Exploring Cwm Prysor Station and Viaduct - abandoned disused closed - Bala and Ffestiniog Railway

  • A look around what remains of Cwm Prysor station in Snowdonia, which was open from 1902 to 1960.
    The station was on the former Bala to Ffestiniog line and served a sparsely populated rural area. Just west of the station is the largest relic of the line, the Cwm Prysor Viaduct which was opened in 1882. The line closed in 1961, and now there is a permissive right of way along the old trackbed and the viaduct.

    I think this is the most magical part of this beautiful line and great that the station and viaduct still remain. I try to imagine what it must have been like traveling across that viaduct and the wonderful views that could be seen from high upon the mountain ledge that followed. Many thanks for sharing.

    NO-No Bridge but there was a small Gold Mine.If You walk the Viaduct today from West to East there is a large dip before the viaduct.Thanks for posting-brings back wonderful memories.
