For those of you that found your way here, thank you so much for watching. I worked extremely hard on this project because I wanted to do justice to a piece of art that introduced me into a medium that I have grown to even make TH-cam content on now. I really can’t thank you all enough for all the kind words. As an appreciation update, and in hopes that these videos garner more attention, I’m going to be focusing my efforts on providing more Naruto content on this channel. Expect at least a few more Naruto videos from me very soon, and definitely subscribe if you are interested!

I would suggest that you make your thumbnails a bit more flashy to garner more attention. I feel like if you make your videos look more appealing and high quality on the surface, more people will want to click on your videos. Like put some text on your thumbnails for example.

Yeah the Naruto fanbase always do this whenever they hear bad Criticism they go with it without thinking for themselves like people saying kishimoto had said he can’t write females which never happened another thing is people saying the sasuke vs dedira fight is plot armor because sasuke said “he had no charka left” but that never happened

@@Be-Dillon In general whenever people talk about Naruto they call it a series that failed itself and strayed from its original ideas. They'd say it went from being a story about ninjas to being a story about a dude weirdly stalking a childhood friend in a very gay manner and that all the fights are nothing more than throwing nukes at one another.
The fact that these are the most popular opinions saddens me, but seeing that there are still people who look at Naruto for what it truly is makes me happy.

@Sasukeee 😭 It seems that you lack the same thing you preach others should have. Comprehension towards others. You have to understand not everyone thinks the same way and Sasuke is a very difficult character to fully comprehend. Attacking those who do not like Sasuke is not going to help them understand Sasuke's character. Instead try to encourage them to watch or read analysis towards the character when they have the time. Most of the time it's very hard to change people's mind about something. But if you raise a sword towards them, their natural instinct is to raise a shield back to you. And that will lead nowhere.

Hashirama and Hiruzen are failures as Hokages. Their ideal survived and inspired others, but their failures to save others pretty much CAUSED this disaster.
Tsunade is an interesting middle ground, she failed at everything she tried. Besides it is TELLING that her first act is in fact HEALING. She heals Lee. Tsunade is a healer, she will heal, but the rest is on you.

I just thought of this. Sasuke changing his squad's name from Hebi to Taka makes sense to me now. Hebi means Snake in Japanese, which is associated with rebirth, new life, as well as deceit and lies. Sasuke had been living a lie in his own head and sheds his old skin after learning the truth about Itachi. So he changes the name to that of an animal that can fly free, live in the truth and not a world of lies, one that represents power, but also war. The Hawk, or in Japanese, Taka.

Incredible analysis. Despite all the flaws this story has, one thing I always thought Kishimoto excelled at is the relationship between Sasuke and Naruto. Their whole dynamic, the depth of their bond, what it meant to both of them, their opposite but also so closely similar point of views, their struggles and meetings and fights, all of that is what makes Naruto special. Without question the pivot around which the whole story turns and what ultimately sets Naruto apart from any other shounen. Kishimoto was a master in cultivating and developing the dynamic between Sasuke and Naruto, truly, until its resolution.

    • @wwe12153
      @wwe12153 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Actual the flaws of the story came from the bad handling of the dynamic between sasuke and naruto, I can’t even call it dynamic, it was so static and boring .
Can you tell me how exactly is naruto apart from other shounen? 👽
I mean if we are talking about literary aspects, naruto isn’t even among the top 20 shounen , some shounen are already some of the best mangas , so really naruto is just another normal shounen

    • @IntoMyFantasy
      @IntoMyFantasy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@wwe12153 I agree with you there, in fact I said that what sets Naruto apart is how it developed Naruto and Sasuke's relationship and dynamic. While rivalry in shonen isn't anything new, Naruto and Sasuke's bond went way beyond that, and if you cannot appreciate that about it, there isn't much else that sets the show apart from the others. If you think it was boring, then I agree that Naruto isn't particularly special. You think N&S relationship ruined it, I think it was the only thing that made the whole show worth watching.

@@IntoMyFantasy to be more detailed, i think the problem with it is the simplicity, which isn’t always a bad thing, but we are talking about a conflict that starts in chapter 2 and ends in 720 ,
First the simplicity came from sasuke’s path , where he hears something, abd he decides what to do without thinking about it
      -itachi killed my family
      =i’ll kill him
-itachi was forced by the village
= i will destroy the village
-itachi wanted to protect the village and make peace
= i will do the same
For example the guy said that naruto has doubts, but did sasuke have any doubts after part 1 ? it was handled well in the first part , but after that , it started to be bland
I think a conflict like this needs the two sides to switch philosophies some time , naruto to have questionable moral choices , making 500 chapters just trying to understand him wasn’t enough,
      It needed more realism too

    • @IntoMyFantasy
      @IntoMyFantasy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@wwe12153 ah, yes, I see your point. It's definitely not as complex as it could have been, and we don't get to see as much of Sasuke's pov as I wished we could, but I believe even from how little we get, you can infer that he did have doubts. Multiple times, in fact, which is the reasons why he changes paths a few times, he revives the old hokages, he follows tensei-itachi, and he ultimately always feels something when he's faced with Naruto. If you take your time to consider Sasuke's situation his choices (and the way he changes his mind too) make sense. You could also say that Naruto went against all his beliefs so that he could reach Sasuke. He was willing to give up on his dream to be hokage. He questioned everything he ever wanted or believed in for Sasuke and viceversa. Which is what ultimately makes their relationship so beautiful? You can disagree of course and think it's boring, but I personally found it fascinating and addicting and I rarely find that. It might be unrealistic but it's powerful, in my opinion. But again we can agree to disagree, of course :)

@@IntoMyFantasy it may make sense , but one may think that acting straightforwardly in situations doesn’t completely make sense , i mean in the first part sasuke was shown to be conflicted, wavering, but in the second part , there wasn’t any of that , he doesn’t take time to decide what to do, it was all on a whim , people who hate sasuke do that because he seems stupid , not because he is a bad person or something, because you know shounen readers always like bad people 😅

    • @samlerf
      @samlerf 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@HotBoySpicy This is my defence of Sasuke: I think Sasuke is a strong aspect of the series. And I think many people read some of his acts wrong. He DOES like Naruto and Sakura.
Who showed up in Sasuke's mind after Kakashi told him that they both found people that they care about? When Sasuke starts caring about Taka while fighting Killerbee... the image of which other team shows up in his mind? Exactly.
That's why he tried to leave the village in the middle of the night without them knowing. If he had really planned to murder Naruto, then why leave Konoha first? He could have simply visited Naruto, waited until the knuckelhead turned his back and just stabbed him or something. But he wants Naruto to stay alive and fulfil his dream (he even says so, kinda, when they meet in Orochimaru's hideout). And even when they fight in the valley of the end (and let's remember that the curse mark is obviously having a strong influence on Sasuke's hate and pain, like a drug) he still tries to talk Naruto out of a fight. Why do that if he DOES want to kill Naruto? Yes, he does it in a rude manner, but only because it would (1) be more painful to have a friendly and kind conversation - and (2) he knows that Naruto can't be on this mission all alone (I mean, why else should the sound Ninja be missing?). And it is only when Naruto refuses to leave that Sasuke tries to swallow down his feelings and get the "Job done". And yet, he can't bring himself to really kill his comrade. In his eyes the hidden leaf failed to kill his brother - or at least put him in prison.
Hell, even the anime seem to suggest that the leaf didn't exactly do all that much to hunt Itachi. One might say that's because the hokage knew Itachi wasn't quite the psychopath who he was presented as, yet that doesn't work as an excuse since they had to present him as purely evil and apprently didn't go further then telling their ninja to bring him down if they happened to run into him? Hell, in the Anime-Version Hiruzen suspends Danzou and threatens to prosecute him... and yet does nothing.
The third Hokage - in theory the strongest Ninja in the village - was killed by Orochimaru. And Sasuke's Teacher was defeated by Itachi as well. AND Itachi - as he says in Sasuke's presence - is part of an secret, most likely evil Organisation. So time is running out. And did you notice how quickly Orochimaru arrives at the end of Sasukes first Shippuden Fight with Naruto? Doesn't that imply that he was keeping an eye on this confrontation for some time now? And woudn't Sasuke see through that? I think he speculated that Sai would stop his attack. He hates Orochimaru (even says so). And I don't think that he ever planned to give that guy his body. But in becoming Orochimaru's apprentice he could do three Things:
Keep an eye on that guy.
      Obtain further strength.
Take down another villain on his quest to stop Itachi from cousing more harm.
Before the Kage Meeting Sasuke does all he can to never peform an unnecessary kill. Even in the training with Orochimaru. I dare to speculate that Sasuke wanted to murder Itachi in order to prevent people going through the same nightmare as him.
And once that would have been done, who knows what would have happened? he could have planed to go into exil, find a small village and live a peaceful life as a farmer, guard or something. Or (less likely) return to the leaf and explain himself. He isn't an idiot. He may very well know that Tobi isn't his friend. That he told the truth about Itachi, because he knew that Sasuke could never forget that, live on. So he could use him for his own goals. But the fact remains, that Sasuke DOES now know the truth. And let's not forget that Sasuke is now a Rogue Ninja. And Kakashi clearly states that Rogue Ninjas get killed. Tsunade signaled a big change from previous leadership. She probably knew quite well how Naruto felt, maybe she was able to see through Sasuke's deception towards Orochimaru, hoping he would come back after this, hoping, that Team 7 (similar to her own) coud experience a better ending.
Remember when Sasuke noticed how Konoha followed him (after he "killed" Orochimaru) and he destroyed Naruto's Shadow Clone? Sasuke doesn't feel worthy of love. So from his positon it makes no sense that Naruto (still) would think of him as a friend. He must think Naruto now (in the best case) only wants to bring him down. And (in the worst case) take revenge himself. It is only after Danzou's death (remember that Sasuke at this point feels like his life is worthless) That Naruto makes clear to Sasuke how his intentions never changed. Sasuke wants to believe in Naruto's words.
But how could someone love him? And how can he feel that wish? Did he learn nothing? But Sasuke sees no way out. He probably thought the leaf chased after him ever since he left. That they want to kill him and Kakashi is lying. And now that he knows the truth about Itachi (and of course he believes it. To not believe it is to face the fact that HE killed his own brother for literaly nothing - which would be too mutch to shoulder for most adults, let alone a teenager) it gives him something to live for. The war against the people he blames for everything. Who (as he believes) want to kill him anyway. And let's not forget: Even with Sasuke helping to end the war and defeat Kaguya, the decision about Sasuke's fate afterwards came out very close - Kakashi literally remarks at the end (again) that Rogue ninja usually get killed.
If Sasuke had lost his moral compass completely even before the reveal about Itachi then him killing the samurai wouldn't have been presented as a notable step in his descent into darkness.

This is an absolutely amazing analysis. Naruto gets too much of a bad rap for being as popular as it is, and the main criticisms are typically among those who misunderstand the central themes of the story claiming that it turned on itself by introducing itself as an underdog story , and then making Naruto a destined savior. But it was never about that it was always about "never giving up" "the bond of friendship and family" "how one loses themself of a path of isolation" "the cycle of hatred" "escapism" "acceptance" all of these themes are fleshed out brilliantly through multiple characters yet people always love to focus on the underdog story not actually being an underdog story. Naruto is a fantastic anime that for sure still has its flaws, but still gives its main characters time to grow into their ideas while simultaneously giving the audience some of the most entertaining action is all of media. Im so glad I was able to grow up with this show and its characters and its nice to see people that still appreciate all the good that it did.

25:38 The picture on the left was Naruto being saved by Minato while the right one is Sasuke being saved by Itachi, and i find that more meaningful and fitting, cuz Itachi and Minato mirror each other in a way, both are prodigies expected by their comrades to become the leader of the village because of their talents the parallel is that Itachi was lead and manipulated by circumstances to the wrong path and ultimately sacrificed his own life whilst Minato succeeded in becoming Hokage. And they both saved the two "brothers" from despair.

So nice to see someone who actually "gets" the story. Most people who criticize Naruto focus far too much on the "child of destiny" aspect, and seem to think Naruto was simply a zero-to-hero story. Even upon my multiple rewatches, before being able to articulate the point as good as you did, I had already noticed two things 1.) the concept of the "cycle of hatred" was introduced and re-enforced all the way from the land of waves arc, and 2.) the story strategically cycled back and forth between Naruto and Sasuke's evolutions, which meant there was clearly something being said here. Unfortunately, much of what was said gets bogged down in memes about how "Neji was right" and "Naruto is just gay for Sasuke lol". Anyways, thank you for doing this.

    • @r.a.panimefan2109
      @r.a.panimefan2109 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

I do agree with u to a point.
      The jokes aside.
I do think the child of destiny thing undermines the series.
There truly is deep well thought out character story between Naruto and Sasuke.
The reason people don't like the destiny thing is Naruto was not about destiny.
It was about characters over coming there circumstances.
But in the end all those dreams goals trials he overcame just build down to destiny. Instead of random chaos.
My problem with Naruto was never these reasons tho.
      And I don't hate Naruto.
I think it's a classic everyone should watch.
      But my issue
      Plotholes.
      Inconsistent power scaling.
Hax power a that go beyond general world lore.
(I.e explain how a eye that cast hypnosis summons a Chakra mech.)
Bad development on the surrounding world and cast.
Afterall this series went to the hatred
      Of (THE WORLD).
but how much of it do we really see.
Kishi fell into the classic mistake of show don't tell.
There's also problems with the female characters.
This series is a Rollercoaster of highs and lows.
Highs due to the beautiful woven dynamic between Naruto and his villains.
The interplay of past and present.
      And so on.
Lows because of the failure to make the past characters revelant.
By the end of the story Naruto and Sasuke are so far ahead that the other characters are no longer revelant or even matter.
And kishi has a bad habit of characterizing a characters past right before killing him off.
      I.e
      The death of asuma.
Asuma doesn't matter. He does nothing.
We found out everything about him right before he died.
The only reason it had any emotional impact was because of what it did to
      Ino Shikamaru Choji
But ya it is not simply because it's a joke.
      Or a meme.
      There's legit reasoning for some.

@@livingrentfree9596 I did say it impacted shikamaru
      Didn't I.
But what I mean is that asumas character can't stand upon his own merits. The only effect he has on the plot is through shikamaru. But because asuma. Doesn't do anything he himself is mostly irrelevant.
Compare him to others like hiruzen.
Hiruzen was portrayed enouph before his death that the impact of it mattered to us the audience outside of how it affected the world and its characters.
      Take narutos reaction to asuma.
How much did Naruto actually interact with him
Just briefly Naruto acts like a someone killed his puppy. But there wasn't enouph there for narutos stunned reaction. That's called telling. A author should show.
Asumas death left very little impression on me
I was more drawn in to shikamarus grieving than the actual man himself.
      That's the issue.
U compare that to jiyrayas death.
He had development. He shows up. We see wat he means to naruto. We as a audience felt connected to him
So his death felt heart breaking not just because of Naruto losing his father figure. But because we the audience could connect to jiyraya on a personal lv before his death.
We couldn't do that with asuma.
My point is where Naruto excels in Naruto and his villian and in his dealings with the village. Those dynamics.
It struggles with keeping its characters relevant. In keeping the world relevant.
      Compare to one piece.
U can appreciate and connect with every single character in that show.
      Every character carries weight.

@brien a hax is when something is so broken that it no longer fits in to its magic system.
      Take sharingan
The biggest perp of hax and deus ex machina
The eyes powers functionality was described in the earliest lore by zabuza.
And again by obito. In kaze summit.
Zabuza explains that it contains the piercing eye( seeing Chakra etc)
      And the hypnotic eye(casting genjutsu)
Obito explains that the Uchiha possessed the strong yin release of the sage and his eyes.
He says this when explaining izanagi that to bring the illusion to reality the senju yang is required yes?
Here's the problem those two descriptions undermine most every single power mangekyou entails.
I.e amaterasu. These flames are physical they can hurt u. They are a yin and yang release.
Yin aka what the Uchiha has is the use of using imagination to create form and shape. However that form and shape is insubstantial. Not present not real.
It requires yang release to give corporeal reality to that imagined form.
That is literally obitos explanation for izanagi. So how would a Uchiha with no senju cells be able to cast black flames or the giant Chakra mech susano.
The sharingan breaks its own established rules.
      Aka hax

@@r.a.panimefan2109 Well then you have to bring up the plot of shippuden and one piece as a whole. Mostly, shippuden was about the akatsuki and Sasuke then the world building and character development. Imo that burden should of been on Naruto part 1 to do, as it was kinda cool in the land of waves arc to go on a mission to another village for me.
Not saying shippuden shouldn't of done it, but the criticism on it when doing it in part 1 would of been better is kinda weird.

You have blown this analysis out of the water, you have expertly articulated why this show has had such an impact on me since I was a child and continues to do so now in my adulthood. I have the experience, the knowledge and the wisdom to recognize when a literary work transcends the realm of ordinary, touching divinity itself. For me, Naruto is a 20th/21st century rendition of a story/point that even the ancient sacred texts of our different religions and spiritualities have tried to communicate using symbols, characters and settings that fit the context of the times they were written in. Kishimoto's capacity to create an animated universe that gives life to some of the most important aspects of humanity and the cosmos is something beyond talent. But you're ability to first of all recognize the deeper meaning, and then be able to accurately articulate it to us all is just as special. I began by saying that I didn't have the words to describe what it is you have done, and perhaps I was to a certain extent wrong. But to whatever extent it remains true, because I don't doubt that this medium of communication is not yet big enough to fully quantify it. Thank you and very well done brother.

In one point of view Narutos reunion with Sasuke after so many years paint him center of a demoralizing picture "How can one become hokage if they can't even save their friend." Yet this same attitude, is what ultimately brings Naruto past the point of understanding and forgiveness, to resolve. Your two videos display the genius of Kishimoto's world, and his narrative structure. It's too bad it's mired with filler. I consider the Naruto series to be a rough draft of a brilliant narrative. There are many things that can be optimized but the life of a manga author is not easy. Few have the luxury of truly planning out their story -- and I believe that you have boiled Naruto down to its essence that Kishimoto tried to achieve. Upon watching Naruto I completely missed the fact that Naruto failed on these missions, and the parallels between Sasuke in the original series and Naruto post-time skip. Great work! I don't know, if you really think about it. Pain's philosophy actually did come true. Pain wanted nations to wage wars so they understood pain and that would lead to peace because everyone would have felt that same pain. The only difference is that now everyone has a common enemy in obito and Madara. What pain had envisioned actually came true. All the great nations fought that war and in going through that same pain, They could come to an understanding, There could be peace. Like the tsuchikage said, at the beginning he only joined to defeat the akatsuki but in fighting that war, with the Shinobi that died, he now wanted true peace among the great nations. The only fault is it was only the great nations. The suffering of the smaller nations because of that war would create a new cycle of hatred but that's because they never felt that pain of being in the war that the great nations did. They only felt the pain of being affected by it. Which is an altogether different pain. But yeah, pain was right.

So, Sasuke resembles the broken nature of the shinobi world, and by bringing him home, he metaphorically unites the world. His line “how can I be hokage when I can’t even save one friend?” But in reality, him saving Sasuke from the darkness is aligned with him saving the shinobi world.
To me, Naruto is all about the different cycles we as a society and as humans face. The cycle of life and death, the cycle of hatred, and the cycle of love and loss. With life comes death, with love comes loss. And hate brings about more hate, revenge pushing people to spiral into a world of hatred. And Naruto’s way of pushing aside the hatred and apathy of the shinobi world and accepting the cycles of love and loss is what makes him capable of moving the world forward.

It’s a similar theme to Last of Us II. Which is that hatred begets hatred and love begets love. Abby kills Joel to avenge her father, and Ellie tries to kill Abby to avenge Joel (her adoptive father). But they both realize that revenge is an act of emotion, which clouds judgement. In the end, Ellie learns to let her emotions go, so that she can truly be at peace. It’s about finding a purpose to keep on fighting in a cruel world that has already given up.

Thanks to this video, I'll be able to explain to people why Naruto series is so special to me, not just because of the themes of not giving up, but also of being able to listen to other people and understand them

One thing I love about the anime specifically is that they cleared up some things with sasukes final battle vs naruto at the end he actually takes accountability vs in the manga where he just jumps to “ kill me “ like huh

I never really "got" Naruto and Sasuke's relationship beyond Naruto just really wanting his friend back and Sasuke constantly pushing him away, but this definitely gives a new insight on things.
So thanks for that. I really enjoyed this video.

one of this anime's greatest strengths has always been the divide between Naruto and Sasuke and how much Naruto fights to close that gap between them to save his brother. the lengths he's willing to go to, the words he speaks, the promises he makes, all to try to reach Sasuke and it all becomes worth it when they finally have beaten each other so much that they cannot beat each other anymore. they reminisce on their lives and really begin to understand each other in a way they never had before. I'll never forget the look of sorrow on Sasuke's face when he realizes that he could've been so much happier if he had stayed by Naruto's side, but he chose the path of self-destruction. it was when they were both on the brink of death that they were finally willing to see each other's truths and accept each other

I know this is an older video but THANK YOU. Sasuke is my favorite character because of his depth and the circumstances that made him how he is and it always drives me insane how people judge him for doing basically the same things that Naruto does. There’s SO MANY parallels between them and you highlighted them perfectly. Sasuke has such worse circumstances and it’s so obvious from Kishimoto’s writing we’re supposed to emphasize with that. (Like sun moon imagery COME ON) What makes Naruto’s overall story compelling IS the dynamic between Naruto and Sasuke, how they view the world, and how the the rest of the world views them. Also! The land of waves arc is sooooo good and I’m so glad you emphasized how important it was to the theme of the series overall. Thanks for putting the truth out there ✌️

I was genuinely baffled when I saw that the video had under 10k views and you have under 1k subscribers. The analysis is some of the best I’ve ever seen, and probably will ever see, accompanied by stellar editing and overall production quality that really improves the emotional weight of the essay. Serious props, dude. Ngl, outside of hitting me in the feels, one of my strongest emotional reactions was jealousy for not having been able to identify these themes and come to this conclusion by myself; which I now realize is because you did such an excellent job conveying the entire thing, making it seem oh so obvious and natural. You got talent, man. I have never subscribed to someone so fast in my life. I look forward to your future content!

This kid, Sasuke wanted to bring a change in the shinobi system and reflects so much of realistic energy of hatred, as a byproduct of pain.. He had his whole community, and his beloved parents murdered by his own elder brother whom he loved so much, in front of his own eyes... Unlike anybody else, he realised the truth of the cruel system, and wanted to revolutionize the world to bring peace... He is not just some mere action fighting character, but the epitome of hatred and darkness.. and what is the dreadful yet true path to peace... He is one of my favorite characters in fiction, and my favorite in Naruto. You're one of the few geniuses who really understands it beyond than just fights..

It's sad that while Naruto had help from Iruka, Minato and Kushina in that order during the series, Sasuke got Orochimaru, Itachi and Obito doing the parallel acts in that specific order.
*Naruto got loved by (in this specific order):*
*Iruka* (the one who gave the words to build his confidence and pushed him on his path; heavily influenced by his parent's death and had parallels to Naruto. Also alive in Boruto.)
*Minato* (the one who set the path, showed him love and gave him a choice; completely had good intentions and felt guilt; wanted to give Naruto power to protect himself.)
*Kushina* (the revealer of truth without manipulation, one who was involved in setting the path, and took responsibility for that part, giving him love.)
*Sasuke got manipulated by (in this specific order):*
*Orochimaru* (the one who gave words to crush his confidence and pushed him on his path; heavily influenced by his parents death and had parallels to Sasuke. Also alive in Boruto.)
*Itachi* (the one who set the path, hid his love and took away his choice; completely had good intentions and felt guilt; wanted to give Sasuke power to protect himself.)
*Obito* (the revealer of truth meant to manipulate, one who was involved in setting the path but refused to take responsibility for that part, and taking away his love.)
Think about that; Naruto got Iruka, Sasuke got Orochimaru...
Naruto had his 3 people try to close his wound, make him feel hope and love and to help him reach the goal HE wanted. All 3 showed love and apologized for any suffering he felt while trying to close his wound. All 3 took a blow for Naruto in the back for the sake of protecting him.
Sasuke had his 3 people try to open his healing wound, make him feel despair and hate and to make him reach the goals THEY wanted. All 3 showed cruelty and put the blame on others for the suffering he felt while trying to open his wound. Sasuke on the other hand tried to give all 3 a blow from the front and failed.
    _________________________
It's funny, both Minato and Itachi are the main sources of why Naruto and Sasuke respectively suffered and felt pain, and both were forced to do so by outside forces beyond their control. But their method and path they left for their younger was drastically different.
Itachi guided Sasuke on a path of destruction and hatred, Minato, a path of love.
Itachi's idea was carried off near perfectly, but it was a stupid plan.
Minato gave Naruto the help he needed, let him know that he was loved, told the truth, and let Naruto make the choice.
Itachi did not give Sasuke help he needed, did not let him understand he was loved, told a lie and took the choice away from his little brother.
Now, to be fair, Itachi was a 13 year old little boy who was just forced to murder almost all of his loved ones and filled with despair... Minato was an experienced Veteran who was filled with hope...

This (and that Defence of talk no justu video) shows what outsiders and most fans missed, the utter genius of the writing in this series. Still not a masterpiece from a story standpoint, but this two parter made me love the story of this series much more than I already have. And hey it made appreciate that Sasuke went from the cool, calm and composed anti-villain, to a psycho-maniac hypocrite who became a shell of his former self, to wanting to become hokage.
Oh and the fact that the Uchiha are failures

Amazing video and excellent analysis. Some of the messages in Naruto are told clearly through dialogues, but a lot of them are hidden deeper. I feel like the more iconic this series is, the more people assume it's overated and overlook how well written it is. Naruto might not be perfect, but it deserves all the recognition. I really appreciate your videos.

Was your intention with these videos to make me cry, just like I cried at the end of Naruto and Sasuke's last fight ? Because you succeeded, congrats !
I've always had trouble explaining how Naruto and Sasuke were my favorite characters from Naruto, but as a complementary whole (and without going into shipper mode haha). They're fine as individual characters, but to me it's through their parallelling dynamic that they really shine.
That's why I can't choose one over the other. There are a lot of amazing characters in Naruto, and neither Sasuke nor Naruto are my favorites alone (I'd say it's Tsunade or Shikamaru probably). But them, together ? They make the series, they complete each other !
So thank you for your amazing analysis :)
