5:31 As a man who has been training with a saber staff for the past 3 months, "use the Force" is actually very good advice 😆. They are HEAVY, and build a ton of momentum. Once you're able to feel that momentum and guide it, even basic spins and maneuvers will make you look lethal to onlookers.
Thank you for leaving your goofs in the video! One of the best ways we learn is by making mistakes, or - to a lesser degree - by watching others make mistakes. We might still repeat those mistakes ourselves (as you did), but we still learn the lesson. So, thank you!
@salvatorelodato7220 its honestly not hard i used to do it with sticks til i got my first saber most of that speed is from the continuous flipping of your hand and as long as you stay focused on what youre doing you wont drop it or hit yourself
Hey Carly, just in case you might be interested, SW Theory is thinking of doing a big lightsaber tournament sometime in the summer of 2025. He said there will be both a fencing style lightsaber tournament and a spinning style tournament to show off your skill. Nick Gillard will be a judge and $50,000 will be given to the winner of the fighting tournament and $20,000 (I think) to the winner of the spinning tournament. I was thinking of people who might be interested and you came to mind first, so I decided to stop by and let you know.
Yeah got a neopixel and immediately set up a playlist of cool lightsaber spins to learn. 5 days of “training” and now I can do yours at least semi-proficiently. Thanks!
I am going to learn this way, but it is kind of similar to a way I already do it, where I spin the staff in front, by a pretty similar hand movement and spin around the back to the front again. It might be hard to tell the difference if we were both spinning at the same time, but the hand movements are a little different.
I got my first lightsaber from Imperial Workshop not even a week ago and now I'm learning to throw spin it, that one spin you taught Tuhqa a couple years ago was the first one I was aiming for, the Atlas V3 is super awesome, I love it.
Just recently found your channel and immediately fell in love with lightsaber spinning. I just purchased my first imperial workshop for my birthday, I'm gonna practice some spins, thank you so much for these videos keep up the good work!!!
thank you for doing videos like this, you are a great teacher. and I'm glad that you left the blade flying out in this video because it shows what can happen. It's good to see that you can joke about your mistakes
Your videos always make me happy. As a martial artist, it's always more fun to practice with a lightsaber. I love that you include the outtakes too. Those blades sometimes have a mind of their own and it's always wild. What would you say is your favorite saber to spin these days?
I'm glad that the goofs were kept in. I was at Washington State Summercon teaching and demonstrating a lightsaber class with another person dressed as Darth Revan and I was Anakin Skywalker (We were limited on characters due to few volunteers). Anyway, during a slow motion performance to show the class what to do, Revan struck my lightsaber and at the hilt, the blade snapped off. It was a surprise to all of us because of how durable the blades were supposed to be. Without missing a beat, my buddy Revan simply said, "You are no match against me." I was about to break character because everyone in the class was a mix of shock but laughter started to spread among them. Instead, I responded, "Not again, Obi-Wan is going to kill me." Seeing the bloopers in this video took me back to those days when in front of an entire class, it was very embarrassing but entertaining. Afterwards, I had to excuse myself to go get a spare lightsaber blade. 🤣🤣🤣
definitely my favorite move to do and one of my first I ever learned a long time ago because of Darth Maul, however my version is a bit modified.. I will need to try out yours! Great tutorial video!
Great tutorial as always, you really make things so easy to follow i really appreciate your breakdowns. I think the biggest takeaway i got from though is to always keep an allen key on hand lol.
These tutorials help so much and are always so fun to watch thanks for the tips and tutorial Edit: you should do a tutorial for some reverse grip (backwards lightsaber) tricks / spins
Carly I think I want to learn about this the around the world but sometimes I hit my head by accident it kind hurt lil bit but I want to keep trying and never give up
Hey Carly!! Another outstanding tutorial as usual! I was literally practicing with my double bladed last night and wished you would bring out another tutorial!😂 must have been the will of the force!!
Hiiiiiiiii Carly!!! 👋 😄 sweeeet moves, nice tutorial on a double bladed saber!! I need 2 get a cheap dbl bladed lightsaber 2 practice with, I don't wana damage my Darth Maul saber!! 😅👍
Hey Carly I love your lightsaber videos,it shocked me too that the blade came out because that has happened to me once or twice. A tutorial I’ll like to learn is some of Ahsoka’s clone war and her own tv show moves if that’s alright. Especially clone wars season seven were she fights maul I tried practicing and didn’t go so well…and I tried where she fights Marrok in live action.
Carly , you are so funny i love your video's the look on your face is priceless , no matter what you are a great JEDI keep spinning bring with you an allen rench so you can tighten the saber be safe and remember may the force be with you always .....
You discovered a new force power: throw the light but retaining the saber hilt 😄 Your expertise is incredible and admirable thank you for the tutorial! 😊
Hello there Miss King. Do you think you could make a lightsaber tutorial of that move that Ray Park showed you. Your tutorials are really helpful and easy to understand. no pressure at all but it would be really appreciated 😊
Love the Dauntless... Got mine after seeing your review a while back... It's so heavy, though... at least compared to my other lightsaber staff and definitely my bo staff. I'm always scared of tossing the thing, too. That finish is so clean. I only wish imperial workshop had a quick release coupler, that would make it super cool to be able to switch to double blade on the fly. Anyway, nice spin... I do mine slightly differently, but I might try / learn it that way for comparison.
I do this spin all the time but I find every time I do it I find that I grip insanely tight. At first it’s loose but it gets tighter as I go on spinning. Thanks Carley for the tip!
“Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.” Muscle memory. In all things. That’s a common phrase in the gun world, especially when talking about drawing to fire. The sam goes for the spin moves. You have to know how to do it slowly before being able to go faster.
Shooting your Light Saber at the enemy is for emergencies only xD That was an awesome blooper and you took it so well, unless the camera person was the one who actually got Jedi'd~

"This weapon is your life!"
*blade flies off*
Love how you show the blade fails. You handle it well, but it shows how much energy your generating when spinning those things.
My dad taught me ... if you can't do it slow, you can't do it at all! and that has resonated with me all my life.
Thank you for leaving your goofs in the video! One of the best ways we learn is by making mistakes, or - to a lesser degree - by watching others make mistakes. We might still repeat those mistakes ourselves (as you did), but we still learn the lesson.
So, thank you!
Another flying blade another great tutorial thank you Carly👍
hahaha thank you!
Those spins are so fast that can reflect at least 15+ blaster shots :0 she really deserve that panel at swc’25

Gotta love you kept the incident at 5:50 in. Sometimes "oopses" can be fun! Appreciate the reminder to keep the screws tight. lol
Love these videos. I want to learn all the moves.

YESSS ANOTHER UPLOAD LETS GOOOO. I DONT HAVE A DOUBLE BLADED SABER BUT THIS IS COOL
Great tutorial as always, you really make things so easy to follow i really appreciate your breakdowns. I think the biggest takeaway i got from though is to always keep an allen key on hand lol.
Love these tutorials. More please. Especially on how to combine different spins into a single flow.
Impressive indeed Master Carly. The force is with you.......
These tutorials help so much
and are always so fun to watch thanks for the tips and tutorial
Edit: you should do a tutorial for some reverse grip (backwards lightsaber) tricks / spins
Thanks for the video. You are so funny, keep it up 👍
Great video! I would love to learn the Hayden signature behind the back spin please

That looks so cool, I'm going to have to get myself a double bladed lightsaber so I can try this technique. ❤
My Darth Maul lightsaber arrived earlier this month. I'm ready to learn
Hiiiiiiiii Carly!!! 👋 😄 sweeeet moves, nice tutorial on a double bladed saber!! I need 2 get a cheap dbl bladed lightsaber 2 practice with, I don't wana damage my Darth Maul saber!! 😅👍
I'm really glad I watched the whole thing! hahaha!

Can you teach us the grievous spin next😍😍?? 😄
Very awesome tutorial definitely gonna have to try it!!
I LOVE doing this move! Also is this location Lah'mu from Rogue One? Another name for it is the "butterfly spin" because it kinda looks like one
I’ve been trying to do this spin for so long so I’m so glad your making a tutorial Carly😁🙏
This is why, she is the queen of starwars. 👑🙌🙌💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Thank you so much!

You are explaining so well! Nice video!
A true pro with that saber!
Carly , you are so funny i love your video's the look on your face is priceless , no matter what you are a great JEDI keep spinning bring with you an allen rench so you can tighten the saber be safe and remember may the force be with you always .....
I also wanted to ask if you know if there will be a may the fourth sale at imperial workshop? I figured there may not be but i just wanted to ask
5:52 just like in the obi ani practice video
Carly, you are my hero!
Will it seriously damage the lights on the inside of the blade if it flies out like that and hits something?
Girl you are awesome💞🥰
Why aren't you wearing your merch??
I should’ve!! my sweater is in the dirty pile because I wear it so much
@@carlyking that's a very valid excuse 😉
May The Force be with US!
1:08 can anyone tell me how she is doing fast??😮
Thanks for your teachings. Master Carly 🤩
i highly recommend applying some Loctite to the threads on those screws! its similar to glue, it prevents the screws from backing out over time
You discovered a new force power: throw the light but retaining the saber hilt 😄
Your expertise is incredible and admirable thank you for the tutorial! 😊
love the video!!!
Thank you!!
Darth Maul lost one of his blades too, so you should have just played it off like it was planned that way! 🤘
The Saber tho! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Making this look easy I would’ve thrown the saber multiple times trying this 🤣
Whoa absolutely beautiful wow
Have a wonderful day 🌹😊🖤🖤💓💓💓😍may the force be with you.
Thanks Carly! Still terrible but learning 😂
Man that Martial Arts spinning at the dojo was stylish! I think I have a crush on you! 😳
legendary ending
🤣 thank you hahaha
Well done young lady!
10 out of 10
Awesome and looking gorgeous
5:52 Well this gave me a nice flashback to your obi-ani video 🤣
Yave you tried putting loctite on your screws so they don't loosen up?
Shooting your Light Saber at the enemy is for emergencies only xD That was an awesome blooper and you took it so well, unless the camera person was the one who actually got Jedi'd~
Still waiting on you to do a video of the Galaxy Edge Yoda lightsaber and the neopixel one. PLEASE 🙏🏻
You should have added in a Wilhelm scream when the blade went off screen.
Blade said weeeeee😂
Greetings from Bolivia, very cool with two rgb sabers
LMAO at that look on your face when the blade went flying
Thank you for the great job🤩🔝😎
Im trying to learn the two handed style rn, could you do a spins tutorial please?
"You're so... beautiful."
ANAKIN'S WORDS NOT MINE
I love my dauntless hilt, more of a 32 inch blade fan rather than 36 though
they should call that lightsaber the Darth Maul signature model.
Hi, great Video, what size blades do you have?
