Time will tell, however I think Giddey has massive upside and could be a serious talent.
All these casual bulls fans hatin on this trade. Giddey is a 21 yr old triple dub machine. I love AC, hes a beast but hes also 30 & doesnt fit the trajectory. Bulls been missing an elite playmaker since zo been injured.
I think i 100% agree with everything you mentioned here. At the end of the day the people who are upset about this is either a) they expected draft capital along with a player for CAruso and b) because of Giddey's previous issues and allegations of the underage kind, these allegations have already been found to be inconclusive by Police and NBA investigative teams. Especially in this modern era, he is innocent till proven guilty and should not continue to be executed in the court of social media opinion. Lets see what he can do. That being said, AK and Eversley are on thin ice right now , Caruso was a crucial fabric piece to this team, so not getting draft capital in response is a huge and unpopular gamble on their part.
Giddey is 21 and Caruso is 30. This is a move in the right direction for the Bulls, getting a young player with upside
Giddy will want to be paid big time in a year, and he hasn’t done much of anything with his opportunities. Patrick Williams 2.0, we should have gotten atleast one first round pick back as well, bad trade.

Josh giddeys problem isnt shooting or defence. His only problem is confidence. He's 21 who went through some messed up allegations. He's got plenty of time to prove himself.
I give it a B+, but only because I think they could've gotten more if they made this move earlier. But Giddey could be a cornerstone for the next decade while Caruso deserves to play on a winner now. Glad AK finally made a move

Add a genius passer to any team and playoffs is always a good possibility.
Short term OKC wins the trade but long term Chicago could end up better. Caruso doesn't fit the Bulls timeline, Josh does.
As a Bulls fan, I loved when we got AC... However, in my opinion I think both teams benefit from this trade.... AC is due for a big contract... with Giddey he is young and has tons of talent and he's not even in his prime yet! Excited to see what he can bring to the table! GO BULLS!

He has had most of a rookie scale contract and a lot of minutes with mixed at best results. He is also a poor defender, and that is a bad indicator on a player in terms of drive and effort.

I'm feeling it, and ideally, he's as good or better than any drafy pick that they could've gotten for AC. He can help his own value tremendously simply by becoming a spot up jump shooter like Zo. I'd like to see Center, Nick Claxton added as a big via FA(cheaper than acquiring the Atlanta Center) as a new shot blocking and lob catcher from Giddy. They seriously needed to trade Vuc's contract and move another direction at Center(understand that his particular skill set still fits but he's a brick feet mover on defense and looses focus at times). Zo is put according to several reports as they are expected to either buy em out ot trade em. I'd still like to see Shannon, Jr added via the draft. Giddy is a FA next summer and if they move on, you'd already have TSJ ready to move into the starting rotation.
Zach Lavine and Demar are gone. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to get rid of Vooch too

Josh giddey needed a change of scenery obviously this gives him a new start he can put the past behind him hopefully. I love Caruso but this is his prime years he needs to contend. Bulls always had a plan and when lonzo got hurt they had to try something else that’s why they drafted dalen terry they love big wings and guards that are interchangeable I was not mad at all at this trade infact im excited. I love watching super smart high iq players like Kyle Anderson. Yes Josh Giddey was the “pick”

Look yo I know that this looks good and may seem like a good trade but it doesn't work I mean ok if we had a team with more than one lob threat or one to two for sure knock down shooters josh giddey is perfect. But the bulls don't have those type of player on the roster not to mention what type of defense do we have in the back court? Hell we barely trying to get it in the starting front court end of the day re sign derozan resign Drummond stop looking at the age range long term I get it but without decent veteran mentorship for the young core the bulls are going to be the same team in 5 yrs

Alex Caruso is a fantastic player but unless he takes a jump he’s just Gary Payton on steroids he’s a 4th player on a championship team the he literally cannot play more than 20-24 minutes because he always gets hurt. Because he lays it all out there on the court that’s fantastic if you’re competing the bulls are NOT competing rn.

Well done MattyD, you always non biased and always on point. This kid got skills which will bring Bulls far more than they expect. The kid had multiple ROTMs, multiple TDs and DDs and was going to keep soaring in rookie season until that shit foul by Joel Embiid that put the kid out of action. He was on par to take out ROTY. Then came the repositioning in 2nd season with Shai always going be the No1 playmaker, plus JDub coming to life, the inclusion of Chet, the growth of all players in OKC. Giddy couldn't get the ball as much when you filled with a young team of up and comers.
The off Court incident did not help his 2nd season but he still stuck it out UNTIL CLEARED OF WRONG DOING YOU FY#*ING HATERS. But when you look back to last season when Shai was out and Giddy filled the role. The kid when on a tear.. So bitching Chicago. This kid going to bring you some Magic.

Josh Giddey is crap. He can't shoot, he can't play defense, he doesn't have a real position, there's no way to play him and Coby together in the backcourt. He got benched in OKC because he was being targeted successfully on both ends of the court. Bulls' brass couldn't even get a draft pick in return for AC? This reinforces my decision to give up on the franchise. I haven't watched a game in over 10 years, and that was time well spent on other more productive endeavors. Just here to laugh at more self-destructive decisions. Has AK been fired yet? 🤣
