I say buy a Lectric brand with confidence. Last year I purchased the 2.0 Lectric eBike. I have nothing to compare it to as this is my first and only eBike so far. That said, I'm very happy with my eBike, and highly impressed with Lectric and how responsive they've been consistently. Short support story. In October this year, suddenly my eBike would not power on. I did my own basic troubleshooting and decided to reach out to Lectric support. It was about 3pm(ish) on a Saturday right before Columbus day Monday. So I decided NOT to call, I figured late Saturday we probably would not get far anyway, so I decide to write a detailed email of what I was experiencing and what I'd tried so far. I sent the email thinking I'd follow up with a phone call Monday or Tuesday morning, and reference the email. Once sent, I started focusing on some other chores around the RV (I'm a fulltime RVer) and (no kidding) about *15 minutes* after I sent the email my phone was ringing. I looked at my phone and I could see it was Lectric calling me. I answered, and the lady on the other end explained she'd read my email, and asked if I was near the eBike and interested in walking through some troubleshooting steps. I told her: "That was fast! I didn't expect a call back today". She responded with: "I knew we (Lectric) were getting ready to close for the long weekend, and figured I should see if I could get you going before everyone goes home." I'll say she was VERY knowledgeable, patient, and thorough. She helped me identify that the controller/screen had gone bad, and said that they'd ship me out a replacement no charge. The part showed up in a reasonable amount of time, I installed it, and I'm back on the road. With service like that, it's hard to want to go with anyone else. The eBike is great, and with the high fuel prices these days, I use it more than ever. So for me it has real utility.

My experience with Lectric is that their communication is very poor. Out of all the emails, site forms, etc., I've sent them, they've replied to just one. When I tried calling them, the automated reply said wait time at that time was at least one hour. I've read where others have had the same experience. Not good.

I have a 2.0. 2 things you should have mentioned. 1) the bike comes assembled. Many videos I watch the bike is a pile of parts. 2) a quality ebike at that price allowed me to spend $300 on needed add ons. A good lock, a pack/panniers for stuff, mirror and suntour ncx suspension seatpost is as good as rear suspension.

Black Friday sale on the Premium is $1600.00 and you get extras. The Tourney derailleur is not the best choice for the XPremium. First thing I swapped was from the Tourney to the Altus short cage derailleur for a much better working system. Keep in mind, a mid drive bike is much like a manual shift car. Gotta keep the gears in the sweet spot based on speed and load. A better derailleur helps this bike immensely!

That's why I'm really excited about the new crowdfunding project from freebeat called the Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike. The fact that it can be charged when using indoor mode is a game-changer! Not only does it offer a smooth riding experience with its powerful motor and suspension, but it also incorporates fitness and technology seamlessly. The Smart Saddle Detection+ feature is a standout, providing performance insights and motivation. And the idea of converting indoor workout energy into CO2-free miles for outdoor rides is truly remarkable. Can't wait to support this project and get my hands on the Morph eBike!

The Lectric Models are value-oriented, entry-level e-bikes. If you have never ridden an e-bike and hop on one of these, you will feel like you have a Superpower.....and will enjoy every minute of your ride. The cost of e-bikes rose during and after the pandemic....but with models just under $1000, these e-bikes still present a great ride experience on a budget. You really should consider an Ebike - But you shouldn't consider buying one without looking into DIY kits. They are simple to install (plug and play wiring) and you can get twice the bike for half the cost of a manufactured brand name. I built a 48v/1000w bike with a 52v/20ah battery for about $700 - that will do (throttle only) 30mph with about a 30 mile range (at 15 mph -throttle only, range is about 70 miles) - and climbs hills at 15-20 mph.
The main issue with kits is figuring out where to mount the battery and controller - but there are several solutions. If you want performance over labeling - go with a kit.

They are cheap but understand you will only get around 22 miles on a full battery with limited assistance. I have two brand new bikes and had to spend an additional $650 to get enough milage to run our favorite trail. The bikes are very heavy but hold up nicely.

I just had my step over 3.0 XP delivered to me not long ago.
I got to say, I love it! I chose that design because I like how it looks. Lol. I bought the holiday bundle from Lectric.
Best thousand bucks I ever spent. I'm going to purchase a second battery and we will be good to go.
it'll all pay off in the long run because to hell with these gas prices!

The Lectric bike is great till something goes wrong and if you are not able to work on it yourself, well, good luck finding a bike shop that will work on it. I have tried 8 or more bike shops to work on my 3.0 and none of them will touch it. They only work on bikes that they sell. That is what all bike shops will tell you. One mobile shop did try to fix it but did not succeed. So, before you buy this bike, check around to see if there is a shop that will touch it, even if you have a flat, etc. And they totally do not have parts for the bike. Shops have no way to diagnose the Lectric bike problem. With their bikes they just plug in a diagnostic tool and it tells them what the problem is. These Lectric bikes are made in China. Also, if there is a problem with the bike when you first get it out of the box, they do not allow you to return the bike like Amazon or other retailers would allow you to. They just want to send you the most vulnerable parts for you to replace and hopefully fix your own problem or haul it around and try to find a shop to fix it.

Heybikes are pretty awesome and very simular to Lectric but different and around the same bang for buck price point. I like both but prefer the Heybike Ranger step through frame and price point to me is the overall best bang for your buck.

Love everything about the bike. My hesitation in buying one is with theft. I would have it decked out for carrying things from the hardware or grocery store. However, while inside, where i live that bike wouldn't last 5 minutes before it was stolen. How big of a chain would i have to wrap the bike in to ensure it was still there when i came out. Bugs me that i even have to think like that 😟

These look great. But I can’t help but wonder about the small wheel diameter concerning stability. I think larger wheels would be much more stable. I’m thinking of buying a couple e-bikes for my wife and I to pull our fishing cart a few miles down the beach since we’re getting up in age and with the bad knees, we can no longer get to our favorite fishing spots. You think these bikes would be good for a couple miles down the beach and back? Obviously hard sand is easy, but can’t guarantee we won’t have to deal with softer sand. Thanks! Mark. PS, I keep picturing me driving the 3.0, with my wife on the back while pulling our fishing cart, hilarious 😂

I’m 80 and just got the 3.0 I’ve had it a few weeks and absolutely love it. I can’t believe how well made it is and zero assembly was fantastic. The hydraulic brakes are great. I’ve been a biker for years but peddling has become too much for my old knees, I can ghost pedal this bike and go 25 mph….the service people are so friendly and helpful. I added a large basket and bell, and received some free accessories from lectrik. Two of my Florida cronies are getting the same bike and we are starting our own electric bike club! Wish I ordered the extended battery. Only con is the awkward position of the key. Frankly it worries me that the key placement issue is a con in every review and the company has ignored the problem. I suppose it’s because the contract they have for the battery/s have the key hole in the bottom of the battery.

I've been happy with the performance of the batteries in all of our Lectric bikes. We charge them as needed, which is generally about 1 time every 2 weeks. I also assume almost all eBikes batteries are Chinese made.

Thanks, nice informative video. Just what I needed to come to a conclusion. The price and features are nice for price point. I'm looking at the trike. I need fat tires, other than that it's what the doctor ordered. I have tera trike, recumbent, no electric. Tera trike high price, this trike not recumbent. When your wife can be tippy, the husband wants dirt trails, need fat tires. Thanks for the thoughts.

We're in our early 60's and have never owned an e-bike and honestly haven't ridden our regular bikes in a few years but love to go camping and it would be nice to go exploring with a little or a lot of help. I see all these reviews by you and other channels which is fine. But I have not seen one by someone that is 70 plus years years old. Can they really pick these things up and load them to a 40" plus height ? Maybe it would help if you would remove the battery first, then reload it or store it safely ? I am considering one to buy now for our winter trip.

I'm in my early 60s and my wife and I use Specialized bikes entry-level mountain bike. It is really closer to a hybrid since it doesn't have a suspension fork. They are heavy but I would suggest ramps that should make it work. There are several types of racks available to handle heavy e bikes. We always peddle but we love the assist when we go up steep and winding roads in Western Arkansas. Hope that helps.
I agree that these are a great value. But they don't fit our needs as we need the 27.5 inch tires for our road rides on both pavement and gravel roads.

    • @jeffpurdy2347
      @jeffpurdy2347 2 ปีที่แล้ว

They will be too heavy for one person to lift. Either fold them up and place in a plastic tote. Then you get on each side and lift. Or you need to find the racks that people use for dirt bikes. They are drive up on with no lifting.

I am 78, have had it a little over a year. i use it mainly to go to the grocery store. I live full time in a motor home. The two baskets are great with the addition of cargo nets. I tow a pickup behind.when it comes time to travel I tie it down with straps like motorcycle. Loading an unloading is usually real easy, someone always seems to be watching an come over to help load n unload..I have ordered their new trike do to my lack of stability at times, not the bikes fault. I have the xp 2.0 . Well worth the money.

Good review! I’m thinking about getting the smaller 3.0 as a second eBike, to take with me, camping. I have a Cyrusher Kommoda, which I love, but it’s big and I worry about it getting stolen. A smaller bike and can stick in the camper or the back of my Yukon when I go to town, etc. does anyone have two for the same reason?
