We just picked up this exact machine. I think it’s a happy medium between performance, capability and price for us anyway. We drove them all and the rmax definitely has a better suspension but it’s $6k more when we priced these out. The x2 1000 shouldn’t exist in my opinion it’s to close in price to the rmax.

13:50 The grizzly is only 14 lbs heavier than a kodiak 700 and only half an inch higher (2" higher at the seat which I believe its has a thicker padded seat). It is 2 inches wider which can lead to slightly better suspension feel. The main problem with the kodiak 450 is its the same weight and frame as the 700 which means you have a smaller engine struggling more. I can only come up with 2 reasons to choose the Kodiak 450 which is price and if you are buying it for the kids and you want to tame things down for safety. I own a rancher420 , rubicon520 , and grizzly. I will say the grizzly is hands down better in almost every way than my hondas and I was a honda fanboy (previous dirt bikes and current motorcycle as well) until I bought our wolverine x2 850 and then the grizzly.

The pioneer 500/520 is not a duel clutch!!!! Why does everyone think that ? What makes everyone think that? It is a manual transmission with an electric shift motor and E.S.P. like Honda has used in their ATV's sense the 400ES !!! That's been more that 20 years ago !! Honda took the DCT transmission idea from the gold wing not nearly that long ago. It's not a duel clutch or ( DCT ) its just a electric shift manual transmission that has a auto shift control module!!!! Like every other "ES" model ATV Honda has ever made that I know of . A duel clutch transmission is a completely different animal.

No way im doing that with my new 421 Kodiak, plowing is hard on machines, i go with snownblowers here in new england, nice clean job, plows just make a mess.

Maybe I am blind but I see a big old carb. I have a 2023 and besides a carb is so much easier if there is a problem. I did not learn much I use mine for cutting wood and it is very nice. Simple goes over allot. Works well with a trailer.

It's hard for me to pass up honda for a yamaha. Hondas are just so freaking reliable and can really take a beating without missing a beat. The low end power of the Hondas are very good if you have to move a fallent tree off a trail or pull a heavy trailer

Went in wanting to get the rancher. Left with the kodiak. Rancher felt like it was going to tip over barely turning with any speed. Kodiak gripped and ripped. A thousand dollars less for independent rear suspension, more tow capacity, heavier rack limit, 3" more ground clearance. The handling isn't close. Kodiak felt very good and both are dependable.

This past sat i bought a red 420 honda rancher 4x4 foot shift the dealer add it priced at $7,249 i havent got to ride it much but so far i like it

I'm in the process of buying this and of course they offer a 4 year extended warranty. Typically I don't buy into these but are you aware of any mechanical issues with these? Thanks
