We've killed Crota's children, Hasladun's children, Osiris straight up exterminated 90% of the remaining lineage right before he lost his light, and we've recently taken out most of the oldest living and highest ranking generals of each ascendant sibling. Xivu must be running out of high ranking, old and powerful hive by now.
I think sometime sthe german and the english versions deliver sime lines so differently that it could be interpreted different... In german Ikora ends the Holoprojector message with "We have to go out of her line of fire" (Aus ihrer Schusslinie gehen) which in my opinion shows more that she's still on our side than "get out of her way" which sounds a bit more darker in my opinion. @@brettadiah10 not the point, point is they decided it was a great idea to execute that through…a radio message. A hive god being resurrected and bargaining an escape deal, through a radio message.
I think heresy is going to set up the expansion into taking down xivu arath, it doesn't really seem like if after taking down oryx and savathun but she is by lore much, much stronger than both of them so it would make sense she would get her own expansion.
@@dand2242 Where exactly did you get this idea from? I mean it doesn't really matter since its wrong anyways lmao, they have said there will be more DLCs after The Final Shape to continue the story, they just haven't announced them yet, they specifically mentioned more episodes to come after the ones announced already.
I will say this, the next season better have a lot of the Witness in it, talking to us. Interacting with them directly only in the Final Shape would be awful. Sure we've known about them since Witch Queen, but we still know next to nothing about them. It would be a rich man's Rohan death.
I don't think Bungie will do that. The Witness is a godlike being. Older than the Hive. Perhaps as old as the Traveler. We are small and weak in comparison to what they have done and what they plan to do. We are inconsequential, especially since they're inside the Traveler, tearing out the pipes and redoing all the wiring in preparation for realizing the Final Shape. It would be like a human having a conversation with a solitary ant.
I think Osiris should have something to do with Xivus death for what she did to Sagria. Like Saint giving him a sword to thrust into her head as she lays on the floor from us basically taking her on.
Okay all of you are hilarious. After playing the mission, I just knew I would be entertained by Cross and the comments and neither of you disappointed. I love the Destiny Community.
I want a dialogue between xivu and eris where eris asks xivu "How does it feel to have been banished from your own throne world by a guardian?" (ex guardian technically but still would be super cool)
Since xivu wrath is mortal now then will the next big raid after final shape be going to kill her. Hope so that'd be cool to find her on the hive home world
18:30 While I do think all three hive sisters should've gotten an expansion, Xivu hasn't been that much of a threat compared to the others. Do I think Heresy should be her conclusion, no. But unless they can really pump out some hype and power ups her way now that she's mortal, she's not enough of a threat for even a filler expansion. An idea: Heresy is an introduction to a new Hive Law, a change to the species/race/force as a whole. In it we get a new original third party (new type of enemy race; in story not gameplay) trying to re-invent the Hive's power from the ground up; hence the name "Heresy". Heresy ends with a new reinvented Hive Power, hinting at Xivu gaining godly strength from this. The expansion following, being Xivu's, involves her thriving in this new Hive power, giving her a powerup that's scale is bigger than Oryx and Savathun. Then we must stop her before she reaches a point of catastrophe for humanity as per Heresy's predictions/implications. The end credit scene of said expansion builds up this new race or council of races similar to that of D2's building up the Darkness Fleet. Maybe in the future we face warriors of said races instead of getting a whole new race (Bungie has made it clear that they'd rather add new unique units with difficult playstyles rather than add a whole new race with one tapped red bars).
I agree with you cross. I think Xivu will be a dungeon boss and I also kind of feel that the Leviathan Eater will be a lesser boss to the same dungeon. I feel like he had enough power lore wise to have his own throne world or get resurrected in Xivu's throne world before Eris severed her connection. I know he barely put up a fight but they clearly made it an easy story mission and not a boss encounter it could be.
Cross doesn't do the Leviathan Eater justice on this video. I found it to be pretty fun when doing the mission solo, as you don't insta-melt him like with a fireteam, and the battlefield is a lot more oppresive with lots of ever respawning boomer knights and acolytes, and the boss is a lot more aggressive when it only has 1 target to aggro into instead of 3. I feel like bungie should have had their dificulty scaling for fireteam numbers, like they have for campaign missions.
@@voltus20 I thought it was a cool fight, at first, but then I saw how little damage I was taking and how much damage I was dealing. Then I couldn't wait for it to be over as I spawn killed knights and thralls for what seemed like forever. I was solo. I really hope we get a real fight against the Leviathan Eater because the "mechanics" they teased at us seemed cool.
Give Xivu a year of development and I think she will be worthy of her own DLC. I had more interest in her with the GoTD dungeon with her emotional messages. I think she can definitely be interesting.
“I don’t feel Xivu represent the same level of threat” My brother in Light, she is the GOD OF WAR that once blew up an entire moon to try to kill Oryx as a joke
I think the issue is that we’re always told what Xivu can do or has done, but it all feels empty when we’ve seen nothing. We saw oryx wipe out the awoken fleet, we saw him take troops, we saw his entrance when we killed him the first time. Xivu just maxes out the gain on her mic like an angry squeaker on CoD.
@@Cobalt20We know firsthand on how she decimated Torobatl, thats the reason why Caitl fled to our solar system in the first place, and she literally put us on a catch 22 situation so bad that we had to sacrifice humanity's greatest weapon, Rasputin, to get out of it, not even winning.
This is the first time we have ever won a fight with her, every other instance has been a stalemate or we straight up had to made a sacrifice to reach said stalemate, and to even get this win we had to power up Eris into becoming the greatest Hive God ever and use all of that to cut her off her Throne World, so we still have to fight her head on and she is probably still as powerful as she ever was, its just that she is mortal now and we only need to kill her once.
@@thegrandsc4968 My whole point is that we literally haven’t seen Xivu Arath do anything firsthand. We’ve seen aftermath, Cabal fleeing the system, but we didn’t see it happen. 18:23 exactly she is mortal now, has no throne, she is literally not much of a threat without the ability to constantly gain power just from engaging in a war with/out her. Shes just a knight at this point.

It is so strong I honestly think just because of that its the best primary in the game rn. Also helps that 5 of 6 gms have unstop champs (ik lightblade has 3 total). I honestly think u would enjoy it a lot with never having to reload and constant ignitions explosions. if u wanna hav a little extra fun then use the fragments that makes kills with super make targets ignite and make those ignitions larger pop ur well then watch as every enemy goes up in flames
My question is now that we are no longer tithing to Eris why are we still able to do the tithing activity also since Imaru is under custody and sathathun has fled who is gonna lead the lucent brood, man I really liked this season but let's face it the final boss fight with the "leviathan Eater" champion of the Hive god of war was a joke. I know that this season activity so it needs to be easy but come on I feel like the guy deserved a dungeon or heck even a new strike with him would have been cool
I strongly disagree he was hyped up for 3 weeks now and he was so boring all he did was throw fire balls at you, look at the Light blade that dude can actually be pretty scary and he would rush you. But the leviathan eater was supposed to be even better than that. All I'm saying it would have been nice to get something more and no more health or more minions wouldn't have made him the bane of the Sky as I was told
Xivu expansion on hellscape Torobatl with some metalcore guitar riffs and a proper double barrel shotgun thats just kinetic damage. Rip and tear guardian, until it is done.
Nah I agree with you about Xivu. I think people are forgetting that severing her connection to her Throne World literally means if she dies, it's permanent. She's still a threat, but nowhere close to the threat that Oryx or Savathun were. Giving her an entire expansion now wouldn't make sense because she's just not nearly as much of a threat as she once was. Heresy seems to be built for our confrontation with Xivu, after all they did explain that the episodes would be dealing with the aftermath of what happens in The Final Shape and Ikora specifies we'll deal with her after we defeat the Witness.
The episode could also be a set-up for an expansion for her. The name could even imply it. Imagine Xivu, after seeing herself mortal, less powerful, and seeing the fall of the Witness, resorts to what she once considered heresy to regain power and become an Oryx/Savathun tier level threat again, which leads to her expansion.
Did no one pay attention to the Final Shape vidoc thing right before this season started? They said that while inside the traveler we still have to deal with Xivu Arath, that she’s still a threat.
The whole stream after the cutscene i spammed read the lore book because i had a feeling....alas my messages were unread. Seasonal story was great just felt the ending was produced in a rushed way. The boss was easy, the cutscene cut short and the lore book provided almost like a script meant for the cutscene. Still liked it tho!
Does anyone else have a card at the lecturn that can’t be unlocked? The one in the bottom right corner? I don’t know if I’m missing an opaque card or what.
@hawk9mm yeah and thats not cool..I don't want to read some lore cards about something that should have happened..hopefully Bungie will have an end of season event
Well that was....sth i guess. But lets see what all of that could mean for the future. First where is Savathun? In her own thrown world or did she go to the traveler. Does she still looks she did as the witch queen? Or can she now accept the power of the witness or is Savathun trying to learn how to use stasis and strand? Ooor is she trying to contact someone else. 🐎 Xivu is still dangerous but what if the witness will give her the calus treatment? Or what if she gets also a ghost? Maybe she might be the boss of heresy, you know Xivu is now looking even more after Savathun after her betrayal. Because lets not forget that we have to look at the story not only from the light & dark saga pov but also from the after light & darkness saga. Btw i was thinking about sth. Do you remember the human face split in many pieces in the last "leaked" final shape video. That face had the same red light or ball like echoes. Maybe echoes has sth to do with the echoes of the traveler and what it left behind like the vex. I think you just imagine how you would write story of Destiny in the future to maybe find out whats coming next.
To the community she is considered a MASSIVE threat. She literally gets stronger through war, in most cases a lot of people would consider her the strongest of the 3. At least in pure power alone. Oryx had the ability to take and the only reason we fought him in the raid was because his last ditch effort of taking himself to survive. Savathun is the smartest being that she fkd over Rhulk and The Witness. But imo Xivu would be the hardest to overcome. Unfortunately Bungie doesn’t take her as seriously I guess. Hopefully we get an expansion, she deserves it. But with what just happened I assume they’re not gonna bother going all out for her. I had the same reaction, “ain’t no fkn way this is how they end Xivu’s story”
Xiva tiths are still tethered to her, so kills will continue to make her a God. She might be banned from her throne world when she dies she's dead but her power will still continue to get stronger and stronger the longer we wait to kill her. She is also the strongest hive god that exists so idk how this is going to play out but when we do have to fight her they need to make it one of the hardest hive fights we have ever seen. Like on par with the witness kind of raid because there's only one way to show off a God of war
Also, didn't we ever see a picture of Xivu back in Taken King cutscenes or who was that in alot of them with Oryx? I picture her as a style of Hive Knight God.
Remember back in the day when the Guardians just went to the hive god and aced them and took theirs spiky bits then had Banshee craft us a weapon from it?>>
Disappointing tbh, this whole season and all this was to find out how to get through the portal, fine. But what did ikora say? "Savathun says she had already given us the key to breaching the portal, we just have to find what form that took?" And she's OK with that? After nearly losing her friend? And savathun on the loose again? Yeah I know xivu is now mortal, but could I give a crap about her? Not really, I've killed enough hive since d1 that xivu doesn't scare me anyways, just another ŕoach to squash. Just feels like we did all this for some information and didn't get that info. Bungies story telling is slipping hard. They could have gone so many ways with this and dropped the ball right at the end. Why not make eris "the most powerful hive to exist" give us the answer but unable to give up her new power and make her the new big bad for after the final shape? That way there's an emotional tie for us to come back after the light dark saga. Don't tell me they moved the decent writers over to marathon along with the pvp team and this is what we're left with
Just imagine where ever you go for dying in this universe she just chatting after being dead for long time and out no where mid conversation immure bring back to life and then die two seconds later they be like damn back already
WHen we first met in Destiny 1, and we first got the 3rd eye for her i said she would be a hive god. I called it. I mean it was obvious, but i still called this 10 years ago.
Imagine if only we are able to access Xivu Arath’s throne world and we use it as an area to test our weaponry like the menagerie. It would make sense since she could probably call upon enemies/allies for battle to hone her blade.
I feel like this is an opportunity too good to pass up. We’ve been in need of an area to test the sandbox in both PvE and PvP. Being able to activate PvP would be crazy. We would be able to hop between the two sandboxes to test sandbox changes and load-outs. Since they have more time in development for ‘episodes’ I think it would make plenty of sense to make it a destination.
Wouldn't killing the witness render the hive useless? Let's say you're working for one of two dealers in your town but the product gave you tons of extra stat points and now you can't function without it. Then one day the other dealer in town sends his boys to Dumpster your crew...You survive and take over operations. Eventually other dealer sent his boys to blow up the production plant making your product...now you're incapacitated for at least a week going through withdrawals and even when you recover you'll never be as effective without out the juice. So why is Xivu still a threat after the witness dies?

Aztecross: .....
Also I loved Eris laughter while meeting her in the first part xD
I did "The Sunder" solo. That shit was ridiculous. Thank God for arc soul.
So…Savathûn is revived a second time and escapes…*off camera?*

Lol right. Bungie cutting corners per usual
They let her go. Didn’t escape.

absolute amazing season, definitely in my top 3
I get the feeling we'll be dealing with the Xivu fallout in that Hive related Act next expansion when those come around. It makes a little sense.
Couldn’t she be the final boss like calus in light fall since the witness was confirmed to be the raid boss
i highly doubt it as she passed out because she denied the power
There is zero chance the last campaign of the saga is spent fighting Xivu.
I think heresy is going to set up the expansion into taking down xivu arath, it doesn't really seem like if after taking down oryx and savathun but she is by lore much, much stronger than both of them so it would make sense she would get her own expansion.
There's nothing after Heresy
@@dand2242 Where exactly did you get this idea from? I mean it doesn't really matter since its wrong anyways lmao, they have said there will be more DLCs after The Final Shape to continue the story, they just haven't announced them yet, they specifically mentioned more episodes to come after the ones announced already.
Why wasn't there a huge badass fight between Eris and literally anyone?!
Aztecross: Will Eris Die? Probably not.
Eris Morn: Lies built on lies...
Perfect timing...well edited 😁😁😁
Hearing Savathun say "honey" is something I never knew I needed in my life.
We've known the witnesses since shadow keep we just didn't know it. The whole we are your salvation in the black garden foreshadowed final shape
We know him better than I do Cayde, I don't think we'll even interact with them, the Witness being in the Traveller and all.
Maybe only you next to nothing but they’ve been explaining story with the witness for a while now
Technically the witness has been in the story for like so long, we’ve known there was some voice in the darkness since vanilla Destiny
Love the fact Eris just wants to have a cuppa and chill.
I think going after Xivu is going to be the hive themed episode after the Final Shape.
Yes I see it too.
To be fair, every alien started it with us.
I want a dialogue between xivu and eris where eris asks xivu "How does it feel to have been banished from your own throne world by a guardian?" (ex guardian technically but still would be super cool)
Since xivu wrath is mortal now then will the next big raid after final shape be going to kill her. Hope so that'd be cool to find her on the hive home world
The hive home world is gone bro lol
@@Yumais o yea though what ever planet shes own with how many the hove have conquered or destroyed shes gotta be on one
Three worm gods are still alive, I'm sure the Heresy episode will involve them and Xivu Arath, along with the Cabal reclaiming their homeworld.
18:30
While I do think all three hive sisters should've gotten an expansion, Xivu hasn't been that much of a threat compared to the others.
2:48 damn Immaru, Eris was about to click the R3 on her controller to get you.
Or is it L3?
The music while fighting the amonite bane was bangin!
The last episode next year is hive themed and is called heresy. DEFINITELY where we’ll be finishing her off
Cross doesn't do the Leviathan Eater justice on this video.
@@equinoxruinouseffigy7856 Oh that's right! That's much later than I would've thought but I guess that makes sense, with the Witness taking priority
I really feel that if Heresy is Xivu focused, it will lead into an expansion where it's the final fight against Xivu.
It’s all tell, no show. It’s not like Xivu Arath even showed up for the Rasputin ordeal, it was just Eramis punching buttons at a display. I loved that season, but the point stands that…she just doesn’t feel as intimidating as Oryx cause she’s not right in front of us. It doesn’t feel all that imminent.
From a lore perspective I’m aware how crazy powerful Xivu is, but from a story perspective, from a gamer, who likes seeing stories in game, we’ve seen little to nothing, and it’s kind of a bummer.
@@Cobalt20The reason the ending of Season of the Seraph happened at all was, for the most part, because of Xivu, i dont know what else to tell you. The reason Osiris, the most powerful guardian that has ever existed, lost his light and ghost, is because of her. She has been taking our greatest assets like candy and crushed them for the better part of 2 years now
I’d be willing to bet Heresy when we deal with Xivu will take place in Torobatl
I speculate Savathun will hide in the Dreaming City or "Fix" an error and thats Riven maybe Riven is another key to getting into the portal with maybe help from Mara too with the power of both Queens could cure Riven of her Taken and bring the Dreaming City out of it's curse and to have what we need to run through the portal. I was wrong about this season so I could be wrong about next season too but I love talking and seeing ideas to me it brings the hype
Need to read the lore tab for this week. It adds more context to the cutscene. Wish they would have just included it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought I was doing something wrong because that encounter was taking so long.
I could listen to hive god eris monologue for hours
If Xivu is mortal she will 100% not be a Raid Boss. She's strong but she's also weak af compared to Oryx and Savathun with the power of the taken and throne worlds. She would need serious help from the Witness.
So glad we got the old Eris Mouth back
I have a feeling after this season immaru is gunna respect eris and they’re gunna be best friends

It seems like act 3 of next year (heresy) could be a buildup to a xivu-themed annual expansion, if that’s the case it’d make xivu’s expansion the 5th hive themed annual content drop
If xivu isn’t the main focus of heresy then I don’t know who will be. It’s literally all she talks about, how she takes pride in sticking to the sword logic and calls her sister a heretic
I thought Eris would go ape shit crazy with that power and do something more then just using a spell on the spot to sever Xivu from her Throneworld and thenn revert back to normal felt underwehlming specially after that Levaiathan eater which was also underwehlming. i didnt needed it to be more difficult, just more epic.
Still best season >_
18:23 exactly she is mortal now, has no throne, she is literally not much of a threat without the ability to constantly gain power just from engaging in a war with/out her. Shes just a knight at this point.
cross have u used polaris lance with phoenix procol or battle harmony with the artifact mods that give weaken and armor charges to scouts? It is so strong I honestly think just because of that its the best primary in the game rn. Also helps that 5 of 6 gms have unstop champs (ik lightblade has 3 total). I honestly think u would enjoy it a lot with never having to reload and constant ignitions explosions. if u wanna hav a little extra fun then use the fragments that makes kills with super make targets ignite and make those ignitions larger pop ur well then watch as every enemy goes up in flames

Lol Eris hit Xivu Arath with a Beaver error code/ disconnected her from throne world servers 😂😂😂😂
Did no one pay attention to the Final Shape vidoc thing right before this season started? They said that while inside the traveler we still have to deal with Xivu Arath, that she’s still a threat.
They should remake that first mission as a strike for new players to experience for years to come, damn
Amazing how the guardians ever worry about anything with the thickest plot armor ever
Does anyone else have a card at the lecturn that can’t be unlocked? The one in the bottom right corner? I don’t know if I’m missing an opaque card or what.
she spawn killed Savathun and nerfed/almost one shot Xivu. wtf IS this lore's powerscaling anymore?!

From the tower to the throne ✨️
Oh Shit! the devs did say Savathun would have a small part this season... didnt expect a spwan kill.
Honestly I was expecting so much more..she cut her like it was a suckered punch..she banishes Xivu..but I was at the very least hoping to see Xivu
Yup everything this year has happened of screen. The seasons, the Lightfall campaign...
Can you please explain the thought process of abbreviating something to sth
XIVU ARATH definitely deserves her own expansion. Think of the badass title it would have, Destiny 2: The God of War
Empress Caiatle needs her hat in this ring too. Im sure she has a lot to say to Xivu Arath
The final shape needs some avengers shit where everyone works together to kill the witness
Don't tell me they moved the decent writers over to marathon along with the pvp team and this is what we're left with
If we get a xivu dungeon for the next season we’re probably also get a 3rd hive themed season in a row
Last season wasn’t hive themed it was only the dungeon. Next seasons gonna be fallen themed
I think it’s setting up a cabal story/season hunting xivu with our help
Just imagine where ever you go for dying in this universe she just chatting after being dead for long time and out no where mid conversation immure bring back to life and then die two seconds later they be like damn back already
WHen we first met in Destiny 1, and we first got the 3rd eye for her i said she would be a hive god. I called it. I mean it was obvious, but i still called this 10 years ago.
Such a difficult fight against such a highly experienced light killer hive thing.
Eris literally said fuck you to millenia of sword logic and destroyed the Hive God pantheon. Also Savathun calling Eris "honey" dayuumm.
18:30. ….. ya, when cfo says milk it milk it….
Tbh eris morn had a cocaine bear moment, being the most dangerous being in existence for 5 minutes
Eris morn has the sword logic now
Wouldn't killing the witness render the hive useless? Let's say you're working for one of two dealers in your town but the product gave you tons of extra stat points and now you can't function without it. Then one day the other dealer in town sends his boys to Dumpster your crew...You survive and take over operations. Eventually other dealer sent his boys to blow up the production plant making your product...now you're incapacitated for at least a week going through withdrawals and even when you recover you'll never be as effective without out the juice.
So why is Xivu still a threat after the witness dies?
Xivu, oryx, and savathun have been around since practically before time began. Not sure where I'm at on this one....
Imaru will be Eris’s Ghost
Imagine that haha
Did Eris just do “hippity hop pity your throne world is now my property?” To Xivu?
