I got playstation 5 slim a week ago. I am glad I didn't get the original because it's so big. The slim is cute, and I have it set it up vertically with a stand that also can charge the controller. I wanted an xbox x since I had an xbox 360 dacade ago. But I like the playstation exclusive games like God of War or Spiderman. I made the right choice. I tried some games on it. Wow! I was impressed! I got this disk version. It makes sense to get the disk version, I don't get why anyone would get just the digital version. What if you run out of storage? It's great to have the option you can buy disk, you can sell them. I was worried about the disk noice. But it goes away after a minute or after you start playing a disk game. Yes, it is worth it! Get it! It looks great! If you don't have a playstation 5 yet and you want one.. get the slim! It's a lot smaller, and it takes very little space when It's on a vertical stand.
I just got my slim a few days ago. I have a series X as I loved Gamepass back on the Xbox One, but those exclusives on playstation definitely made me think it was an error in Judgement at times. Now there is Wukong coming. I finally took the plunge. Spiderman 2, God Of War, Stella Blade are also all on my wishlist, and unfortunately, they'll never make it to Xbox.
Started TLOU2 on a regular PS5 and completed it on a PS5 Slim😉😉😉 By the way great game. Don't let those who talk shit about the story decide whether or not you are gonna play it. I listened to that narrative and skipped that game. Finally got it on deep sale and played it and absolutely loved it.
Had the PS5 for almost a year. Nice, lovely console so far. Looking forward to Cyberpunk Project: Orion and Witcher 4, and Witcher 1 Remake when they eventually release if they release on current gen. Heard UE5 is still being worked on. Maybe next gen would be better.
I've got a slim in the post and can't wait. I was especially grateful on advice for transfer of profile data etc as I've bought quite a lot of games from PSN so transferring all that info is very helpful. I got bit with this from Xbox 360, having games like Radiant Silvergun (and missing it!) but not upgrading to Xbox one and forgetting my information I've lost access to my old gamertag and all the items I'd bought with it, so don't want to get burned again. Also love how the Slim is so serviceable and accessible to clean and maintain. I have just had a PS4 Pro disk drive stop accepting and ejecting disks and it is a nightmare to get to parts and clean it, and yes the turn screw for ejecting is not working on my drive, it's not manually spitting out the disk no matter what so the Slim being recently released I thought I'd just upgrade. I think I'll keep my Pro and turn it into a emulation console.
I think I find a error in the video, I'm not sure but I think you can save your game progress, you must go under Setting>System>System software>back up and resorte>Back up your PS5. I don't have testing this but I think it works. I don't have a second PS5😢😅 In the "Back up your PS5" setting you can decide what you want safe, you have this 4 options. Game and apps Save data screenshot and video clips settings On the option "game and apps" you can choose which game progress you want save, but Here Is as slightly problem, games like bf2042 or COD Warzone you need to save the full game, bf2042 80gb, and for COD warzone 190gb, this is only slightly problem because this game save the progress in the own server, and I think this cause the problem, I think games like anthem, bf1,bfV, Gran Turismo Sport, the finals end a plug tail requiem have the same problem but this game are not so big "only" 1gb, but supposed to be 50 mb, Cyberpunk, the entropy Center, the Riftbreaker end necromunda Hair Gun have the same problem like bf2042, you need to back up the full game, but this game don't have the saving on the own server, the other 100 game have normal size.
The microphone mute option right when you turn on the Sony PlayStation 5 is a great option to have. I have the first day launch PlayStation 5 and I love It. The PlayStation 5 slim looks great and better compared to other slim models that Sony has made before. Cool video. ^_^
There's some misinformation in this video. Contrary to what Ryan states, cloud storage is not the only way to get PS5 saves off of a console, although Sony would happily have you believe that. You can do a system backup of just the system settings/save data (a couple of GBs, tops) if you back up all the games on internal storage to USB or M.2 SSD first (basically it backs up everything on internal storage if you don't, which can result in huge backups which takes hours and renders the console that's doing it single task, unable to do anything else). You don't need PS Plus, necessarily, which is great for people like me who don't need it. I'd rather save money for games on sale; gaming doesn't need to be a massively expensive hobby nor require a monthly subscription. When I went from OG to Slim most of my games were already on the M.2 SSD and the few that were on internal storage could be manually moved to a USB3 hard drive, so with the internal storage clear (I even deleted old game video captures) I was able to simply back up the system settings/save data (for everything - PS4/PS5/PS Classics) and console settings to a FAT32 formatted USB3 stick I share between my PS3/PS4 which only took like, 5 minutes. You restore the system setting/save data from the old PS5 first, the M.2 SSD has your games, for any that don't fit a USB3 hard drive can put them back on the internal SSD as needed, in my case giving me 2TB to play with (most of the free space is on the internal SSD). M.2 SSDs aren't locked to a specific console so you can move them freely between PS5s - obviously they need to be using the same PSN ID for game registration (or another account that owns the same game from the same region - game title ID needs to match). For anyone who bothered to read this whole thing asking "well why didn't you transfer console to console using Sony's built-in feature", I tried. The two step process failed on step two and even step one didn't even copy across the system settings properly so it was a waste of time and ended up taking longer than my entire manual backup process, with more steps and more faffing around getting the two PS5s to see each other and rebooting etc I had a feeling it wouldn't work because I've never had luck using the older version of the same feature on PS3/PS4. I'm sure for most people this sort of thing is "useless information", but to be honest the amount of times I've had my tech problems solved by similarly "useless information" one person who had the same very specific problem and bothered to post a solution to Reddit or whatever, maybe this is the same deal. Who knows
I got the Spidey 2 version of the PS5 a few months ago. It was pretty good and I like it. I am glad I got the original model before the slim came out. I have always preferred the originals in any video game console. That said, enjoy your slims if you got one. You are in for a real treat!
Same It’s so beautiful I just be looking at it sometimes lol I admit I didn’t like the design of it at first reveal but having it in person is different it’s so quiet too especially reading installing discs.
Thanks for the video Ryan it's been a great help and great timing as I just got my PS5 this week after thinking about it for a long while (your videos helped me decided to get one) as I've been a subscriber of yours for just over three years.
I’m sad that the “slim” exist (cause it’s now the standard), but if my PS5 ever malfunctions, I hope it does by the time the PS5 Pro is available. Something similar happened on PS4 when the original model tuned into a VTOL JET! 🛩️
All the PS4 models are noisy, even when they're clean. I was always able to hear the OG PS4, PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro (worst offender) when they'd been on a few hours. The Slim was the least worst, but it's still noiser than the loudest PS5 (the OG 1000 series). Having said that, you should take the panels off and clean your PS5, the fins on the front and back gather dust like crazy, and at the least blow compressed air into the fan, both sides. They designed the thing to have this bare minimum level of maintenance done so it doesn't overheat as it ages. It's a lot easier to get to the fan on a PS5 than a PS4 or PS3 (OG PS3s are a nightmare to disassemble).
Saw your video while ago But didn't click on until I bought ps5 I was lucky enough to get my hands on spider man 2 limited edition Still in the box Now I'm enjoying this video Also I know Ps5 pro maybe coming soon But it's ok because there will be Vary little distance
Well I wouldn't say its boring about Sony PlayStation 5 rundown,I have PS5 og was thinking returning it and get the PS5 Slim, just because it's slightly smaller easier to fit places and 1TB that's the only reason,I was told to keep the 'PS5 og' good video because gives indepth details of the PS5 console...👍
I’m still waiting for a reason to get a ps5. I see them stocked in every big box store now, but I just look at the games available and just shrug. Already have a PC, steamdeck and a wonderful ps4 collection. I love the effort you put into these types of videos though, and especially your ps4 content.
This Christmas 2024 I’ll be getting a PlayStation 5 slim console I truly can’t wait been waiting patiently to get PS5, I since I’m a OG on disk drives I probably buy one just for add on along with extra dullshock controller, anyway this some great advice on this video.
Haha XD XD , u just posted this videos before 4 months and i got the ps5 slime before 2 months , and thank u for this video ! Better than others saying like : shapes , small , bla bla bla bla … but u … really appreciate it !! and about the setting , wow I know it before I watch any of your videos or anyone !! Because first thing i did when I bought it i went to settings , yea … anyway thanks partner .
Omg i was sad there wasnt any Little Big Planet sequels after 3 when i looked at ps5 games online. Now i see you plugging one in! Im extra excited now to get a ps5!!!
This video was of great help. I am going to get a PS5 Slim(instead of a pro…). Last PS I had was the PS one so I am excited. I like that the slim is a bit smaller so I can have my Series X on one side and the slim on the other and my PC on the floor.
Love the fan cleaning tip. That's definitely something PS5 has over Series X. (I just got my PS5 as Wukong and Stella Blade look awesome). I did commit the crime of 3rd party plates in Matt Black. They aren't the cheapest I saw and are pretty well fitting. I'm not a fan of white, honestly. My other electronics are all in black, so I wanted it in line with those. I also bought myself a starlight blue dual sense as again I'm not a fan of white and my room is different shades of blue.
We needed to do that for PS4 as well but people didn't rage as much on the internet in those days. The only difference is that it was only for video on PS4 but for PS5 it's video and games. Haven't heard people screaming about the PS4 very much, and that console is 10 years old and subject to the alleged "dead activation servers" we keep hearing about when the PS5 is discussed.
The WD Black SSD is actually the recommended drive for the ps5 although it doesn’t have to be the ps branded. Than Seagate 5tb external is the recommend external.
well i had a qa....didnt sony claim that sn850 or sn850x were tested by them? so if its true why not by this ? most review says its a good option I looked for sam 990pro but there are some saying it has temp prob and more prob is firmware prob so to update you need pc. and my nvme slots are full. and an adapter to usb is extra $
Honestly if you don't have a PS5 by now just wait for the PS5 Pro. If you want to get the best performance possible for a slight premium bump up in price. It will be worth the extra investment from now until PS6 comes around. We should be seeing it at some point this year.
I will avoid the early model because it will be a competition. So I will buy this slim version and use it for at least 3 years before replacing it. After thinking about it a lot, I believe this is the best answer.
I wouldn't advise muting the on/off sound at all! That sound is useful! If there is something wrong with your console and you turn it off... HOW ARE YOU GOING TO KNOW ABOUT IT?!?! 🙄🤦🏿
You can transfer the PS5 Save Games with the Backup tool. Its a bit annying to use because it scans the whole drive, but that's something you can do too, but only all Savegames or none. You can't do it on a per game basis no more.
That's Sony's way of railroading people who don't know better into PS Plus, and not everyone needs it. Luckily M.2 SSDs aren't locked to a specific console so transferring games is easy.
Appreciate this. I bought another external drive to store my ps4 games, and I suspected that I could plug and play my existing external drive my ps4 with all the games. I asked the cashier and of course, they said it wouldn't. I'll be returning that 100 dollar drive tomorrow and getting another game with the money instead.
@@MajerHawk Fall is a long time from now, I just hope the upgrades will be worth the years long wait for a PS5 Pro, I bought the PS5 Slim a month ago and it feels far more powerful then the PS4 ever was at it's release, it's why I bought the PS5 Slim, I don't think the PS5 is in need of more power like the PS4 was.
Hey Mystic, had a question I haven’t seen covered yet. Can you take your m.2 ssd from the old ps5 with games in it, and plug and play with the new ps5. Basically I’m asking if it’s as simple as an external drive.
Im guessing you're talking bout the m.2 INTERNAL SSD that goes in the ps5 (I got confused cuz you said plug and play). To answer your question yes you can take the drive from an original ps5 to a ps5 slim and it will work.
If it's an M.2 drive that *_you_* installed into the expansion bay, it should work with zero issues. Best to make a backup of that save data to the cloud, though, just in case.
Okay firstly, internal storage is soldered to the motherboard, that's correct, but it's not "M.2 internal storage". M.2 describes the form factor, i.e. the fact it's a stick that goes into a slot with a small hole between the row of pins. PS5 internal storage they're all discreet components not socketed/removable, although since we're here the Series X uses a socketed tiny M.2 SSD. They both use PCI Express x4, look that up if you don't know what it is. The M.2 SSD that's user installable/removable is *not* locked to a specific console. I've moved mine between several PS5s and the games always work as long as I or someone else owns that version of the game - the PS5 doesn't care as long as it has a license key to play that game (either from the disc being inserted or downloaded digitally).
@@Link_1129 Or just back it up to a USB stick for free if you don't want/need/have PS Plus and make that step one of setting up your new console (since restoring a backup wipes the PS5).
Hi, how's your opinion about getting the PS 5 Slim vs. waiting for the PS 5 Pro? Any improvements with gameplay (graphics) on Slim? Should I wait for the Ps5 Pro or grab the Ps5 Slim now? 😅😊 Edited... So finally I bought a PS 5 Slim digital version, and guess what? I returned the first one because of an HDMI port issue. I reordered the same, and... The second one gives a green, grainy screen. (No TV problem or cable, but the console) Now, I watched so many teardown and repair videos and found out that the HDMI ports and the others are not the best in class. I can see the cable itself not fully inserting, which can lead to a loose connection if we accidentally slightly move the console or TV for any other reason. Anyway, there is no other option right now. And I hope there will be no changes in the HDMI port or the design with this upcoming PS5 Pro. So I am planning to stick with the PS5. slim.
I got slim disc version not too long ago. However no longer own any physical games and want to just detach drive, but can’t find OEM (preferably) digital cover plate anywhere in white. Wish Sony would make available standalone.
This might be a dumb question, but when you say connect the two consoles with Ethernet for data transfer, do you mean connect the two with a singular cable or connect the two to a router? Im actually confused lolz
i would not recommend placong the ps5 vertically as when the ps5 used for long hours for several days.tge cpu might melt dripping onto the mother board losing information and data hope this helps
Well i prefer the slim, much less smaller, and i have two dual sense controllers. And perfectly fitted on my tv rack. About how powerful it is, same as the original one. Since I've sell it, with many accessories on it and games already. I am starting from scratch again. Hopefully, i can keep my slim for a longer time.
Thank you for this. I’m getting my PS5 tomorrow and your video going to help me allot on know how to transfer my games, this might be a dumb question and you already addressed it, but I’m coming from my PlayStation 4. All of my games are bagged up on my external hard drive, which is a 2TB. So all I have to do is plug it into my PlayStation 5?
Always makes me chuckle when people make out the difference between 825GB and 1TB is a problem - every single PS5 has an M.2 SSD slot as standard which accepts an up to 8TB SSD. They're expensive, but 1TB M.2 SSDs are affordable, probably less than the price of adding a disc drive to a PS5 Digital, to be fair.

Do yours sound like a jet ?
@Pieface530 I don't find mine that loud, saying that it's not even a month old and I'm wearing a headset a lot of the time I play.
Well I paid £23 for the 3rd party from Amazon. It looks good and charges the joypad perfectly, and very stable
Started TLOU2 on a regular PS5 and completed it on a PS5 Slim😉😉😉
By the way great game. Don't let those who talk shit about the story decide whether or not you are gonna play it.
I listened to that narrative and skipped that game. Finally got it on deep sale and played it and absolutely loved it.
I listened and bought it too. I thought Joel's death was going to the only problem. What a waste of money.
Enjoy it more then the original
@@redkelly1188 bad take
Thorough video, thank you Ryan. I always find your videos reliable and trustworthy
I don't have a second PS5😢😅
In the "Back up your PS5" setting you can decide what you want safe, you have this 4 options.
Game and apps
Save data
screenshot and video clips
settings
On the option "game and apps" you can choose which game progress you want save, but Here Is as slightly problem, games like bf2042 or COD Warzone you need to save the full game, bf2042 80gb, and for COD warzone 190gb, this is only slightly problem because this game save the progress in the own server, and I think this cause the problem, I think games like anthem, bf1,bfV, Gran Turismo Sport, the finals end a plug tail requiem have the same problem but this game are not so big "only" 1gb, but supposed to be 50 mb, Cyberpunk, the entropy Center, the Riftbreaker end necromunda Hair Gun have the same problem like bf2042, you need to back up the full game, but this game don't have the saving on the own server, the other 100 game have normal size.
Who knows
It awesome that you uploaded this video today because I’m actually getting one today 😁

That footage trick is a lifesaver. Especially with SSDs who will slow down if you write too much data on them
Just got a PS5 slim a month ago. Thanks for this info. Very helpful.
I just got PS5 Slim, lol nice video much love bro :)
Just bought a digital slim today. Walmart is bringing it in the morning. Ive worked hard for this moment lol
I just found one ON THE SHELF! Picked it up...how do you like it?
@@silveredgrunion7196 love it. so fast and immersive.
That silver face plate reminds me of my ps2 slim.
I still play on my PS4 slim and don't want a PS5 unless GTA 6 is so absolutely extraordinary that it makes me want to buy it.
Same here. LOVE my 500 Million Edition PS4 Pro numbered 39500/50000
Saw your video while ago
But didn't click on until I bought ps5 I was lucky enough to get my hands on
spider man 2 limited edition
Still in the box
Now I'm enjoying this video
Also I know
Ps5 pro maybe coming soon
But it's ok because there will be

That’s good man hope you enjoy it
Well I wouldn't say its boring about Sony PlayStation 5 rundown,I have PS5 og was thinking returning it and get the PS5 Slim, just because it's slightly smaller easier to fit places and 1TB that's the only reason,I was told to keep the 'PS5 og' good video because gives indepth details of the PS5 console...👍
I'm switching from Xbox to PlayStation in June, and the game preset feature is actually really cool, something you wouldn't really see on xbox tbh🤷♂️
I’m still waiting for a reason to get a ps5. I see them stocked in every big box store now, but I just look at the games available and just shrug. Already have a PC, steamdeck and a wonderful ps4 collection. I love the effort you put into these types of videos though, and especially your ps4 content.
I had no idea you could do a network transfer between consoles! Informative and well-done episode! 👌🙂
It is indeed very useful. I used this method when I backed up my PS4 and my wife's PS4 to the PS5. (She'd already had one before I met her)
Amazing video, very usefull!!! thank you!!!!
I love the look of the slim; hence, I’m super hyped about the leaked Pro image and its similar form factor.

Im extra excited now to get a ps5!!!
the way it just goes straight into the video is awesome! Good work
*MUTE BEEP SOUND*
*I had no idea they created this option. Thank you.*
Thanks for the video. Some really good info here. Also, it still cracks me up that we have to register a disc drive.
Excellent information, thankyou
The PS5 does allow backup to USB. It's in system settings instead of where the game files are.
You mean game saves? That’s good to know because I won’t probably subscribe to PS Plus when I get my PS5 Slim today.
Mystic and Spawn point..... The best
Just got it today, pretty excited to game on🔥🔥😎
Oh. I did get the WD ssd stick... well at least it was during a sale haha
The WD Black SSD is actually the recommended drive for the ps5 although it doesn’t have to be the ps branded. Than Seagate 5tb external is the recommend external.
well i had a qa....didnt sony claim that sn850 or sn850x were tested by them?
so if its true why not by this ?
most review says its a good option
I looked for sam 990pro but there are some saying it has temp prob and more prob is firmware prob so to update you need pc.
and my nvme slots are full.
and an adapter to usb is extra $
Finally got one after years of waiting 🔥
Awesome in-depth vid dude!!! Thank you 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Honestly if you don't have a PS5 by now just wait for the PS5 Pro.
The design of the ps5 blows my mind , just make a box lol
was literally just at GameStop asking the questions this video offers :D thank you!
Great tips. I have the older design. Purchased May 2023. I might need to clean mine. It's not making any noise but just preventive maintenance.
Just got a ps5 slim digital edition. I am very excited about it
im about to buy the slim in 2 days and I'm so excited
The spoiler thing is actually so cool
Right to the point this deserves a subscribe 😄
Appreciate this. I bought another external drive to store my ps4 games, and I suspected that I could plug and play my existing external drive my ps4 with all the games. I asked the cashier and of course, they said it wouldn't. I'll be returning that 100 dollar drive tomorrow and getting another game with the money instead.
Good video on tips for PS5 people may not know about.

As tempting as this one is, I’m still waiting for the ps5 pro before I jump into the ps ecosystem
Any ideas when it might release?

Hey Mystic, had a question I haven’t seen covered yet. Can you take your m.2 ssd from the old ps5 with games in it, and plug and play with the new ps5. Basically I’m asking if it’s as simple as an external drive.
Im guessing you're talking bout the m.2 INTERNAL SSD that goes in the ps5 (I got confused cuz you said plug and play). To answer your question yes you can take the drive from an original ps5 to a ps5 slim and it will work.
@@TISUALno. The internal m.2ssd is soldered to the board. The nvme in the expansion slot though should be able to just be moved over no issues
11:32 Best tip ever thank you!
That loud sound from the disc spinning is even in my original ps5 disc version
Wow, great video. Thank you.
Great video as always Mystic...happy to know a ps4 external harddrive is plug and play!

Just Bought Mine Today, WE UP BIHHHH…!!!
Is it worth it am thinking of getting my first ps5 ever or should I get a Xbox series x.??
6:37 .. I just made a backup to an external drive from my old PS5 and restored it on the new one. Even without cloud saves, the savegames are there.
Hi, how's your opinion about getting the PS 5 Slim vs. waiting for the PS 5 Pro? Any improvements with gameplay (graphics) on Slim? Should I wait for the Ps5 Pro or grab the Ps5 Slim now? 😅😊
Edited...
So finally I bought a PS 5 Slim digital version, and guess what?
I returned the first one because of an HDMI port issue.
I reordered the same, and...
The second one gives a green, grainy screen.
(No TV problem or cable, but the console)
Now, I watched so many teardown and repair videos and found out that the HDMI ports and the others are not the best in class.
That has been proven false. The console can be horizontal or vertical. They make vertical stands for a reason
This is so funny, I literally bought PS5 slim yesterday!
I want one too
Well i prefer the slim, much less smaller, and i have two dual sense controllers.
Had my OG PlayStation 5 for 3 months wish I had waited for a slim my son has one and its smaller compact looks better with more storage.😊😊😊
Always makes me chuckle when people make out the difference between 825GB and 1TB is a problem - every single PS5 has an M.2 SSD slot as standard which accepts an up to 8TB SSD. They're expensive, but 1TB M.2 SSDs are affordable, probably less than the price of adding a disc drive to a PS5 Digital, to be fair.
i have a ps5 slim, trust me it's not that good. the fans are so much louder than the original ps5
I just use the GameStop charging station for my PS5 controller’s It’s pretty good almost like the original one.
Very helpful, thanks! Just got myself a PS5 for Stellar Blade! (Longtime PC gamer)
Please I do not have a console. Do you have a ps4 or PS 5 console you no longer make use of ?? I’ll appreciate if you can give it out. I can’t afford one and I’ll sincerely appreciate if you can give me any Ps console you’re not making use of. 🙏
Man, I am out of the loop. I had no clue this was even a thing.
Is it normal that the slim runs really hot? I never noticed it with the OG model but man the slim gets hot.
The PS5 went from being huge, to just very large. Nice.
Better than the original huge monstrosity. No way I'd have found a proper place for it next to my TV.
But its is very easy to upgrade the battery on the controller. RIG’s are a solid headsets. Be very carful removing the cable little plug. My 5 came out the whole thing but thankfully is came out in one piece no breaks so I could solder it back on
The pulse explores have several issues on connectivity. But does have some of the best sound I’ve had for gaming ear buds
The new disc drive actually idles quieter than the fat OG
Superb content 👊🏼
The Blu-Ray Drive from the PS3 SuperSlim was so much louder. 😮💨
