    Best bass I’ve ever owned. Upgraded the pickups with Seymour Duncan quarter pounders and a Babicz bridge and it plays and sounds like a dream.

    I love your reviews. This shows that a good player makes an average bass better.

    I would love to see Fender do some of these more interesting designs with their American-tier quality.
    Squier gets some really unique designs and even things like matching headstocks that you can’t often get in the American Pro/Original series … you have to get into Custom Shop territory before seeing those options become available again and CS is just not going to happen for most players
    Squier is super nice these days but it feels like a missed opportunity

    • @jaxonvictoria4345
      @jaxonvictoria4345 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They know what they’re doing so players spend dough on every tier.

    • @EmpireMusicPgh
      @EmpireMusicPgh  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You see it occasionally on limited runs in different series, but you're right. They make great stuff across the board for so many different players and their wants/needs.. Thanks for watching and commenting - Anthony

      Their Parallel Universe series is what you’re describing. For example they made a PJ version of this bass and it’s gorgeous. But that line is 2,000+ and very limited

      @@SarkagianGaribaldian exactly. Plus there’s always the Custom Shop for people who like this spec or that spec or whatever to be “American made.”

      @@jaxonvictoria4345 for sure. Personally I plan on buying this one and upgrading the hardware, maybe even slapping on a roasted maple j bass neck. Still less than a custom shop.

    I bought one of these in the butterscotch finish and it is my favorite bass right now. I saw your original review of the 2020 model, along with other TH-camrs whom i respect, and took the chance and I highly recommend getting one NO MATTER WHAT YOUR LEVEL OF PLAYING IS. IT SO MUCH FUN! and it was so easy to adjust to my playing. I just played a gig where I had to play a mixed bag od styles and it covered everything very well. The only change I made to it is a black Kickass bridge which just added to it's sound and look! GET IT!

    Great demo! It kinda sounds like a Rickenbacker with the tone all the way up. Amazing

    Answers the question "What would the Jazz Bass look like if it had been introduced in '54 instead of '60?"
    The pictures of the black one on Fender's website don't do it justice, the pick guard looking like some kind of woodgrain material, which initially put me off. It had me looking into custom replacements. It isn't woodgrain though, but plastic, having the appearance of gold anodized aluminium with a lightly brushed finish. I think gold plated hardware would really make it pop.
    I get to pick mine up today or tomorrow.

      They are great regardless of the price! I find myself playing my older Vintage Modified Squier often... the ONLY negative I can ever say is that they are more finicky with humidity changes than my higher end basses. Sound and play great, just need to keep an eye on the setup more often. Thanks for watching - Anthony

      @@EmpireMusicPgh Whew, I thought my Affinity basses were the only ones reacting a lot to humidity and temperature changes. Squiers do look and sound a lot like fenders, but seldom do reviewers mention things like durability and stability. I mean you have to give up something for the price...

    I don't know why they stopped production of the blonde model. That was what they used in the 50's. If you want to produce a replica, then stay true to the color.
