I know hamsters in traditional cages often suffer from stress and boredom, but with all the things you put in there for him to play with and explore, I'm sure he'll be really happy. And most of it looks handmade too. I love that amount of commitment for a pet most people wouldn't spend more than $30 on. It really shows that you love them.
@@sen3599 I don't know much about mice, but I think this type of enclosure should be good as long as you have lots of vertical space with lots of things to climb on. Also, mice live well and happy if they have a partner or two. Unlike hamsters, they are very social animals!
LovelyRenn i heard from multiple websites that mice (if u have a pair of them) wouldn’t really like a space that big, because they’d be kinda stressed. It said their cage should be smaller than this one, about 400 sq inch. Is this true? Haha

Ooh! I never would've thought to make a naturalistic vivarium for a mammal, but it makes perfect sense to do so! Adding a false bottom/drainage layer will help keep humidity stable and keep the substrate from molding. Also, if you add springtails and isopods to the setup, it'll help keep the enclosure clean and help clean up the hamster poop! Live plants are great for keeping ammonia out of the substrate.

I'm seeing comments that say you don't really have to clean this kind of enclosure, cos there'll be micro-organisms doing that work, is that really for real?
I know this comment is old but no, I doubt it. People assume because its dirt, it's natural and that means you dont have to clean it. That's false. Its literally just dirt, it has to be cleaned like any other bedding. There aren't microorganisms in that dirt that just make hamster waste disappear.

Also Erin: *covers it with everything possible on Earth* xD
(I know that this is better to use as much space as possible than showing the background of the cage but it makes me laugh x3)
You have done an amazing job on his/Her cage and I really enjoyed his/her outings in it. I bet you have the happiest hamster in the world cause he/she don’t have to worry about any predators. I love your videos, the best I’ve ever seen.
Idk why but I always seem to just come back to this video
Is it me or are videos about making a fancy shmancy pet homes, SOOO satisfying
Most relaxing hamster video ever
Your hamster's place looks better than my whole apartment.
Wow a hamester heaven
May you do more cage videos like this? It litually helped my anxiety calm down lol. There was not too much loud noises and no talking. Just satisfaction right here. 😄 Obviously I still love it when u talk in some.
I have an important question! Do you think my hamster would be stressed if I changed from Care Fresh bedding, to soil, and natural esk theme? I really wanted to do a cage theme like this, but he has lived in CareFresh bedding his whole life. Thanks! 😁
Hey Erin!
How often you need to clean this cage? Is required changing everything in one 'round' ?
Greetings from Poland
People:that's so beautiful
Hamster:*HEAVEN*
You should totally dude more of these nice calming videos! I really enjoyed it, and nitrogen is so cute!!
You said dude not do 😂😂😂
“Pebbles to discourage X” is the new meme i need in my life
this was the most satisfying thing i’ve ever seen
Your so amazing!! Your by far my favourite TH-camr ❤️ you have helped me with so much over the years ❤️❤️
The new enclosure looks great and the new hammy is adorable. I can't wait to see more of Nitrogen.
I'm seeing comments that say you don't really have to clean this kind of enclosure, cos there'll be micro-organisms doing that work, is that really for real?
Cookie Climax I don’t know for sure but I would assume it’s along the lines of “making” manure or composting? 🤷🏻♀️
I know this comment is old but no, I doubt it. People assume because its dirt, it's natural and that means you dont have to clean it. That's false. Its literally just dirt, it has to be cleaned like any other bedding. There aren't microorganisms in that dirt that just make hamster waste disappear.
she should start making a video one month after the hamster used this cage...i need to see the real condition
All I can say is, "Wow!!!!" All this for a hamster!? Wow! You must really love your little pet! The cleaning of this setup would discourage me! Overall very impressive! Thank you for sharing!
i could watch 2 hours of this! her setting up cages ☺️
Anyone else feel satisfied when she was sifting the sand? ówò
Amazing!!!! 10/10 hamsters would love to live here🍾💖🐹
Ugh, please fly over from Cyprus and come hammy shopping with me.
is it just me or when she cuts the bag its super satisfying
No matter what substrate I use, i always put white kitchen roll in the sleeping compartment for extra cosyness. My ham loves it.
This was really neat to watch- I don't even have a hamster 😂💕
In the jungle,
The quiet jungle,
The hamster lives to night
how do you go about cleaning the areas where the hamster is weeing and pooping?
Don't worry bout cleaning poopies and weewee bcs the soil will do it🤣
poppinreds that’s actually kinda smart
It was soo weird and relaxing to watch a youtube video without a background music and I loved it
This is amazing! I would love to see something like this for Degus.
