      I don't like plain white. It stresses me out. (Which is why I wonder why it's the prime choice to every hospital)

    I have an idea for you to try... What if you put the big heavy art piece on the fireplace mantel (centered) and put the rug and boomerangs with your collage wall behind the couch? That would bring some nice textures into the collage and give your grandparents art a focal point on the mantel, plus if it sits on the mantel you dont have to worry about its weight. :)

    you should do a video on how to naturally disinfect thrifted furniture!! I love how unique your apartment decor is and am also working on slowly acquiring thrifted items for my own apartment but struggle to know how to clean different & larger pieces such as couches, tables, etc.

    Scary spice is a kind of plant that might need obscene amounts of light - even super plant people say they can only keep them alive for a couple years unless they're towards the equator! Great job keeping her alive so long!

    I also hand wash my dishes instead of running my dishwasher! I use my dishwasher as a drying rack so I can keep my limited counter space freed up! I absolutely love your style and ALL of your precious plants!! :) thank you for being real about still making trash, etc.

    I honestly hope that you can keep doing this TH-cam thing you're doing for a really long time, because you inspire so, so many people to consider low waste and to live more sustainably, myself included.
    Back in school I never thought that living a low waste lifestyle would be so fun and freeing and inspiring, but in university I discovered your channel and my life and financial situation and happiness have improved so much since living more sustainable and minimal and I'll be forever thankful to your channel, Gittemarys channel and Shelby as well. 💗💗💗
    I wish you all the best on your journey and all the health and happiness in the world, beautiful apartment by the way. 💗

    If you are more into liquid soap you can always melt a bar down. ( we use a cleaned out Franks red hot bottle to hold ours) :
    How to make........
    Place a bar of Castile soap in a large mason jar and fill to the top with water.
    Put the whole jar in a pot on the stove with an inch or two of water and boil until all the soap is melted in.
    I add a tablespoon of vinegar for a disinfectant and 10-20 drops of your favorite essential oil. (Peppermint!!)
    This will fill my franks bottle 2x and lasts me 6-8 weeks for the cost of a bar of soap.

    • @SedonaChristina
      @SedonaChristina  5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I have heard that! The only thing is that we have a very minimal set of dishes and really don't use that many so it would take us days to fill our dishwasher if we used it and we'd run out of dishes hehe 🙈But using little dishes also saves us water! It all depends on what kind of things you tend to cook I think and if you let the water run/etc. Individual technique, if you will hahaha 💛But I definitely don't know the exact stats on how much we use in comparison so it's hard to say x

    • @ruthgoddard6539

      I have watched people use dishwashers. They rinse the dishes first so you could just go ahead and wash them and be dine by the time you liad the dushwasher.i believe handwashing is better

    • @skyexraine
      @skyexraine 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@The1cagirl When I do dishes, I spray any easy grime off and then turn the water off. I have a dual sink, so I put them all the right. Then I soap up dishes and put them in the left. That way my water is off 90% of the time. My dish washer uses so much water, and takes a long time to wash.

    can you mention in an upcoming video how you use your compost? I'm composting now..... and idk what to do with it? or if I'm even really doing it right? whenever I do some research, it's information from farmers or eXtReMe gardeners, and I'm just a gal living in an apartment trying to reduce her food waste. (been meaning to call my local garden center to see if they accept compost, but i saw an old google review stating that they don't.) help?

      Inger Muntjewerff It May depend on the type of dishwasher as well. I rent a house with a couple of people and a month of using the dishwasher vs a month without showed a huge different where the dishwasher used significantly more water than when we hand washed. Hopefully the newer dishwashers would be more efficient though ours is not very old
