      A properly tuned 944T can beat many Ferrari's on the track thanks to superior cornering (up to 1.25G in the turns, from suspension modifications), and the 2.5, 2.7 or 3.0 engines tuned to >400 wheel hp. i was in a 944 pushing 600hp. My 968 is running 530hp from a 388c.i. Chevy LS7 and 200mph gearbox.

    I own two 944s and they are stupid reliable as long as you DRIVE THEM!! Old cars need to be driven to stay lubed. My Wife's daily is a 944 S2 and I just finished rebuilding the engine in our Turbo S. Bad head gasket but I redid the heads since it was 30 years old, runs great now and these are great drivers cars!! The transmission is in the back so "perfect" 50/50 weight distribution. By the way, I'm 6'4" and 280 and I fit very well in this car! Way better than my '89 Range Rover!!!

    @WatchJRGo: Love seeing you get past 200k. Taking the leap forced on you by your employer etc. I really like how you give quick facts on when you do small jobs. Like how long it took to do line replacement. How long to replace injectors and test etc. I think you could make short snipit videos of each small fix. When someone gets an old accord and has to replace that line, they will search exact terms. "Honda Accord, replace X" do do a 3 minute video of just that fix from that video. When you fix a handful of things on each car, make each thing you fix on that car searchable. So you can potentially 2x or 3x your views for just naming the fix and making a short snippet video on that. Just a thought. Want to see you succeed. You seem honest and sincere and that is what people value. Thank you.

    "Better Miata except for the parts." Yep. I've seen a few sub $1k ones pop up in my market but as soon as I research parts cost I decide to pass. I've also read you need to buy some expensive proprietary tools to do the timing belt "correctly".

      @RobJaskula 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The hatch button is cable controlled and can be very finicky. Get it open with the key, make sure the drains go to the ground, use penetrating lube to free up the latches. After you get it to work well with the key, then you can mess with fine tuning for the button in the cabin. Also make sure you spray some lube on the hood release components. I've seen them brake. Always have a fire extinguisher! There was a recall on the fuel hoses, but they are now old enough that they need replaced again. If you have a fuel line fail, it goes straight onto the headers and catches fire.

    For the rear hatch release you may need to bend the contact points so they touch the actuator motor.
    I owned a white 944 Turbo for 12 years. Great car! i regret selling it.

    Fuel Injector tip: Remove the O-Ring and plastic cap (usually sold as a kit anyway.) If it's got mesh fuel socks into the inlet, order and replace as well Most of the time these are all available as a kit.
    Get a can of carb cleaner and use your power supply with the sock(s) removed. Power the injector while blowing out the injector with the carb cleaner being sprayed into it.
    Clean up the mess, new rings/plastic 'hood' and mesh sock. Good to go! Of course use common sense and be careful!

    You have to make train or airplane noises when spoon feeding injectors. It adds horsepower.

    If I could work on the Porche 944s with Watch JR Goes and Joshs I would drink the cold Bartle Skeets and roll up the fat Woolford and get all schmoked up.

    I use to have same make and model car. It was so fun to drive but it had issues. One day it would run fine, next day wouldnt start. Many trips to the auto shop. I kept getting told it was burning through coils and had electrical issue no one seemed to be able to find. I wound up selling it for just a few hundred dollars. Wish I still had that car:)

    I have always kind of wanted one of these. They have it in turbo as well. You can do a lot of mods to make these really really fast actually.

    I really hope you throw a couple Ebay turbo's on it, reinforce the block, and go for a TH-cam record dyno for the 944. That is a video that will get 10 million views easy. As Emperor Palpatine said....... DO IT!!!
