Pro tip: be outside when you do this so you don't put your little brother to sleep
I think I've already done that twice lol.
Or a lightbulb…

hayden's obi ani in ahsoka was so SMOOTH I cannot
I realize this is only choreographed sword movement but the Obi-Ani spin you demonstrate is an actual striking and blocking movement in Filipino Kali. This technique is also seen in some Italian forms. To make your technique stronger, DO NOT OPEN your hand when spinning your blade as it makes it easier to be disarmed. Of course starting out will be difficult so you need to practice the movement slowly and speed up as you gain competence. Flexibility, strength and stability can be gained training your wrists at least 2x a week. In Kali or Arnis the torquing spinning technique is used to create speed and power either for a deflecting block/parry or slash and strike.
I was wondering about this precisely. How useful in ‘real’ battle would it be. Though I love the movement regardless 😂
I've been trying for way too long and have looked at numerous tutorials but I still dont understand why my spins dont line up. The first spins don't connect fluidly to the last one. Does anyone know what i could be doing wrong?
Thanks for this video tutorial. I just ordered a saber so my son and I can have fun together. He's 5 and just now getting into Star Wars and his absolute favorite duel is between Obi and Ani. He watches the video at least once a day so if I can learn some of these tips and tricks to teach him, safely, it would be amazing. Thank you again for all you do and keep doing what you do.
Love that ♥️
I am not a Jedi but I am a martial artist and self taught swordsman. I appreciate these videos as they still teach me new applicatple techniques to my own style. Thank you.
YEP!^
None of these techniques are applicable to swordsmanship lol. In actual sparring/fencing, doing any of this is gonna lose you the match.
This is stuff that was originally made for film as choreographed cool looking moves. I am also a swordsman, and would never do any of these with an actual sword unless I just wanted to show off. 🤷🏻♂️
I taught myself to
Bro I have watched all these tutorials and they haven't helped at all. Like I've got the basics down but they didn't help! You have no idea how long I have been waiting for you to post a tutorial. I know I'm a bit late viewing this video but this video has helped me so much!! Thank you Tuhqa! Keep up the work 💪
Whoa thanks so much! Did mine actually help you learn it then? Ill be posting more of these soon as well 🙌
@@Tuhqa They have helped me more than ever, I'm so glad I found this video! I also watch all your videos, especially the lightsaber reviews. They have helped me pick out my next neopixel lightsaber. Anakin's Lightsaber from Episode 3! Again thanks so much!
This is sick! I've had a neopixel for about a year now, but it's been festering in a corner as I always thought I'd never be able to do any proper tricks - they always looked too difficult to replicate lmao. You've really helped break it down tho, and I think I'm getting a lot better! Thanks for the tutorial mate :D
i was thinking of this exact move like 2 days ago where i made an off comment to a co-worker how cool the obi-ani looked and how i would like to learn it one day when i get my own saber. this video is a blessing and definitely something im going to show around to all my peers who are huge star wars nerds like me.
thank you for this video, it is absolute perfection.
update: i bought a saber from imperial workshop and got the vega v3 saber. it will be arriving in roughly 5 days so i am very excited to start my path to the obi-ani technique and my training to master form III
The amount of time i've waited for Tuhqa to make a tutorial is too much time
Thats nice to hear 💜 Gonna make more in the future!
The saber sound effects are so pristine and in sync with every spin that I’m not even listening to you 😂
Fair enough haha
I studied this myself for 1 month from a video by one blogger "Sergio nee" but it didn't work out because he didn't explain it in such detail, but you explained it perfectly thank you! I 'm from Russia and I really appreciate Star Wars
Great tutorial! I finally figured out the obi ani spin, this is the first obi ani tutorial that helped me understand this skill. ❤
FRIK YES
I’m already an experienced saber spinner 😂 but i watched this to see how well you did, and i can say it’s very good. 10/10 would recommend
Thanks man 🤝
Great tutorial my guy, probably the best and most detailed tutorial available 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Ayee thanks man!!
Great tutorial...the neopixel sabers are looking so real they can practically replace CGI...who'd thought, as a kid back in 1983 when ROTJ came out, that we'd eventually have realistic looking lightsaber's. Not Fluorescent plastic tubes with hilts or flashlights...Absolutely Amazing.
Yea, I brought home two from a convention I was at and my folks were saying "if we had these back in the day we would be the coolest kids"
Man, that was a great video! I've got to learn that. This is the way!
Great tutorial, thank you! It looks like there are more spins than there actually are.
It does!
You're a damn legend for this tutorial.
💚
Dude! you're sick man ⚡︎Much thanks!
Anakin during the Obi-wan Anakin duel on Mustafar probably: I'll try spinning, that's a good trick
Strange story. I found changing the name of the motion from a spin to a whip made it all made so much more sense. Great vid❤
I literally screamed in happiness when I finally learnt this move. ❤😂😂 Are we able to get a tutorial how to do this move while spinning like what Anakin does?
I think that will be my next one :)
Not even a big Star Wars fan but playing with these at night seems like it would be really fun
I think so!
Thanks can’t wait for the next video😊
Lesgo dude I'm glad you're doing tutorials that will for sure help.
More to come!
If you do another spinning tutorial, might I suggest a few double-bladed spinning techniques
Sure!
Love it, took me a bit but i did it thanks to your !!!
heck ya, so this helped me learn it and I can now do this skill after 1 hour. 10/10
I already am an expert on this but I’m here for the Algorithm.
Appreciate you
I’m a professional with swords, so this is a great video. Good job
Thanks!
Your welcome
awesome video learned it literally in the length of the video ggod job man
Glad to hear it!!
Great tutorial
Wow. Thank you Tuhqa, this video really helped me learn to spin a lightsaber and I’ve been waiting for a while so this is probably one of the best lightsaber spinning tutorial videos I’ve ever watched. 🔦🗡️
🙌🙌
i really liked your tutorial, helped me a lot
Glad to have helped :)
I’m planning on getting that tuhqa saber it looks great
MORE DESIGNS IN THE NEXT MONTH OR SO
I said it once and I’ll say it again
Bros swings are immaculate 👌
Thanks dood! Much appreciated
Thanks so much for the syep-by-step!
Yep yep!
I did this with a duster handle and it still works😂
W tutorial 🔥
Acompanhado o canal aqui do Brasil, ótimo trabalho, parabéns
🇧🇷 ❤️🔥
I was here before this hit 100k views!!!
WOOOO W POGGERS
This video will really help my obi ani spin in my videos. Thanks Tuhqa
Of course 🫶
I think a better name for the spin would be the Hayden spin since he's the first that brought it on screen. He actually learned the spin because he saw (probably a stunt guy) doing it. He thought it looked cool.
I love you videos and do you think you could do dual sabers tutorials please!
Watching a video of a tutorial for a fictional universe`s fictional weapon`s fictional martial art just shows you the commitment of SW fans :D
For everyone in the comments, start really slow and make sure you have a good grip on your saber when you go faster
👌
I practiced this with one of my swords (they are all extremely sharp).
I already am an expert with swords, so I wasn’t worried about getting cut, but I should have considered that I might hit something behind me.
I ended up hitting the 3 & 1/2 inch thick maple (wood) table behind me with my tungsten carbide broadsword and slicing clean through it.
After that, I decided to do what I should’ve done from the start; do it outside.😂
Thank you :)
Я так внимательно смотрел, будто прям щас взял бы какую нибудь палку и начал тренироваться.
Hi Tuhqa, thanks for the training.
Welcome you are, Padawan
I think the moving leg in thing look cool because it’s different
First turtorial🎉🎉🎉🎉
WOOP WOOP
Hey Tuhqa! Great video and explanations. Any recommendations on which company I should purchase the CW Maul Saber and the best blade length like 32” (82cm) or 36” (92cm)?
Cw maul huh? Id say KyberSabers, AllySabers, SaberTheory and compare prices. I would go with a 32 inch for sure
Great tutorial, and that hilt is fuckin sick. 🔥
Awesome!! Thank you for the tutorial.
Also how much is the % using your code.
I bought a few cheap rgbs from dynamic saber, I was worried before getting them due to how mixed people are on them, but I can say I’m very happy with them, although I think I’m going to grab a neo pixel from imperial workshop next time I purchase one, because the Neo pixels look incredible. The rgb’s are great but the little ring shape that forms at the top is probably the worst part
🔥🔥🔥
started learning flourishes about a wk ago, so i at this point ive seen a ton of obi ani tutorials. love your vids! feedback for this tutorial: way too long. best ones ive seen are under a min. reason being is it loops much more frequently. learning bodily movements effectively requires rapid repetition. we wanna see it from start to finish as short, effective and frequently as possible so we can follow along and restart right away.
thats fair, but if i may add, some people cannot learn that way and need step by step guides in order to get the movement down. not everyone can learn from rapid shooting tutorials the same way and in some cases it can hinder a persons ability to learn it entirely. there are benefits to having short and long tutorials.
Yeah, I needed the slow broken down type of tutorial, so this style really worked for me. We are just different type of learners ☺️
Great instructional video. I learned that move. I did it with a baseball bat😄 instead of a lightsaber. Hello from Russia
The "god damn!"😂😂😂
Why does everyone rush through the behind you to in front of you part in these tutorials. I don’t understand the movement. :(
Skip to 1:36 to skip all the dribble and get to what you came here for
…Holy Frick I think I already knew how to do this
W
I watch this video alot to remind myself how it is done.
Do you think Atlas v3 from Imperial Workshop is a great choise for first lightsaber?
Absolutely!
Is that saber made from glass ? I need one but afraid to drop it
FINALLY
WOOOO
I love to make my own saber
epic
finally I can be cool too
Im so confused on the back and bringing it back and slashing. I have to make my saber lose velocity and go the other way which really doesnt allow the fluid motion
I didn’t realize how much of the hip shimmy matters I’ll have to mix it in next time I practice.
Have you got any lightsabers from Padawan outpost? And would you recommend it?
I dont but Padawan is extremely reliable and has a better selection than most places
@@Tuhqa Thanks man time to hurt my bank account
1st step. Have a lightsaber
I’ve already failed😭
I learned with a broom handle thing
More pls
Of course!
As soon as the lightsaber goes behind my back that's when I get stuck😭💀
Stiff as a board, hard as a rock.
It looks like Anakin's windmill that he has done since Episode 2 and also in Ashoka.
Would this work with a crossguard saber?
That is so unbelievably cool! I had never even thought about using a sabre myself, but then YT throws this video to me, and WOW! I had no idea what saber grips were, and can even spin with relative ease/control! That would make a SUPER awesome Halloween costume part, knowing how to do that!
How long did it take you to get the hang of it and make it look THAT simple and easy?
@TUHQA, You seen Sabertrios new chasis systems? +299$ compared to "Legacy" chasis? You know anything about this? Differences, Etc?
Super cool! I think its worth it and Id love to have one someday. Makes changing and charging easier im sure. Hopefully it doesnt compromise sound quality
❤
💜
You made a saber for spinning with no choke?
Yea i personally dont need a choke point although it does help quite a lot. This one is great in the hands still!
4:31 "keep walking and not move my leg" 💀💀💀
Well - thats not how I meant it 😂😂
Hey @Tuhqa! I created a new video a few minutes ago that I recorded last night. Should be available in a few minutes. Thanks for whatever guidance you can provide.
Ill check it out!
Tutorial for the skilled
My lightsaber always wants to hit me
I have the same problem 🤔
Thank you master ........but....... I don't have the glow stick........
Just…. Wow
how did you aford all of those lightsabers
Lots of overtime at Work!
Can you make a video on how to upload soundfonts?
Possibly!
@@Tuhqa 😯
Hey tuhqa I have a question for you, the person with the most lightsabers in the world, here it is: Is RGB sabers are good ?
yes they are!
@@Tuhqa Thanks, because I will (probably) get a RGB saber for Xmas, and I will do this spin !
Edit: I didn't get one :( but I get a PS5 and will probably buy jedi survivor
Where can I buy a cool lightsaber like this but under 200 dollars
your saber is a Neo Pixel o ar Combat RGB?
neopixel!
is that baselit, or neopixel?
neopixel
This is still too hard for me unless I had someone in person
is cr saber good?
never heard of them
I smacked my light doing this. Do it outside guys
I'm pretty sure I can do it,,, I have trained in the katana and there are moves close to that spin
