Mr Handyman...your a GD Genius. I'm a 50 something lady. I searched high and low how to use this SAME sprayer (but for furniture) and coundn't find anything useful. You did a FANTASTIC job step by step putting together and re putting back after cleaning. I would HAVE NEVER been able to do my project without your video. And I do not give many shout outs -- you definetly deserve one!! Bless you (Charleston, SC) - Goose
Orifice dim....5/64. - 2mm. I've painted several hundred sq. feet of house with no tooling to the gun. Yes, I had to thin the Kiltz primer. So it will actually work as is. Also painted doors wich are fun and not a headache with a gun. Now, with the 2mm orfice, I'm able to use thicker paint, less water, a big plus!! I lowered the PSI as much as I could along with the fan adjustment to 4-6in. pattern... less overspray and a thicker layer. It takes more swipes but nice and thick. When I drilled out the gun I used a new bit and my mini laith. One other thing you can do is refinish the needle if rough. 6-800 dimond stone. Mounted to drill And or polish it. I do this with my small fine air brush. Its also worth getting a small regulator to attach just aft. the gun H.Freight has them. Best tool at that store vs the money. No kidding!!!!
This sounds crazy but it comes from another TH-cam video, to think your paint use the blue windshield wiper fluid. I use it every time with this hplv gun and the results are amazing.
I use the HF purple gun for automotive primer, if it breaks I just go buy another. I have painted a motorcycle or three with it years ago, works ok for what it is.
Good video. I have the same hf spray guns along others that I have using for twenty years. Number 1,rule keep them clean. If the gun is going to be be stored for more than a day after I clean it put a few dropa of air tool oil in pickup and run air thru it when you use it again run mineral spirts or a degreaser thru it to clean the oil and any dirt. good idea - when im done with mine ill do the same - my other one i run lacquer thinner thru it and then store it - the needle i use a bit of compressor oil on it so it does not rust - then when i use it again i run lacquer thinner thru it to start.
Im doing my research for good spraygun that requires a compressor I refinish furniture.this video helped alot what air compressor do you recommend for this purple sprayer i have no clue about them.😅 i tried the regular guns with different brands but had no luck they keep blocking paint.thanks
I am not sure what to tell you as a minimum but I would get a decent sized compressor - You could do fine with a 30 gallon or more type of compressor - I suggest a 2 stage one where the motor and compressor on top of the unit - If you have a problem it is easier to replace one or the other - You want something that will not have to cycle on and off every few seconds so a larger unit will be a benefit here because the spray gun does use a lot of air if you are spraying furniture.

Let us know how it turns out and how much work it was..... and if you think they bids two high... $3000 to paint all that? Give me a break.
5/64” drill bit?
Yes, 2 mm. The stock hole is 1.4 mm.
i was cleaning mine yesterday and a small O ring fell out! Where did it come from? Thanks
Take a look at the instructions that came with it for a picture showing all the parts that make up the gun or google search the HF HVLP gun diagram
could not find replacement tips for that gun😏😏
Why didn't you putty over the metal straps?
I am going to replace them with a decorative type thick metal L bracket but i could have your right
If you want a job done right...seems you have to do it yourself nowadays 👍🍻
Doing it myself not only saved me money but i did not skimp on paint to make more profit and by taking my time it did and does turn out much better
👍🏻👏👏👏✊
Just make your Son paint your house, he has nothing else to do, I just see him online playing video games
Wrong son then as mine is in college and works.............
