    13:15 mistake
    There are 3 versions
    USA had 240 American hp
    Europe had 190 metric hp or 250 metric hp
    As well as 570 nm of torque not 550 (420 lbft)

    I think we all like a pandemic roof, and a slab fronted Grand Cherokee achieving aerodynamic ride height just sounds funny. Keep up the good work Matt, looking forward to the next one.

    Happy New Year ! My wife drove a 1996 six cylinder Grand Cherokee for a few years . Wonderful car could easily tow a twin horse box . Never got stuck and reliable into the bargain. Ride was like a comfy mattress . But it did I have a drink problem. We converted it to lpg which helped….a bit. Would love this Jeep but with a petrol engine . Really annoy the eco warriors , who live next door, as an added bonus lol

    I have a 2014 one of these, they are great value at the moment compared to the equivalent discovery. Running costs will be similar to disco, but car tax and insurance are very reasonable. Just keep on top of service schedule and it should be great.

    Happy Year all..
    My Father in law has always had Jeep since they came to the UK in the 90s.
    Great cars and I still think the XJ (The Goonies one) which he had an early UK one then a later one are still great looking cars.
    He then moved up to the Grand models.
    No doubt his next one may be a hybrid one but who knows what Stellantis will build .
    Anyway all the very best to you and your family Matt, I hope you have a great 2023 and already looking forward to more furious videos ..

    There is, unbelievably, one of these in SRT form dumped around the back of a pub in a town near me. When I say dumped, it’s sat for 3 years to my knowledge. Surprisingly it’s also got rusted out wing bottom edges not sure of year as it has a private reg but it’s this body style😢

    My folks had the 2nd Gen GC, moved to a 3rd Gen. That was a terrible vehicle. Lifetime powertrain warranty (which was sneakily cancelled) used up 2 4.7v8s and a transmission.
    Still, picked up a 3rd Gen. Way better vehicle.

  • @jameswalker7874
    @jameswalker7874 ปีที่แล้ว

    We had one of these at work for a bit. A massive step on from the previous monstrosity, totally different car. They missed the mark in certain areas, but it became a reasonable option if you got a big enough discount. Great shot showing exactly why I absolutely HATE those stupid net things brands insist on putting on the backs of the seats.
    It'd be good following this if you could get a new model Grand Cherokee to review because based on the photos it looks another big step forward and could be a real contender up against the Discovery 5.

    Jeep saved Chrysler...Jeep could well end up saving Stellantis, it's by far and away the biggest money earner in the company, and that will prove very handy in restructuring the struggling nameplates.

    I understand what your saying about a proper 4x4 , we used to have the new shape Cherokee, got rid of it after 18 months, had nothing but hassle with it , spent more time in the garage than on the road , since then we’ve moved to Range Rover, now own a velar , wouldn’t swap it for the world . The capability of the 4x4 system is out of this world.

    This generation of Grand Cherokee is extremely popular in the US. I think it might have had a diesel available, I believe a Fiat engine. Otherwise, a V8, because it is America, because we love wasteful vehicles.
    The intention of Jeep is to become LR/RR; if you look at the prices of the vehicles new, it is in Land Rover territory, which means they are very expensive. And just as reliable as a Range Rover and Land Rover.

  • @williamegler8771

    The Americans are really good at making the interiors of their cars look very cheap. Oh well, different tastes I guess. It's funny that a nation so intent on treating people like idiots with warning signs and clanging bells for everthiing, couldn't get the Park bit sorted out! Strange lot.

  • @darrenwilson8042
    @darrenwilson8042 ปีที่แล้ว

    American cars - despite how hard they try they come across as a bit like they are trying too hard but lack the class of their European - ie British - counterparts'. For me the only reason you don't see as many Jeeps broken down by the side of the motorway as Range Rover products is simply sales numbers.......... as much as Rangie owners and devotee's like to pour scorn on their American counterparts Range Rover products are stricken with issues and if we are going for heritage well lets face it its the original Millys that won WW2 - food for thought.
