    I live around this area, and I would recommend visiting Pendle and it’s villages followed by a trip through the Trough of Bowland to Lancaster Castle, which is the route that the witches were transported along, (no M6 then) and you can actually end up in the dungeon the poor witches were taken. They were also sentenced there and hung on a hill just outside Lancaster, you can even go in a pub where many were allowed a last drink before the hanging. If you want a guided tour, the best guy for this is Simon Entwistle of Top Hat tours. Please note I am writing this during the virus lockdowns, so it’s well worth checking before you decide to visit.

    Very interesting, i used to go and stay at my Aunts farm at Twiston when i was a kid like half a century ago, Twiston lies at the bottom of the steep end of Pendle and at the age of 6 or 7 i new about the Pendle whitches and as a curious as we are when where kids. I asked my uncle n aunt some questions, the answers amazed me but all so put the fear of god in to me hence i had several sleepless nights after that, was never that keen at going back to Twiston for my holidays again but had to go,

    An update on this is that the cottage was excavated and indeed was a cottage from around 1600s with a brick stove and they even found the skeleton of a cat in a wall space!!- it was really something else!!

    We lived at Newchurch in one of the cottages facing the Lamb Inn, now a private house. About 55 years ago. Never ever went up Pendle Hill. At the time there were two families called Lancashire, us at Newchurch and one at Spen Brook.

    Very nice piece, I was in the area late last year and stayed at Damhead Barn a really nice place in Roughlee where Alice Nutter is said to have frequented. I was there researching for our album release later this year; "The Witching of Pendle".

      Philip Fletcher I’d like to know how anybody could think it wasn’t real. Me and a friend with my niece tried climbing the big guy in 2019 aka pendle hill but didn’t quite make it to the top. We are trying again this year.

    The fact that the woman singing in the background can't really sing is what makes this all the more creepy. I think her voice is PERFECT for this video.

    Victims deserve an official pardon. Any surviving relatives need to be given back the stolen land. Original land that was stolen from their ancestors or land equal to what was taken or an equal financial settlement. Response to video only.

    • @rachaelstanley7986
      @rachaelstanley7986 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. If it was Malkin Tower, the "witches" bricked the animal up alive as a protection against....witches. It was a common practice.

    • @marksadventures3889

      I think the evil's that have been done in the name of that deity speak for themselves. "And do as thou whilst and harm none is the law" - I think that stands for itself. Yes King James Matthew 7 versus 1-3 :" Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you". Seems he can't abide his own transcription. Later he regretted his action at the trial of a boy who lied and cost lives it was recanted. The act against Witchcraft was repealed.
