Part 2 is here. Not 100% thrilled with the result, it is functional but not the level of finish I like(and my standards are pretty low). There may have to be a Part 3 to this one at some point, but not today.

That's a win! If you decide to do some with a bend I think the mini bike crowd would go crazy over those. That's a great looking design. I don't know if you have a TSC store nearby (Tractor Supply Company) but if you do, check out their 1" washers in the bulk fasteners by the LB bins. The thick ones make a decent flange with a little work. I used to put some of the larger washers on the end of my headers too, great directional noise intimidation aimed at whoever was behind me. Yea those guys hated me. LOL!

Using a washer for a flange is a great idea, I never even considered them. 1" washers are huge, they would be a good "blank" to start with.

I brazed up a cracked block one time. I think it was a Detroit that had straight water in the jacket and had frozen.
