A close friend gave me a CZ-75 SP01 as my birthday gift years ago. Absolutely loved that gun. After watching your video, I just bought a P-09 today. I'm sure it won't disappoint me.

@@Catgat37 A very complex one. I'm in Canada, so the magazine capacity / easy to carry does not apply to my P09. Trigger-wise, it definitely needs a trigger job done. If you are using the gun out of the box, I'd prefer a conventional CZ75 or even P10 over a P09. However, still reasonably user friendly. I'd say it's on par with HK USP overall.
@@owenli5575 I did get one 3 days after this comment. The first trip out was meh. After getting some more trigger time with it, I like it. Bought a P01 yesterday and the verdict is still out on it. Short of the sao shadow 2, the P10C is my favorite CZ that I have handled. I don't know what it is about it. I usually like all metal guns 🤷♂️
Former 1911 guy that now runs both the 09 and the 07. With the safety option and the ergonomic it was a no brainier.
I just picked up a P09. Your the first to say what you said about comparing it to the 1911. I agree 100%. I was looking at some of Double Stack 9mm 1911's but couldn't justify the cost. This P09 feels like a 1911 in my hands.
I just bought the exact same gun P-09 in OD green. It is gorgeous and I'm still drooling over it. I have Czech in my family heritage and live in Kansas City, so it seemed appropriate.
Loved the video. The shooting action was some of the best I've seen in my TH-cam gun research.

Love my p07, was one of my first handguns. Such a nice shooter and with the taller frame and less slide it helps with finding a comfortable spot to put your support hand thumb especially with big hands.
My first CZ purchase was the P-10C. Fell in love. I have a P-09 on order. Should be here any day.
I've lost count how many CZ's I own/owned lol, definitely a great platform.
Picked up a used P-07 duty (1st gen) and started shooting it more than my G19! Saw a great sale for the P-09 and jumped on it! Can't wait to get it to the range!
What a beautiful CZ P-09 in OD Green!!! And with that flashlight is gorgeous. I have this pistol in back finish and I love it. As yours, my P-09 was the gateway drug into the world of CZ. I also have a P-07 Kadet (in .22 LR) and P-10F. Great guns! Greetings from Argentina!
I got a chance to take a buddies P-09 .40 to the range a while back and i liked it so much that within a week i bought a P-09 of my own (in 9mm of course). Now im starting to look into holster options to make it part of my carry rotation.

I have owned one of these for quite a few years and out of the 60 plus handguns I own it is one of my favorites... Also have the 22 conversion kit for it which is very accurate and reliable... I am and have always been a fan of traditional double action hammer fired pistols... Also another brand that is a good clone of the CZ design are the pistols from TriStar... I have several of those and they seem to be very good quality Firearms so far.

My first cz was a fully cajun gun works p09. Then I got a p07 and then a shadow 2. Cz pistols are amazing.

I have a P01&SP01 and a little trick on working the slide is to get a little bit of the rear sight when racking it. This works for a full rack and hitting a reload.
Another tip for those who are new to CZ, when field stripping 1/2 cock the hammer and when you pull the slide back to remove the takedown pin the slide shuld line up when it hits the hammer (have seen gunsmiths struggle with takedowns).

I’m a CZ lover! I currently own 6 but always looking at more! I have heard them referred to as the gun world’s best kept secret and the gun world’s cheat code mainly to the reliability and accuracy I’m sure. I first purchased the SP01 Tactical Urban Gray Suppressor Ready, then the PCR, a 97 BD (greatest shooting 45acp) 2 Shadow 2s (the Single Action Only and the Urban Gray) then lastly I purchased the P07 which is why I’m looking at the P09😂 I love most of the CZ lineup and once you buy one it definitely opens up the gateway to wanting more! I have both the P09 and P07. Love both guns. As far as holsters go, the Blackhawk T2 or T3 with TLR1 light, the one for full size Glock w/ TLR1 light fits perfect. I carry the P09 on duty with this holster. The P07 fits the Safariland duty holster for the Sig P229 w/ TLR1 light as well. The P09 also fits in the safariland duty holster for the Sig P226 w/TLR1 light. Thanks for the review.

Bought the same one & color about 6 months ago... I’ve since converted 🙄. P09 for my war belt pistol & bought a p07 tactical for my edc- had jagerwerks do an rmr cut & cerekote. Highly recommend.
I shot my first Cz the other day at the range,what an amazing trigger on these guns come stock.I was blown away.I couldn’t believe also how accurate the gun was.I will definitely be getting me a Cz in the near future!!!!
I've had one for 4yrs. never had a glitch.
My first CZ was the TSO and I found myself getting a Shadow 2, both being used for competition. I like the Shadow 2 more, so much so I'm looking up the P09 as a lighter alternative and would like to add an optic on it. If you haven't already, try the Shadow 2 and then try a modded shadow 2

I sold my 75pre-B, 97, 2075 RAMI, 70, to make way for some Glocks, Walther's, H&K, classic P2XX Sig Sauers. I will keep my vz52 7.62x25T fire breather. Its too much fun.
Now the P-09 in Black, suppressor ready w/tall night sights, 2- 21round magazines is coming home at 499.99 clams.
Great to be retired and being able to buy, try, compare for myself, all the while looking for the best, to me ergonomically and performance.

This P-09 is the most accurate, bullseye pistol stock, straight out of the box ive experienced in 50 years of shooting. I think the only change I will make is a green fiber optic front sight . Its fantastic.

As someone who wears headphones all day, this video needs better audio mixing, the range shots are way too loud and the talking is too quiet, found myself lowering and raising volume the whole video, perfect video beyond that, thanks for work and research you out into it!
Love my p09. Absolutely amazing gun. Love shooting it. I want a p07. Also love the p10f and p10c I've had. P10f is the best duty striker fired gun out of the box
I'm a Proud owner of the P-09.. I bought it in 2016, with about 1600 rounds through it. No failures to speak of. It was so nice I also bought the 75bd. Safe to say I'm a CZ Fan Man.
Amazing handgun. One of the best handguns I've ever shot. It performed better than my Jericho 941.
I recently bought a CZP09 I do not like the double action trigger pull. I have my name on the waiting list with Cajun gun works after they work there magic on it.
I'm getting a new adjustable trigger and all internal parts changed. I think it will be a keeper.

P-10 & P-07 are great guns.
P07 was my first. And is completely cajunized with a rmr. And it won't be my last!
CZ P09 is my favorite polymer full size handgun period. Own 3 of them. Nothing shoots like a P09. Aftermarket is actually good with the P09 & P07. Yes a custom kydex holster will be the way to go, but as for performance parts, Cajun Gun Works has it all if wanted.
Once I went TDA I never looked back at striker or Single action. I have a feeling you’re headed down the same road.
I own the P09 Tactical version suppressor ready, high sights, extended 21 round mag in the urban grey, it is my favorite full sized pistol, I love it. I believe the night sights are Israeli made, I forget the name. I also love the old legendary CZ 75 and the P10 is awesome but I do agree the stipling is to aggressive. By the way I have neither a beanie or glasses ;)

I’m buying a cz p09 tactical today, I recently bought the CZ shadow 2 compact and CZ shadow 2 orange. I love the shadows but wish they had decockers like the p09.
I own 2 p20 c one of which I carry as my duty weapon, I will be certifying on my P 09 and buying another p 09. I own a p 10f I own a 75 shadow orange and a 75 bd in 45 acp.
Owning a total of 80 weapons ( about and even mix or rifles shotguns and handguns… roughly) in a wide variety of mfg. I can honestly attest CZ makes on if the finest Handguns produced. Reliable, ergonomic, trigger, accurate, sights, bore axis, recoil!

Great video as always, one of the most underrated guns and gear channels on youtube. Just a friendly suggestion on something I picked up... When you transition from your rifle to your handgun, you have a bit of a habit of putting your finger on your pistol's trigger very early. Just something to pay attention to.

It’s still a great gun, but through no fault of its own, I ended up selling it. I just found that I wasn’t using it much and I needed to fund another gun purchase.
It’s funny what you said about the gateway drug being a cz.
While I appreciate the Glock legend, I never fell in love with that trigger. I love the 1911 trigger and Browning HP grip angle, this might be my future.

Since the Czech Republic borders Austria, a Glock owner ignoring CZ because it's a European brand seems a bit silly. Nice review of the CZ P-09. I am planning to purchase my first 9mm pistol, & the P-09 is near the top of my list. DA/SA is the most appealing feature to me over most striker fire guns.

The omega trigger is surprisingly easy to work on yourself. Dude, throw some Cajun parts in that thing!

Which parts are reported to need replacing? Trigger is perfect for me. I heard some where that a Roll Pin needs replacing.
I am not concern with lightening trigger or reset.
Need to upgrade the the firing pin rolled retainer pin and trigger return spring in these guns. They will prematurely break on you making the gun inoperable. That’s why I stopped carrying them for EDC and switched back to Glock.

If you can find one, I highly recommend the CZ SP01 phantom that is a awesome weapon
I’m actually not a fan of the Polymer 75 series guns. They don’t feel right to me.

If you are anything like me I hated the rubber grips on the p01 check out lok grips!
At 7:25 mark you mention the P09 is similar to the Omega trigger system. The P09 has the Omega trigger system. So, it's not similar, it does have it.

I have a P09, I think the trigger is very sloppy. Lots of take up before the trigger breaks, I guess there's always Cajun Gun Works, put i can tell you for the price there are better pistols available.... I also don't like the small slide, it is a bit more challenging to work the slide. I do agree the sights are good and very easy to get on target quickly.

@@PeacemakerPL At the time I had it no one made a level 2 retention holster for the P10C with a light and optic, more specifically Safariland ALS. Not sure if available now as it is more popular. Also i couldn't get replacement parts like pins, springs etc. I always have spares so when something is worn or breaks I can simply replace parts and not have a paperweight while waiting weeks to have something shipped. Up until the current issue were facing I could rebuild a G17/G19 with the new parts I could pick up locally... anything I needed could be found. If I couldnt find it locally I could have it in a matter of 2 days with overnight shipping. I tried finding replacement pins for the CZ and could only find them thru CZ....and they were out of stock without a foreseeable date when new pins would become available. Again ...I liked it, but at the time I was shooting at least 2 times a week, depending on training, classes and for fun. Some weeks I could shoot 1k rounds or more, parts just get worn and need to be replaced before the break. I will say that CZ replaced a broken firing pin in it in a matter of a few days under warranty.
@@justinm.791 I thought you are talking about P09 not P10C, but I got You. Well, here in Europe it is probably a little different story, but I know what you mean. In fact, you got now CZ Custom or CZ USA, so it shouldn't be any problems now? Anyway I also thinking about spare parts for P07/P09, because of wearing dry fire parts. And yea, Glock's are also great guns which I find hard ($$$) way trying very different options and trying to decide what I really like most haha! So, be safe out there and keep training with whatever you got !

The P320 will definitely have a better support infrastructure. Good luck finding any good retention holsters for a P-09 with a weapon light.

How well does the surefire X300UA fit on the CZ P09?
Do you ever have trouble with the high thumbs forward grip given the size of the decocker and slide stop ?
I’ve never had issues on any CZs with my hands getting in the way of the controls. I have had issues on other guns (Sig 226, makarovs, to name a couple) but not on CZs.
So for a full size duty gun to go with the P01, look at the Phantom! I like it way more than my P09! Better grip for small hands and way more after market!
My local gun smith up here in Vancouver Washington refused to do a slide cut on mine, where are you at in Oregon I would like to get a price quote from your gun smith on it, I do travel down to Drain area quite often so if your on my way.

I have the p09 but when I try to put 19 rounds in, it's very hard to do. I wonder if that's normal or if anyone else has experienced this issue.

The P09 was my first, then a 07, then the P10, and lastly the P10S witch has become my edc. Not a hipster. ☺

No issues. I had the gun optics cut and ran several hundred more rounds through it. I unfortunately recently sold it though.

Can you switch the slide release to the right side I’m wrong handed and if not for those who are lefty’s and used this handgun is it easy to use your trigger finger or your support pointer and yes I’ve seen people who are trained use their pointer finger to make the slide go home if that makes sense
It can't be switched to the other side. The mag release is reversible though.

Need help brother! Just bought same OD green p-09 and surefire x300u-a. The surefire does not fit the rail with either attachment. My old x300 fits everything with U attachment. Anyone else have issues like this?
A few of the P-09s I’ve put X300s on had a very tight fit. We basically just crammed it on.
@@OreGear Thanks. My x300u-A was very lose on many of my other pistols and wobbly on my new p-09. I sent to surefire to check it out. My old x300 swaps to all pistols fine. I have another x300u-B and that is much better fit on my p-09. I got OD just like yours. cannot wait to shoot it!
