Naruto is definitely a W friend. Because ultimately he saved Sasuke from the loneliness and darkness that was making his life worse. He gave Sasuke a chance of redemption, supported him, and helped him find inner peace after Final Valley
Sasuke represents loving so intensely and having it ripped away and being left on the path of vengeance, Naruto represents longing for love and being on the path of earning the love of those around him.
@@LilXancheX Nope Sasuke could have remained single but he didn't... he married (Sakura Haruno) the girl that fell in love with him during the chuinn exams.
Just another of the reasons Tobirama is by no means racist or evil. He simply saw the world and the people in it for who they were. Did he do everything right? Of course not, but he didn't do anything from the place of simply malice, because Tobi knew that would make him just like the Uchiha he despised and feared.
I genuinely think Sasuke didn't fully hate Itachi even at the final battle. That's why Itachi keeps repeating to him "You don't have enough hate, you need to hate me more". In their final battle it doesn't even feel like he wants to kill Itachi, it feels more like he wants to show Itachi what he's become.
Same. I never bought that Sasuke 100% went with Itachi's lies considering how easy it was for Sasuke to accept Itachi's good intentions versus the years of him not accepting Itachi's bad intentions (aka Itachi's hatred speeches).
@@Egomie_666 while i respect your opinion, sasuke didnt *just* accept itachis good intentions. he had a whole crisis over it and didnt believe it truly until danzo himself confirmed it to him. i do think that even if ssasuke hated itachi, he also loved him so much that THAT is what made him want to bear the hatred of the world, if it meant bringing peace to everyone else
Of course he didn’t hate Itachi. His ideals were created and inspired by how Itachi lived in the first place. He wanted revenge, but he had ALWAYS revered his older brother from start to finish.
Itachi and Sasuke’s relationship is the most heartbreaking of all Naruto. Itachi obviously loves Sasuke, having been a nurturing figure while Sas was a child, and the only one he couldn’t kill, but what he did to him (and to the clan obvs but that goes beyond saying) is truly unforgivable. Sasuke also loves Itachi, and after the plot twist he holds Konoha’s leaders responsible instead, but he’s truly between a rock and a hard place. Sasuke being so resistant to bonds and having to shoot down Naruto makes sense given the whole trauma his brother inflicted on him. Why love, when it brings pain beyond measure?
I always believed that Sasuke was (deep down) afraid of getting close to anyone because he feared he would lose them like he did his family. So being cold and pushing them away was easier instead of forming bonds with them that had the potential to be broken.
That’s exactly what it is, Sasuke fears attachment because it caused him so much grief in the past. That’s in direct opposition to what he really wants, which is love and acceptance. Pay attention to his facial expressions during the lead up into his final battle with Naruto. There’s a subtle bit of disbelief in his expression. Like he doesn’t want to do the things he talks about doing. The “I lost” line wasn’t just about acknowledging Naruto’s strength, he was smiling and crying because it represented him finally allowing himself to be loved, and how good it felt.
I think this is also why Sasuke questioned Naruto repeatedly over why he goes so far to bring him back, of what does friend mean to him. His other intimate relationship, with his brother, Itachi, is fraught and toxic as hell (for obvious reasons). Sasuke obviously cares about Naruto, I’d say he’s the only person he loves aside from Itachi, but he is unsure about what he means to Naruto, because he’s unsure and adverse to intimate relationships overall.
Yes. Even post war in Sasuke Shinden Karin summed it up pretty well - he got sharingan, after which he know, people still will be after. So he distanced himself even after war, not being even 'full Konoha ninja' again, so to keep everyone he cares about, as village, save. Even in BORUTO he decided to let citizens to hate him and never revealed, nor let reveal Naruto truth about Uchiha clan and Wasuke reason to slaughter Danzo. He is one of most selfless soul in Narutoverse, but not many people will ever get it. 🤷🏻♀️
My best friend called me one night crying his eyes out. The girl he thought he was gonna marry and spend the rest of his life with had cheated on him. His world had been falling apart. I didn’t know what to say or how to comfort him. The only thing I could do was cry with him. Several weeks after that phone call. I couldn’t get over the fact that she had done that. My heart was hurting and I was crying as if I was the one who she had broken up with. I was so confused as to why I was feeling like this. After watching this video, I think I finally understand why that happened. I think I unconscious tried to bear that burden with him. I just wanted to relieve some of that pain for him, even if it meant taking some myself. Naruto taught me to do that, because life is meaningless if you don’t form those bonds and do whatever it takes to protect them.
So true man. I'm glad that you're a good friend and you're there for him through that horrible time. I've experienced similar things in my life with friends going through incredibly painful things, and I feel it too. That's why I relate to Naruto so much as well. He doesn't give up on people even when everyone else does. Bonds, friendship, and love are the most important things in life, and we must do our best to be there for others.
when people say they hate sasuke, i just know they didn't pay attention to the plot and cared little because they simply couldn't understand the depths of this character. I PERSONALLY believe thatn Sasuke went through greater pain than most of the characters (including Naruto)
Naruto is a Story About Love OMG, yes!!! Finally!!! I was so mad when people were actually thinking that Naruto's main theme in the story was about talent vs hard-work...
To be fair, I think earlier on the theme of hard work vs talent was more prominent and then it got dropped, then love and bonds became the more prominent theme
I love Naruto, I grew up with it and it's one of my favorite series out there. It's not perfect, but it's characters, messages and themes are stuff to abide by in life.
If Naruto wasn't in my life in middle school I would've ended up more like Sasuke, Obito, young Gaara, etc. than I did. Probably lazier too lol. Now as an adult I can "get" what Kishimoto was going for. I probably will show Naruto to my kid(s) one day. Hopefully I'll do a good enough job that they won't need it like I once did though, but rather can show it to drive home life lessons they've already got subconscious seeds planted for.
When it comes to the reincarnation stuff, people think it means Naruto and Sasuke were destined to be Gods, but what it really means is that it’s a battle between love and hate, between the light and darkness. Ashura, Hashirama and Naruto all carried light, and Indra, Madara, and Sasuke all carried the darkness. Except Ashura and Hashirama failed Indra and Madara because they gave up on their love and bonds. Naruto never gave up on his love for Sasuke throughout anything, and was willing to take this love for him into the grave that brought Sasuke out of the darkness. Ultimately, it was love and unity that saved the Shinobi World.
True but it also perpetuates a toxic notion of love and friendship: don't give up on friends even if they are turning into serial killers , if you give up you ain't a good friend.
I'd still much prefer if it was a natural cycle of world circumstances and people who didn't have enough in them to break it instead of destiny, prophecies and aliens of all things. History repeats a lot in real life too and we don't have any chosen ones, just crafty people who work hard to achieve something important. Naruto worked hard sure, but with all that crap, it turned out that he was never the underdog in the first place.
@@Some_guy_passing_by Naruto not giving up on Sasuke, despite the fact, doesn't perpetuate a 'toxic notion'. Naruto's story is about how important Sasuke is to HIM. It's fine if you can't be as forgiving as Naruto, but again, fiction. Free yourself from 'realistic' expectations in these stories. For what it's worth, Sasuke insisted and willingly did his time in prison (in the anime).
I feel like the writing of naruto is honestly perfect metaphor for life, there is hardship, boring episodes, filler, true suffering, happiness, friends, and ultimately, love. Like life, it’s not a perfect story, but the portrayal of its message, is one of a kind
Naruto and Sasuke bond is something, that many manga/stories try to repeat today... But it just CAN'T be done. Kishimoto did absolute MASTERPIECE and only more 'hitting' for people, more aware will it make them, IF ONE, especially Sasuke, was GIRL. Then they will be even more ready to see, how LOVE is on both sides. 🙌
I don't know. I think Naruto and Sasuke's relationship would be much lamer and also more unhealthy if it was romantic as opposed to what we got in canon.
@@murddeath Funniest is, able to create new gen, Kishimoto *still made them soulmates, without pissing off fandom, that is biggest inspitarion in other 'extreamly/borderline close bonds creations in fiction', adressed more often, than any other NARUTO ship.* 🙌 💯 Now bombshell for You. It already IS story about Naruto's love, even if often very clumsy and unable to come clear. If it was 'romance' only difference will be kiss by end. 🤷🏻♀️ Taking how Sasuke grown due to Naruto's 'love', (where even last originally chapter, 699 ends by conclusion of 'love bond winning over, breaking curse of hate' no matter, how one want to see it), going his tsundere way to accept it. 🤷🏻♀️ What fans don't see/acknowledge is, Sasuke tried, but couldn't cut his bond with Naruto AS OBSESSIVELY, by ki//ing him and NOT just phisically, he tried MULTIPLE TIMES, so to fallow his 'mission'(surprise, surprise, whole Hinata leaving for Alien is 2h rip off of 'Sasuke leaving to Orochimaru' with kiss by end. If Naruto stayed still and LET Sasuke ki// him, I am 90% sure, he will not be able, doing what he did by first Valley fight, with Uzumaki unconcious. Same with Sasuke chakra suddenly 'failing' him, letting Naruto fist touch his chin, instead of cutting him with Chidori, where he got no hestitaton with Itachi even. That will also explain Sasuke's frustration with whole 'nandomo'. 😂 Funniest is, Sasuke, even NOT being in Konoha for whole almost Shippuuden, is person who CANNONICALLY saved Naruto's life most often, doing even more shocking things, than just saving Naruto, again and again: Sasuke(OG) - to show her off HINATA (Shippuuden) - SASUKE in BORUTO in Jigen/Isshiki arc. Like, Hinata whole 'Pain(only in anime so called) fight' is based on Haku arc, to point of Naruto reactions. Her THE LAST scenes in 85% are scenes, that either PIERROT copied, like Orochimaru hideout corridors running, 'all you think about is Sasuke', 'don't You dare talk about Sasuke, as if he was Yours in my presence'... Or Kishimoto remaking Sasuke-Naruto scenes to create more important Hinata scenes, even Kishimoto-sensei allowed using his idea of 'Naruto as first Sasuke fanboy, after Naruto was protected by him - also raw draws of it - making Hinata' bullied' ridiculous story). Aside whole movie riding their bond, Sasuke in 'canon confirmed novels' literally went undercover as prisoner, letting himself being tortured and let his chakra being transplanted to Naruto, with whole this 'saving Uzumaki project', where he took biggest risk. Apropos movies, BORUTO the movie is reminder, how Obito fight 'borrowed' colors are still Sasuke's and Naruto's, no matter what THE LAST projected. 😂 Lets also remember, he only made designs and Toneri story in THE LAST...where in official art he drawn SASUKE AND NARUTO in red scarves - symbol of Hinata love is knitting Naruto's, yet Kishimoto made Sasuke matching scarf, which only get more interesting, when we remember whole 'red thread of fate' Japanese believe, adding original 'Sasuke was first who let Naruto feel he is not alone, by JUST EXISTING - as both were alone, as if sharing each other lonlieness. Naruto was always watching Uchiha, like Hinata him... - as if saying 'kids are needed, but YOU KNOW' 👅). They take any anime 'bromance' and blow it away. 😂 Like, summing up facts, that we find canon( including those novels, that are consieered canon, even if I am sceptical, but as THE LAST is added as canon, so are other novels CONSIDERED CANON. 🤷🏻♀️ So. Naruto was watching Sasuke, always wanting to get close to him, but as unable due pride, made him his rival, to fallow his steps and take motivation off him. Accidental kiss is more of gag, yet Naruto being biggest Sasuke fan in SHIPPUUDEN is not, even before always literally talking about Sasuke, or trying to show Sasuke off. He always was regretting, he didn't came to him, as he was FIRST PERSON thanks to which he felt 'not alone to'... but his level of obsessing over Sasuke, as child, he projected it during WAR through Ino mind transfer. He entered Kyuubi mode first time, thinking, Haku ki//ed Sasuke AND, shockingly for hug ball Uzumaki is, he was TRUELLY ready to ki// Haku, thinking he ended Sasuke life. 😶 Naruto obsession quotes on Uchiha are also legend, so I let slip obvious, aside maybe whole speech, how he will kick, bite, glare, curse and find any way to take Sasuke back from Orochimaru. 🙌 Lets talk about fact, that many FORGET about. How Uzumaki was ready to go after Uchiha alone, after getting only in NARUTO panic attack. If not meeting Itachi, he literally decided drop for a moment whole his 'I wanna be Hokage', just to go after Uchiha, where only ITACHI reminded him of importance of his OTHER bonds. And apropos Itachi, Neji dying request mirror Itachis 'I leave Sasuke to You'. To AGAIN shut about whole his 'I am not one, who can ave You' Itachi speaches. 😂 And BORUTO starts with literally walking misery Naruto, spoiled Boruto and Sasuke carring around 'their will', which as Boruto sensei he start to learn Boruto, learning him also respect for his father, being bridge between Boruto and Naruto, literally. And lets remember, how after Sasuke comming back in BORUTO, so does...Naruto we KNOW. There is even said to be interview, years ago, before BORUTO era, but after THE LAST, where Kishimoto stated, that Sasuke and Naruto - he is 100% sure - can't exist without other. 🤷🏻♀️ Which is literally deffinition of soulmates. Just other existance is making them whole. 🙌 If we take hyperactive, desperate to not be abandoned Uzumaki and TERRIFIED by bonds Uchiha, with all their curses...it was what story was about. Especially manga. 🙏 🙌 But with change of Sasuke STAYING, Uzumaki still finding their bond special, like we see every time, that they shared scenes, adding that anime 'without You nothing makes sense' / 'I feel same way without You, Sasuke' scene. If we look at all subtle clues, like Kishimoto drawing cover with their faces of each other face necklace and sus 'friends' discription... Their 'love story' in a way was very easiely to be made successful. Just leave Sasuke post War arc in village, Naruto most likely obsessing IF he stay FOR SURE, at first, finally seeing, how he just don't see himself going without Sasuke existance, sharing his dream with Sasuke... So, in a way, just like Kishimoto DID... Only without making Sasuke OUT off village, so to give girls chance, so to make BORUTO come truth. 💯 😉 JUST Naruto will probably never get his memories and personality alternated, like he got in THE LAST and first tens chapters of BORUTO. 🤷🏻♀️ PS. Now we got Boruto under Sasuke wings. Kawaki is meme of SasuNaru child, not saying how Kishimoto wrote Road to Konoha, where he made Menma Namikaze black haired Uzumaki with sharingan. And so many other arguments. 😂 After War they fight for Ninja future, which is what will only make Naruto even more insisting on Sasuke presence... If not fake memories, that in BORUTO got literally explained as *senrigan* . 🌕 🌞 🌝
@@murddeath as if Naruto and Sasuke's relationship wasn't already the epitome of toxic friendship! Making him a girl would not change it . Imagine chasing after a guy who is a serial killer...
@@murddeath A serial killer is a serial killer regardless of justification....But yeah no Naruto and Sasuke's relationship is already unhealthy, don't see how one of them being a chick would change much aside from pushing people to accept the romantic subtext of their bond
Naruto is a lot deeper than most people realise. My mother always viewed my love for Naruto as a cute hobby, until the other day i explained the plot without telling it was from an anime and she was actually interested❤
you know, i never really thought to contextualize naruto's dedication to sasuke through the lens of what happened during the land of waves. That arc built the foundation of naruto and sasuke's relationship. 1. Their commitment to getting better and to beat each other as rivals, through the chakra control training. 2. Just how well they work together as a team when it gets down to it, when they helped free kakashi. and 3. sasuke sacrificing himself for naruto and the effect it has on him This is the first major arc, and the first real time they see real battle. Theyre all still new to each other, so this is the first time seeing each other in action, and first impressions are important in shaping how they viewed each other. Not only did this give them more respect for each other, but naruto saw firsthand what kind of person sasuke is. At his core sasuke is a decent person who has the same love for his comrades that naruto has, and this moment is burned into naruto's memory. Nobody else quite knows the content of sasuke's character more than naruto, because he's seen what he's made of when it really matters. So when everybody else turns on sasuke (rightfully so), naruto is the only one who still sees there's a good man somewhere deep down in there. And even once naruto understands sasuke's pain and acknowledges that sasuke may be past the point of no return, he doesn't compromise his dedication to his friend.
Love is the biggest driving force in Naruto and it’s also the largest source of both misery and some level of sorrow-love is felt so deeply and yet is taken just as quick.
Gonna write a second comment because it really got me thinking. I grew up watching Naruto since I was 8, watched it again when I was 13, and again when I was 18. It’s one of my favorite pieces of media because it shaped who I am today. it's essentially a show about love, loyalty, and never giving up. That’s very motivational, and I’ve always liked that a lot. It’s also just very entertaining and the world Kishimoto built is so special. Naruto means a lot to me. But now that I'm looking back on the show again, as a 24-year-old this time, I realize that it's a lot grittier, uglier, more toxic than I thought it was. The good parts remain unchanged, but, I never really saw the toxicity and the complication in the show. But now that I’ve lived and loved and also suffered, it's sort of like, “Did it make sense for Naruto to chase after Sasuke for that long?” or “Were they actually healthy?” It’s been strange realizing that Naruto and Sasuke’s friendship isn’t as smooth and perfect as I had thought. They weren't best friends in the traditional sense, but I think they were best friends in the sense that they offered each other something no one else could. And they understood and cared in ways other people didn't. There is something undeniably special about their bond. Sasuke was ready to die saving Naruto on their first mission, even when he had important goals, himself. This obviously would leave a lasting impression on Naruto more than anything else. And, their rivalry is like, "he drives me to be better.” It’s certainly still very special and beautiful, but I wish we had gotten more of that in part 1. I think the fact that they still considered each other to be that person after all these years does say a lot, though. I’m also glad Kishimoto gave us a happy ending and more happy moments in Boruto. I think re-processing Naruto and Sasuke’s friendship has sort of been reality-breaking in a way. It's not this idealistic friendship, and it’s very complicated, but I think I actually might like that more. Now that I'm older, I realize things just are never that simple. Well, some things are, but relationships are often not. It’s been weird seeing people swing on extremes, either blindly supporting their friendship, claiming they were perfect, or downright disregarding and saying they weren't friends at all. It’s been quite painful for me, the fact that their friendship has been that polarizing and confusing. Because I care about them so much. Another thing that frustrated me during this rewatching, reprocessing journey was that I realized that Kishimoto could’ve done things better. I mean, he's still a genius. He created something very, very special. But for the message he was trying to put out, he could have paced things out a lot better. I don't think he needed to change anything in the actual story, but I think he needed to take more time to develop their bond. Well, he sort of did that later on with the flashbacks of them smiling at each other and doing the unison sign, among other monologues. But it wasn’t that fleshed out before. I think the wasted potential really gets me. But still, it’s an amazing story regardless. And I’m saying all this now as an adult. But, back then, it was all good enough for me. The way he portrayed their friendship still inspired me and made me love it. Even in an imperfect form, it managed to touch my heart that much. I understood what he meant, so I do still think that he did a good job overall. And at the end of the day, we interpret art in whatever ways we want and need, and this journey has been interesting. I wonder what it’ll mean to me again in another 10 years.
At 17:58 sasuke sees all the friends naruto had along the way, and then sees himself alone. And then finally he sees himself right next to naruto, and I think it was him thinking “shit… so this whole time he just didn’t want me to be alone” and I like how the expression shows how much he knew he fucked up!!
John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down ones life for his friends. Basically, their dynamic in the land of waves (Sasuke) and the final fight (Naruto). "How could I ever become a hokage if I can't save a single friend?" is the most powerful quote in Naruto imo.
I also had a friend once, whom I called a brother of my own, since he was the only one that had come to me and accepted me when noone did...he was the world to me and I would have done anything I cold if and when he'd requested anything from me... though gutwrenchingly he abandoned me as if I never meant to him the second he felt like it just because he could because of an misunderstanding he caused himself... I tried to reestablish our bond, but he jst like sasuke severed it and didn't want to elaborate... Though unlike Naruto I'm powerless to change anything because I'd not like to hurt him or his family and because I wouldn't have liked to end up being the one who's the reason...even if I did nothing bad to have him abandon me like he did, since I gave my heart and sol to him...yet ended up alone once again... Wish I could be like Naruto, but can't since this world's not written in favor of those who deserve better, but those who revel in one's suffering... Still miss him as a brother and would have loved to retry but don't know how... I know that it's just a wishful thinking but I wish that everything could have gone differently and that he did listen to me instead of accusing me for his short comings and his deafness when the misunderstanding happened... I hate being wronged by the one who was closer to me than my family even...and then ending up as if I was the one in the wrong even if I always tried to please him and do everything he requested...yet still it hurts like a wound that only bleeds more the time passes... I know that noone cares, but I just wanted to write because the video had hit me hard...for which I'd like to apologize the Sage to,since I wouldn't have liked him to be dismayed, since I love the channel and the content he makes...because of which I'm subscribed to... Either way, would wish you all and the Sage for all the best in the world and would love to see more from this channel...and sorry again for me writing this...just did because I don't know what to do anymore...

@@jairekambui7738 While I won't disagree with bleach being the weak link of the three, I think there's a lot positive that could be said about it that often goes unsaid. Imo, it's kinda subtle about a lot of it's better qualities in a way that makes them really easy to miss if you don't know what to look for.
@@bigchungus6827 I wouldn’t exactly agree, I think Bleach is a pretty straightforward bad manga. The character writing and storytelling is poor, there’s too many characters, too much action and too little story for how long it is. Personally I read the bleach manga twice, and watched the anime once so I think I understand the series. It’s just not good at all in my opinion. The best thing about it is the paneling and art style, which is truly spectacular. The characters and abilities look rather interesting. However The substance of the series is very poor and messy. The final arc in particular is just extremely bad on a fundamental level, which is why the anime hasn’t been and won’t be able to fix it.
@@jairekambui7738 Imo, the one thing I'll say the manga absolutely fails to do right is the two "final bosses", yhwach and aizen. It does very much feel like Kubo just wrote himself into a corner and had to deus ex machina out of it. The character bloat I can kinda agree with, especially towards the end of the final arc, but I think the writing is strong enough with a lot of the major characters that it doesn't really bother that much.
@@bigchungus6827 I actually think bleach’s cast isn’t very good at all, even the better characters. The problem is the character relationships are terrible. I think it’s a problem if I can’t really get emotionally attached to any character in a series and bleach is exactly that. He also waited too late to explore some of these characters and wasted other characters far too early. Chad is supposed to be a main character, Uryu in the last arc is a joke, I don’t care about Kyoraku, Toshiro or anything, I mean these characters are just not compelling. It feels like these characters just exist to stand around and fight whatever the next big threat is. They don’t really care about anything, so it’s hard to care about them. Even when they have a backstory, it’s written so poorly that I can’t care about them.
That moment, of Naruto defeated in the rain, of Sasuke falling to his knees over him and basically being forced by his own exhaustion to actually look at Naruto and see what he was giving up...that moment changed my life. That moment still hits me to my core. No words needed to be said to convey this feeling that I still can't put into words, but that the scene portrays...this arrow to the heart, twisting, hollowing thing that rips you open and makes you feel so vulnerable...this aching pain. You'll know something similar if you have ever loved with your whole being...but i was born with this feeling in my chest of melancholy, devotion, and pain, this dark love...this longing...and I see it in Naruto's story...especially in the Uchiha and how they describe this love that drives them to insanity built into them. I know it well; I know that moment in the rain well. I wonder how anyone deals with this feeling. Does it ever stop?
Not your video actually making me cry 🤣🤣 NARUTO is truly such a beautiful story with such a good message. You put it into words very well. Naruto's character is so well written, he extends his hand and understands people who are victims of their circumstances, because he knows that could be him if Iruka didn't save him in episode 1. The Land of Waves arc really is a very important arc for the overall story. After Sasuke's sacrifice, there's no way Naruto would ever give up on him. During Naruto and Sasuke's first fight it's sad to hear Sasuke say Naruto never lost a bond so he can't understand how he feels, while Naruto is fighting so hard because he knows he is about to lose his most important bond. What I always liked about Naruto and Sasuke is that neither of them is right or wrong, you can see where both are coming from. Great video!
Naruto is my favorite shonen. It always resonated with me because I see it as a story about empathy. It has a focus on the importance of love and how dangerous loneliness can be. I really, really appreciate these themes in the story. Thanks for the video. This is a great analysis!
Something amazing about kishi's writing is the parallels he draws. There are many bonds that act as a foil to naruto and sasuke's bond, like Hashirama and Madara, Kakashi and Obito, Jiraiya and Orochimaru etc. But unlike Hashirama, kakashi or Jiraiya, Naruto succeeds in bringing sasuke back from the darkness because of his empathy, this is what makes him the main character.
Their relationship is very beautiful, it is a friendship that is not easily broken, but is always restored, and all sins are forgiven, whatever they may be, because he is a person whose trust is a friend, as Naruto said to Sasuke.
"Just that when I see you take on stuff and get all messed up… it kinda hurts… it hurts inside so much, I can't just leave it alone." I'm not crying, you're crying
I have not watched a single episode of Naruto, and probable never will. But if there was something out there to convince me to do it, it would be this video because. Wow. This is really powerful.
I can't stand anymore people that thinks of Love as "reciprocal sexual istincts" instead of the real meaning of it... UNDERSTANDING. BONDS. EMPATHY, FEELING CLOSE, HELPING EACH OTHER AND BE THERE WHEN YOUR "LOVED ONE" NEEDS YOU! THAT is LOVE! The other is an ancestral animal instinct that unconsciousely can't help ourselves but reproduce our species via the libido. Take Madara for example in his famous "Tsuki no Me / Wake up to Reality" speech to Obito: "...A World of Only Peace, a World of only Victors, A WORLD OF ONLY LOVE. I will create such a World..." And what the hell do you think he was thinking when he said "ONLY LOVE" if not what I said above? (Errr... PLS take aside Obito which did everything he done risking his very life for one single youth crush...THAT is that "another love" or else... how could he would have the power to control the Juubi with a picture in mind, and the last piece as the Ten-Tails was tearing him apart was Rin fragment in the Minato Team portrait...or even better, when Madara decided that it was time to come back to life but he resisted screaming like hell just after a brief flashback of Rin in his mind before becoming Juubito...😅). Love is universal reciprocal understanding. The other is mere libido. Not that is important heck if it does not exist in our realm we would be lost millennials ago... but I am sure you got the point since I was talking about Naruto and Sasuke! ✌🏻
I don't even think Rin was really a crush so much. For Obito she was sorta a personification of all the different forms of love. She listened to him, pepped him up when he was down, bandaged his wounds... It's less that he had a crush on her, and more that she represented for him everything positive about the shinobi world, and all the love in it.
4:50 This question answers Kawaki's obsession with Naruto in Boruto perfectly. Willing to do whatever it takes to keep him save. The way Kawaki sealed them in the daikokuten realm was unfair and wrong, but the intentions were there. He went wrong the moment he triggered Omnipotence
I feel like Boruto has a greater theme of love than Naruto tbh. The whole show is basically about paternal love. Mitsukis arc, saradas arc,Kawaki’s arc and even Boruto’s arc are all about paternal love basically. They all have daddy issues lol

Sasuke and Naruto. fated to fight, friends, enemies, and friends again. I wonder if jiraya didn't give up on orochimaru if he could've convinced his old friend to come back. Face his crimes and after a fair trial, his knowledge could be used for the good of the village
This made me cry in the best possible sense. What an absolute masterpiece of an analysis of an masterpiece story. One of if not the best video about Naruto i have ever seen and i would go as far as to say you have managed to pinpoint and describe the story the closest to Kishimotos true intention - at least in my opinion and understanding. GREAT WORK MAN KEEP IT UP! Love you
Awsome video, been loving the resurgence of positive naruto media over the past couple years. Not to say critique doesn't have a place within the series but often time these critiques fail after actually watching/reading the material and not the meme. Especially because online debate about the series has become quite toxic. For a show/manga that features several inner conflicts within the series, it's always funny to see it reflected in the real life fandom. Preciate the vid
This was a very deep and well written series (with flaws) and many of us were too young to really understand what it was really about when it ended almost a decade ago. A lot of people make comparisons to other shonen without fully understanding what Naruto is about and why Kishimoto chose to write it in the way that he did. Now that people are older, they can finally appreciate it for what it is, and that’s probably the deepest shonen manga ever written.
I share Naruto's belief in bonds. I've struggled with returning the favor to those I've bonded with, but seeing this really gives me faith in all that. I would even go so far as to say that love is the best part of being human.
Reflections on themes like this make me really proud to know that Naruto was the childhood anime I gravitated too. I took a lot of the lessons I learned from Naruto as the self-isolating kid and gained much strength and many important people to me because of Naruto. Showing unbending love even in the face of hardship is something truly uncany when you really see it in person/are receiving it. I hope everyone will get to feel it in some way.
The way i was sobbing by the end of this, i havent watched naruto in years and rhe way you describe the bond between sasuke and naruto was so beautiful, it reminded me of why i loved this anime so much.
Beautiful message and well written analysis. It honestly shocks me to see how many Naruto fans misread or misinterpret the message of the entire series. You've earned my sub!
Its a good day whenever Sage posts 😭😭 and this is why Naruto will always have a special place on my heart! The empathy and compassion this show displays throughout the entire series…brb I’m crying
Love has always been strong in Naruto. Its what gave other characters strength while others it brought nothing but pain. The desire to feel love and not lose that love fuels many of them.
Damn, it's really great how well you put out the themes of the story in words. It got me really emotional. Because ultimately, I think all of us can relate to the messages of loneliness, love and wanting to be loved...
This made me cry. It perfectly explains everything that I’ve thought and felt about Naruto. It pains me when people say they weren’t really friends, but it’s more complicated than that. They were friends in a way that couldn’t be experienced with anyone else, and they both knew it. It’s true that in part 1, their friendship was more… instinctual. Neither truly understood the other, but were inexplicably drawn to each other spiritually. They cared deeply and sacrificed themselves for each other regardless. Then in part 2, Naruto finally understands Sasuke’s feelings and accepts them fully. And in the finale, Sasuke finally understands too. It’s all very subtle. Unfortunately, things that are complicated, nuanced, and aren’t obvious are prone to being misunderstood. But, I suppose that is the beauty in the subjectivity of art. Loved it. Thank you for making this 💗
Your point about Naruto understanding Sasuke would make sense if Naruto ever actually showed concerns for things that motivated Sasuke the whole time, such as the massacre of his clan by the very village Naruto defends. Even in the last battle, Naruto completely ignores Sasuke's point about the darkness inherent to the village system and the Hokage title he cherishes. Naruto reduces all of Sasuke's issues with the world to personal problems of loneliness and unhappiness, while completely dodging the issue of justice. With all this in mind, it's no surprise that Naruto merely ended up perpetuating Hashirama's system, with the 5 great villages stronger than ever, Rain village in ruins and the truth about the Uchiha massacre buried under the rug. It's hard for me to look at the epilogue of Naruto and conclude that Naruto understood Sasuke or any of the other main antagonists who all opposes that system.
I think this comes from a bunch of reasons. Because personally I feel the same. Naruto unfortunately falls into the Shonen protag category. He's so unbelievable and unrealistic at times it's kinda crazy. I can ignore a lot of the show to understand what they tried to convey but those 2 were not friends imo. I can see rivals, I'd believe secret lovers who can't comprehend their feelings but best friends? Come on now. I like where they are now but I do think ur right. Naruto, as a person, thinks about these things intently and then kinda glosses over them once they relatively work out
It's like Pain says, you can never attain peace in the shinobi world, but it doesn't mean you should stop trying. The current system established by Hashirama is not perfect just like the real world but it doesn't mean we should reject the good aspects as well and start afresh. Some things are a work in progress and they will always be a work in progress. And I don't think you can say that Naruto hasn't progressed to that end.
What's there to understand about sasuke? he's not on his right mind lol he was wrong about taking on all hatred by himself and dictorship thing. Naruto didn't ignore him, he replied those who acknowledged by everyone can became hokage or something like that. Itachi and indra did the same thing. Itachi regrets taking everything onto himself. y'all should watch naruto again. Naruto understands where sasuke is coming from. he understands cycle of hatred that's the reason he wants to bring him back to light lol. It was itachi who wanted uchiha massacred to burried under the rag. Rain village refused leaf village help it was in kakashi novels. Rain village is also in peace knowing there's no war between nations anymore. Uchihas are not so innocent to begin with obito is the primary reason for uchiha massacred i.e nine tails attack which lead them to live in outer spear of the village and they were blamed for nine tails attack which lead them for coup d'etat. Obito tnj ending was crap. Sasuke and nagato turning good was also bs imo But that's theme of Naruto "overcoming hatred".
@@Sheanya938 I don't think it's BS. Obito and Nagato were inherently good people who wanted to do what they thought was right. They acknowledged what they did was the wrong thing and made up for it with their deaths. Had they lived after doing all that shit, I'd have said BS. Also Sasuke is only left alive because Naruto and Kakashi vouched for him. Had they not done that he would've probably been imprisoned for life or executed.
One of my favorite parallels that happens in naruto and ties up the beginning and finale of the original series and Shippuden is this question that surrounds Naruto and the whole world of the shinobi. "What it means to be a ninja". through the series we get many perspectives of people trying to be good but failing and becoming a shadow of their former self like Madara, Nagato, Obito, Gaara, etc. and it's this question of why keep trying that in my opinion Naruto gets right, the guts to never give up. I specially like how it is Sasuke that finally answers this long time coming question that team 7 once asked to Kakashi. To endure no matter what happens. That's what truly means to be a ninja.
Sage this is my personal favourite video from you, this was beautiful from start to finish, I'm holding back tears just typing this. Thank you so much.
I love your videos because it lets me see things through a different, better, viewpoint. I personally do not think I can justify going as far as Naruto goes for sausage, but I feel like I understand it more now. Thank you.
I love how most fights in this series had a point, a meaningful conflict. Character development, world building, thematic development or plot progression. Most shonen series have a lot of fights that happen out of necessity.
This is so perfect. I think you’ve written one of my favorites. So many people get the message of Naruto wrong. People think it’s an underdog story, but it’s always been about love. I’ve been saying for a while that Naruto taught me what a real friend looks like. Naruto by all logical metrics should have killed Sasuke in their final fight. It would have saved the world. The rest of the world would have told him to choose between saving his friend and saving the world. He refused to make that decision and instead said he would save the world by saving his friend. This is why I think the Otsutsuki are actually the perfect enemy to finish off the series and not a Shinobi like Madara. The series needed a true antagonist that wasn’t human, someone who had been using the shinobi this whole time. The source of hatred and the cycle was never human, it was the manipulation of something alien. And this is a big point for Boruto’s story, in that it continues the same exact themes as the original story in the next generation, just in new ways. The first arc with Momoshiki shows Boruto and Naruto repairing their parent-child bond. The next arc with Isshiki and Kara shows the shinobi triumphing against Isshiki through bonds (Naruto and Kurama’s, Naruto and Kawaki’s). And now the set-up for Two Blue Vortex is that Kawaki is the darker version of Naruto- someone who started with nothing and then was given love and now desperately wants to protect the people they love. Then you have Boruto, the lighter version of Sasuke- someone who had everything and then lost everyone and everything they loved, but did not succumb to hatred and despair because of the love they have for their brother. Sarada’s love for Boruto is what convinced Sasuke to help him even after Omnipotence. Naruto has kept loving people, seeing Kawaki in himself. The anime for Boruto is pretty rough with all the filler, but the manga’s story continues the message of Naruto in new and interesting ways.
Kaguya is also an appropriate villain because her actions come from a place of wanting to protect what she loves even if it means her children have no freedom. it's only when we get to Momoshiki that at least at the current time his desires exist outside the range of human understanding and the story became about how people react to such a powerful unfeeling force rather then peoples feelings driving them to do extreme things. Personally I think they will do more with Momoshiki than just having him be an unfeeling incomprehensible force but I am satisfied with the story so far so I wouldn't be too upset if he was just used as an excuse to make the plot happen.
@@littenfire3563 there are a multiple themese within an overarching theme. but the main theme is of love friendship and empathy ever since the first episode when Iruka saves Naruto despite having every reason to hate him.
people tend to see this series as just another action anime, even some fans misinterpret it as so, but the fact that love is so inherit into this story... man, i wish more people could appreciate all the thought that was put on the writing to express that message. yes, kishimoto fucked up with a lot of stuff, but i admire that he never gave up on remarking love as the series's main driving force

Great video, great analysis. It's honestly really refreshing and validating to hear some Naruto content that's not just, "this is who would beat this other character up and if you didagree you're wrong you're an [insert slur]." I genuinely think Sasuke didn't fully hate Itachi even at the final battle.
There's a clear difference between Sasuke Vs Itachi and Sasuke Vs Danzo
I believe you are correct

I actually think he said this, not in so many words anyway, during the fight with Gaara.
@@NotDaveGahan He had feelings for Sakura too he just put vengeance over everything! then loses Itachi and became blinded by rage.

Funniest is, able to create new gen, Kishimoto *still made them soulmates, without pissing off fandom, that is biggest inspitarion in other 'extreamly/borderline close bonds creations in fiction', adressed more often, than any other NARUTO ship.* 🙌 💯
Now bombshell for You. It already IS story about Naruto's love, even if often very clumsy and unable to come clear. If it was 'romance' only difference will be kiss by end. 🤷🏻♀️
Taking how Sasuke grown due to Naruto's 'love', (where even last originally chapter, 699 ends by conclusion of 'love bond winning over, breaking curse of hate' no matter, how one want to see it), going his tsundere way to accept it. 🤷🏻♀️
What fans don't see/acknowledge is, Sasuke tried, but couldn't cut his bond with Naruto AS OBSESSIVELY, by ki//ing him and NOT just phisically, he tried MULTIPLE TIMES, so to fallow his 'mission'(surprise, surprise, whole Hinata leaving for Alien is 2h rip off of 'Sasuke leaving to Orochimaru' with kiss by end.
Funniest is, Sasuke, even NOT being in Konoha for whole almost Shippuuden, is person who CANNONICALLY saved Naruto's life most often, doing even more shocking things, than just saving Naruto, again and again: Sasuke(OG) - to show her off HINATA (Shippuuden) - SASUKE in BORUTO in Jigen/Isshiki arc.
Lets also remember, he only made designs and Toneri story in THE LAST...where in official art he drawn SASUKE AND NARUTO in red scarves - symbol of Hinata love is knitting Naruto's, yet Kishimoto made Sasuke matching scarf, which only get more interesting, when we remember whole 'red thread of fate' Japanese believe, adding original 'Sasuke was first who let Naruto feel he is not alone, by JUST EXISTING - as both were alone, as if sharing each other lonlieness. Naruto was always watching Uchiha, like Hinata him... -
as if saying 'kids are needed, but YOU KNOW' 👅).
They take any anime 'bromance' and blow it away. 😂 Like, summing up facts, that we find canon( including those novels, that are consieered canon, even if I am sceptical, but as THE LAST is added as canon, so are other novels CONSIDERED CANON. 🤷🏻♀️
So.
Lets talk about fact, that many FORGET about.
And BORUTO starts with literally walking misery Naruto, spoiled Boruto and Sasuke carring around 'their will', which as Boruto sensei he start to learn Boruto, learning him also respect for his father, being bridge between Boruto and Naruto, literally.
Which is literally deffinition of soulmates. Just other existance is making them whole. 🙌
If we take hyperactive, desperate to not be abandoned Uzumaki and TERRIFIED by bonds Uchiha, with all their curses...it was what story was about. Especially manga. 🙏 🙌
But with change of Sasuke STAYING, Uzumaki still finding their bond special, like we see every time, that they shared scenes, adding that anime 'without You nothing makes sense' / 'I feel same way without You, Sasuke' scene.
JUST Naruto will probably never get his memories and personality alternated, like he got in THE LAST and first tens chapters of BORUTO. 🤷🏻♀️
PS. Now we got Boruto under Sasuke wings. Kawaki is meme of SasuNaru child, not saying how Kishimoto wrote Road to Konoha, where he made Menma Namikaze black haired Uzumaki with sharingan. And so many other arguments. 😂
After War they fight for Ninja future, which is what will only make Naruto even more insisting on Sasuke presence...
@subratanandy2142 I wouldn't say Sasuke is a serial killer because he's somewhat justified in his rage. You also just described Sakura lol.
2. Just how well they work together as a team when it gets down to it, when they helped free kakashi. and 3. sasuke sacrificing himself for naruto and the effect it has on him
This is the first major arc, and the first real time they see real battle.
Sage knew what he was doing posting the thumbnail with that title 😭❤ This is such a lovely take on Naruto and Sasuke's bond.
Naruto: is to enduring and sharing hardship will lead to understand each other
One Piece: keeping yourself free to Pursue your goals/dreams
Bleach: understaning/Knowing oneself makes you stronger to protect what is precious to you
those 3 also: Fighting go BRRRRRRR
Naruto is great, and one piece is cool, but Bleach is kinda bad. It’s definitely the weak link of the three.
As someone who hasn't seen a video from this channel in YEARS, this is actually still some amazing content from what I remember.
Perfectly described! This is definitely a touching scene
I had to pause several times to clear my eyes, because I was tearing up to the point where images became blurry. Thank you.
Aw, bless your heart!
Naruto is my favorite shonen. It always resonated with me because I see it as a story about empathy. It has a focus on the importance of love and how dangerous loneliness can be. I really, really appreciate these themes in the story.
Thanks for the video. This is a great analysis!
Every Jinchūriki wants love and acceptance.
"Just that when I see you take on stuff and get all messed up… it kinda hurts… it hurts inside so much, I can't just leave it alone."
I'm not crying, you're crying
I have not watched a single episode of Naruto, and probable never will. But if there was something out there to convince me to do it, it would be this video because. Wow. This is really powerful.
You should!
It's less that he had a crush on her, and more that she represented for him everything positive about the shinobi world, and all the love in it.
that’s why I love Naruto and I’m happy he never gave up sasuke.

Damn you still didn't reach 1 million subs yet , you deserve it so much
I share Naruto's belief in bonds. I've struggled with returning the favor to those I've bonded with, but seeing this really gives me faith in all that. I would even go so far as to say that love is the best part of being human.
This story is my favorite example of one's love for a friend, a sibling.

Dude you’ve made me cry more than I want to admit. Thank yoy
Loved it. Thank you for making this 💗
You keep your friends sane Sage you always have the right ( perfect) perspective Thanks Brother
Dude i cant put my feelings into words, these videos are just the best
@@dmat606 their system don't work well enough to not start over lol
Kishimoto is in the closet. Read any article where he talks about his wife and suddenly the Naruto/Sasuke focus makes perfect sense
So who is his naruto/susake
This story deeply affected my life and is a favorite... You explained it well Sage!
Much love bro, ur videos are a work of art.
Bruh you've articulated all of the things I love about this series so well. ❤
They can shit on this anime all they want but the stories and bonds moved me and I guess they’ll never know how much these moments meant for us
This is so perfect.
I mean it was an under dog story during part 1 of Naruto but the themes of love and empathy were always there
Kaguya is also an appropriate villain because her actions come from a place of wanting to protect what she loves even if it means her children have no freedom. it's only when we get to Momoshiki that at least at the current time his desires exist outside the range of human understanding and the story became about how people react to such a powerful unfeeling force rather then peoples feelings driving them to do extreme things.

I had staunchly refused to read or watch Boruto until now, but your comment got me really curious about it...
people tend to see this series as just another action anime, even some fans misinterpret it as so, but the fact that love is so inherit into this story... man, i wish more people could appreciate all the thought that was put on the writing to express that message. yes, kishimoto fucked up with a lot of stuff, but i admire that he never gave up on remarking love as the series's main driving force
One of your greatest videos to my perspective, totally good!
"Kiss me sasuke"
-naruto
This was so well done. Thank you for sharing this.
W video. I watched the series growing up so I feel like this went completely over my adolescent head. This is the first thematic analysis video that actually brought something out of left field for me. I had no idea of the strong prevalence of love in this story. Might be worth another watch, as I just caught up to one piece and have the time. Thx for the eye opener sage🙏🏼
Your video made me fall in love with thos story all 9ver again. Thank you.
Same
im so glad that one day i found your channel. its truly healing
Great video, great analysis. It's honestly really refreshing and validating to hear some Naruto content that's not just, "this is who would beat this other character up and if you didagree you're wrong you're an [insert slur]." So much hostility and spite has come out of parts of the online Naruto community which has always felt deeply, bitterly ironic to me. You're content is helping to balance the scales, and it's appreciated. This is what it's about
that’s why naruto will always be my favorite anime forever.
I’m not crying you guys are ! 👏🏿👏🏿😭😭
Love is not when you only meet someone on your own terms, but when you also meet them on their terms
Thats a great sentiment. Indeed, is it not connection which is necessary for the creation of a bond with one another?
Sheesh another hit Sage, you’re so wise mate. Thank you for the content.
My favorite video from you, thank you Sage.
how can that sages rain guy read all that text without crying? i bawl my eyes out every time 😭
Man, this episode made me cry a lot. I am lonely not because I am but because I forced it on myself, similar to Sasuke. But until I find my own inner peace, will I truly change for the better
Because I don't love myself 😢😢😢
Perfect explanation, great video👍 Really enjoyed your breakdown of what the show is really about. I thought I may have been one of the only ones who understood it’s depth like this; I’m glad I was able to come across this video and hear from, someone that gets it.
Gaara tried Talk no Jutsu on Sasuke, but failed at the Five Kage Summit.
Thank you for letting me relive core memories from that anime, Who I am today is largely influenced by Naruto ❤
Theyre in love and they should say it
Sipping a smoothie, eating some mozzarella sticks crying my eyes out watching this at my dining room table.
you're so well spoken man. unsurprisingly another fantastic video!
W, love every video you make man. They make me cry 9/10 times but it’s good tears. Your videos always give me some kind of insight into my own brain and I love it
For a while Kishi could have turned it into a onesided crush on Naruto's part and I wouldn't have even been surprised.
Excellent analysis rain!
I'd love to see a video on Paarthurnax from Skyrim. He's genuinely one of my favorite characters in fiction and has a huge amount of philosophical value in them
Sage I think you should do a few videos on cyberpunk edgerunners, I’m really curious what you’ll pull from it and what kind of story you see while watching
