I am here in the uk and have watched 100's of e bike reviews as I like to see the persective of riding different makes models of e bikes. I have a fat tyred e bike. I changed my seat to a different one as they all seem to come with really unconfortable seats. I looked at the cloud 9 seat but got the bikeroo seat which is chunky and extremly comfortable. Wouldn't swap it for anything now. Nice video by the way.
Thank you! Fat tired e-bikes are awesome. You can basically ride over everything haha. I think the only bike I’ve tested with a comfortable stock seat was the Engwe L20 2.0. I’ll definitely take a look at bikeroo.
I ride a fat tire bike 300 mi per week, around 50 or 60 miles per day... Yeah your behind gets real sore. What model of bikaroo did you get and does it hold its shape and not smash down?
@SirWrecksy Sorry only just seen this comment. To be honest I don't know what model it is. I just looked on the comments for the best ones where people said how comfortable they are. It is quite a wide seat which fits my fat behind quite good. I did look at the cloud 9 but that was a little more expensive than what I wanted to pay so chose the bikeroo which has been a great buy so far.
@SirWrecksy Just had a look and I think it's just called oversized bike seat. I don't do that many miles per week so maybe best if you check some videos out to see if anyone has had any problems with flattening out or loss of padding.
Congrats! It’s always nice to open a box and do minimum assembly. Some bikes basically give you bags of bolts and screws and say have fun haha. It’s such a smooth riding bike. Just got done with a nice 10 mile evening ride :).
My grandson and I put mine together (birthday present to self). He helped me program the shifting, speed ranges, etc. Only a few miles so far, but damn, Letric One hits my sweet spot. And it has cruise control!

Oh wow, yah there have been quite a few fires here in AZ, even one on the mountain I normally do my hill climb tests on. I’m ready for rain haha. Hopefully you can take it for a spin soon 🤞.
The ONE seems to be a special one! One feature that you mentioned that stands out to me is the "digital shifting w/the noise!" That's neat! The new display and belt drive are becoming their standard (Lite 2.0 & ONE) which is cool! The 1st E-Bike w/a belt drive to my knowledge is the NIU BQI-C3 (which is an amazing feature for single speed e-bikes)! 1 thing Lectric needs to stop doing is....stating that their 48V 14AH battery is "long-range" 😂...that's more standard than long range! Long range = 48V 20AH 😁. Great review Tom! ✅

Hey nice to see you again after commenting on one of your MAX G2 video. Guess what, after a fall I think I will give up on escooter and go ebike. Didn't know where to start so I quickly asked the community for what I was looking for, fat 20" tires with belt and possibly a low maintenance gear system and this ebike is the one that was suggested. I began reading about it to find out it's new and pretty unique. Like you I don't know why the throttle is on the lft side while all escooter have it on the ride side, I need to find out if it's common on ebikes. Do you get used to it? I don't get why there is a nice screen but no gear indicator. Also I think a version with a suspension would make this ebike even better. At first when I said I was looking for 20" fat tires I was expecting suggestions with 4" wide tires and maybe that would help for having no suspension but well, this ebike comes with 2.5" I guess to be more battery efficient. Also I never liked hydraulic brakes on escooter because of maintenance, now wondering if this could be a issue on ebikes? Sorry, lots of opinions and questions here. But I know you read and reply to comments and you get subs so kudos for that. I usually avoid youtubers who ignore comments on their videos.
Hey! I've been testing a variety of bikes with and without suspension lately. Suspension definitely helps, but to be honest with you, the Lectric ONE is very comfortable. The stock tires do a good job of absorbing impact. That said, you'll definitely feel the lack of suspension if you're riding on very rough roads. I did get used to the throttle on the left. The beauty of this bike is that it's really nice to pedal, so I hardly ever use it. The auto gear shift always has me in the right gear, even at stops. It would be nice to have a gear level indicator on the screen. It's a limitation of the screen, though. It shows PAS, but many screen manufacturers do not account for the possibility of an electronic gear shift on a bike in addition to PAS. The hydraulic brakes are holding up well so far. There are no leaks to speak of (yet). I like the feel of hydraulic brakes on bikes versus manual brakes. It's much easier to apply greater brake force, plus it's a whole lot smoother. The ONE also has a very relaxed and upright riding position, which you can adjust with the adjustable seat and handlebars. Let me know if this helps. Happy to answer any questions you have. I'm actually about to go on a ride around the neighborhood on the ONE :). Oh, and sorry about that fall. I ate it on an electric skateboard at 28mph doing a speed test when I said I wouldn't because I had it tuned for carving not speed. Lesson learned lol.
That’s awesome! Such a great bike. Yah I’m interested in seeing how well it climbs hills. I may head up there this weekend. I was going to take a scooter up there last weekend but a lightning strike started a fire up there so the road was closed off.
This is nice bike for sure. I know that it doesn't have a front suspension but from what i was able to ser on my tv the tires seem to be very wide and thick enough to handle some light to moderate road conditions. I also like how it has the same quick disconnect motor wire like my RS. Definitely easier to change a tire with that. 😎👌
It’s surprisingly comfortable for a bike with no suspension. I’m completely hooked on the auto shift and belt drive. Don’t know how I can go back to chains and derailleurs ever again 🤣.
Great review of an amazing ebike! I watched your range and hill climb videos too. I am 293lbs so this bike could work for me. The 0-20 on throttle only seemed slow. Can you tailor the responsiveness with the app?
Thank you! So if you put it in PAS 5 and use throttle, acceleration is much faster. There’s also an option in the settings to reduce the amount of time to max power delivery. I did most of my testing in PAS 3 for throttle. Go to 5 and you get more kick 😎
Yah I’m planning to test out the hill climb ability on SM this weekend. They had a fire up there last week which derailed some of my plans for testing other devices. Thankfully they were able to put it out relatively quickly.
It’ll be interesting to see if Lectric comes out with an XP 4.0, and if so, what it’ll come equipped with. I’d imagine they’d move up to a 750 nominal watt motor. I think a Pinion gear set would drive up the price considerably, which they probably wouldn’t want to do given it’s their best selling bike. Maybe a lower cost Pinion system. Who knows, if Lectric sells lots of ONE e-bikes, it may be a boon for Pinion to the point where they can take advantage of economies of scale and spread costs over considerably more units.
@@tomsgadgetgarage I think that there must be different versions of the pinion gear system. If I recall the mountain bike versions are 12 speed. When pinion becomes the gearing system of choice over the normal style we could see a revolution in e bike gearing. Cassette tape to cd type of change.
Oh for sure. Yah they have Pinions with more gears but the price for those increases quite a bit. After riding the ONE around, I’m hooked on the Pinion system and believe, like you said, it could mark a major shift in the bike market. Plus with the belt drive it’s really hassle free.
I was hoping to get some kind of idea on how heavy the bike is. I haven't seen anyone mention weight of the bike. I need to be able to carry it up a flight of stairs, I live on the 2nd floor of an apartment building. Should I settle for the xp lite 2.0 jw black bike instead?
Hello! Just weighed it. With the rack, fenders, Cloud 9 seat, and battery it weighs in at 64lbs. I think a flight of stairs is doable. The Lite will save you about 15lbs assuming it has no rack and fenders. If you take off the rear rack and use the stock seat you’ll definitely save some weight.
Anyone else has the front axle inserted on the opposite side as the instruction? Instruction says insert on the disc brake rotor side. Mine was also inserted on the drive train side as the thread was on the disc brake side. My front reflector has missing rubber too so can't be tighten enough to be useful. I removed it. I wished that PAS 1 setting has less power. I would have liked 50-100W instead of the 200+W. That is excessive. On PAS 3, you're at 500+W of power which is also pretty high and can drain your battery in an hour. The bike is quiet for the most part. Some weird rattling noise at certain speed though. I have to try to track that down.
Collar locks on pedals? Never heard of this that means regular threaded pedal I absolutely would want to replace stoxk with won't work? Other major issue is 30lb read and 20lb front rack max is not good for something obviously designed for running errands and such. I'd be wanting to get supplies and groceries as well as mostly fishing and perhaps camping with. Not too practical for any of those
Do you have full throttle in lower peddle assist, like PA 1 or 2 ? Oh, yeah, thank you for doing this non biased review. I hate watching reviews when the guy never says anything bad because he just got a free e-bike
Hey! So in PAS 1 & PAS 2 the throttle is limited to the PAS limits of ~9mph and 15mph. You can go into the P-settings and set it so that throttle is set to max amperage in all PAS levels while retaining some limits in PAS 1 & PAS 2, although they are quite a bit higher than the default setting. In PAS 3 the limit is the 20mph for throttle. In PAS 4 & 5 throttle has the same 20mph limit but get you to speed much faster than PAS 3.
@@tomsgadgetgarage great info. I have an XP 2.0 and I have full throttle authority in all PAS settings but I know on the XP 3.0 it has the PWR and throttle is tied to PAS which I wouldn't like. Let's say your stopped at a road crossing, in PAS 1 and you need to give it the "beans" ....... no power, not cool. But your saying you can tweek it in setting to give the thumb throttle more punch in 1 or 2 ? That's cool. Thanks! I wonder if there is a way to put a lectric twist throttle on this bike. I am an old motocross guy from the 1970s, that thumb throttle is strange and it's on the wrong side!!! :)
So apparently it’s a 6lb difference between the Lite 2.0 and the One, which isn’t a whole lot. After riding this thing around, I’m not sure I ever want to go back to a chain driven bike again. I also like having the flexibility of having gear choice on the One. The Lite does have the advantage of price and being a folding bike for portability purposes. There’s also a belt drive version so that’s a plus. For me, I’d choose the One. Everything about this bike is smooth. I actually woke up this morning wanting to take it out for a spin again haha.
XP Lite 2.0 is a single gear, lower speed, and has the battery that's annoying to remove. But it's also lighter and folds. I think a better comparison is the XP 3.0, which is heavier with an annoying battery. But fast and can hold some heavy cargo. Even though it's heavier, it's easier to pick up in some ways because the weight is balanced around the center handle. I'm looking at the ONE as a bit of a luxury as better battery, lighter weight, lower maintenance, and automatic shifting sound great. If the price difference is meaningful, get the XP 3.0. Replacing everything on the XP is cheap and easy, while I'm pretty sure when the belt or Pinion does go on the ONE you're going to feel that price difference all over again...
So no front suspension available at the moment. The tires do a great job of absorbing some of the impact. Not 100% of course. I also have a Velotric T1 ST which also doesn’t have a suspension. I love both bikes (so far). The One is definitely best suited for riding on paved surfaces as well as hard packed smooth dirt paths.
What is the range? Would be nice to have a second battery on the down tube. What is the point of having a nice bike, but can't go the distance with it?
So I’ll be doing a full range test as well as endurance hill climb test over the next couple weeks. Lectric lists a theoretical range of 60 miles on PAS 1/2 and throttle only range of 20 miles. I’ll be testing those figures out of course.
@@tomsgadgetgarage Aniioki has the awesome giant 52V 60 AH battery, but it is still on a chain drive and no internal gear hub. Now if only Lectric can stick a huge battery the One e-bike, Lectric would have the absolute best e-bike around until someone else uses the same e-bike, but with the P1.9 Pinion gear hub.
@@danstenis660 haha yah I’ve seen that bike. If I had a bike with a battery that large, I’d combine my range test and 17 mile hill climb test in a single ride haha.
Nice! Hold the rear gear shift lever for 3-4 seconds. A blue light will start pulsing in the pinion gear unit. You’ll need to do this every time you want to connect the app.
3 questions: Does the cadence sensor allow for a natural feeling ride? Does the frame size feel small? Can you get a workout and go fast without ghost pedaling?
I would say it’s more natural feeling than my other Lectric bike, the XP 3.0. Power delivery is very smooth. My preference is PAS 2 cruising around at around 15mph. At that level and speed, I feel like I’m putting in some effort while still being very relaxed, as in I could ride for hours. For me, that’s the most natural feel. When I get into PAS 3 and go up to 20 mph, I do get some ghost pedaling at around 19-20mph. It could be because I prefer a slower cadence. The frame feels great, thanks to the adjustable handlebars and seat. Doesn’t feel small when riding it.
@@iwasframed1370 and the Lectric one is class two by default. Even my class 3 gazelle only has a suspension fork, and it’s plenty. Full suspension on a non mountain bike is not needed at all.

I just got mine :) it was easy peasy to put together.. tires were pumped , too, this bike is a sweet little hot rod :)

I am interested in how many miles you get on a single charge. The long-range battery is advertised at 60 miles. SM will reduce that significantly.

But your saying you can tweek it in setting to give the thumb throttle more punch in 1 or 2 ? That's cool. Thanks! I wonder if there is a way to put a lectric twist throttle on this bike. I am an old motocross guy from the 1970s, that thumb throttle is strange and it's on the wrong side!!! :)

So apparently it’s a 6lb difference between the Lite 2.0 and the One, which isn’t a whole lot. After riding this thing around, I’m not sure I ever want to go back to a chain driven bike again. I also like having the flexibility of having gear choice on the One.
The Lite does have the advantage of price and being a folding bike for portability purposes. There’s also a belt drive version so that’s a plus.
For me, I’d choose the One. Everything about this bike is smooth. I actually woke up this morning wanting to take it out for a spin again haha.
XP Lite 2.0 is a single gear, lower speed, and has the battery that's annoying to remove. But it's also lighter and folds.
I think a better comparison is the XP 3.0, which is heavier with an annoying battery. But fast and can hold some heavy cargo. Even though it's heavier, it's easier to pick up in some ways because the weight is balanced around the center handle.
I'm looking at the ONE as a bit of a luxury as better battery, lighter weight, lower maintenance, and automatic shifting sound great. If the price difference is meaningful, get the XP 3.0. Replacing everything on the XP is cheap and easy, while I'm pretty sure when the belt or Pinion does go on the ONE you're going to feel that price difference all over again...
No front suspension? what gives
So no front suspension available at the moment. The tires do a great job of absorbing some of the impact. Not 100% of course. I also have a Velotric T1 ST which also doesn’t have a suspension. I love both bikes (so far).
The One is definitely best suited for riding on paved surfaces as well as hard packed smooth dirt paths.
What is the range? Would be nice to have a second battery on the down tube. What is the point of having a nice bike, but can't go the distance with it?
So I’ll be doing a full range test as well as endurance hill climb test over the next couple weeks. Lectric lists a theoretical range of 60 miles on PAS 1/2 and throttle only range of 20 miles. I’ll be testing those figures out of course.
@@tomsgadgetgarage Aniioki has the awesome giant 52V 60 AH battery, but it is still on a chain drive and no internal gear hub. Now if only Lectric can stick a huge battery the One e-bike, Lectric would have the absolute best e-bike around until someone else uses the same e-bike, but with the P1.9 Pinion gear hub.
@@danstenis660 haha yah I’ve seen that bike. If I had a bike with a battery that large, I’d combine my range test and 17 mile hill climb test in a single ride haha.

Nice! Hold the rear gear shift lever for 3-4 seconds. A blue light will start pulsing in the pinion gear unit. You’ll need to do this every time you want to connect the app.

No suspension on this one. Surprisingly comfortable though with the 20”x2.5” tires. Maybe the next iteration will have something.
3 questions:
Does the cadence sensor allow for a natural feeling ride?
Does the frame size feel small?
Can you get a workout and go fast without ghost pedaling?
I would say it’s more natural feeling than my other Lectric bike, the XP 3.0. Power delivery is very smooth. My preference is PAS 2 cruising around at around 15mph. At that level and speed, I feel like I’m putting in some effort while still being very relaxed, as in I could ride for hours. For me, that’s the most natural feel. When I get into PAS 3 and go up to 20 mph, I do get some ghost pedaling at around 19-20mph. It could be because I prefer a slower cadence.
The frame feels great, thanks to the adjustable handlebars and seat. Doesn’t feel small when riding it.

I just wish Lectric would consider full suspension. Idk why they are so anti-suspension? This bike would be perfect if it had it.
Yah a suspension would be nice. I’m hoping they offer an upgraded suspension fork in the future.
Adds too much weight and cost. It’s not needed for non mountain bikes, maybe just a front suspension fork but even that isn’t really necessary.
@@Victor-kh5rh Anything that goes over 20mph needs suspension.
@@iwasframed1370 and the Lectric one is class two by default. Even my class 3 gazelle only has a suspension fork, and it’s plenty. Full suspension on a non mountain bike is not needed at all.
