debates controlled themselves like this?
I just want to say this, the definition of God is that he is supernatural. So when anyone try to measure or find evidence, facts and proofs of God using a scientific method is illogical, how can you proof a supernatural beings using a scientific method? It's like measuring distance with liters or grams, *YOU WILL NEVER GET ANYWHERE WITH THAT METHOD* And also trying to find *direct* proof for God is also out of the question, since we can only go so far as the observable universe, for us to directly observe God that means God has to be within our plain of vision, that means in our universe. If God Is in our universe then he isn't God since he will be effected by time, space and matter: God doesn't get effected by that, so we have to look for indirect evidence
Shadow My life’s a mess this is another concept we human cannot comprehend, we can talk about nothingness, but we can never understand it and it's true. But, think about the claim you made, no one said that God takes on a physical form , we actually believe that God is an essence, so if we said that God has a physical form outside of the universe then it's paradoxical. In addition when I said "not in our universe" I was referring to the realm, we believe that God created 7 heavens and the 7th is the one we live in, maybe the entirety of the 7th heaven is this universe, maybe it's this universe but it contains more than one heavens we don't know the exact details, and when I said God cannot be in our universe I didn't mean it literally I'm sorry for misleading, I meant as in physically. And finally to conclude, you said because God is not in our universe (which was partly my mistake for making it unclear) then he cannot exist, as I explained above not physically but spiritually, then what is our universe expanding into then? If it's complete nothingness how is something becoming nothing?
Shadow My life’s a mess your problem is that you’re thinking that everything that occurs around us has some explanation. If we don’t know the mechanism, we don’t believe in it according to what you’re saying. Then, if you can’t explain it, it’s not true? You simply aren’t intelligent enough to know that you aren’t intelligent. Not everything in this world is explainable, and if you still disagree, it’s just your ego.

susancdwpg Honestly what I dont get is, you can use theories like the Big Bang to say something had to have caused it ( like a god ). But many Christians believe those theories to be poisonous in some way to their ideas. We dont know how quarks and atoms came into being. But personally I dont think anyone can argue that religion is not manmade. Yes there may be a god but its probably not our god, they way we see him. If theres anything that resembles a god, I am one hundred percent sure it is beyond human interpretation.
Look, if there is such a thing as God. A "person" who created all the universe. All the quarks, all the Quantum rules.. I mean, praying and all this is massive bullshit because our planet is definitely not a central of universe and God couldn't care less about us. If you were immortal and all this, and created universe, would you care about some little things praying to bunch of Gods and not even one of them is right?
Ondřej Foltýn that shows your character you care less about ppl or things. I don't see why a powerful God wouldn't care for his creation. it's his. why is it unthinkable for God to care? we humans even with the limited power and life we have ,care for things we create. because God created all things and cares for all things is the reason it makes him so profound and loving according the Christian beliefs. Your sentiment though are expressed in the Bible: what is man that you should care for him. his life is but vapor.
A O Yes but first things first, there are billions of us, it's not fun to listen to everyone just saying how their life is bad (that is praying in a nutshell), second thing, there might be another thousands of earth-like plants with "humans" on it.
Kane Clarke explain b this seems flawed to me. If not who created the universe how is it constantly expanding, is there something beyond the universe such as heaven and hell no one knows our entire existence is based off of THEORIES no one actually knows what happened
Kane Clarke if no god or higher up of sort created this universe we have no propose we were put here for a reason we have a point to our living something has to be outside of our universe to let it be expanding although we can’t figure it out it must be there so something made us we didn’t just appear from thin air bc as you know a little pant must have a starting time point as a seed correct, well who planted all the plants? Did they arise from our molten earth? And if so why don’t other planets have plants and animals? Something or someone put us here for an unknown reason maybe just an experiment.
Paul Tillich, the renowned Christian theologian, stated (Dynamics of Faith, 1957) that there is a difference between 'belief' and 'faith'. Belief is based on valid observable, repeatable fact, which is the fundamental basis of all areas of science. On the other hand, faith does not require any form of valid observation or replication of any sort. Faith, using the long held analogy, makes a 'leap of faith' over any need to 'prove' the convictions an individual might hold. I am very glad that I am a scientist. Science can prove what it says!
Thank you for the example, J Will. A near perfect presentation example of the logical fallacy 'Argument from Ignorance' (Latin: 'Argumentum ad Ignorantium'). Further, from the field of psychology, this example provides a serious dose of the 'cognitive bias' well described by the 'Dunning-Kruger Effect.' This PhD, this son of a D.Th. minister, and (especially) this former two-tour multiply decorated combat 'grunt' with the parachute infantry, does indeed experience a limited measure of enjoyment from the 'Schadenfreude' this example has induced as a secondary side-effect. Under normal circumstances I would so enjoy a spirited rational and logical discussion regarding the issue of 'belief' v 'faith. However, it is my long held conviction that one should not encourage individuals who are rationally and logically unarmed.

Its a great example the brain to GOD because we can only touch feel see or smell our brain through some processes so is how we can see GOD, knowing that you have a brain without seeing is a mystery but you still have faith that you have brain so is it with the existence of GOD is still a mystery our way of thinking is just limited because we are under sin as i have heard we only use 5% of our brain power so if we overcome sin then GOD opens our minds and unveil the mystery of his existence the same way we do a ct scan or breaking our skull to see if we have a brain
hey im everything Bea Gamboa well your probably wrong. We humans use 100% of our brain. Using 5% is a myth. To keep us alive our brain should 100%. Have you ever heard of subconscious mind? Thats what keeping you alive.
All philosophy professors must know the simple rules of argument. With the argument shown it seems that the professor knows little of philosophy, I know all schools must not allow a person applying to become a professor to be a professor without knowing the basics. When having a stand in your argument you must give facts to make a true conclusion. When given with premises, the conclusion may either be true or valid. VALIDITY AND TRUE ARE NOT THE SAME. Validity is just based on the premises you say which could be your opinions, but a true conclusion is dependent on expanded, correct, and educated observations. This is why doctors carefully check you for them to be able to diagnose you correctly and cure you, but if they look at you and make guesses which they think are correct(opinion) then they may give you the wrong diagnosis and it will be difficult for them to cure you. At this point scientists, philosophers, and even other free thinkers out there are still observing to prove the existence of a god. This is why no conclusions must be made yet without having the facts. Before making a counterargument on this, PLEASE DO A RESEARCH FIRST ON PHILOSOPHY THAN MAKING YOUR OWN PREMISES AND COME UP WITH A CONCLUSION
My turn now: Once a student asked its professor. How can you tell apart good from bad? The professor says, you use your common sense and do what you think it's good. The student says. Then my common sense tells me to take a gun and kill you. The professor answers: Well ok, what stops you? The student says, it's my religion which teaches us what is good and what is bad. The professor says: If it wasn't that you would've you killed me? The student remained silent. - Think about it, is really religion all it keeps you from doing it? Then the student answered: No, I actually didn't mean it but what if someone wants to do that? What will stop him without religion? -Well, you see son, our instincts and our education will prevent most of the people doing that. But like 1 in a million, there can be such individuals that have the wrong genes and grew up in the wrong conditions. Plus the majority of these do it for a reason not just like that. Those with killer genes won't be stopped by religion anyway.

This is SUCH a strawman fallacy. This "conversation" wouldn't actually take place except in the mind of a theist attempting to prove some point. And saying that "science says your god doesn't exists" is not something science would or even could do because science only operates in the physical world and doesn't address that which it cannot test....therefore would never make such a conclusion as "god doesn't exist". And especially when the student starts to question the professor,....this is more of the same. Things like this don't actually happen.....outside a "God's Not Dead" movie. Seriously, this whole video is just an exercise in absurdity.
I think this is an optimistic way of thinking if life, and if someone wants to believe in God, let them. If they don't let them. No matter if there is or isn't, we shouldn't argue about such things, there's no point.
Of course anyone can believe whatever they want, we should never police people's thoughts. But it's valuable to talk about epistemology, and make sure we believe things for good reasons.

But do you know that GOD is not human and GOD made us. How you live? Why do you live if you're not trust in GOD?If GOD doesn't exist, why do you exist?" then the professor stared at me and he crying. We can prove the existence of brain. We can even see and touch it, well the host would be dead by then. What it means is that this whole NARRATIVE STORY and its LOGIC is rather flawed. I warn any person who would overlook such area and use it as a probable opinion or point.
derian schmidt, get it plain and simple, dying is not a path any theorist rely upon for, particularly to give support to their thesis. You know why because when death occurs you don't come back to tell if you saw God or not. Moreover my comment was intended to point out the OVERLOOKED that the aforementioned story has applied while coming to the apparent logical conclusion. Because i certainly know one or the other person will take this story as his point of view or rather as his argument to the never ending debate on science and religion. And if you follow me properly that would mean more impurities to the dialectical process. Ps: I'm not an atheist. Nor am I skeptical about His existence. But surely my religion or rather my belief is not based on blind acceptance. Don't ask which religion I'm talking about because I'm talking on a rational point of view and not the orthodox ones.
derian schmidt, Philosophical it is. But what's the conclusion then. Surely the two analogical subject of comparison is not coterminous, neither in scientific sense nor in philosophical perspective. If I were the professor i would have simply said,“ dear, i can proof that I have a brain, come lets go do some scanning.".My point was simply on subject used for logical comparison and its Flaws. This particularly with the usage of 'BRAIN'.
Just an amateur filmmaker Explain. Philosophy may use some scientific arguments to back up philosophical ones but it is totally different. How is it dumb when it is literally built around deeper thinking?
Extending the professor argument: if you can't perceive a difference between God and Satan, then the question is not whether God exists, or whether God is Good, or omniscient ---- it's whether he is different from Satan. If God doesn't always help the good, wouldn't satan not always influence the bad??
The thing is that there is such a thing as free will. because God created Satan it does not make him Satan. Satan was created good and then he decided to break away from his original design which made him turn evil and cause evil things to occur. Just because God can do all things does not mean he will. He has given all living beings the ability to make choices on their own, therefore what Satan does is not an extension of God or who he is, it is simply a choice of Satan. God is the cause for all things good without God there is no good. It is however impossible to understand the extension of this argument because unlike God we do not know all things therefore we cannot understand all things. That is why we hold on to our faith if you want to know more then look for God and ask him yourself and maybe you will understand why thousands of years later where still talking about a man who died on a cross.
This made me trilled so much. I am an Agnostic, but to me if God exists we need it's prove to us and that could let us to understand the conflict between Science and God. Actually every thinks so Science and Mathematics are opposite of believing God but true is we are finding it's origin in order to claim itself as GOD! Fatih is different thing but originallty is different thing. If God exists it have to show it's reflections in order to prove itself as real. For me God is the purity of Mathematics and Physics this thing also including Philosophy could prove it's existence and for this we will need some thing unexcepted. Einstein to was searching answers of God, he also was in favour to prove god in equation but at last he couldn't.
We don’t just know about god from books we feel him and see know he’s there in are hearts and minds but you will only feel him if you accept him you can’t say people who believe in god are weak if anything there strong there stronger than anyone else as they are feeling even seeing or just believing in something so huge that someone with a weak brain could even understand god you must be open minded willing to accept him and you will feel him you will feel your answers to your questions everything that happens is becuase it’s part of gods plan so don’t say something unless you have s backup to that and you wonder why we have sicknesses and death and disasters it’s all one big trial in gods plan so we can return back to him and live with him and become like him he doesn’t do it to us to make us miserable he does it as s trial to make us prove are sleds to home to prove we will not be tempted by Satan as we did chose god in heaven we all will have 1 major trial in are life and a few small ones and if you can get through those and fight through Satan’s temptations and follow gods path you will live with him now I will not comment on anything else all I haft to say is that’s what I believe

"Science says your god doesn't exist" Well no science doesn't say that. Science says that god can't be demonstrated by scientific means. There for the null hypothesis is in effect. And that just means, not proven.
Buzzcook, I think the people who try to prove there is no God have faith but their faith doesn't satisfy them. Why try and disprove a god when they believe there is no god to disprove? Why blame evil and suffering on God if they believe there is no god? They're atheists, smart people. Why can't they understand that there must be opposition like good and evil in order to make our own choices? It's suppressed in the back of their mind that there's possibly a god but they can't rely on faith.
Not sure I or any other atheist would use "faith" to describe how we arrive at our beliefs. There are certain things we and everyone else has to accept without absolute proof. We are not a brain in a vat, reason works, and there is continuity in the universe. But faith in its strict biblical sense belief without evidence or reason, is not in our vocabulary. Of course there are more colloquial definitions of faith that include degrees of reason or evidence, such as I have faith that the #10 bus will arrive on time because it has done so in the past. Why try to disprove "A" god? Well Kali was an East Indian god that was followed by believers "Thuggees" who robbed and murdered people for hundreds of years. I hope you will agree that disproving Kali would have a beneficial effect. We disprove specific gods all the time. The more information there is about a god and how it interacts with nature the more frequently is is disproved. Zeus and Thor for example, besides the conflict of domains, we now know how thunder and lightning work and no bearded fellows on Olympus or swinging hammers are part of it. Why blame god? I really doubt that an atheist would use that phrase except as shorthand for blaming the actions of believers on their belief. You don't blame Kali for the actions of her followers. I don't blame Thor for viking raids. There is an old phrase, good men will do good and bad men will do bad it takes a god for good men to do bad things. We know now that getting good men to do bad things is pretty easy even without a god, but there ya go. Do we need opposites to make choices? Not sure that we do. Most of us make choices on a continuum rather than an A vs B, eg what type of pants should I wear rather than should I wear pants. But even accepting this, there doesn't need to be a deity involved. Is there possibly a god? Most atheists would agree with that statement. An anti-theist or hard atheist would say no there isn't and they would have to defend that statement. Most atheists are agnostic atheists or soft atheists, meaning they make no claim to knowledge just that they have not seen any proof, the null hypothesis. Something is not known till it has been demonstrated.
Science is just a way we organize explanations for events and other things, it is not always right. it is just simple theory's. Except athiest follow these theory's and use them to believe what is wrong. end of discussion
This... I don't believe in God, but the professor in this story is being disrespectful to religion, something most of us know to respect and honour. Why? Because it teaches smart people. With us being humans, we believe completely different things. If I were to tell someone I believed everyone was a God, who'd stop me? From my point of view, there is no God, but for many others, there is a God or there are many Gods. None of us should be this straight up disrespectful for a persons believes. We can educate, tell someone about our point of view, we shouldn't hate someone or disrespect someone for their believes. People like the teacher, to me, are one of the reasons we have a bad name to some as us 'crushing peoples believes.' No, we're just people that don't agree. While I love talking to people from different believes, I wouldn't dream of pointing out one person and making them answer such guestons as 'If God created everything, he must be evil.' This is not inspiring, to me at least. While the student had clever remarks, it was insulting an older person. A thing not at all inspiring. I don't know, why I watched this, it was recomended to me for some reason. Maybe because Religion is so interesting? The believe in something can be comforting or terrifying, depending on the belief. That makes Christianity among others so interesting.
This isn't real. It is fictional propaganda meant to make atheists look intolerant and college professors look like evil secularists. It's anti-intellectual and the music is really annoying.
David Dyer Maybe, but these is still the fact that if something like this happened, neither would be right in my eyes. No matter, who are the ones fighting.
a lonely spoon Nobody makes stupid points, these were points that you 'see' on the screen, those points from both sides might be invalid (especially from the students side), but of course the professors points seem invalid to someone that believes in God, to me, the points proving God is real were not valid. So? We look at things different ways.
Call me Eko both sides had freakin hillaroous points and we just trying to put the other person in a "lower" position. The argument of the teacher about our inability to see hear etc. god is stupid. Specially for a teacher (im an atheist). You also cant see black holes but at thiz point were almost certain they exist. If this was a real life scenario i thing you could excuse the student for being a lot younger and unwise. Also the teacher started attacking the student and violently tried to make him acknowledge the nonexistence of god which is just inappropriate for a teacher.
If monkeys evolved to humans why don’t we see the process still happening did the monkeys say one day there are enough humans now so we will just stop evolving
This is an obvious straw man fallacy. I took several philosophy courses and the gawd issues were nothing like this. They were mostly logical deductions from historical philosophers and different views were presented. There were no debates or arguments-it was just rote memorization and Scan-Tron tests. Never once did a philosophy professor call out a student for their beliefs, nor did any present personal philosophies or arguments based on their own experiences. This is just a rehash of “God’s Not Dead,” which is quite possibly the most poorly-written movie ever conceived to hit theaters. I am assuming the creator of this video never made it to college, which is okay, but why lie about the collegiate experience if you have never experienced it?
True enough. And theres a part wherein the protagonist ask the prof "why do u hate god" and the prof answers it with stupidity. Why is that question even valid? The prof is implying god desnt exist so why would he accepts that he hates god

Thanks for pointing out the folly in my thinking, kid-with-no-experience.” Oh, damn! Burned!
How can we call something good if we have no bad to compare it to? Every right needs a wrong. Every good needs a bad. Every light needs a dark. Every angel needs it demon. Every god needs it’s devil.
I don't think good/evil is subjective at all. Doesn't matter who agrees or disagrees- people have a lot of twisted, messed up ideas about what's right. But our opinions or what's normal/popular atm doesn't change what's right/wrong.

So what is DNA, DNA is OUR book, full of complex instructions to create us, it’s not possible to create that from nothing which means there has to be a god, & in the Bible it says, “if you seek god you will find him” so if you haven’t yet keep looking because he is there

I laughed my head off at the part where the student said that the professor had no brain.
You see? He contradicted himself in concluding that the professor has no brain. He most likely took it in his biology class that every human has a brain. If the professor has no brain, neither does he.
teacher:
how DARE you USE MY words AGAINST me?!
This actually happened tho. I was there. Right after it all went down they started making out. It was beautiful really.

It's kind of sad that we humans will argue over petty things like what one should believe or not believe in. So person X is an atheist or person Y is a Christian or person Z is a Muslim, so what? Is it that hard for us a species to support one another regardless of our beliefs or lack thereof? At the end of the day, we share the same land and the same sky.
(This comment will probably be overlooked, but in all honesty I really hope that it touches and affects each and every one of us.)

Bijan Soularie those are two words made by us to define the variability in numbers (which is another thing we created) and the presence and absence in different objects (and I don't want to mention all of the names science uses to relate to different things in objects according to different theories which is also created by us). He talks about dark not existing. Genesis 1:4, God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness. One of the most iconic verses counters the students's whole argument.
in fact there isn't such a thing a the opposite 😊
The teacher did not pick on him, Einstein just interrupted and said this.
Guys, don’t try to change history! Don’t retell it in your ways, the truth will come up eventually!
LOL Science no God let Evil happen I don’t know why but he let it happen God doesn’t create evil that’s the problem here he lets it happen
J Hedgje HE DOES NOT “LET IT HAPPEN” THAT IS SATIN. SATIN DOES THESE HORRIBLE THINGS TO MAKE POEPLE THINK GOD IS MEAN AND DOES EVIL AND HURTS PEOPLE. IT IS ALL SATIN. Why would God purposefully hurt people? You think he just sits back on his chair and watches people die? Really?
LOL Science I agree
Craft Slime Company he doesn’t do it on purpose of course not he’s a loving God and kind and forgiving God

It's not up to anyone to disprove if God real or not. A believer is making a claim that this particular entity is real, it's up to him/her to prove it. A none believer makes no such claims. They are just asking for testable scientific evidence. Just like if someone comes to you and claims that they saw a dragon, you would ask them for evidence.

It actually is, I sorry if I come of rude or something, but that is what it is defined as. It just exerts less heat.
Its like a meter of sorts, you cant go into the negatives, cold, but you can go higher and get progressively lower, heat
NeVa PuRe cold is not the opposite of heat its the opposite of hot.

Mahin Paudel who says God is a he? Who says there is more than one god? As I've said in the past, people think they know the meaning of everything when clearly we dont. You will, we will after we die. Questions will be answered or we realize that what's important down here isnt. Such as the meaning of life. What we have is a gift. Use it and stop with the my my. It's our God. It's not a possession you can have.
Mahin Paudel that's what you believe then that's ok. My statements are just statements and beliefs. I'm not terribly religious myself and not want to be one of those pushy opinionated people. Thanks for your input and thanks for no hostility. I like hearing other opinions because this subject is vast and also very opinionated.
Not to rain on your parade, but wind and God are no where close to the same. We physically feel wind, we can measure and quantify it, and we can explain it scientifically.
Ian Parrish yes itd very obvious and well done for understanding physics ian. Really, you diddnt have to explain considering.
Ian Parrish here's a thought. What if God was physical? What if were all wrong. We all see it differently. God looks human? Maybe God is everything. Such as what your standing on or looking at or even better, the wind you feel and we can measure. But, what do I know.......I know nothing until I die and even then it could just be giant pit I'm falling down just like bill and Ted's bogus adventure.

I just want to say this, the definition of God is that he is supernatural. So when anyone try to measure or find evidence, facts and proofs of God using a scientific method is illogical, how can you proof a supernatural beings using a scientific method?
It's like measuring distance with liters or grams, *YOU WILL NEVER GET ANYWHERE WITH THAT METHOD*
And also trying to find *direct* proof for God is also out of the question, since we can only go so far as the observable universe, for us to directly observe God that means God has to be within our plain of vision, that means in our universe.
If God Is in our universe then he isn't God since he will be effected by time, space and matter: God doesn't get effected by that, so we have to look for indirect evidence
Zyad AL-otaibe Someone who understands. Thank You
Zyad AL-otaibe so god doesnt exist in this universe? The only universe that has been proven to exist? So logically speaking your god doesnt exist
And again a proof that religion is a massive mental disease.

susancdwpg Honestly what I dont get is, you can use theories like the Big Bang to say something had to have caused it ( like a god ).
Forest Trees It is almost certainly an unimaginably powerful being that couldnt care less what we fucking do tbh
The concept of God actually being real still isn’t plausible.
Kane Clarke explain b this seems flawed to me. If not who created the universe how is it constantly expanding, is there something beyond the universe such as heaven and hell no one knows our entire existence is based off of THEORIES no one actually knows what happened
Phobic Rapter exactly, but just because it is unexplainable doesn’t automatically mean that a god created all of this. It just is what it is.
That's because you aren't too smart

James Smith prove logic exists using empirical evidence

My turn now:
Once a student asked its professor.

Yes because that is what my common sense tells me is right.
A human can pleasure himself in many ways that includes drugs murder or sex etc. but religion is what tells you you spare the mans life and put the gun down. Religion is what tells you good from bad
Give this student claps for that answer 👏👏
Worst answer ever, that happens when people debate with scientists
Of course there is something called cold
On the board there is Science that contains physics and he is a philosophy teacher
And the argument is not even philosophically sound. One word for this video is *IRRATIONALITY*
Still science
The theoretical professor went wrong by discussing the attributes of the imaginary god before asking for evidence it existed in the first place.
Then the rest of the conversation wouldn't have taken place because there is none.
that's a dumb thing to say, if those attributes in this case god's benevolence give him an obligation to act according to them, if he doesn't act according to them, than that disproves his existence
I've always imagined about time travelling
And there are two things in particular I would like to do
1. To check if the history we know now is flawed (or to show people history which their government try to hide from them)
2. To check what actually happened during the time of Jesus
You would probably see a lot of differences in true history and you would probably see that Jesus was just a sand rat that made a lot of shit up
At the time of jesus, there Was another timetraver, who used to make prak Videos... like turning water to wine

No that's actually just religious propaganda to make people believe it
That was not Einstein, he was not a deist.
Carl TGA Actually albert believed in god.
"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."

Olive Smash nah man, you should read Isaiah 13:18
Olive smash if everyone stayed in their own lane there would be no teachers and so would everyone be dumb in that case? Yes yes they would
tinker bee 1. Do your research. There is evidence. 2. God wanted us to trust him. He never should have needed to make evidence.
Isn't this based off one of Albert Einstein's experiences?
No matter if there is or isn't, we shouldn't argue about such things, there's no point.
i think we found a pure one... purer than this comment section
Of course anyone can believe whatever they want, we should never police people's thoughts. But it's valuable to talk about epistemology, and make sure we believe things for good reasons.

I am Muslim and in my college, There's a professor ask me "is GOD are real?" and I said "Yes it is." and more argument and more until I said "If you think you're good enough to think GOD is human, can you prove it?and you asking me why I can't see GOD?I can't feel it,taste it and more.
Medo Hillary Good point but the point still resides in other things. It is not a scientific argument it is a philosophical argument.
derian schmidt, Philosophical it is. This particularly with the usage of 'BRAIN'.
derian schmidt philosophy is the dumb and flawful version of science
Just an amateur filmmaker Explain. Philosophy may use some scientific arguments to back up philosophical ones but it is totally different. How is it dumb when it is literally built around deeper thinking?
Extending the professor argument: if you can't perceive a difference between God and Satan, then the question is not whether God exists, or whether God is Good, or omniscient ---- it's whether he is different from Satan. If God doesn't always help the good, wouldn't satan not always influence the bad??
Satan influences good people to make them bad

We don’t just know about god from books we feel him and see know he’s there in are hearts and minds but you will only feel him if you accept him you can’t say people who believe in god are weak if anything there strong there stronger than anyone else as they are feeling even seeing or just believing in something so huge that someone with a weak brain could even understand god you must be open minded willing to accept him and you will feel him you will feel your answers to your questions everything that happens is becuase it’s part of gods plan so don’t say something unless you have s backup to that and you wonder why we have sicknesses and death and disasters it’s all one big trial in gods plan so we can return back to him and live with him and become like him he doesn’t do it to us to make us miserable he does it as s trial to make us prove are sleds to home to prove we will not be tempted by Satan as we did chose god in heaven we all will have 1 major trial in are life and a few small ones and if you can get through those and fight through Satan’s temptations and follow gods path you will live with him now I will not comment on anything else all I haft to say is that’s what I believe
you just put the context of the video, and threw it out the window.... the point was, we belive in things we can't see... and many are true. Plus, who said that the two couldnt co-exist. Science and God could find a way to prove itself with the help of eachother

David Dyer
Maybe, but these is still the fact that if something like this happened, neither would be right in my eyes. No matter, who are the ones fighting.
David Dyer the professor's points were fcking stupid.
a lonely spoon
Nobody makes stupid points, these were points that you 'see' on the screen, those points from both sides might be invalid (especially from the students side), but of course the professors points seem invalid to someone that believes in God, to me, the points proving God is real were not valid.
I highly doubt this exchange took place lol

How can we call something good if we have no bad to compare it to? Every right needs a wrong. Every good needs a bad. Every light needs a dark. Every angel needs it demon. Every god needs it’s devil.
It's all subjective. It's futile to try to classify anything as good or bad because you can bet someone is going to disagree.
I don't think good/evil is subjective at all. Doesn't matter who agrees or disagrees- people have a lot of twisted, messed up ideas about what's right. But our opinions or what's normal/popular atm doesn't change what's right/wrong.
