    Got a 2021 recon ES in tan and its awesome, also got a 2021 footshift rancher in red. Id prefer footshoft on the recon also but getting a honda atv in my area was hard enough and thats what the atv dealer near me got in so i took it.
    The orange color is cool, i bought a tow hitch on amazon so i can hookup a cart to it. I love the rancher and my gf uses the recon but theyre both really fun and even though the recon is 2wd it has gone everywhere the rancher does.
    Im 6ft 300lbs and the recon still hauls my ass around easily but my knees are closer to the top of the gas tank. Still comfortable for an adult and a good size for shorter people.

    Had a Recon foot shift for 9 yrs. Absolute AWESOME machine ! Never any trouble performed incredibly ! Amazing where this little Quad can go and what it can do. Upgraded to a Rancher 4x4

    I have a 2020 Green Recon foot shift. Yes they are cold natured and can be a little bit of a pain to get going when cold. I love it though. I love the sporty exhaust note that these Recons make. They really do sound good and have a lot of power for a 250

      I love my wifes 250 Recon so much I may just get another instead of the Rancher I've been eyeing. (currently running a 2005 Polaris 330 ) I'm 5 10' 160lbs and the Rancher isn't necessary. Bonus I can go places the Rancher can't with the little Recon. It DEF lives up to its name reconnaissance!

    I really want a recon but I wish there was better colour options because it’s better not having to look at different years for colour options such as the 23s don’t have tan but the older ones do

    Speaking of putting a kid of a certain age on one, I have put my 6 year old in front of me on it and am teaching him the throttle control and since mine is thumb shift i left him do that while im behind him but still in control..
    He is about 4ft 2in and with that thumb electric shift there is no doubt in my mind that he would be able to drive it solo. Of course I never would but i have to say with his powerwheels at 2 years old he learned the concept of steering, braking and manuevring so while I cant say that ill wait til he is 16 for the recon, he will be damn close size wise and mentality wise not too long but thats still too uncertain for me..
    I have however recently cutting grass let him drive my 46" Husqvarna riding mower on turtle speed with the mower blades disengaged and he did well.
    I imagine in another few years ill have my own free labor cutting the bulk of the grass and I can chime in on the more fine details.. he is chomping at the bit.. i think im gona start him off on a 125cc atv but most are the cheap chinese ones and i cannot afford a name brand and reviews are mixed on the cheapy ones so i dont know.

      Just food for thought Yamaha makes a 50 atv... its 6 and up. Otherwise in a Honda they make the 90 but that's 10 and up. I've been around the Yamahas and the child quads they make are fool proof.

    Biggest thing on these is to buy that circle hitch plate, they sell em on amazon and it allows you to pull carts, its a direct bolt on to the differential and i think i paid less than like $30 for it.

    You didn’t mention plenty about the bike that people would want to know. It has drum brakes, not disks. Honda also omitted the pull start now. So it’s a cheaply made bike that is now made even cheaper, yet the price keeps climbing.

    Finally located and bought my wife her 2022 Recon ES (Moose Poop Brown) and its awesome! I'm looking at the Rancher for myself but torn between the fixed axel or independent rear. Whats your opinion when used for non-hard core (basic woods , mud and sand) off road?
    BTW great review!

    • @BrickNick931
      @BrickNick931  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Get the straight axle! Save your money. it’s like 90 pounds lighter for straight axle lol. The independent is stiff in my opinion.

    • @HomesteadOnThePreserve
      @HomesteadOnThePreserve 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tristanmulder4766 Paid MSRP plus the basic fees which were not inflated at all. FL has 6% sales tax and $250 for dealer prep because they actually have some assembly when it comes from Japan. Got it from Rick Case in Davie, they were great!

    I noticed that you keep using the word "quad " or "sport quad" and I've even heard someone use the term "ATV" once . But, I never talk like that and none of my family ever talk like that. And I don't know of anybody that has. I've always heard them call those a
    "four wheeler" or. "4-wheeler"
    That's like when I was a kid my dad bought me a brand new 1985 Honda 250 Big Red "3 wheeler" .
    But I've never owned a " 4-wheeler".
