Ever since the "you know nothing about Itachi Uchiha" video I've been waiting for this day and I'm so happy it finally came. Great video, love this series so much cause I get to learn a lot about the characters. I do wish you spent more time talking about war arc Kakashi tho and explaining how his story came to a close, seeing his team come back together, dealing with Obito and helping him see the light again and him losing the sharingan being a symbol of his story coming to a close and him fully forgiving himself for the things he blamed himself for and his past regrets(also way back in the Pain arc where he got to talk to Sakumo). Loved this video!
Great comment bet many of us agree about the sharingan symbolizing him forgiving himself and being at peace with the past. I also thought that he probably felt better because he didn't have the constant drain of an active sharingan.
It' just dissapointing we never know about Sakumo Hatake and how strong he really is in literal battle. He should also get Edo Tensei just like every OP kage level Ninja who died in the past. So he can see what Kakashi has become.
Kakashi Hatake was the youngest Shinobi to graduate if he had been born an Uchiha you could become the youngest genin chunin and jonin even more than he was in the original series because his use with the Sharingan was even more impressive that he should have been born in that Clan
He would've either been one of the survivors along side Sasuke, a rogue like Itachi or he would've been dead, similar to Shisui, cause I don't believe that someone like Danzo would leave such a talented person alive, if they opposed him.
I think if kakashi was born to any clan he’d just be even more OP. I feel like if he was uzumaki or Senju he’d be insane as well. Kakashi + giant pool of Chakra
Post traumatic stress is no small deal. Fortunately I didn't have an experience bad enough to lead to disorder. Managed to bring myself out in about 1½yrs. It made me understand & empathise with those who have reached the disorder point. Great appreciation for those who fight through it. More power to you for having gotten through the disorder. 🙏
Kakashi’s story never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Such a sad story but also a story of perseverance and triumph. A story of overcoming your demons and hardships in spite of how insurmountable they seem. One of the best backstories in all of Naruto
This video helped me realize a bit about my own ptsd. I’m hesitant to label myself with such because I haven’t served, but like nick said can come from many different circumstances. Realizing it takes others to bring you out of your radicalization to make you feel human again is what hit me. These individuals I just realized have helped me were basically strangers not long ago, now I’d consider them good friends. To those struggling out there keep doing just that. Struggle until you make it. Thanks for the vid nick the effort is appreciated.
PTSD is actually pretty common, and the idea that it can only come from serving in the military does harm to a lot of people, I personally had a traumatic incident in childhood and it took me over 10 years to get diagnosed with PTSD. Your trauma is valid and I hope you can heal and flourish someday. I hope you live the life that you deserve.
Before watching this video...i thought i knew Kakashi...which i did through watching and reading. HOWEVER, you made it more clear and covered points and arcs that i may have missed or misunderstood. I now firmly agree Kakashi has one the best, if not the BEST, character arcs. Thank you for this amazing knowledge and lesson about a character i thought didnt have this much going for him.
I loved Kekashi as a teacher. Even though he was for a fictional world his values transcended his own world into ours. Three main takeaways. Never judge a book by its cover even when they tell everyone I will be Hokage one day. 2 Don’t be a dick! Trust is earned. 3 No one has a perfect life.
What an amazingly written character. He is such a perfect life lesson. He’s relatable and still an important part of the story. He was just made so perfectly
Man you're going through all this so logically but brings literal tears to my eyes. What a beautiful show. The lessons I learned watching this show growing up carried me through some tough times. 2 years ago I watched my father die of cancer. Sitting next to him in hospice, feeling the weight solely on my shoulders to hold his hand and be with him to the very end, all I could think about was how Kakashi would accept the reality of death, stare it straight in the eye, and be there for his friend, calm cool and collected. And that's what I did. This show taught me so much about what it means to be strong.
I like the added layers that his ANBU arc adds a lot to his character. From one perspective, it's easy to see how the impressionable kid Kakashi became obsessed with following the rules and obeying the government, only to have Obito set him on the right path. But, then the incident with Rin happens, and for a while, he relapses into thinking that his revelation about teamwork and friendship was just as misguided as he originally thought it was. Through his ANBU years, he experiences mixed successes in getting back on the right path; befriending and saving Yamato, but also failing Itachi (At least from his perspective). He then gets into teaching, in the hopes that he can help cure the root of the problem. But, he ends up failing multiple teams of genin because he thinks they don't represent his values. Things start to look better with Team 7, but even then, while Naruto and Sakura flourish, Sasuke eventually leaves to join Orochimaru, in the hopes of pursuing revenge. All of this goes to show that redemption isn't a straight line. It's a jagged, bending path that has many peaks and valleys. Recovery takes a long time; you will make mistakes, and there will be other shortcomings along the way. Kakashi has led an incredibly difficult life, one of the most difficult in the whole show. He has failed, MANY times throughout his life, even in things that he, and maybe some others, might consider unforgivable. But, unlike his father, he persevered, and eventually, he came out the other side, as a virtuous, inspiring, and truly _good_ person.
One small thing I feel, personally, is that Kakashi and I have a bit of survivor's guilt. For Kakashi, he threw himself into a field where he could control everything or die trying. He made sure he didn't have connections in being so cold, but making sure that they make it back, or that he no longer fails his mission at the risk of his life.
Kakashi before obito: „i have to serve konoha perfectly. No matter what. I won‘t end like my father.😟🥲😡“ Kakashi after obito: „THE LAW IS SACRED UNTIL I BREAK IT! 😈😎🎼“
Kakashi is by far my favorite character. Yeah he is cool and hot af but that are not even the main reasons why I like him so much. He is strong and has a alot of experience, he is smart, has a tragic backstory and insane character development. And honestly he is the closest to a real ninja in the entire show.
You know, I'm never THAT interested in the products these sponsorships are for, but goddamn do I enjoy the effort you put into them and the fact you actually show yourself trying it and give a description about it

Hello Fresh is good and all but when it comes to the summer, the insulation the boxes come with doesn’t hold up with the heat, I’ve had back to back packages come in with warm food because it could hold up, when you call them they say they can’t refund you because they sent you food but they’ll send you another box which takes an extra week!
so true kakashi still my ultimate fab character then Itachi.... kakashi is smart as hell, he is the master of seeing through deception. he always has an Ace up his sleeve. never goes into a fight without using a shadow clone to see his enemies strengths and weaknesses.
“Recognition doesn’t get you when you miss.” It’s very hard for having pride which is great. It’s like having to look brilliant to look foolish and look foolish to be brilliant.
His lackluster chakra reserve was because of the Sharingan draining it when he was using the Sharingan (because he's not an Uchiha, so his body isn't adapted). Even with this, it expanded a lot during the war arc. And after losing the Sharingan, it is actually pretty big.
Kakashi was what we all saw at the beggening as the top ninja, but when he fought kakuza and hidan my respect for him went up like x10, thats when he showed his real strength as 1 of the ninjas without op super powers still held is own. he builds the foundation that people who abandon their mission are scum, but those who discard their friends are worse than scum, thats such a big life lesson outside of natuto however we can't forget the importance of obito, he was the original naruto who changed kakashi mind
9 Kakashi was 9 when he became jounin (Obito and Rin were 13), it was a later rewrite that made him closer in age to Obito and Rin - 12 to their 13. And no we don't know how they became a team in the later case, but obito was 13 when he "died".
Did pain actually make Kakashi hurt or to feel? what did Kakashi really get? Something priceless? To see his love for just the fear of pain. And he had that in spades or more than enough pain to share in fact it took all of his pain away so was it bad or good because he got to finally sit and talk to his dad about their stories at a fire.
Sakumo and Itachi are the same. Both are incredibly skilled but also vilified by their own Village. Except Itachi could have done something differently with stopping the Uchiha uprising (such as working with others)... unless Sakumo could have also done something differently during his "failed mission". 🤔
Thank you for summing up exactly everything that makes me love this character more than any other character in any other anime! Kakashi is so, so well written, and I'm happy that the writers of the anime saw that enough to expand his story with those filler episodes. I think, more than anyone else, he truly embodies some of the core values of the show - and even some of the core values of the real life people and myths that Naruto is based on.
Just want to post my personal theory on the kamui Kakashi and obito have the reverse kamui Kakashi in the moment he kills Rin, wishes he could remove his own arm to prevent the death of his teammate as he just realised his fathers ideology in of making sure his teammates survive even if it costs the mission and yet he failed to carry out that ideology (in a sense letting his father down) Meanwhile obito upon witnessing rins death wishes he could take away a object or body part (in this case kakashis hand) from a distance to stop Kakashi taking away the person obito loves the most
Imagine creating a system to specificaly keep children out of battle field and it getting rendered completely useless on more than one occasion (Kakashi, Itachi, Shisui, probably many others). Tobirama and Hashirama were probably rolling over in their caskets.
@@wwe12153 it doesn't justify, they were both just children, kakashi was treated as a weapon since 5 y/o, which obviously fucked up with his mind, and yes, they were geniuses, but also human beings
Kakashi, Obito and Rin are the same age, Kakashi was either on a different team or just filled in on random missions. We know this because of Gai's age when they join the academy and he later referred to Obito as his classmate, which is how Kiba and Shino refer to Naruto.
Many sources contradict each other (manga, anime, databook) and even themselves. I think we shouldn't look at it the way it was pictured in Naruto era. The Konoha 12 all seemed to have graduated at 12, but it shouldn't be taken at face value. Kakashi & co were at war, Konoha needed shinobi so they probably didn't have a set minimum wage for entering the academy and graduating. They could have all been classmates at some point but either entered sooner or later or graduated sooner or later.
@@xAbby65Very true. Data books and stats created by fans are recorded as the manga goes on. And since the person writing the manga has no concern or obligation to stay true to whatever the data books say, things change. It’s pretty normal for information to be true one moment, then wrong the next as the story progresses.
Phenomenal video! You and your editor did an amazing job! ❤❤ Side note: I didn’t know kakashi was so young on team Minato! I thought they were all the same age! Does anyone know where I can find these facts; are they in data books?

Also being a real life war veteran (Afghanistan 2013). I can say the thoughts about PTSD and the way it's dealt with is spot on by NC... As well as seclusion from all friends and family being either a shut in or married to your work/training. Especially when said job or training is combat related... Being institutionalized is the same form of PTSD. Not exactly the same, but the same in that prison becomes the one place where anything makes sense, so you do whatever you have to do go back. Great comment bet many of us agree about the sharingan symbolizing him forgiving himself and being at peace with the past. I also thought that he probably felt better because he didn't have the constant drain of an active sharingan.
i don't think it is a very good thing to talk about
Forgot about how guy did so much heavy lifting in kakashis life + jiraya when he told him to seek help and talk, socialize and live more
Kakashi is a legend and a half. Would be awesome if you could you make a "what if Sakumo had lived" scenario like you've done for other characters
We dont have enough info on sakumo yet
It' just dissapointing we never know about Sakumo Hatake and how strong he really is in literal battle. He should also get Edo Tensei just like every OP kage level Ninja who died in the past. So he can see what Kakashi has become.
@@Ilyas-ty6cy would also have liked that although I really like nchammer's theory on why he couldn't be brought back
Kakashi Hatake was the youngest Shinobi to graduate if he had been born an Uchiha you could become the youngest genin chunin and jonin even more than he was in the original series because his use with the Sharingan was even more impressive that he should have been born in that Clan
He would've either been one of the survivors along side Sasuke, a rogue like Itachi or he would've been dead, similar to Shisui, cause I don't believe that someone like Danzo would leave such a talented person alive, if they opposed him.
@@glayzeterminus6657 so yes then
@@gerardocovarrubias3058 yes.
I think if kakashi was born to any clan he’d just be even more OP. I feel like if he was uzumaki or Senju he’d be insane as well. Kakashi + giant pool of Chakra
Facts
Imagine Kakashi visualizing Rin when he killed Haku with the Chidori
He probably did tho
Some people believe he did
its a good hint at his backstory early in the series. how rin and haku died in the same way, running in front of kakashis chidori
Talking about PTSD hits home I’m a combat veteran myself and I completely understand how Kashi feels
Susear I appreciate that
Respect
Thank you for your service 🫡
Kakashi’s story never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Such a sad story but also a story of perseverance and triumph. A story of overcoming your demons and hardships in spite of how insurmountable they seem. One of the best backstories in all of Naruto
Kakashi has been and will always be that guy.
Thank you for this amazing knowledge and lesson about a character i thought didnt have this much going for him.
of course you know nothing, because 20 minutes of the 40 is talking about filler 👽
Imagine Adult Naruto, Adult Sasuke and Adult Sakura retaking the bell test.
Against DMS Kakashi.
@@rockzs74ryeah at that point they fail automatically 😂
I'm surprised the Uchiha Clan didn't demand Obito's eye back from Kakashi.
They did but fugaku told them to respect obitos decision to trust his sharingan to kakashi
I won‘t end like my father.😟🥲😡“
Kakashi after obito: „THE LAW IS SACRED UNTIL I BREAK IT! 😈😎🎼“
Naruto needs. A prequel like “clone wars”. With Kakashi, Minato and the Sanin and the main characters.
The biggest injustice done to Kakashi was him not having any offspring. It just doesn't make sense to loose such a valuable bloodline.
Kakashi is by far my favorite character. Yeah he is cool and hot af but that are not even the main reasons why I like him so much. He is strong and has a alot of experience, he is smart, has a tragic backstory and insane character development.
And honestly he is the closest to a real ninja in the entire show.
character development ? he is kinda underdeveloped , in part 2 , he had so much potential but we saw nothing of it
You know, I'm never THAT interested in the products these sponsorships are for, but goddamn do I enjoy the effort you put into them and the fact you actually show yourself trying it and give a description about it
Man this the one right here....I knew so much about kakashi already but the way to told that story is why I see you as the Naruto goat almost mad this grown man drop a tear... You show case his struggles n growth thru your words that anyone would almost say he was the protagonist the whole time🤯
He got the ages wrong though obito and rin were only a few months old not years old
Kakashi witnessed 3 Generations of blonde-headed and blue-eyed Rasengan using Shinobi.
Minato
Naruto
Boruto
Kakashi washing his hands, trying to replay his memories of Rins death, Obitos and Hakus death while understanding Zabuza ninja way and reminding him of Hakus love of his comrade.
I think Kakashi was at his prime when he joined the Anbu.
He was stagnant in his thinking and he didnt train as much. He was a machine that needed a soul.....
Thanks for making this video, Kakashi is my favourite character, he went through so much. The best fillers Naruto ever had where the ones with Kakashi's life, I got the novels as well just to read more of his story.
A 40 minute video about KAKASHI ??? Absolutely 🥰
Please like so everyone sees!
so true kakashi still my ultimate fab character then Itachi.... kakashi is smart as hell, he is the master of seeing through deception. he always has an Ace up his sleeve. never goes into a fight without using a shadow clone to see his enemies strengths and weaknesses.
“Recognition doesn’t get you when you miss.” It’s very hard for having pride which is great. It’s like having to look brilliant to look foolish and look foolish to be brilliant.
I like the theory that he could be descended from Tobirama but his lackluster chakra reserves say otherwise.
His lackluster chakra reserve was because of the Sharingan draining it when he was using the Sharingan (because he's not an Uchiha, so his body isn't adapted). Even with this, it expanded a lot during the war arc. And after losing the Sharingan, it is actually pretty big.
Kakashi was what we all saw at the beggening as the top ninja, but when he fought kakuza and hidan my respect for him went up like x10, thats when he showed his real strength as 1 of the ninjas without op super powers still held is own. he builds the foundation that people who abandon their mission are scum, but those who discard their friends are worse than scum, thats such a big life lesson outside of natuto however we can't forget the importance of obito, he was the original naruto who changed kakashi mind
bro just learned the word myriad
Kakashi is a mentor where the Senjin are teachers to his team. Both are importend, but teach you different things.
Kakashi has been my #1 since the series started. Glad to see him getting some love here😊
Kakashi is the embodiment of an American soldier. “I will always place the mission first”.
Bruh how was a 16 year old Rin crushing on a 12 year old Kakashi…. That’s weird
It was changed to them having 1-2 year age gap
Kakashi is literally the dark and brooding rogue who opens up as the campaign continues in dnd
Hard Life... Superior Art... Intense Suffering... Great Kakashi-sensei.
Just want to post my personal theory on the kamui
Kakashi and obito have the reverse kamui
Kakashi in the moment he kills Rin, wishes he could remove his own arm to prevent the death of his teammate as he just realised his fathers ideology in of making sure his teammates survive even if it costs the mission and yet he failed to carry out that ideology (in a sense letting his father down)
Meanwhile obito upon witnessing rins death wishes he could take away a object or body part (in this case kakashis hand) from a distance to stop Kakashi taking away the person obito loves the most
Honestly can't think of anyone who hates kakashi he's just that good of a character
NcHammer/ Nick, you’re videos make my days man! Thank you for talking about the stuff we all feel out and think about randomly haha! Stay safe man!
Imagine creating a system to specificaly keep children out of battle field and it getting rendered completely useless on more than one occasion (Kakashi, Itachi, Shisui, probably many others). Tobirama and Hashirama were probably rolling over in their caskets.
but kakashi , itachi are a rarity , usually people become chounin when they are adults , kakashi and itachi are just extremely talented
@@wwe12153 it doesn't justify, they were both just children, kakashi was treated as a weapon since 5 y/o, which obviously fucked up with his mind, and yes, they were geniuses, but also human beings
@@nathaliasenff984 it proves that they are older than their age.
Next time: "what IF Kakashi decided to abandon/betray/take revenge on Konoha"
Love your content Nick!
Can we all imagine if Kakashi was born as an Uchiha?
Wudnt b fair he wudda been the 5th hokage
I like to think Sakumo's failed mission directly led to the Third Shinobi War.
Kakashi’s backstory is literally just him going “i don’t know how many more it is what is I got left”
Phenomenal video! You and your editor did an amazing job! ❤❤
Side note: I didn’t know kakashi was so young on team Minato! I thought they were all the same age! Does anyone know where I can find these facts; are they in data books?
naruto shippuden episode 385 please watch it Obito mentions "but he is the same age as we are" after asking why Kakashi is so much better then he an Rin

Kakashi probably will always be my favorite anime character personally
You forgot the most important part of his life: when and how he started reading jiraiyas books
Pain: know pain Kakashi the copy ninja
Kakashi: I live in pain *reveals past*

Did you say obito was 16 during the 3rd war he was only 14/15 when he attacked Konaha
Also being a real life war veteran (Afghanistan 2013). I can say the thoughts about PTSD and the way it's dealt with is spot on by NC... As well as seclusion from all friends and family being either a shut in or married to your work/training. Especially when said job or training is combat related... It keeps you there in that theater where the brain chemistry was quite literally changed from traumatic events
I wonder if kakashi is still fans' fav character in 2022. I hope so
2024 and he's my favorite.
I see a lot of comments about Naruto (the show) but hardly any comments about how well the video is put together. NC delivers this entire video so well. The way he presents every video actually keeps my ADHD azz engaged the entire time. Top notch TH-camr in my opinion. 👏👏
I love Kakashi so much he's one of my favorite character in naruto. Love your videos

As much as I loved hearing more about Kakashi I was thoroughly impressed by your knife skills. I'm a chef and you cut the exact same way as I do, choke up on the knife and tuck in your guide fingers, well done good sir.
Imagine if Obito was a Hyūga. Then Kakaahi would be called, "Kakashi Hatake of the Byakugan Eye." or "Kakashi, the White Ninja."
No, itd be Kakashi of the Byakugan, or the sensor ninja or something
This was a masterpiece analysis into Kakashi's psychology.
Even if Kakashi lost his dad and his team, he still had the Leaf Village.
His dad killed himself because of the leaf
@@godfrieddoulome8008 even when Konoha villagers harassed Sakumo to suicide, Kakashi was still loyal to Konoha. Kakashi as a kid was strict on rules and Sakumo broke the rules, it only took Obito to make him realize his dad was a hero.
Whenever I hear/see the land of waves storyline I always get goosebumps
I liked the fight between Kakashi and Obito during the war.
Kakashi is truly a man who suffers hard ptsd from the ninja system...always loved when sasuke is tied to the tree and is lectureing sasuke and sasuke says you dont know what its like to loose all the love ones .....my dude just smile and says yes i do everyone i loved is dead .....smh kakashi childhood was way more filled of horrors my man got balls of steel anyone eles would of quite on life my dude just kept going along

Being institutionalized is the same form of PTSD. Not exactly the same, but the same in that prison becomes the one place where anything makes sense, so you do whatever you have to do go back. It's real. I wasn't even in for that long and once I got out and realized that the people I thought and dreamed about every single day and night didn't give half a sh*t about me, I almost self-sabotaged. Instead, I learned from it, used it to be a better person to others than they were to me, and used it to get sober and have been since 2015.
Great video and explaination! I love these character breakdown videos! Will you do the remaining cast?
Literally the first two minutes got me hooked! I truly love the way you explain things!! You do. Fantastic job. Keep up the good work. Glad I found this page.
I loved his arc and would agree hes the best written but i also loved Nejis to but i wish they didnt kill him off.
Nejis death didn't really have any meaning or impact that's why most people don't like it. If Gai would've died making an opening for the others to kill Madara it would've made more sense. I never got Nejis death
I wish we had an anime of Kakashi's life starting from when he first met Guy as a kid up until the 9 Tails attack on Konoha. That would be fire 🔥
Fun fact: Kakashi wears two masks.
