I’ve been playing the violin for seven years and am thinking of playi the trombone as my third (I also play the drums) instrument! This video will really help!
OMG THX I'm in 5th grade and this helped me super-dooper-shmooper -looper-whooper-booperly SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH I still am making mistakes but you know is they say "Mistakes help you learn"
I've been playing piano for 4 years ( coming up to 5) and I'm only thinking of learning a second instrument. I really like the sound of trombone and I'm checking to see if I can do it and want to do it.
Ok I play lots of instruments and and still getting more but my main 3 are trumpet baritone and tuba just got back from a state competition and got a trombone not gonna lie I had no clue what I was doing with it until I seen the vid thanks bro
Thank you, I've got a trombone as a gift, and it's my 2nd day of practice. Do you have more lessons. I've got a question, since I can't read music, never played brass instruments, I'm a, guitarist. Is it better to practise songs or scales. I'm recently trying silent night
Me for one! I possess absolutely zero musical talent: but it doesn't stop me from taking an interest. The presenter of this video spends the first ten minutes taking great care to cover all the bases before getting to the meaty part i.e. how to make a sound from the instrument. What the English call, "Stating the bleeding obvious."! I suspect that a lot of folk will close the video and start watching something else long before they reach this part. Which is a pity as they might never learn what "embouchure" is (I had to consult a dictionary to spell the word). Anyway, it would appear vibrating lips is what it is all about. I will now watch part 2 to learn how to play different notes. As an aside, I must say that I admire musicians who play instruments such as violins, cellos etc where there are no clear marks like frets or keys to give you a guide as to where to place your fingers. Or in the case of a trombone, how far out or in to push or pull the slide.
This is good teaching but is actually comedic gold
bruh. That part. This guy is a gem.
After 4 years of playing the trombone, I finally have a video perfectly describing everything I’ve done wrong.
Same! I’m three years in
"If you can't find a chair, put it on the floor" I fokin love this guy

I play trombone and it is NOT safe to put you trombone on a chair K.K
Yes, it should be beside the chair on the floor. The case could fall off due to its weight.
Ya
@@valentinatran8554 put it under ur chair
Don't Blink so much , relax, free lesson there. He looks like a kid giving a Book report in Middle School.

Ya'll come from that high school kid playing his heart out to?
I'm glad you emphasize posture
I searched up how to play, not how to set it up. =_=
He did show how to play the mouthpiece
Lol
Just use water on a clean slide .. oil adds gunk. Have to clean it more with oil. Take a spray bottle and use a small squirt on the slide. Easy peasy.
I have trouble with the vibration part
Didn't know the 'emb'ouchure trick. I hurt my lips a lot playing before and I want to relearn it
Hey dude, Bill Porter is my son's Grampa.. he refuses to show me how to play it. I WANT NOTHING more to play Marie for him for his bday.. help!
