If driving the longest road in the world wasn’t enough, give yourselves 100 days to build a 4x4 motorhome capable of such a task.
Patagonia, a place that’s reputation precedes it. Famous on every continent for its natural wonders, this part of the world calls every adventurer at least once. Yet Not all answer. For us, we took the longest and most arduous way to get here, but what awaits us still ahead will surpass any feeling or experience, of anywhere we’ve travelled in all the Americas. These next few weeks can only be described as wildly eventful and Unexpected, to the 11th degree.
40,000 miles crossing every type of terrain imaginable, throughout some of the most feared and remote places on earth. Just for something to do? No. For something to write books about, something to relish in the aliveness of living on the edge of the unknown and sanity, something to radically expand our perspective of what the world is actually like and what is possible within one’s lifetime

I can’t remember which episode it was in this series, I think it was in Mexico… Stacey was opening up a gate to get the chinook through. Matthew’s narration in the moment said something along the lines of, “If you ever find a girl like Stacey don’t ever let her go.”
I obviously do not know you two and how you two feel about marriage, but I for sure thought in that moment that if there was ever going to be a proposal it was going to be on this trip.
Biggest congrats to you two. Looks like you left a lot of people shedding some happy tears on a Thursday in May.
This has been an amazing journey to witness and thank you both for sharing so much with us.

I was loading my car for a weekend getaway when I noticed this much anticipated video had dropped. I stopped what I was doing to watch it. A few minutes later I had a tear when I saw the perfect proposal with the most epic backdrop. A love story with a great adventure. We have been watching every week and this latest video blew us away. It is not just the scenery but the poetry that is your narration. After we watched the video we looked outside here at our home fully expecting to see Patagonia. I just wanted to cry. At 78 and 80, this video is the only way we will get to fully immerse ourselves in the wild, wonder and beauty at the end of the America's. Great episode as always. However, we want to thank you for sharing the intimate moment of your proposal moment. There are few events in life you watch that makes a married couple, as you are sitting on the couch with you 3 month old sitting between you, reach across toward each other without words hold each others hand and just smile. Who couldn’t and admire Matthew’s growing mastery of narration and I’m guessing Stacy’s writing.
Every time Stacy smiled or giggled I melted, Mathew you are a lucky guy. Any woman that could do 16 months like that in a tiny space thought deserts and freezing months, sketchy counties etc. I quite remarkable and rare.

My number one bucket list trip!! We’re just about ready to sell the house in the lower mainland and move to Haida Gwaii. My wife was born and raised on north beach outside of Masset so when she brought me home for the first time about 8 years ago I fell in love with the landscape and most importantly, the people. It’s been a huge challenge but the end is in sight. Congratulations to both of you and all the best!

First off, congratulations on your engagement. This adventure has surely allowed to to know each other in a way that takes years of a city life to experience. I have to admit that it has taken me hours to watch your last few videos as I watch to a certain point and then have to pause and let the scenery and emotion wash over me. Your camera work on stills, video and the drone have improved to a professional level and your ability to describe the moment is at times, almost overwhelming.
I have to tell you that we were at a week-long music festival last week and a total stranger, seeing my TWRs T-shirt, approached me and just started carrying on about how much he loved your channel. I'm betting he loves it even more now. We must have talked for nearly an hour about your travels and you as people.
Sunday has the soul of a lion and the heart of a bull and is the best purpose made vehicle for this type of travel ever made. You guys have to be proud of her (Him)? The point you made about people travelling thousands of miles to find, or meet, the person that enlightens them was perfect. Possibly some have to travel that far to listen to their own mind talking to them.
What a wonderful series of adventure and I thank you deeply for all you have shown us. Now hurry on home and start a new adventure. I can't wait!
