Am I the only one who aplauzed along with the video at the end? And how did your hamsters were so good at this? I remember when my hamster was alive I tried to make one of these, but with miniature horse obstacles...it was a HUGE failure he would just stay in the middle of the room, staring at me and cleaning his face with his lil paws...

Maybe try using treats, my hamster follows the treat I’m tempting her with but at some point will she stop since she doesn’t like exercising a lot

It makes me happy to see happy hamsters.. My hamster died today.. She died in my hands twitching and moving.. We buried her. We loved to do stuff like this.. We used to play a game where I hid a treat, then she found it.

+Spartan's Tricks I used to have a rat than I tried to teach agility to - his favourite trick was to knock over the obstacle, steal the treats and scamper up the wall to his favourite just-out-of-reach spot. I finally gave up training when it was apparent that he was smarter than me.

I have 3 hamsters, I think Cinderella will do very well in this, she's very fast & smart. Beauty is fast too & Snow White is smart but very lazy. 💕

+Wolves211 Yeah 😊 I named them after 3 Disney Princess since I was planning to take care of more hamsters & name them after all 11 Disney Princesses. Since our daughter is too old now & we only have a son left at home, We treat the hamsters like our non human daughters. 💕

My students where enthralled by this video which I used for an ESL lesson on "I can____".
I am wondering if you made the obstacles yourself or if you purchased them. I am a new hamster momma and I am trying everything to enrich and enthrall my little girl. I feel like a bit of a failure because mostly she just wants to lounge around her dens and nesting areas. I would love to try some more exercise toys like this. Any shopping or creation tips? Thank you so much.
Hi Stephanie, I made the playground and obstacles myself. I have searched all the pet stores and online for new and interesting things for my girls, but there really isn't a lot out there. When making your own toys safety is your first priority. If your hamster is not a chewer you can use popsicle sticks and dowels. If she is a big chewer then do some research online for hamster safe wood or use chew sticks from the pet store. I always supervise my girls when they are playing with toys I made. Be aware that when items say "non-toxic" it doesn't mean that they are safe to consume.

AprilsAnimals Thank you so much for the tips. Right now I don't have much to work with or much space so mostly cardboard boxes are my supplies, but I think we have a fun time together and get good exercise.
