Love watching your classy video very refreshing I’m a Disabled Marine in the states and know I’d love to see the country of my ancestors and know I never will Thank You guys great job spectacular
Grandfather Mountain in the states claims to be the biggest Highland games in the world .You also triggered my fish supper reflex and I had to get one after watching this .
Adam and Madalyn, I’m from Glasgow, Scotland and I absolutely love your videos of your travels in my beautiful country. It’s evident how much you’ve enjoyed your time here and I just love your enthusiasm. By the way, the giant log you toss at the Highland Games is called a caber. Keep the videos coming.
A little late, but I just found this video. Such a beautiful area. I am McDonald by birth and Ramsey by marriage. The Sc highlands are My ancestral home And I see you have been through Glenn Co. . Do you know the story of Glenn Co and the slaughter of a branch of the Mcdonald clan?
@@AdamandMadalyn I am part of clan Donald. DNA haploid group RM 269. I lost track of my Scottish ancestors back in the time of king James. When many fled from Scotland to Ireland, and then into Canada. Some Scottish people were just packed up by order of the kings and shipped out of Scotland, whether they wanted to go or not. I I do remember my father telling me how our ancestors would come down from the highlands at night to appropriate (steal) cattle, sheep and crops from the lowland clans. However, I have traced a lot of my ancestry to multiple mayflower passengers.
I am surprised that your peas with the fish and chips weren't mushy peas. By the way, did you get a sticky pudding anywhere in Scotland? I had a great one in Inverness, memorable.
@@AdamandMadalynthat means we’ll be freezing by mid October. I’m booking that Monkstadt Hotel too for 3 days. That’s so awesome. Thank you for the info!
My perants use to say they would through me in the Crinan canal so i would find a husband, i can't swim, i could see the flaw in there plan. My mother is a MaDonald and i'm Lamont, so i'm from the most masicard clan and the 3rd most masicard clan. My crest is a red hand because there was a boat race to win some land, we were loosing so a guy on the boat cut his hand off and threw it on the land, we wone the land. So pleased to see you love our food please pass on how good it is so we can disstroy the idea our food is bad. Fabulous vlog, thank you.
If you are in Mallaig, saying the name 'Mallaig', how can you apologise if you're not saying it properly? Didn't you just asked a local how to say it???
Loved, loved, loved this!
🙌

the tossing of the giant log is called tossing the caber or caber tossing
Caber Tossing! Thank you! It really is incredible to watch!
You have to pour some malt vinegar over all those things and then take a bite! mmmm Good! ☺️

We had sticky toffee pudding in Northern Ireland and it was divine!

So honest? Could u understand the dialect /accent clearly, or NOT? Is communication an issue anywhere in the UK for the average american?
We’ve spent about 2 weeks of our lives in the UK and never had a communication issue, however we did struggle with roundabouts while driving
