From classic arcade beat 'em ups to the city-spanning super hero games, these games add to the joy a fan has of those properties. This is my personal Top 10 Licensed Games list! Great game man yeah
Absolute gem of a game. Played through it with my cousin so many times. Stealth elements, a really fun gang brawl combat system, starting the game before the events of the movie to expand the universe.
The only gripe I have is that one rage inducing chase sequence with the skinheads in the truck. Making you run straight at the camera and die over and over till you memorize the obstacles. It was like a horrible send up to the battle toads sewer level.
Other than that, the game was such a blast.
Spongebob battle for bikini bottom is definitely a rad remake.
But not as good as Cal Ripken Jr baseball

I'm surprised that Alien: Isolation or The Witcher 3 didn't make the list.
For me, it's easy to forget that the Witcher games are licensed games.

the batman arkham series was such a huge game changer, not just for licence games but for games in general

@@domx7zero157 if you look at the way video game franchise like assassins creed, The Spiderman games, other such open world games have a evolved a lot of them have adopted similar combat styles and exploration elements that the Arkham series perfected. While a lot of these elements were borrowed from games before none had combine them the way the arkham games do, and if you look at open world games, in particular assassins creed, you see that it evolved to utilize many of the things that made arkham so special.

um we got Ghostbusters 2 and that gender bender licenced one that should of just been it's own ip, not to mention they are filing another Ghostbusters movie right now as far as i know

Omg, the song in the beginning is the first stage theme of The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse, from Capcom on the SNES. This game definitely deserves more love.

I got to meet one of Anamanaguchi's members after one of their shows, I just had to tell him how wicked their work on Scott Pilgrim was. Seeing his face light up to that was so cool
Saw them in Montreal some years ago and these guys are great ! Made Peter laughed when I talked about the CTRL+P Macros in Nerdtracker 2 and Knife CIty (Luke) gave me a hug because I was wearing a 10k Freemen and their Families T-Shirt !

They also had Scrooge's Pogo attack show up in one episode (during the attack against the Moon People heading to the mansion). The new Ducktales animated show is very well made show.

I always loved the King Kong licensed game for Xbox... It’s such a simple, clunky game that I feel like it adds to the atmosphere and all really well. Plus the Kong sections were so gratifying - fighting 3 t-rexes that are invincible when you’re playing as a human.

This game was actually my favorite PS2 for the longest time up until I revisited MGS3 a while back.
The atmosphere was great, the music was phenomenal, the gameplay was exhilarating (seriously, the levels where I had to run from the V-Rex still put fear in me) albeit standard.
Such a breath of fresh air, even now.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron was a DAMN good game. Same with TF Devastation
i realy want remastered or remake, i own it on steam and it just looks blury and odd. you can tell it was made with consoles as the primary platform in mind

FoC was great! It’s a shame High Moon lost the license, because they clearly had passion for their games. Last I heard, they were doing multiplayer support for Call of Duty titles :/
FoC also opened my eyes to the fact that there’s so much untapped potential for a Transformers game. There is SO. MUCH. LORE. for a legitimate sci-fi RPG if only the property got the right treatment.
Customizing a car/robot for an RPG or the ‘Auto’ part of a GTA-style open world would be so cool.

While SpongeBob is one of my favorite Games, I want to quickly Mention Scooby-Doo: Night of a 100 Frights, from the Same Team Heavy Iron Studios. That game is a full open world, almost like a Resident Evil for Children Platformers & I Love it!
Scooby Doo: Night Of 100 Frights is an amazing game 😁 I got it a few years ago on Ps2 and played it for days, I actually completed it 100% too. Collected every Scooby Snack and every Monster Token, obviously beat the main story too ❤ I was hooked to that game, would be awesome if they remastered it just like Battle For Bikini Bottom,but I doubt that'll ever happen, since it's not really talked about that much sadly 😥 I love how there's so many references and easter eggs from the original show.

Star Wars Kotor is easilt one of my favorite games ever. Ive beat it no less then 50 times now and have done every single choice possible.

@@plutosmash6068 despite the controversy and the grind, shadow of war was far superior to the first, and I have put hundreds of hours into both. Shadow of mordor was my first game on steam, I will always have love for that game.

My personal favorite licensed game when I was a kid was definitely SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. Had great controls (except for the camera, which was difficult to use in slide challenges, especially the one in Kelp Forrest), had excellent level design, and had a lot of good jokes that matched up with the humor of the show at the time. While it didn't have a position on this list, it was cool to see footage of the Rehydrated game on here in recognition of its value. Hopefully it means we'll get to see a Completionist video on either the original game or the Rehydrated edition sometime soon.

One of my favorites is Scarface: The World Is Yours. I spent hours and hours playing this incredible extremely underrated game. Wish they would make a remaster.

I would really love it if they brought back Scott Pilgrim VS The World as a game again. I wanted this game so long, and I had learned about it after it had already been taken off of the digital marketplace.

One licensed game that I’ve been hearing rumors of a remake about is Disney’s Epic Mickey. MAN, I hope it’s true.
YES. That game deserves all the love.
Another licensed game I’d recommend is High Moon Studios Transformers: War for Cybertron. It’s a 3rd person shooter game where you switch flawlessly from robot to alt mode during battle for the Transformers homeworld. It’s very gratifying to play, and all of the vehicles feel great. Trucks, tanks, jets, cars, they all have advantages and disadvantages on the battlefield that make for some cool gameplay. It’s sequel, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is also great, and adds the Dinobots to the character roster, which add a fun new rage mechanic to the transformation process. So fun!

Spiderman is so good, after finishing the entire game, I would just boot it up and swing from one corner of the city to another because the swinging, which is 90% of what you do on the entire game, has become more therapeutic because of how seamless it is, especially when you do it right and get a boost of speed every time you land, omg - I could do this once a week to relax.

There's actually a ton of great license games, more than be covered on the list. Check out Disney Afternoon Collection on PS4 and I think also XB1. Tale Spin is kind of a dud, but the rest of the games, Duck Tales 1 and 2, Chip and Dale 1 and 2, and Darkwing Duck are all great.
There's just SO many games you can add to this list and switch around.

Much as childhood me LOVED Cool Spot (GEN), that's all nostalgia-fueled nowadays. This list is right in line with my own preferences today. Another great update!

@@squidkaisen8689 because ppl don't like if the Gameplay change all of a sudden (the same reason they don't like swimming parts in Jump'n Run, it changes the controls). For them it's maybe a nice extra at first, but then they want to be over with and play the actuall Gameplay again.

What about Dragon Ball FighterZ? I mean, that is an amazing fighting game with incredible graphics.
Came to find this exact comment. The fast paced combat of Dbfz, the references to the anime in the supers, the dramatic finishes, and perfectly matching the style of Dragon Ball. On top of being one of the best fighting games with a great metagame. I was surprised to not see it on this list. I guess he isn't much of a fan for fighting games?

The ps1 _Ghost in the Shell_ and _Spawn: In the Demon's Hand_ on Dreamcast are still fun to play like any arcade classic.

@@Phanthief95 I do miss the hidden areas of spiderman 2. The statue of liberty, the area under the bridge, or the hidden shops. Also I felt like I had less control over spider man's animations in the new game. Although, I do agree insomniac spiderman is probably objectively better package.

Pretty good list, I think one of my favourite licenced games would also include that first Chronicles of Riddick game, and would it be cheating to include the marvel/Capcom collab games let alone tatsunoko vs capcom

I remember playing the demo of simpsons arcade on my Xbox 360 and not being able to get past it, spending hours trying to do was really fun and made me love the simsons. Thank you for letting me remember that

The licensed game that I always think deserves more love is Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. Adult Swim saw Ace Attorney, and was like "Hey, we have a lawyer character. Let's work with Capcom and make one of those." It's the show, but interactive, and has all the fun of Ace Attorney with all the laughs of Harvey Birdman. I definitely get it not making this list, but I absolutely wanted to highlight it.
It took me until today to realize that "the fractured but whole" is just "the fractured butthole" and I'm incredibly embarrassed that I didn't put that together before

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World: The Game is the only video game soundtrack I’ve ever bought. That gameplay, with the graphics from the comic, and my god the music hooked me so hard back in the early PS3 days. A true love letter to beat em ups, and gaming in general. That game deserves to be available.
Growing up 2 licensed games I loved were Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout on NES and Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose! on SNES. I don't know if they hold up today, but I remember having a ton of fun playing them as a kid.
Honestly and pleasantly surprised that you included ALL of the Arkham games. Many people believe that Origins and Knight don't hold up next to the other entries. Glad to see you sticking to your guns! Er... Batarangs. Sticking to your batarangs.
When I was a kid, my best friend and I would play through TMNT: Turtles in Time every afternoon after school. I hope he's doing ok.
My favourite is the SNES Addams Family. I always loved the music, levels, and the the large amount of secrets to discover. I would never expect this game to make anyone's top 10 though haha

I remember really liking Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. Especially the first half of it. Really good for a licensed game

Two of my favorites growing up were Batman and Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers for NES. They've both aged very well and are still a blast to play.
Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay! This game was fantastic! Filled a gap in between the movies too if I'm correct. Awesome gfx and gameplay. Very cool setting with the prison as a playing field. And so on.
