this endurance race is all about keeping water temp. and oil temp. in check while maintaining the race pace, if the temperature goes high (the light signal installed inside the car) they would have to slow down in order to keep the temp to go down a bit, in the case of the nsx, the oil temperature goes over the 130°C mark and he would force to pace down.

What an amazing race. The NSX S Zero and RX7 weight at least 350 kg less than the GTR so that, they both supposed to have most acceleration but nope. GTR smoked them by its "Fast in fast out" ATTESA logic. Lol They both have faster time attack lap than the R34 due to better braking I think. But a slower racing lap than the R34 on that day. I think they both aren't good at handling heat even weight that little. Not to mention more weight meaning worse more stress under engine braking and more stress under acceleration for R34 :P What amazed me the most is the R34 following the NSX most of the time at the first 10 laps yet still runs cooler than the NSX... wtf?? At the second lap, it even smoked the NSX in the first 5 corners.. It is a heavyweight champion. It's also quite amazing to see the R34 pulls 12.48 seconds away from RX7 at the final 15 laps. I don't get how the R34 get such great water temp. It is a 2.6 liter I-6 with most fuel per km meaning it should generate the most heat. Maybe it's the cooling system like higher radiator coolant cap pressure, higher coolant flow or a larger radiator. Or maybe a better aerodynamic flow for cooling the engine since the front bumper of R34 have a big mouth for radiator and also combining with a higher ground clearance, etc.... Also tires, GTR is the heaviest but I think it have the best balance on tire usage since the ATTESA pretty much equalize the tire usage between all 4 wheels unlike those lack of ABS effort EVO, Subaru, etc... The Subaru understeer too much, this is what happen when you put a rally car on race track. Yes, the NSX and RX7 weight less but they both over steer under braking meaning worse rear tire usage. The drivers will know the difference. Anyway, amazing race.
***** Wrong. MR is better in cooling. Coz engine is further away from inter-cooler. It's just NSX doesn't have big side/bottom vent like Lambo, ferrari, Porsche etc... to cool down.

I fully agree about their limits. But GT-R is a grand turismo sportscar that is better than RX7 and NSX for this use. RX7 is my favourite car though due to its ageless design, great handling and rotary engine.
giorx5 dude, GTR weights 1.6k kg. Its only advantage is its good start due to AWD system. You can see easily at 2nd race that GTR got the 1st place from the beginning (AWD) so it had no fight to give, when the other cars (RX7, NSX, EVO) were fighting each other for getting a good position while losing seconds. RX-7 & NSX are lighweight monsters that can beat AWDs' butts anytime in the corners. As for the str8 line, you can see the video ;) P.S.: I'm a RX-7 fanatic, but I accept the fact that the other cars are good enough too.

RX7 passing the R34 is perfect. Braking and entry into the final hairpin, and the late braking on the final corner. Absolutely sublime.
