- Chris Harris drives the Ferrari 430 Scuderia at Fiorano. The Scuderia really is the best example of F1 racing technology appearing in a road car, with gear shift speeds of just 60 milliseconds. That's the same as the Ferrari F1 car from 2004. But is it anygood? For more Ferrari news and reviews visit www.autocar.co.uk/ferrari/

"60 milliseconds. Think about that for a second" 🤔🤨😂
Hahaha
In this video you can almost feel like you're driving it yourself. This guy's in heaven right now.
What does he mean, "Not the best thing he's seen?" This car is absolutely beautiful... I fell in love with the Modena, and now this... there aren't words to describe it...
Watching this again after Harris's Top Gear video today😎
I did the same as a lot people were saying Harris should try driving a 430 Scud...he did, 12 years ago.
Same here
I just love this car. The noise, the speed are just amaizing
It's amazing to think that only ten years after this car came out it's only a decade old.
Who's watching this 20 years later in 2027? This car is still just as good.
Gotta get through 2021 first!
huh
It’s 2021 and this car still a BADASS!!!
It's 2023 and it's still a badass car!
It's 2024 and it is. Even better, I own one@@Resist_Oppression
This guy should be the new host of topgear
+PSIMgamer 86 Tsa-daa! :D
not the best looking thing i have ever seen??? i really don't know why there are so many people saying that for the F430 and 430 scuderia. for me they are 2 of the best looking cars i have ever seen...
... and they still are in 2021!
The 430 & 430 Scud body styling are partly an homage to the 250 LM; the most recent Ferrari to win Le Mans outright. I had the honor of driving a Scud on a racetrack. I had so much fun, it was a miracle I didn't kill myself. I didn't, probably, because I didn't want to be remembered as a statistic: A person who reduced the number of Scuds on the planet by one.
@@georgesalmas4582 ooh I'm jealous. I have driven an F430, but I have never seen a Scuderia unfortunately. The Scuderia is my all time favourite car!!
i realize it's kind of randomly asking but does anybody know of a good site to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Iker Maximilian i would suggest Flixzone. Just google for it :)
The 430 SCUDERIA is a FANTASTIC CAR.THE BEST OF ALL THE FERRARI ON THE MARKET ...The Most Exciting To RIDE ...
simone MILANO do you drive one ? ....I do , and I agree, I drove F355 and Dino 246..experienced 360 and Challenge stradale...bjt this one undoubtedly is magic, the gearbox shifts are outrageous , a truly racecar on the road.
Absolutely unbelievable. Ferrari are the absolute pinnacle of automotive engineering bar none.
This is my dream car
Same here!
Exoticars19 not to many people's dream car
Great looks! Great sound! And amazingly quick everywhere! Put me down for two!
I drove one in around 2009/10 - love at first sight. still today a thrill ride every time.
I think this is my favourite car reviewer guy ever!
he's brilliant, conveys the passion & the excitement really well!
I like it
I was there earlier today!!!! Saw 458, 599XX, LP-570-4 superleggera, California, 599, 430 scuderia, and got a very special surprise visit from a 599 GTO!!! what an amazing sound that car makes all are truly incredible.
I'm in love with this car! It looks like so much fun to drive!
Very nice video thank you very much for bringing this wonderful car a little bit closer.
I just can't get it - why so many people says that "It's not the best looking thing"? In my opinion F430 and F430 Scuderia are very awesome and pretty cars! Especially then you see it on the road by your own eyes.
I love the Scuderia!
Great Video! :)
Excellent review!
That V8 sound, oh that sound.
it would be a dream come true to get driving lessons from Chris or even just to talk to him about driving the p1 and 918 maybe even 675 lt
This car looks perfection in light blue & definitely the colour I’d buy one in
My EK9 sounded just like that after I put a modified exhaust system! 9000+rpm
When he was stretching her legs on the racetrack, my heart was pounding. Such an impressive piece of machinery...Gotta love it...Wish I could drive one just once! heh
Chris Harris Classic
16 years later... Here I am paying slightly more for it now
Actually I have seen both a Enzo and Scuderia in person. They are both stunning cars, the Enzo for that matter is probably the best car of the 21 century. All I'm saying is the front end sticks out a little.
The visceral experience of driving the ferrari 430 Scuderia is clearly conveyed in this video. Arguably, it's more exciting than a ferrari 458 to drive, at least that's what I heard on another video about the Scuderia. I can only imagine that the successor to this car, the 458 scuderia, will be just mind blowing.
This will be in my collection
When I have a collection.
@AMGfanBoy
well noticed. these cars have much more lock to lock motion than F1s so it is unable to mount it on the steeringwheel itself
The review by Tiff from Fifth Gear is also quite good and I believe he also did a lap in the Enzo in a earlier episode and compared his time in the Scuderia to that of the Enzo and they were identical.
You've got to hand it to the guy ... Chris has a fantastic ability to chitter away about the car whilst spanking the thing to its limits
awesome review
well, in westbloomfield, michigan, at cauley ferrari, they have a yellow 430 scuderia without stripes and a gray one with stripes and gold rims
best automotive journalist that ever was, good job mr. harris you deserve an extra lap
This guy is a proper car journalist man
this guy is the best reviewer ever
Drove one of these... Astounding.
Great driver!!! I really like his reviews
Thanks bro.
The only reason I ask is I don't like
teh double striping on the Scuderia but
I do love the everything else.

This guy is actually quite good. Though he doesn't have quite the entertainment value of Top Gear he is easy to listen to and unlike Fifth Gear is actually just being himself as it seems. The car, well I often when watching these reviews do my best (though its impossible to completely succeed of course) to put myself (from his commentary) into his shoes and if I were in his shoes I'd be amazed at just how precisely good the car is, and just what a masterpeice it is.
i wasn't going to watch this whole video but i did because the guy hooked me in. he's exciting to listen to
I still maintain that it is the best sounding car after Lexus LFA
No Carrera GT? The LFA and CGT stand alone. But a straight piped 430 sounds amazing. Neighbor has 1.
Just a quick question, are these limited edition?? If so, how many in total have they produced? Reason is that it seems very hard to get one even if u have the cash for em. Maybe buying one that is marked up from private seller/broker?
@Raimondo988 the colour of this particular car is Azzuro California
The noises & gear changes this is a proper old school but fairly new Ferrari it's a brute & it's better for it
Wow. I'll never afford this thing. Look at the brakes. The front discs. They are nearly the size of the wheels! Holy mother, this Italian is such an art ..
@superDrmaximus That particular blue, Grigio Alloy, is my favorite color for the Scuderia. Every time I change my mind about my favorite color, I ALWAYS go back to Grigio Alloy. There's just something so special about it. I think because of the way it accentuates the lines of the car so perfectly.
It is possible to fit the 430 scuderia with a HiFi stereo radio as in the basic F430??
@DennisBerkhout1 Yeah I realized that after I wrote it down. I must of confused it with this other, dark red Scuderia w/ the stripes. That was a Scuderia though; more agressive front fascia and raised rear exhausts etc.
This is the second Ferrari video I've seen where it looks like the driver wore a racing harness on the road, and a regular 3 point seatbelt on the track. Is it so the driver is easier to extract if they crashed?
This guy is great, he knows his stuff. topgear is just entertainment
this guy is the best autocar host!
one of the best cars yet!
One of the Suderia's at the dealer near my house had one of these in a dark red, with no stripes and a gated manual gearbox.
Nope @Alec D. You saw an F430. The Scuds did not come with a gated manual
F430 Scuderia has the best seat and driving position in the world. That's if you happen to be a small person. But I truly loved the F430 on a race track. It's a great car. No doubt. Now you say: "You have never driven one!". Yes, that's correct. I have never driven an F430 coupe, only the F430 Spider M16. So, I know nothing about this hard top sister model. But the Spider version is marvellous machine.
I know I would be sane and buy a Z06 instead, but boy would I love to own that. That sound is amazing.
@SuperApparition
Yeah yeah, I saw your Ferrari bashing on a Ferrari California video too, did you work for JP morgon or Fiat Australia?
"not the best looking" WTF ur kidding me this FERRARI is sexy as fuuck!!!
they cahtched the sound so good in this video
How much faster is the gearbox on the scuderia than the stock 430 ? I am thinking of either saving up for n F-430 or a ZR1 corvette. I know ferarri's maintenance and repairs would be a bitch, but how often do you have to send your car in the the ferrari shop? " I know how to change my own oil/filters and easy general maintenance. But how often do parts break down and tune-ups occur? Please answer this legit. Thanks guys
yeah thats true but for example when I cruise in a city or on a motorway at 6th gear it is good to listen some music. Otherwise, Superleggera has a radio, GT3 and GT2 have a radio
favorite Ferrari since the Dino, till this day nothing has topped it to this day.
theres paddles on the side that you pull and it changes gears
please tell me witch is faster ferrari testerossa or ferrari scuderia i have the testerossa and my brother has the scuderia we want to race to see witch is faster but the roads are broken up in my city please tell me!!!!:)
well in michigan, cauley ferrari, they have a yellow one without stripes, and a gray one with stripes and gold rims
@MegaShitler
what car would you go crazy over?
I do wish that they would fit the paddles to the wheel. I have driven an F1 gear box and as impressed as I was, I was infuriated by having to take my hand off the wheel amid corner to get the down shift. I know u should have shifting done before the corner but it was a high speed corner :\
i'm thinking about renting this car for the weekend but not the scuderia, it's not available for rent, gonna have me a blast!
I agree with nitromad1, to an extent. You have to remember this video is meant as an addition to those of us who buy autocar regular, who appreciate how good of a driver chris really is and how honest he is. To you 'ignite7' i say get a life, his job is to test drive new cars to their limits and report on that, what has he failed to do?! Quite simply if you don't like his reporting style, or feel he's done a bad service, feel free to turn off.
this guy is awesome sucks he isnt in the newer ones
Yeah i believe the paddle's come as an option if memory serves right
"A baby F1"
I like that. Describes this car perfectly.
@walker20082009 He is also driving on the right side of the road.. Id have to say somewhere in the NE USA.
Whats the difference between the F430 and the F430 Scuderia?
Is it possible to tune an stock 430 to be comparable to a Scuderia?
Thanks -
JB
How does he start with a blue one and end in a grey one? Ferrari is magic!
nice ride :D
very sweat car in person. went over to a friends house who just picked his up. bad ass
Not sure what you mean, I'm reading it as you see more Ferrari 430s than Audi R8s, or are you saying you see more Ferraris (brand) than R8s (model)?
one of my friends relatives have a scudy its soo nice
He says he likes the F430 scud more than a 599 but then 5 yrs later he buys a 599 fair enough I would if I could
Well, went to the dealership 2days ago. And they told me that these were all sold out. So I'd just pick the "Normal" F430. Guess I'd have to do some mods. Luckily it comes standard with Carbon Ceramic brakes for this year model.
I LOVE THIS CAR!!!
I do think that Chris is a logical replacement for one of the boys on Top Gear! I reckon he would be good.
è un'auto davvero spettacolare...
ancora complimenti alla ferrari!!!
Chris Harris is apparently working for EVO now.
damnn.... the car looks fast and cool !
wow thats a great present
Even if you have a reasonably quick tuned Evo, you can't make that Evo have a sequential manual gearbox that upshifts in 60 ms, which is as fast (as he points out) as the Ferrari F2004 Formula 1 car by spending an extra 100,000 dollars. You can't make your car as light, since the F430 is constructed almost entirely of carbon fiber.
i usually dont like the padel shift but i think that if i ever got a scuderia it would be with the flickers...but i still perfer a clutch
lets wait to see this car at tsukuba, i bet it does the lap in under a minute
I'm here from Chris' Twitter post and yes you're old 😅😂
You need to change shift in high speed turns and sometimes when you make a mistake.
This and the 599 are the only two Ferraris I give a damn about.
Shcumacher matched the Ferrari test driver's time around this track in this car. The thing is... the other guy was driving an Enzo.
your very lucky! ive driven a 360 and that was awesome, this must be better
I'm a Ferrari nut. Absolutely.
However my little quirk about the F430 is that the cluster is wearing a "flappy hat". It is, go look!! Its a freaking flappy hat sitting on the dashboard above the instrument cluster. Drives me nuts. Its all frumpy looking.
Would be better in red, but amazing car test WOW!!!
