- The Slaws visit The Pendle Inn in Barley, in the Forest of Bowland - an area of outstanding natural beauty.
To get there, they cross the famous Saddleworth Moor in hazardous conditions (famous for the Moors murders). The roads are covered in snow and they are in Helga their 7m 3.5t Hobby motorhome 😱 Helga handles the roads with ease with Slaw at the helm. @HobbyCaravan
Quick lunch stop at Mucky D's, before more hazardous conditions as they climb up through the borough of Pendle.
Once parked up at The Pendle Inn, they set off with their Lhasa Apso dogs, Billy and Jessie for a beautiful walk in a stunning winter wonderland past the Lower Black Moss reservoir to Aitken Woods. There they pick up the Pendle Sculpture Trail. Lots of doggy cam picks up Billy and Jessie frolicking in th snow. Don't miss it. It's too cute!
Mrs Slaw is enthralled at the exciting sculptures as they appear out of the woods. Scary black dog! Magical unicorn! Very moving witches in chains portraying the 8 women who were marched 46 miles to be tried and hanged for witchcraft in 1612.
Slaw pops the drone up and captures the stunning scenery.
They have a really good meal in the delightful 1930's pub and enjoy chatting with locals and Nicola and Leo. Really great to meet you guys!
It was a lovely, quiet evening overnight in the car park, except for the torrential rain. However, this meant that the snow was washed away for the drive home.
Before heading home, the Slaws enjoy breakfast at The Barley Mow. They check social media and fine they have hit 5000 subscribers! Thank you each and everyone. we love you ❤️
I'm Pendle born and bred, so it's great to actually see someone visiting Pendle as there do not seem many youtuber motorhome/van lifers etc., actually visit the area. Glad to see the snow didn't put you off travelling. We just get on with it here in Lancashire and don't let the weather deter us from getting out and about. On the main Barley car park , there are leaflets for walks, the sculpture trail and other local attractions available to pick up from the cafe.
Thank you! Yes, as you saw we don’t let snow bother us either. We know that the pub has had a few motorhomes stay since we published this one, so hopefully bringing money into the local economy 👍🏻

Great video, took me a while, but got round to it. I delivered in the area many years ago,and that snow was nothing. I was once driving down a lane in a 7.5 ton Bedford TK and the snow on both sides was higher than the cab - happy days. During the summer I delivered around Malham and Grassington but as trade was quieter in winter I did Sabden, Barley and surrounding villages. My wife and son always came with me, don't think it would be allowed now

Nice to see you out and about come what may. Another security tip. Turn the drivers seat round to face cabin. Then drill out a hole through the swivel plate and seat frame big enough for a security padlock. Then place the padlock into the hole. Have you ever seen someone try and drive with the seat facing the wrong way. Along with your pedal lock you will be covered. Consider having the Vanbitz Growler and non starter alarm /immobiliser installed. good bit of kit.
Thank you for the tip. We had a growler on our last Hobby. We have a Smartrack on this one monitored by Global Telemetrics. And we can remotely immobilise as well. Slaw👍

When you are down in South Wales I recommend a master class at Penderyn....with a taxi back 😀. Those locks are great and the lock can be switched around to avoid drilling out. Little more fiddling though. Enjoyed the video!

Really enjoyed this vlog. Barley looks beautiful. Looked like you struck it lucky seeing the statues. No one else seemed to be around. I can imagine it’s very busy in the summer. That full English breakfast looked delicious! Great filming and drone footage and of course, the two pups are so cute!

As always, fabulous to see you guys, you have inspired us to get going ourselves! Loved the video, thought the dogs may disappear at one point 😀 and it’s a destination for us. A question for us beginners, how do you work with the dirty / wet boots in the motorhome, entry etc? Looking forward to the next one💯
Thanks Smiler! We have boot bags and transport the boots in them. If we’re only out night it’s not a problem as we dry them at home. If we need to dry them when we’re out and about it’s more difficult, but we use the shower as a drying room. Thanks for watching 🚍☀️

Hi Lisa, the Pendle Inn don’t do breakfasts, but the pub along the road does. Just a two minute walk to the Barley Mow pub.

Hi you guys. Been watching all your vids with such pleasure. We’re new to motorhoming and still kitting up. Could I ask you what camping chairs you use.
Hi Steve and welcome! Glad the vlogs are helpful. We have three sets of chairs and mix and match depending on the occasion 🤪 When touring and then camping (like our France trip last year) we took the Lafuma gravity chairs for sunbathing and afternoon snoozing. Also the directors chairs for everyday sitting and eating. If space is tight we also have Kampa Dometic Firenze chairs with detachable footrests. They cover all occasions as you can sit upright for eating and can use them as Sun loungers too. Hope that’s useful 👍🏻
