    I would definitely say the cross bag/messenger bag movement caught on huge. Every major streetwear label has their own equivalent of bags etc. It is a major staple now imo.

    Chunky sneakers trend steams from actual running. After the minimalist/barefoot trend died down amidst an increase in sore legs, brands like Hoka One One with their maximalist approach have pioneered the trend in the running/trail running community that seeped into the mainstream.

    • @OfWavesAndWinds
      @OfWavesAndWinds 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I was growing up in the 80s distressed denim wasn't a trend - it was alternative fashion (for example: punk). I still remember when the trend started in the 90s and it felt very wrong to be buying jeans with holes already in it, lol.

    The chelsea boot will be a classic! Yes, indeed. I'm late to the game, but it was a natural progression for me from the suede chukka to the chelsea this year.
    I was stoked to see the chelsea boot also made this video of the top trends of the decade, after seeing it listed in the previous video as one of the top trends of the decade, that fell off. The chelsea boot has definitely reached a critical mass at this point. But I think it will be a classic casual staple.

      @Selim Sultan Akbar still, you are a fan of "fashion" which is evident by your viewing of this video. But in "fashion" there is often no "if it works, it works"-philosophy at play. On the contrary. most of the time, it even relies only on pure style, that is even getting in the way of true "working" functionality. Thus, the first fashion designers that ever existed are errolson hugh and taka kasuga. All before their arrival were mere fashion-stylists, not fashion-designers. Because they did never understand that design is the marriage of "form" *_and_* "function". Which is why i am disappointed by their absence in this video

    • @philmessina476
      @philmessina476 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I remember the "fanny pack" trending in the SF Bay Area back in the mid-to-late 1980s. It was probably trending nationwide, along with "pegged" (tapered) pants and the pompadour-mullet or flat-top mullet hybrid haircuts.
      The "fanny-pack" was called a "pouch" on the streets---drug dealer couture, I guess. Gucci and Louis Vuitton knock-offs were all the rage. I got one at the San Jose Flea Market like in 6th grade.

      I've seen bodybuilder Artemis Dolgin modelling oversized knit sweaters with slim or skinny jeans, perhaps, distressed jeans, which looks pretty cool to me. I'd be curious to know what you think.
      (But my son and wife discourage that look for men, complaining it's not masculine, or looks feminine. I thought David Bowie, Prince, et al. liberated us from such phobias with gender-bending fashions back in the 20th century.)

      I don't mind wearing "skinny jeans", as I'm very fit (and don't skip leg day). But "mature" TH-camrs on men's fashions advise against men over 40 wearing "skinny jeans" (not to mention my wife's objections).
      Meanwhile, the Casual recommends: "wear what you want, but wear it well". I guess there's the catch. It's subjective, to balance personal preference with public presentation. You gotta own it. Be happy with your own style, and refine it. To guote the Hodgson twins: "After all, you can do whatever the FUCK you wanna do."
