Bruce wanted to be punished for murdering the Joker. He wanted to show that no one is above the law, even Batman. It's honestly the best thing for Bruce to do, as it not only shows citizens he lives by the code he enforces, but it was a way for Bruce to keep that dark side in check, ensuring he doesn't begin killing every time he takes down a violent criminal.
If I tried to play devils advocate here for Batman, I’d say Batman knows Superman was on the brink of losing it at this time, and having the Joker say he’d do that, Batman knows the Joker is kids play compared to what evil Superman is capable of. So in that sense, Batman was nipping it in the bud and ultimately saving Earth from Superman. Basically the Trolley Dilemma.
I love how bruce gives up everything just to stop clark from going down a voilent path He knows clark will kill joker so bstman breaks his code and does it himself, giving up his life, his freedom, and his morality, just to protect clark from doing the same
Those who skim the law to enforce it are to be held to a higher standard. It's one of the reasons WHY BatMan didnt kill. This time, after decades of the Joker being a menace and Bats not putting him down, an act so pivotal came about where BatMan HAD to kill his nemesis, so that Super Man, the big blue boy scout, the God who has a human soul, would not fall victim to what Joker thrives off be it in life or death.. corrupting with chaos. Bats as a result chose to go to prison, as he had a sense of order to his vigilantism.. but this is an alternate time line of an alternate timeline.. and Bats didn't kill Joker.. Supes did.. and it changes him to be everything he and the JL ever fought against. Tyrannical Dictatorship.
@@johndarcangelo6893 Neither Bat Man nor Super Man are run of the mill cops. Bat Man is one of, if not THE best self taught detective in the DC universe, and Clark is an Alien who as said is God Like. Both of them have placed high expectations on themselves, and they should.. that's what makes them the good guys.
To be fair, if Supes became like Jason or worse... Well, Supes could do far more damage. Plus, Batman probably just learned from that mistake as well, and decided to act preemptively this time.

Lmao even if he weren't batman, come on. Bruce is a billionare. The only reason he would stay in prison is because he himself feels he deserves to be there. Even if he weren't batman or a super billionare, any sane jury would be happy to give him the 'not guilty' verdict for killing the goddamn joker.
It should have went.. The police: so Mr. Wayne you saw the joker slipping on those stairs, cracking his neck, and then rolled inside the batmobile, right ? *wink* *wink*
@@MrDublem of all places to complain about police corruption you chose, a Batman comic where clear lunatics that kill hundreds constantly escape prison or the asylum. LMAO 🤣 So many of the villains would have already got the death sentence.
The most unrealistic part of this entire story is that Bruce Wayne, arguably the single wealthiest individual in his entire world, would be put in the same blue-collar prison that the thugs he catches go to.
I’d like to think Bruce is both fighting his inner demons over killing Joker, and making sure criminals know that he’s not above the law when it comes to taking a life. Likely, several of the other convicts would side with the Bat over the others who felt wronged. By spending time in lock up, Bruce would likely have a new appreciation for what the victims of a broken system must suffer and choose grass roots projects over just a cape and cowl. Striking with fear from the shadows made sense as a child. Knowing where the people who cause pain have come from, maybe he can now offer hope in the light. A new Batman, one that builds up his city rather than just fighting the bad guys.
I love the idea of Bruce, while technically the defendant, would be playing the role of prosecutor while the prosecution does the opposite. Like a scoring in your own goal type of deal
this Batman is why Prime Batman's no-kill rule is such bullcrap, this Batman realized that the Joker's madness wouldn't stop until he was dead, but he didn't want Clark to do it, to bloody that shining symbol of hope, so he hauled Joker off as usual and once he was out of sight of Clark and the others . . . *snap,* no more Joker, and, in stark contrast to Prime's reasoning for the no-kill rule where he was afraid that killing Joker would be the start of a slippery slope, this Batman turned himself in, hero or not he decided he must be held accountable for taking a life, even one as deranged as the Joker
Batman’s character has evolved into something far removed from his original purpose. The clear distinction between hero and villain has been blurred, with modern interpretations increasingly glorifying villains while undermining the hero’s moral code. Earlier Batman stories portrayed him as an incorruptible force for good, someone who stopped villains before they could truly harm anyone. His rogues' gallery existed as foils to Batman's unwavering sense of justice, with his “no-kill” rule making sense in a world where he actually prevented crime. However, as the villains became darker and more violent, Batman’s refusal to kill them started to feel less heroic and more naive. Modern stories have transformed him into a character who allows mass murderers to live, knowing full well they will escape and kill again. Additionally, Batman has been overpowered to absurd levels just to keep up with characters like Superman, making him less relatable and more of a superhuman with endless gadgets. The result? Batman has drifted from being a symbol of incorruptible justice to someone upholding a broken system. His villains now seem more like victims of a corrupt society than the pure embodiments of evil they once were. In trying to make Batman “dark,” modern storytelling has lost the core of who he was - a hero who stood for good, despite the tragedies that shaped him.
That's a lot of words to say you think you should be allowed to kill people just because you think they really deserve it. Guess where that attitude gets you? (Hint: it's not into the adoring hearts of a thankful society) (Spoiler: it's in jail, where you belong) (Double spoiler: that's literally the whole point of this comic)
The no-kill rule is perfectly fine. The problem is that writers want Batman to lack the ability to distinguish. Some people refuse to change from their horrible choices, and others will change given enough time, and patience. Obviously, this is all fiction, so characters like Joker are not going to change. The Joker needs to be dealt with, in some way. Locked up forever, or executed by the justice system. And if the law isn't going to do it, the Justice League needs to lobby the law to do so. This allows the league to continue being the individuals who catch the criminals, not taking the law into their own hands.
Probably the smartest thing Batman ever did, because lets be real here: someone like Joker is too far gone and there is no hope of him ever being a better person
its more than that, im just pretty sure bats isn't saying everything, I don't think its that he did it JUST because joker would try again to take everything away from clark or even necessarily that he might try and destroy a city, i think it was that bruce KNEW the consequences of if superman was pushed far enough to kill someone and the consequences it would mean for the world, I don't think he did it just out of emotionalness and protecting people from the joker, I think he weighed his values and morales against the safety of the world from a superman pushed too far, I think it was a calculating decision, and that's the difference between killing the joker for jason, jason didn't have the power to burn the world out of rage and revenge and batman wouldn't kill for something like revenge
@@seth181 Fam, Wholeheartedly, I get your point, yeah it makes sense BUT THATS HIS ADOPTED SONNN??? Plus joker has the power to terrorise the world which he did on multiple occasions so it wouldn't make sense to why Bruce didn't kill him then, could've saved so many others
@@zebafathima5869You didn’t read the original comic then did you. After Jason’s death the joker left gotham in fear of Batman. Batman went out fully intending to kill the joker but was stopped by Superman and the fact that the joker became the Iranian ambassador. At the end of the comic Batman and joker fight in a falling helicopter and Batman jumps leaving joker to fall to his supposed death, but comics being comics joker survived.
If this had been 1% more realistic, Batman would have been acquired, given the key to the city, and the President would have a pardon ready to sign should the jury hadn't.
That's because you don't understand his actual point. It's not "I don't kill my enemies because it's wrong" it's "I don't kill my enemies because everyone can be redeemed and who I am to play judge, jury, and executioner. I will stop evil when I can and let the people decide what to do with it." The real crux of the problem for Bruce is if he accepts not everyone can be redeemed then he is accepting he can't be redeemed. That he will forever be hateful for that night. Not killing gives villains hope to change, people hope to do right, and himself hope he can come back from that night.
@brandonjohnston1650 I mean Joker drugged a man to brutally kill his wife and in doing so nuked a city. Death is the least Joker deserves, this is also an actual terrorist attack.
@@stevengull6703 everyone can be redeemed, yes, but not everyone can be redeemed by Batman or Superman. This level of redemption is not within their scope of abilities, great as they are. I prefer to take a tolkienistic approach to some characters and some people. By this I mean, For Example, Tolkien held that the orcs are pure evil, yes, but as you say still they’re not beyond redemption. Only, the catch is-the redemption of the orcs is a feat that no elf or man is capable of. Nor could any Maia nor even any of the Valar. Melkor corrupted the orcs at a time when his power was so great that he was second only to Eru. It would require an equivalent or greater level of power to undo this corruption-no one but Eru has this amount of power. As such, even though it’s possible for the orcs to be redeemed, achieving that redemption is a task that’s simply impossible for any elf or man. *As a result, they’re faced with pure evil orcs and no way to fix them or redeem them. Their only option is to kill them.* *The joker is such a creature-he is evil to the point that it’s beyond batman, beyond Superman, beyond maybe *anyone* but the highest tier reality warmers to fix him (even they can’t fix him cause the writers won’t allow them to even try). *The only feasible option to deal with this kind of evil that is, for all intents and purposes, incurable, is to kill it.* Preferably with fire, or something else that’s permanent

Bruce: I killed the Joker

Bruce: *buys the prison so he can go to jail

Kills a murderer and evil person who’s killed many people. Gets arrested for it.
At least he gets out later on 😅
Turns himself in for it. The jury put him in prison.

Literally Injustice: Good Ending
I’m pretty sure the most judges on the planet would only give Bruce like a week in prison
This is not a cannon, this is in the Injustice series and is in a dream Superman had when he was put in a coma that was meant to bring him happiness.
I love how bruce gives up everything just to stop clark from going down a voilent path
He knows clark will kill joker so bstman breaks his code and does it himself, giving up his life, his freedom, and his morality, just to protect clark from doing the same
Bro said hol up🫷🏼I’ll save you the time and give him the ole yeller myself 😂

How did Louis survive a trip to space and return to the earth without a single scratch?

People really out here acting like anyone would go to prison for killing the joker
The dumbest part of this is that they put Batman in prison for killing the Joker, like c'mon.
Lmfao
This is right bro like they do not remember all the crimes joker be doing
@silencedogood8800 there isn't a cop alive that doesn't "skim the law"
@@johndarcangelo6893 Neither Bat Man nor Super Man are run of the mill cops. I like the fact that Bruce loves Clark. That’s his friend
Batman a real one for that. He threw his code to the side cause he knew Clark keeping his humanity was more important than for him❤

Weird to me that there's any DA in Gotham who would look at Batman and say "you killed the Joker? How dare you. You deserve to go to prison."
So wait, Batman will kill for Supes but not for Jason? Okay.
To be fair, if Supes became like Jason or worse... Well, Supes could do far more damage. Plus, Batman probably just learned from that mistake as well, and decided to act preemptively this time.
There's a reason Injustice timeline is because of what Supes does, not Jason. 😂
Finally the real Batman who is willing to do what it takes to do what's right
That cop at the end has some balls pointing a gun at him

This just Highlights how Bruce has the highest mental fortitude.
Lmao even if he weren't batman, come on. Bruce is a billionare. The only reason he would stay in prison is because he himself feels he deserves to be there.
Even if he weren't batman or a super billionare, any sane jury would be happy to give him the 'not guilty' verdict for killing the goddamn joker.
you know joker did something that pass the line when batman *kill*
It should have went..
The police: so Mr. Wayne you saw the joker slipping on those stairs, cracking his neck, and then rolled inside the batmobile, right ? *wink* *wink*

Meanwhile the court

Honestly, batman killing the joker, then locking himself up for it seems like a good way to have him end the threat, but keep his morals consistent.

Meanwhile, all the Gotham citizens who lost their children after Joker's 2nd, 3rd... 619th terrorist attack: 😡

@@nicholashernandez4611 "I've changed my life for the better"ahh comment 🤦🏾♂️
Cops pulled the gun out like they had kryptonite bullets😂
"So Bruce how you got out of prison!"
Bruce: "I bought the Prison!"😅
So bruce how did you get into prison? Bruce "I bought the prison."

(Hint: it's not into the adoring hearts of a thankful society)
(Spoiler: it's in jail, where you belong)
(Double spoiler: that's literally the whole point of this comic)

@@MrDublem Dunno wtf you're talkin about. Guess you don't know how to read.
The fact that this dumbass killer joker for this (good reason) BUT LET HIM LIVE WHEN JASON WAS TORTURED AND KILLED!?
Killed*
its more than that, im just pretty sure bats isn't saying everything, I don't think its that he did it JUST because joker would try again to take everything away from clark or even necessarily that he might try and destroy a city, i think it was that bruce KNEW the consequences of if superman was pushed far enough to kill someone and the consequences it would mean for the world, I don't think he did it just out of emotionalness and protecting people from the joker, I think he weighed his values and morales against the safety of the world from a superman pushed too far, I think it was a calculating decision, and that's the difference between killing the joker for jason, jason didn't have the power to burn the world out of rage and revenge and batman wouldn't kill for something like revenge
Maaaan, that's a hellava point you got there 😂😂
@@seth181 Fam, Wholeheartedly, I get your point, yeah it makes sense BUT THATS HIS ADOPTED SONNN???
This whole “i don’t kill my enemies cause it’s wrong”
Feels hella meh and cowardly In today’s time. Batman should have a rework or something
He has morals. You should never kill until it becomes absolutely necessary. Otherwise you’re no better than the guys you call evil.
Their only option is to kill them.*
*The joker is such a creature-he is evil to the point that it’s beyond batman, beyond Superman, beyond maybe *anyone* but the highest tier reality warmers to fix him (even they can’t fix him cause the writers won’t allow them to even try). *The only feasible option to deal with this kind of evil that is, for all intents and purposes, incurable, is to kill it.* Preferably with fire, or something else that’s permanent
@@stevengull6703 soooo after everything he still thinks joker can be redeemed? Every time the Batman villains do hideous stuff and he never crosses the line for him when he’s clearly an exception to that rule
