Being new to Farming SImulator and hearing so much about the Millennial Farmer channel, I decided to start watching from what I assume was the beginning days. Extremely interesting stuff. I look forward to seeing the progression over the years (i've got a lot of catching up to do).
I’m laying in bed right now and the random thoughts are crazy. This was the first video I’m seen from the Actor that plays the Millenial farmer on TH-cam and I’ve been watching ever since. Amazing content
cool to see the improvements you have made over time with editing and video material. props to you sir. love your videos. very informative and fun to watch!
I am not a farmer but I do have farmers in my family and I own 200 acres 100 woods and 100 field. I lease the field and the farmer grows hay. I'm a retired cop and travel as much as possible in my RV. Locally there are several farms the biggest being about 17,000 acres hear in Warren county Ohio. I enjoy the videos.
This is so interesting. I have watched corn seed being planted and now harvested. My next trip is to the grain elevator to see how it is purchased for processing. A real cool vid and I will return for more. My wish list at 68 is to visit a farm that is at work. I know I would like it a lot different than the school field trip 55 years ago.
Was looking for farming simulator videos and found this channel. Love watching these vids and learning so much more about farming. Wish I could use the monitors in my simulated tractors like you do in your real one.
great video sire I live in Toronto but grew up on a farm in the 40's 50's but love looking at all the new stuff out there and enjoy it all thanks for your video. and have subscribed too.
I can see the cobb falling off, but they are individual bits going into the chaser bin. where do whole corn on the cobbs come from or do you use a different header or species for them?
HI THERE! CAN YOU PLEASE POST A VIDEO AND EXPLAIN THE CORN QUALITY AT THE POINT WHERE IT GOES INTO THE HOPPER. IS IT WET? IS IT DRY? IS THE THE POP CORN WE EAT AT MOVIES? HOW DOES IT TAKE IT OFF THE COBB WITH OUT DAMAGING IT? WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP FOR THE CORN THAT YOUR HARVESTED?
I am sure someone has thought of this but why don't you drop a pin on your map where your drain tile uprights are like you do rocks when you see them when you are doing tillage? Asking for a friend LOL. I will get all your videos watched some day soon with the cold weather approaching.
I see you have a lot of cobs in the grain tank. Concave set to tight. Also is see the moisture is 19-20 percent. When you dry that corn down to 15 percent there will be some shrink. That will reduce your yield.
Myron Parks We have been adjusting the concave but that's not the issue. The cobs are brittle this year and it's hard to keep the tank sample clean without leave 3-4 bushels on the ground behind us. The 2630 also already adjusts the shrink into the displayed yield.
I was wondering If you had considered running one large combine with maybe a 16 row head Instead of the two. Also wondered If you would ever consider a Claas combine? Thanks I really enjoy you're videos!!
Brandon Hickman We only run 2 combines for soybeans. When we harvest corn we only have enough trucks and a large enough grain dryer to keep up with an 8 row header! We have considered getting a 12 row header, but haven't yet.
Brandon Hickman As far as the Claas goes, I would never rule any specific brand out, but finding service for them in our area is tougher. The service we get from the local Deere dealer has been great.
Brad Noe Honestly we traded combines this year, it was in there when we bought it and I never asked anyone about it! We ran a Maurer extension on our other machine and never had the extra auger so I'm not sure...
James McKay there's still a few old timers in the area who have the accent. It would maybe be with my family if not for an early death/remarry/relocate situation.
Loveing the channel just recently found your channel on here some really great types on seed drilling. Not only that some fantastic bits of farming kit John deer’s all the way and love the pickup and big rigs in some of your other videos . Are you from Canada 🇨🇦
Kris Cipywnyk It's an after market auger that they claim makes it easier on the fighting in the tank auger. We have never had it on a machine until this one. We bought it used and it came with it. We are thinking we might take it out because it will hit the top of the shop door if we forget to fold it up, and eventually we will!!
Matt Grover You must be further south where a lot of guys have custom harvesters do their combining? In that case you should try to get hooked up with a custom harvest crew somehow. Nobody will put you in a combine right away but after you're around for a while and you prove yourself they might.
I don’t know why you complain about not having enough time to put these videos together you have auto steer and all that free time going back and forth lol Thanx from slightly warmer Kalifornia although we have 150% of normal snow/water from the left coast near the Krapitol of California
How in the h#ll does the mashine seperate the corn from the corncob? I have always wondered... It like corncob comes in, magic happen and corn comes out hahaha...
It'll run an 8 row all day long and the auger on the combine probably won't reach the center of the grain cart if there was a 12 row on it. That's why we have always rand 6 and 8 row heads
Have you ever tried playing farming sim, I know, it's kinda dumb to talk about farming games on a real life farming channel but it's just fascinating to see how realistic it is!!
Sent you a facebook message I'd like some pictures of the John Deere 2700 ripper, and how it works in the corn stubble. We chop stalks and want to get away from doing that thanks great video.
Tate Bardall Yes, in our area we feel it's really important to get the crop planted as early as possible (while still hopefully avoiding a freeze) but as of now our grain dryer can only keep up with an 8 row head anyway... a 12 row head will likely be one of n our next upgrades.
Why do you use auto steer? I just go and drive, i just go until the field is done, I purposely missed a day of school because I was combining in my S680 so I didn't have to deal with my bullies
I spy cab corn falling down during the unload at the begining of the video

I'm doing the same. Although I keep hearing about FarmSim in the comments here. May need to check that out haha.
I play it
I’m laying in bed right now and the random thoughts are crazy. This was the first video I’m seen from the Actor that plays the Millenial farmer on TH-cam and I’ve been watching ever since. Amazing content
My 5 year old son loves your videos. He loves all things tractor. We are in County Cork in Ireland.
Thanks for giving a great description of how the combine works
cool to see the improvements you have made over time with editing and video material. props to you sir. love your videos. very informative and fun to watch!
Great video as always! You make the most knowledgeable farm videos I've ever seen. Nice operation
Back in the day with the 8 row head and the 8260 pulling the 1348

Brian Hubbard You're one county over from me then. I'm down in Clermont.
Yes. are you a farmer or police officer, or do you have a better smarter job.
I'm from Ohio too and i work on a farm in Wayne county.
You did a great job explaining what was going on with the harvest
This is the best farming video I’ve seen so far thank you so much just shared!!

love your vidoes so much im going all the way back to watch from te beginning awesome videos zac
I had no idea farming was so computerized, awesome video.
You remind me of my dad that spends his time in the field and combine 24/7
my cousins grandpa is a farmer and it’s amazing to see how big the carts are compared to the tractors
Grew up on the biggest farm in Isanti County, MN in the 1960s. I miss working in the fields.
We find it ALL interesting, so you can basically Film ANYTHING...!! ✅
Amazing how far you’ve come
HELLO FROM TEXAS. LOT OF GREAT CORN BE SAFE GOD BLESS. THE HARVESTING
great video sire I live in Toronto but grew up on a farm in the 40's 50's but love looking at all the new stuff out there and enjoy it all thanks for your video. and have subscribed too.
I love your videos. Keep making them.
I can see the cobb falling off, but they are individual bits going into the chaser bin. where do whole corn on the cobbs come from or do you use a different header or species for them?
Here in central eastern Iowa we are getting an avg of 236 bushels per acre
I just finished soybeans today and I am going to stat corn by the end of this week hopefully
Great Video ! keep up this good work !
Aramet Thank you!

This is so cool. I’ve always wondered what’s behind corn
I am sure someone has thought of this but why don't you drop a pin on your map where your drain tile uprights are like you do rocks when you see them when you are doing tillage? Asking for a friend LOL. I will get all your videos watched some day soon with the cold weather approaching.
I thought y’all made more bushels per acre than that but y’all don’t have to put much fertilizer or nitrogen do you?
nice to see what happens elsewhere in the world. Is corn and soy the only crops in your rotation or do you have wheat or barley in the mix as well?
Davobeff We have grown just corn and soy for several years. Wheat is not profitable in our area so there is not much of it anymore.
Are both of y'all's corn heads the same width? How many rows are they?
Getting some drone shots of harvesting would look great!
Jake Finnegan Stay tuned!! I have the video, just waiting until I get some time to sit down and learn how to edit it!

What model combine and header are you guys running? Great video
Eric Van Nes 9870 with a 608C header
So u have a stock cutter head and a big extended storage on combine
I drive a 9870 too on our farm. We also have a 9760. How can your combine harvest at that speed?!
Looks like great corn. The tank filled up behind you really quick. How many acres did you plant?
Justlooking About 1,100
How much full time help do you have?
Justlooking Just Dad and I full time. We have a few other guys who help a lot during harvest, planting, and when we need truck drivers.
Is that a John Deere 7r
Why do you run a vertical auger in the grain tank we run a mauer bin extension and don't run one does it pill better or?
Brad Noe Honestly we traded combines this year, it was in there when we bought it and I never asked anyone about it! We ran a Maurer extension on our other machine and never had the extra auger so I'm not sure...
Zack,, How long did the Swedish language persist in your family and area. Jim
James McKay there's still a few old timers in the area who have the accent. It would maybe be with my family if not for an early death/remarry/relocate situation.
Good job. Great to get it out of the field.
Enjoy your videos !
Great video! How do you drive this harvester?
Gabrierl Mendez with the steering wheel
MrFFerigS lol no shit
How deep do you run your ripper and what kind of shanks do you use?
Kyle Price Roughly 5" and we use the 10" JD points
2:48 - does that arm have to be cleaned with as strict conditions as food processing plants?
No, nothing is 'Food Grade' clean.
It’s either going to be priced into food or turning into ( my favorite ) deer corn
that's nice to see you got the row sense and you like it. it even works on the ends! is that a 2730 ripper?
Anderson Farms 2700
Very good! Отлично и очень красиво!
U just made a new subscriber
Loveing the channel just recently found your channel on here some really great types on seed drilling. Not only that some fantastic bits of farming kit John deer’s all the way and love the pickup and big rigs in some of your other videos . Are you from Canada 🇨🇦
Stu Smith No, we're in Minnesota
MN Millennial Farmer are ok I will have a look on google etc some really great videos on your channel etc love the American way of farming massive
whats second auger in the middle of the tank for, we have a 9870 and a s680 and i've never seen one of those on a combine before
Kris Cipywnyk It's an after market auger that they claim makes it easier on the fighting in the tank auger. We have never had it on a machine until this one. We bought it used and it came with it. We are thinking we might take it out because it will hit the top of the shop door if we forget to fold it up, and eventually we will!!
You guys need to make more combining and ripping vids
Modern farming at its best.
What is that corn called?
nice video. how would I go about learning how to run a combine and stuff BC I'd love to have a job like that
Matt Grover That's a tough one, I would suggest talking to some local farmers in your area to see if they need any extra help.
Ya I will next spring milk prices are low so no one is hireing but all the farmers contract out the harvest and field work
Matt Grover You must be further south where a lot of guys have custom harvesters do their combining? In that case you should try to get hooked up with a custom harvest crew somehow. Nobody will put you in a combine right away but after you're around for a while and you prove yourself they might.

Watch my video "how a combine works" from about 16 months ago
Greetings. Do you know of any website that has farms milk for sale?
Does this same machine harvest weat too
K K We don't grow any wheat but yes, it is capable of harvesting wheat.
How many acres are does
That is one heck of a machine. The last machine I used was a Gleaner L it is a baby now What combines do you run?Like your videos .
Howard Younger We run a 9870 on the corn and we run the 9870 along with a 9650 on beans
Howard Younger h
Howard Younger o
Haven't seen the JD with tracks in your other videos. Did you trade your 4WD for the Track?
At Midnight We still have the 4wd but the lease was up on the 8335 so now we went with an 8360RT
Thanks. Great videos. I appreciate the hard work all farmers do and enjoy watching the videos
At Midnight Thank you!
Hi ! How have you yield per hectare? I'm from Poland. In here we have 13000kg (28660,09 lb) this year 2016.
Paweł Kędziorski Hello! If I did my math correctly, we are averaging around 27,000-30,000 pounds per hectare!
Every year? Because last year was a drought, I had only 18,000 pounds per hectare.
My English is middle (medium) :P
Paweł Kędziorski Not every year. Our average is about 23,000. This year is very good.
Paweł Kędziorski Ours is all sold by the bushel but if my math is correct again it would be roughly
.06-.07 / pound now.
Any idea of the cost of the harvester machine?
Naba very expensive when they're new! Even when they're used!
Any recommended websites or dealers to check the price out?
Naba fastline.com or Tractor House
how many acres do you own?
Great video!
we are finishing up our corn tommorow then moving to beans on monday
just one question how come u have a 24row corn planter n 8row corn head?
8 rows goes Into 24 3 times so it's perfect and it'll run an 8 row all day long
Nathan Becker but why not just have a 12 row it's be so much easier
It'll run an 8 row all day long and the auger on the combine probably won't reach the center of the grain cart if there was a 12 row on it. That's why we have always rand 6 and 8 row heads
Raylon We will probably go to a 12 row some day but for now our grain dryer can only keep up to an 8 row head anyway!
Have you ever tried playing farming sim, I know, it's kinda dumb to talk about farming games on a real life farming channel but it's just fascinating to see how realistic it is!!
Red hills Blue sky's I have never tried it but I know a lot of people who have!
Dang! Auto steer sounds nice! Wish i had that! lol
Nimacihsinwi ašiihkiwi it's awesome!
What is the price for dry corn at you this year
Marko Pirak It changes every day but lately the local price has been around $2.60-2.75 per bushel
What is the production of corn
Vsjunior sani last year was a record for us-around 200 bushels/acre average. 10 year average is probably around 170
do a farm equipment tour
Are you near Mankato ?
Lukey is Fishing We are roughly 3 hours northwest of Mankato, near Alexandria
MN Millennial Farmer i got some family up just slighlty west of Alexandria. . Nice video by the way i love your channel
why are you taking so much cob?
jake halbersma We seemed to have brittle cobs this year. if we closed the sieves down enough to keep the cob out, we were sending corn out the back.
our cobs are coming put whole this year. it's shells really easy.
great job on the video thanks
here in Nebraska we average 250 bushels per acre
Bobby Livingsworth that would be unbelievable for us!
we also have 24 row heads on our machines now
Good Stuff!
Nice video! Whats your john deere combine series? +1 subs
Qc-jeuneloup- Gaming We have a 9870 and a 9650. No S series yet. Nice machines but they're still too expensive! Thanks for the sub!
MN Millennial Farmer nice! Thank you for replying quickly
Is that GMO corn ?
Petar Conkic Yes it is. The technology has been great for us. We don't need to use any pesticides on our corn, and we use less harmful herbicides.
Love it good video
I like the vid. We dont use our computers. Lol. We are old school...
that’s really cool actually...
Sent you a facebook message I'd like some pictures of the John Deere 2700 ripper, and how it works in the corn stubble. We chop stalks and want to get away from doing that thanks great video.
8 row head 24 row planter?
Tate Bardall Yes, in our area we feel it's really important to get the crop planted as early as possible (while still hopefully avoiding a freeze) but as of now our grain dryer can only keep up with an 8 row head anyway... a 12 row head will likely be one of n our next upgrades.
dang thats some good corn.
Looks like a lot of broken cobs coming in.
bimmerman3 We have been trying to clean those up but whenever we adjust to get them out we end up leaving some on the ground this year.
MN Millennial Farmer Do you think it has more to do with the hybrid?
bimmerman3 No it's consistent with every hybrid this year
MN Millennial Farmer There wasn't much trash going in.
I subscribed
I'm geting one 🆕🌽🌾🚜
Why do you use auto steer? I just go and drive, i just go until the field is done, I purposely missed a day of school because I was combining in my S680 so I didn't have to deal with my bullies
Monsanto have best seeds on Market 👍👍👍👍👍 I have 500 acre of corn for silage from Monsanto every year 😊 Monsanto is best
yea right.
BOHDYYYY mansanto sucks.
Where y'all at I'm from here in nc
G And N Productions We're in west central MN
R u a dairy farmer or u just do crops??
farmingwithmark Just crops. We had beef and hogs 25 years ago but just crops since
this must be a lot of fun!
