Not to mention the fact that most were legendary or pseudo-legendary with incredibly high stats and the *ridiculous* number of resistances they have and being resisted by only one type. Steel-types at least have several weaknesses that balance their resistances out. Plus, Steel- and Poison-types were underutilized (especially Poison) and needed a new type to balance it out. Garchomp's 4x weakness to Ice-type moves is not effective when it can destroy the Ice-type before it can attack. Concerning the slime controller's stickyness, I've had that happen a few times with some of the madcats and other not-first-party controllers in the past as well as with other plastic shelled tools and items. You can fix it and it's actually fairly easy. 9:30 so I have a hilarious story for this one. I adore this story. So when Tony Hawk Ride was coming out before release I went to the Xgames with my father. And they had a station set up showing it off and letting people get a test and give some feedback. I had a bad feeling about it the second I saw the skateboard. And the second I started using it I knew this thing was crap. When it was my turn to give feedback. I remember exactly what I said “this games gonna bomb. The controls are incredibly unresponsive and the sensors barely work because of how small they are. You better add an option to use a normal controller or you’re just gonna throw money out the window.” My dad tried to say that it wasn’t my place. And the person who was taking feedback said the equivalent of, what do you know you’re just a kid we’re a company we know better. It felt so good to have my dad come by my room after a week of having the game out looking at reviews and saying. “Damn. You may be a smart ass but you were right”
I can't believe I missed this video until I saw the shortened list on FB. This was a hilarious deep dive of a video. Whether it's calling the Power Glove a sad hug, or seeing the Ride skateboard continue to fail to work on Xbox SPECIFICALLY, loved this list!

Great video, Jirard. I'm honestly both surprised and not surprised you didn't mention the Wiimote that looks like the 11th Doctor's sonic screwdriver that is meant to be used for a "Doctor Who" game that only came out for the Wii in Europe. Granted, I don't even know if the thing would even work with American Wiis or Wii Us, but I'm tempted to get one to find out... Anyway, keep up the brilliant work! :D
I remember the Bongo controller. Still have a functioning one today. I remember using them to get all of the emblems (Platinum emblems) on EVERY COURSE using the Bongos in Jungle Beat. One of my personal best moments in gaming as a kid. The sad story is that the memory card it was on and my entire childhood full of other games got wiped........but I will do it again!
The fact you used the real life cordyceps that actually exists in real life as an example and then use Last of Us footage a little bit after was just....the most perfect but unexpected example for something like this.
I'm glad you didn't list the controller at 0:51 in your TOP TEN and I know you also mentioned accessibility with one of the other controllers. I justed wanted to shine a little bit of light on the controller shown at 0:51 as it is one of the better attempts at accessibility for people with all kinds of disabilities. You can configure this controller to a large degree and it helped many people to enjoy games that the otherwise couldn't.
The chainsaw controller is really silly but well designed, and the Slime controller I've always wanted the first time I've seen it available for the Switch but its always out of stock or too expensive. I know its not the best, but its still so cute. Its also nice to be reminded about the Resident Evil chainsaw and Tony Hawk skate board controllers, as I buried those memories a long time ago until you dug it up instantly with just a single clip of it. Such a trip!
The completionist! I challenge you to complete a game... Miitopia!! This game is so freaking expansive it’s ridiculous. I’ve put at least two hundred hours into the game and I’ve only gotten like a quarter of the way through. There is so much content.
*1:* Oooh, I like the production values on this one. *2:* NGL, I don't know whether the plastic on that Slime Controller just went funny after so long, or if it was legit intended to be sticky for brownie points. And that uncertainty is terrifying. *3:* Thing is, I feel like lowering and redistributing the weight on Yuna's Tiny Bee guns would help out a bunch, as would properly labelling the buttons. Hell, you could probably have well-made gun controllers for a VR set-up, if you did them just right. Though admittedly, they'd work better for a light gun game than an RPG. Unless of course you're playing a gunslinger-style spinoff as that sweet boy Prompto. "Oh hi there... OPENING!"
I honestly expected the N64 controller to make an appearance here but after seeing the video I understand all of your decisions. I am also extremely jealous that you now have the Resident Evil 4 chainsaw controller.
This video was absolutely hilarious and I loved it. You need to be on-camera for your humor spots more often, man, you're a phenomenal visual comedian between your expressions and your body language.
I remember getting that skateboard for Christmas. Exchanged it the next day for another bc it didn’t work, second one didn’t work either. Worst childhood memory ever xD
The Tony Hawk Ride board literally inspired me to start skating, I loved the tony hawk games and naturally was super hyped seeing that. When I got it, I played it for 20 minutes, realized it was actual ewaste and ended up just getting a real skateboard and having way more fun lol
The DQ Slime controller being the stickiest you've ever held is at once very appropriate for a slime and also impressive, because we all knew that one guy who had really sticky controllers...usually after playing certain games... Those FF X-2 guns look awesome. I believe that they are ass to use but the fact that they look awesome means that they should only be used as an awesome looking prop. The fact that they are "unnecessarily high quality" is funny too, because if only we could have more things that are high quality.
Ngl, I unironically want those guns. Not to use as controllers, but omg those are official decent-quality-replicas and thus the cosplayer’s dream! If they just made a tiny bang-sound when you pressed the triggers, they’d be perfect. Most replica weapons are really light and cheap quality, but as the guns are meant to be actual controllers, I’d believe they’re much more durable. I waaaaaaant them!
As a fellow owner of the PS2 slime controller, can confirm any amount of moisture causes the surface to get weirdly sticky. There's a more recent one for PS4 (and maybe a switch one I'm not sure) that I haven't had any issues with yet
I thought you were gonna say the slime controller was broken or something; I was so caught off guard when you said it was sticky I lost it. Idk why but it made me laugh harder than I have in a while

There is a joke about feminists complaining that women can't use the controller because the buttons are on the inside. (the buttons are actually on the inside btw)
WHY
...for what platform?
XD
Great video, Jirard. I'm honestly both surprised and not surprised you didn't mention the Wiimote that looks like the 11th Doctor's sonic screwdriver that is meant to be used for a "Doctor Who" game that only came out for the Wii in Europe. Granted, I don't even know if the thing would even work with American Wiis or Wii Us, but I'm tempted to get one to find out... Anyway, keep up the brilliant work! :D
I saw the chainsaw at my uncle's house and I thought it was like a collection item not a gosh dang control
Congratulations: It's both! :D
This was really entertaining. Very nostalgic. I worked at a Gamestop for several years and saw many of these get hyped...and fail.
Looks at Ring Fit Adventure, still not as cool as the bongos.
I remember the Bongo controller. Still have a functioning one today. I remember using them to get all of the emblems (Platinum emblems) on EVERY COURSE using the Bongos in Jungle Beat. One of my personal best moments in gaming as a kid.
The sad story is that the memory card it was on and my entire childhood full of other games got wiped........but I will do it again!
woah! How did I not notice your shirt until you said the quote "and now I have it" at 13:25
EPIC
The fact you used the real life cordyceps that actually exists in real life as an example and then use Last of Us footage a little bit after was just....the most perfect but unexpected example for something like this.
"you're just giving yourself a sad hug" made me chuckle
I'm glad you didn't list the controller at 0:51 in your TOP TEN and I know you also mentioned accessibility with one of the other controllers. I justed wanted to shine a little bit of light on the controller shown at 0:51 as it is one of the better attempts at accessibility for people with all kinds of disabilities. You can configure this controller to a large degree and it helped many people to enjoy games that the otherwise couldn't.
The power glove grabbing cash in an ad was your warning right there!
This has been the funniest top 10 in years. Loved it.
That slime control looks awsome!
Very awesome intro
It's hilarious, clever and genius
This is the perfect amount of dark humor
Loved the intro!!
Dang it Jirard, now I need to get me some Tiny Bee controllers
Jirard, that was quite the sassy flourish when you held up the Tiny Bees
There was a top 10 Gaming video in 2020 where I learnt a bunch, bless The Completionist
Somehow, i was wondering if he was gonna show the slime controller, you did not disappoint
This video was absolutely hilarious and I loved it. You need to be on-camera for your humor spots more often, man, you're a phenomenal visual comedian between your expressions and your body language.
The most WTF controller doesn't make sense but looks dope as hell.
Gotta love that Sonic R soundtrack track for the last controller!
I remember getting that skateboard for Christmas. Exchanged it the next day for another bc it didn’t work, second one didn’t work either. Worst childhood memory ever xD
I love the attention to detail on the slime controller, it's actually slimy.
Hell yes for the Kirby music at the end!
This is literally the first time I knew that the gamecube could be played online...
The Tony Hawk Ride board literally inspired me to start skating, I loved the tony hawk games and naturally was super hyped seeing that. When I got it, I played it for 20 minutes, realized it was actual ewaste and ended up just getting a real skateboard and having way more fun lol
Slamming buttons on those sick awesome guns rapid fire mode. “I did 1 damage.” Started laughing hard there
The DQ Slime controller being the stickiest you've ever held is at once very appropriate for a slime and also impressive, because we all knew that one guy who had really sticky controllers...usually after playing certain games...
I waaaaaaant them!
never knew about the controlls on first place! GJ Jirard!
As a fellow owner of the PS2 slime controller, can confirm any amount of moisture causes the surface to get weirdly sticky. There's a more recent one for PS4 (and maybe a switch one I'm not sure) that I haven't had any issues with yet
The slime controller being slimey is very fitting.
I thought you were gonna say the slime controller was broken or something; I was so caught off guard when you said it was sticky I lost it. Idk why but it made me laugh harder than I have in a while
It's a great sign that I haven't heard of the majority of these controllers. I am so hopeful that when the day comes and Jirard wants to complete Final Fantasy X-2, those gun controllers are brought up again if not used to actually complete the game.
